Tensor models are generalizations of matrix models and as such, it is a natural question to ask whether they satisfy some form of the topological recursion. The world of unitary-invariant observables is however much richer in tensor models than in matrix models. It is therefore a priori unclear which set of observables could satisfy the topological recursion. Such a set of observables was identified a few years ago in the context of the quartic melonic model by the first author and Dartois. It was shown to satisfy an extension of the topological recursion introduced by Borot and called the blobbed topological recursion. Here we show that this set of observables is present in arbitrary tensor models which have non-vanishing couplings for the quartic melonic interactions. It satisfies the blobbed topological recursion in a universal way, i.e. independently of the choices of the other interactions. In combinatorial terms, the correlation functions describe stuffed maps with colored boundary components. The specifics of the model only appear in the generating functions of the stuffings and the blobbed topological recursion only requires them to have well-defined $1/N$ expansions. The spectral curve is a disjoint union of Gaussian spectral curves, with the cylinder function receiving an additional holomorphic part. This result is achieved via a perturbative rewriting of tensor models as multi-matrix models due to the first author, Lionni and Rivasseau. It is then possible to formally integrate all degrees of freedom except those which enter the topological recursion, meaning interpreting the Feynman graphs as stuffed maps. We further provide new expressions to relate the expectations of $U(N)^d$-invariant observables on the tensor and matrix sides.

In this paper, we discuss the properties of the generating functions of spin Hurwitz numbers. In particular, for spin Hurwitz numbers with arbitrary ramification profiles, we construct the weighed sums which are given by Orlov's hypergeometric solutions of the 2-component BKP hierarchy. We derive the closed algebraic formulas for the correlation functions associated with these tau-functions, and under reasonable analytical assumptions we prove the loop equations (the blobbed topological recursion). Finally, we prove a version of topological recursion for the spin Hurwitz numbers with the spin …
In this paper we continue the perturbative analysis of the quartic Kontsevich model. We investigate meromorphic functions $Ω^{(0)}_m$ with $m=1,2$, that obey blobbed topological recursion. We calculate their expansions and check their equivalence to sums of ribbon graph weights, which are obtained with common methods of perturbation theory in QFT, up to fifth order in the coupling using Mathematica. Furthermore, we provide a catalog of permutation pairs $(α,σ)$, which encode all 5660 vacuum ribbon graphs that contribute to the free energy $\mathcal{F}^{(g)}$ with genus $g\geq 0$ up to fifth or…
Random tensor models are generalizations of random matrix models which admit $1/N$ expansions. In this article we show that the topological recursion, a modern approach to matrix models which solves the loop equations at all orders, is also satisfied in some tensor models. While it is obvious in some tensor models which are matrix models in disguise, it is far from clear that it can be applied to others. Here we focus on melonic interactions for which the models are best understood, and further restrict to the quartic case. Then Hubbard-Stratonovich transformation maps the tensor model to a mu…
In this text we review a few structural properties of matrix models that should at least partly generalize to random tensor models. We review some aspects of the loop equations for matrix models and their algebraic counterpart for tensor models. Despite the generic title of this review, we, in particular, invoke the Topological Recursion. We explain its appearance in matrix models. Then we state that a family of tensor models provides a natural example which satisfies a version of the most general form of the topological recursion, named the blobbed topological recursion. We discuss the diffic…
The analogue of Kontsevich's matrix Airy function, with the cubic potential $\operatorname{Tr}\big(Φ^3\big)$ replaced by a quartic term $\operatorname{Tr}\big(Φ^4\big)$ with the same covariance, provides a toy model for quantum field theory in which all correlation functions can be computed exactly and explicitly. In this paper we show that distinguished polynomials of correlation functions, themselves given by quickly growing series of Feynman ribbon graphs, sum up to much simpler and highly structured expressions. These expressions are deeply connected with meromorphic forms conjectured to o…
