Leading order study of direct photon production from proton-proton collisions, in the framework of Minimal (Seiberg-Witten) Non-Commutative Standard Model (NCSM), taking into account the Earth-rotation effects. We found that relative non-commutative contributions increase significantly at very high photon transverse momentum. Therefore, using Run-1 (\sqrt{s}= 8 TeV) and Run-2 (\sqrt{s}= 13 TeV) ATLAS experimental data of inclusive isolated prompt photon cross-section, TeV-Scale bounds of the non-commutativity (NC) parameter are obtained. For space-space non-commutativity, we obtain: Λb=1.145 \pm 0.015 TeV , and for space-time non-commutativity, we obtain : Λe=1.125 \pm 0.035 TeV.
The aim of this article is to explore a potential usability of a photon-photon self-interaction from the noncommutative quantum electrodynamics (NCQED) in the case of light-by-light scattering ($γγ\toγγ$) in ultraperipheral Pb+Pb collisions, a reaction measured recently by ATLAS and planned for future experiments in hadron-hadron colliders. We compute the total cross section from both, the full one-loop standard model (SM) and the tree-level NCQED amplitudes, in the equivalent photon approximation with impact parameters, for various noncommutative scales, $\rmΛ_{NC}$, and incoming nuclear spin…
Since the structure of space-time at very short distances is believed to get modified possibly due to noncommutativity effects and as the Dirac Quantization Condition (DQC), $μe = \frac{N}{2}\hbar c$, probes the magnetic field point singularity, a natural question arises whether the same condition will still survive. We show that the DQC on a noncommutative space in a model of dynamical noncommutative quantum mechanics remains the same as in the commutative case to first order in the noncommutativity parameter $θ$, leading to the conjecture that the condition will not alter in higher orders.
We examine experimental signatures of TeV-mass black hole formation in heavy ion collisions at the LHC. We find that the black hole production results in a complete disappearance of all very high $p_T$ ({$> 500$} GeV) back-to-back correlated di-jets of total mass {$M > M_f \sim 1$}TeV. We show that the subsequent Hawking-decay produces multiple hard mono-jets and discuss their detection. We study the possibility of cold black hole remnant (BHR) formation of mass $\sim M_f$ and the experimental distinguishability of scenarios with BHRs and those with complete black hole decay. Finally we point …
We study neutrino spin oscillations in gravitational fields in non-commutative spaces. For the Schwarzschild metric the maximum frequency decreases with increasing the noncommutativity parameter. In the case of Reissner-Nordstrom (RN) metric, the maximum frequency of oscillation is a monotonically increasing function of the noncommutativity parameter .In both cases, the frequency of spin oscillations decreases as the distance from the gravitational source grows. We present a phenomenological application of our results. It is also shown that the noncommutativity parameter is bounded as 0.1 l_p.
We revisit the constraints on semileptonic operators derived from the mono-$τ$ high-$p_T$ events in $pp$ collisions at LHC. Like in previous studies, we obtain limits on the New Physics couplings from the CMS data much stronger than from the ATLAS data, despite a nearly equal integrated luminosity. We find that a neglected systematics on the $τ$ lepton reconstruction efficiency can partly explain that difference. We then provide new limits on the New Physics couplings relevant to decays based on $b\to cτ\barν$ by using the recent ATLAS data with 139 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$. We also show that the inclu…
We discuss the phenomenology associated with a resonant monotop collider signal, i.e. a signal in which a single top quark is resonantly produced in association with missing energy through an s-channel scalar exchange. We study both the bounds originating from dedicated monotop searches performed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments, and the constraints associated with other processes that could be induced by a new physics context favouring monotop production at colliders. The latter class of constraints includes, in particular, the recasting of analyses from the LHC and the TeVatron. All theoreti…
In previous work, we identified an anomalous number of events in the LHC jets+MET searches characterized by low jet multiplicity and low-to-moderate transverse energy variables. Here, we update this analysis with results from a new ATLAS search in the monojet channel which also shows a consistent excess. As before, we find that this "monojet excess" is well-described by the resonant production of a heavy colored state decaying to a quark and a massive invisible particle. In the combined ATLAS and CMS data, we now find a local (global) preference of 3.3$σ$ (2.5$σ$) for the new physics model ove…
The move towards simplified models for Run II of the LHC will allow for stronger and more robust constraints on the dark sector. However there already exists a wealth of Run I data which should not be ignored in the run-up to Run II. Here we reinterpret public constraints on generic beyond-standard-model cross sections to place new constraints on a simplified model. We make use of an ATLAS search in the monojet $+$ missing energy channel to constrain a representative simplified model with the dark matter coupling to an axial-vector $Z'$. We scan the entire parameter space of our chosen model t…
Models where dark matter is a part of an electroweak multiplet feature charged particles with macroscopic lifetimes due to the charged-neutral mass split of the order of pion mass. At the Large Hadron Collider, the ATLAS and CMS experiments will identify these charged particles as disappearing tracks, since they decay into a massive invisible dark matter candidate and a very soft charged Standard-Model particle which fails to pass the reconstruction requirements. While ATLAS and CMS have focused on the supersymmetric versions of these scenarios, we have performed here the reinterpretation of t…
The existence of magnetic monopoles, also predicted in some GUT theories, would symmetrise Maxwell equations and explain the charge quantisation. Searches for them are being performed in cosmic telescopes as well as in collider experiments, such as MoEDAL and ATLAS. In this report, we focus on the, least explored, photon-fusion mechanism, yet Drell-Yan results are discussed, too. Cross sections for monopoles of spin 0, 1/2 and 1 for an effective monopole-velocity-dependent magnetic charge are presented. For spin-1/2 and spin-1 monopoles, a magnetic-moment term is included, which is treated as …
We employ the ATLAS search results for events containing jets and large missing transverse momentum, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb^{-1}, to investigate the constrained minimal supersymmetric model (CMSSM) with b-τYukawa coupling unification. In this scenario, one of the stops is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP), which co-annihilates with the lightest (LSP) neutralino to yield the desired dark matter relic abundance. The NLSP stop, here taken to be lighter than the top quark, is slightly (<~ 20%-30%) heavier than the LSP neutralino, and it primarily decays…
We analyse the constraints on models of WIMP Dark Matter that can be derived from upper bounds on the "monojet" cross section at the LHC. These constraints were originally interpreted in the context of an effective field theory (EFT) where the Standard Model is extended by a dimension--6 operator whose coefficient is $1/Λ^2$. We show that combining the 8 TeV data of the ATLAS and CMS collaborations improves the bounds only slightly. We then analyze this final state in the context of simplified models with $s-$channel mediator. We show that if the decay width of the mediator is small, these sim…
I extract new limits on the coefficient of the effective operator generated by tree-level graviton exchange in large extra dimensions from $pp \rightarrow jj$ angular distributions at LHC: $M_T > 6.8$ TeV (CMS after $2.6 fb^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity) and $M_T > 8.3$ TeV (ATLAS after $3.6 fb^{-1}$). I also compare such limits to the ones obtained using the full graviton amplitude, and discuss the impact of additional constrains arising from other datasets, such as Mono-Jet.
We investigate the sensitivity of the Large Hadron Collider to supersymmetric setups using monotop probes in which the signal is a single top quark produced in association with missing transverse energy. Our prospective study relies on Monte Carlo simulations of 300 invfb of proton- proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV and considers both leptonic and hadronic monotop decays. We present analysis strategies sensitive to regions of the supersymmetric parameter space which feature small superparticle mass splittings and illustrate their strengths in the context of a particular se…
The public collider phenomenology computing tool CheckMATE (Check Models at Terascale Energies) was originally designed to allow theorists to quickly test their favourite BSM models against various existing LHC analyses performed by ATLAS and CMS. It offers an automatised chain of Monte Carlo event generation, detector simulation, event analysis and statistical evaluation so that it can automatically determine whether a given parameter point of a BSM model is excluded or not. Currently, it contains more than 50 individual ATLAS or CMS analyses whose several hundred signal regions target variou…
The spin 1/2 magnetic monopole pair production and the spin 0 monopolium production are studied in proton-proton collisions. For the pair production, the velocity-dependent coupling model and the additional effective coupling with a magnetic moment parameter are used for the calculation of photon fusion and Drell Yan cross sections. Since the monopole mass is unknown, the mass range employed is based on the last results of ATLAS and the MoEDAL experiment, which set a minimal value of around 2 TeV. The cross sections are calculated for the center of mass energies of the LHC, for its successor, …