The BCFW recursion relation allows to calculate tree-level scattering amplitudes in generalized Yang-Mills theory and, in particular, four-particle amplitudes for the production rate of non-Abelian tensor gauge bosons of arbitrary high spin in the fusion of two gluons. The consistency of the calculations in different kinematical channels is fulfilled when all dimensionless cubic coupling constants between vector bosons (gluons) and high spin non-Abelian tensor gauge bosons are equal to the Yang-Mills coupling constant. There are no high derivative cubic vertices in the generalized Yang-Mills t…
We consider correlation functions of the stress-tensor or a conserved current in AdS_{d+1}/CFT_d computed using the Hilbert or the Yang-Mills action in the bulk. We introduce new recursion relations to compute these correlators at tree level. These relations have an advantage over the BCFW-like relations described in arXiv:1102.4724 and arXiv:1011.0780 because they can be used in all dimensions including d=3. We also introduce a new method of extracting flat-space S-matrix elements from AdS/CFT correlators in momentum space. We show that the (d+1)-dimensional flat-space amplitude of gravitons …
We determine the retarded and advanced Green's functions and Hadamard parametrices in curved spacetimes for linearized massive and massless gauge bosons and linearized Einstein gravity with a cosmological constant in general linear covariant gauges. These vector and tensor parametrices contain additional singular terms compared with their Feynman/de Donder-gauge counterpart. We also give explicit recursion relations for the Hadamard coefficients, and indicate their generalization to $n$ dimensions. Furthermore, we express the divergence and trace of the vector and tensor Green's functions in t…

We discuss the notion of renormalization group (RG) completion of non-Gaussian Lagrangians and its treatment within the framework of Bogoliubov-Zimmermann theory in application to the matrix and tensor models. With the example of the simplest non-trivial RGB tensor theory (Aristotelian rainbow), we introduce a few methods, which allow one to connect calculations in the tensor models to those in the matrix models. As a byproduct, we obtain some new factorization formulas and sum rules for the Gaussian correlators in the Hermitian and complex matrix theories, square and rectangular. These sum ru…
We show that a generalization of the BCFW recursion relations gives a new and efficient method of computing correlation functions of the stress tensor or conserved currents in conformal field theories with an AdS_p dual, for p > 4, in the limit where the bulk theory is approximated by tree-level Yang-Mills or gravity. In supersymmetric theories, additional correlators of operators that live in the same multiplet as a conserved current or stress tensor can be computed by these means.
We compute four point functions of the stress tensor and conserved currents in AdS_4/CFT_3 using bulk perturbation theory. We work at treel level in the bulk theory, which we take to be either pure gravity or Yang Mills theory in AdS. We bypass the tedious evaluation of Witten diagrams using recently developed recursion relations for these correlators. In this approach, the four point function is obtained as the sum of residues of a rational function at easily identifiable poles. We write down an explicit formula for the four point correlator with arbitrary external helicities and momenta. We …
Tensor field theory (TFT) focuses on quantum field theory aspects of random tensor models, a quantum-gravity-motivated generalisation of random matrix models. The TFT correlation functions have been shown to be classified by graphs that describe the geometry of the boundary states, the so-called boundary graphs. These graphs can be disconnected, although the correlation functions are themselves connected. In a recent work, the Schwinger-Dyson equations for an arbitrary albeit connected boundary were obtained. Here, we introduce the multivariable graph calculus in order to derive the missing eq…
In this paper, we investigate the correlation functions of the conformal field theory (CFT) with the $T\bar{T}$ deformation on torus in terms of perturbative CFT approach, which is the extension of the previous investigations on correlation functions defined on a plane. We systematically obtain the first order correction to the correlation functions of the CFTs with $T\bar{T}$ deformation in both operator formalism and path integral language. As a consistency check, we compute the deformed partition function, namely the zero-point correlation function, up to the first order, which is consisten…
Scattering amplitudes in quantum field theory are independent of the field parameterization, which has a natural geometric interpretation as a form of `coordinate invariance.' Amplitudes can be expressed in terms of Riemannian curvature tensors, which makes the covariance of amplitudes under non-derivative field redefinitions manifest. We present a generalized geometric framework that extends this manifest covariance to $all$ allowed field redefinitions. Amplitudes satisfy a recursion relation that closely resembles the application of covariant derivatives to increase the rank of a tensor. Thi…