We investigate the crossing-symmetry relation between $b\to cτ^-\barν$ decay and $b\bar c\to τ^-\barν$ scattering to derive direct correlations of New Physics in semi-tauonic $B$-meson decays and the mono-tau signature at the LHC ($pp\toτ_h X$ + MET). Using an exhaustive set of effective operators and heavy mediators we find that the current ATLAS and CMS data constrain scenarios addressing anomalies in $B$-decays. Pure tensor solutions, completed by leptoquark, and right-handed solutions, completed by $W^\prime_R$ or leptoquark, are challenged by our analysis. Furthermore, the sensitivity tha…
We use ATLAS and CMS searches in the mono-jet + missing energy and mono-photon + missing energy final state to set limits on the couplings of dark matter to quarks and gluons. Working in an effective field theory framework we compare several existing mono-jet analyses and find that searches with high p_T cuts are more sensitive to dark matter. We constrain the suppression scale of the effective dark matter-Standard Model interactions, and convert these limits into bounds on the cross sections relevant to direct and indirect detection. We find that, for certain types of operators, in particular…
This paper examines unexplored correlations in the parameter spaces probed by recent ATLAS analyses for gluinos and squarks, addressing various shortcomings in the literature. Six 13 TeV ATLAS analyses based on 3.2 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity are interpreted in the 19-parameter R-parity conserving phenomenological minimal supersymmetric extension to the Standard Model (pMSSM). The distinct regions covered by each search are independent of prior, and we reveal particularly striking complementarity between the 2-6 jets and Multi-b searches. In the leptonic searches, we identify better sen…
Monojet events at colliders have been used to probe models of dark matter and extra dimensions. We point out that these events also probe extensions of the Standard Model modifying neutrino-quark interactions. Such nonstandard interactions (NSI) have been discussed in connection with neutrino oscillation experiments. Assuming first that NSI remain contact at LHC energies, we derive stringent bounds that approach the levels suggested by the Boron-8 solar data. We next explore the possibility that the mediators of the NSI can be produced at colliders. The constraints are found to be strongest fo…
We study self-interacting dark matter signatures at the Large Hadron Collider. A light dark photon, mediating dark matter self-interactions, can bind dark matter particles to form a bound state when they are produced via a heavy pseduoscalar in $pp$ collisions. The bound state can further annihilate into a pair of boosted dark photons, which subsequently decay into charged leptons through a kinetic mixing portal, resulting in striking displaced lepton jet signals. After adapting the analysis used in the ATLAS experiment, we explore the reach of the model parameters at the $13~{\rm TeV}$ run wi…
The installation of forward detectors in CMS and ATLAS turn the LHC to an effective photon-photon collider. The elastic scattering of the beam-protons via the emission of photons, which can be identified by tagging the intact protons in the forward detectors, provides a powerful diagnostic of the central production of new particles through photon-photon annihilation. In this letter we study the central production of dark matter particles and the potential of LHC to constrain the cross section of this process. By virtue of the crossing symmetry, this limit can immediately be used to constrain t…

We study the impact of non-standard neutrino interactions in the context of a new gauge boson $Z'$ in neutral-current deep-inelastic scattering performed in ForwArd Search ExpeRiment-$ν$ (FASER$ν$) and in monojet production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We simulate the neutral-current deep-inelastic neutrino-nucleon scattering $νN \rightarrow νN$ at FASER$ν$ in the presence of an additional $Z'$ boson, and estimate the anticipated sensitivities to the gauge coupling in a wide range of $Z'$ mass. At the LHC, we study the effect of $Z'$ on monojet production, which can be enhanced in regio…
We present results of the updated SuperChic 3 Monte Carlo event generator for central exclusive production. This extends the previous treatment of proton-proton collisions to include heavy ion (pA and AA) beams, for both photon and QCD-initiated production, the first time such a unified treatment of exclusive processes has been presented in a single generator. To achieve this we have developed a theory of the gap survival factor in heavy ion collisions, which allows us to derive some straightforward results about the $A$ scaling of the corresponding cross sections. We compare against the recen…
A mostly right-handed sneutrino as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) is an interesting dark matter candidate, leading to LHC signatures which can be quite distinct from those of the conventional neutralino LSP. Using SModelSv1.0.1 for testing the model against the limits published by ATLAS and CMS in the context of so-called Simplified Model Spectra (SMS), we investigate to what extent the supersymmetry searches at Run 1 of the LHC constrain the sneutrino-LSP scenario. Moreover, we discuss the most relevant topologies for which no SMS results are provided by the experimental collabora…
