In this paper, we investigate the Hecke operator at p = 5 and show that the upper minors of the matrix have non zero corank and, interestingly, follow the same ghost pattern in the Ghost conjecture of Bergdall and Pollack. Due to this facts, we conjecture that the slope of Hecke action in this case can be computed using an appropriate variant of ghost series. Assume this result, we achieve an upper bound for the slopes that is similar to the Gouvea's (k-1)/(p+1) conjecture.
In this paper, we apply the ratio conjecture of $L$-functions to derive the lower order terms of the $1$-level density of the low-lying zeros of a family quadratic Hecke $L$-functions in the Gaussian field. Up to the first lower order term, we show that our result is consistent with that obtained from previous work under the generalized Riemann hypothesis, when the Fourier transforms of the test functions are supported in $(-2, 2)$.
The ghost conjecture, formulated by this article's authors, predicts the list of p-adic valuations of the non-zero p-th eigenvalues ("slopes") for overconvergent p-adic modular eigenforms in terms of the Newton polygon of an easy-to-describe power series (the "ghost series"). The prediction is restricted to eigenforms whose Galois representation modulo p is reducible on a decomposition group at p. It has been discovered, however, that the conjecture is not formulated correctly. Here we explain the issue and propose a salvage.
We consider the problem of defining an action of Hecke operators on the coherent cohomology of certain integral models of Shimura varieties. We formulate a general conjecture describing which Hecke operators should act integrally and solve the conjecture in certain cases. As a consequence, we obtain $p$-adic estimates of Satake parameters of certain non-regular self dual automorphic representations of $\mathrm{GL}_n$.

We study the derived Hecke action at $p$ on the ordinary $p$-adic cohomology of arithmetic subgroups of semisimple groups $\mathrm G(\mathbb Q)$, i.e., we study the derived version of Hida's theory for ordinary Hecke algebras. This is the analog at $\ell=p$ of derived Hecke actions studied by Venkatesh in the tame case. We show that properties of the derived Hecke action at $p$ are related to deep conjectures in Galois cohomology which are higher analogs of the classical Leopoldt conjecture.
In a previous article, we constructed an entire power series over $p$-adic weight space (the 'ghost series') and conjectured, in the $Γ_0(N)$-regular case, that this series encodes the slopes of overconvergent modular forms of any $p$-adic weight. In this paper, we construct 'abstract ghost series' which can be associated to various natural subspaces of overconvergent modular forms. This abstraction allows us to generalize our conjecture to, for example, the case of slopes of overconvergent modular forms with a fixed residual representation that is locally reducible at $p$. Ample numerical evi…
The Hecke orbit conjecture asserts that every prime-to-$p$ Hecke orbit in a Shimura variety is dense in the central leaf containing it. In this paper, we prove the conjecture for certain irreducible components of Newton strata in Shimura varieties of PEL type A and C, when $p$ is an unramified prime of good reduction. Our approach generalizes Chai and Oort's method for Siegel modular varieties.
We prove some cases of the Zilber-Pink conjecture on unlikely intersections in Shimura varieties. Firstly, we prove that the Zilber-Pink conjecture holds for intersections between a curve and the union of the Hecke translates of a fixed special subvariety, conditional on arithmetic conjectures. Secondly, we prove the conjecture unconditionally for intersections between a curve and the union of Hecke correspondences on the moduli space of principally polarised abelian varieties, subject to some technical hypotheses. This generalises results of Habegger and Pila on the Zilber-Pink conjecture for…
We consider the analogue of the quantum unique ergodicity conjecture for holomorphic Hecke eigenforms on compact arithmetic hyperbolic surfaces. We show that this conjecture follows from nontrivial bounds for Hecke eigenvalues summed over quadratic progressions. Our reduction provides an analogue for the compact case of a criterion established by Luo--Sarnak for the case of the non-compact modular surface. The novelty is that known proofs of such criteria have depended crucially upon Fourier expansions, which are not available in the compact case. Unconditionally, we establish a twisted varian…
We prove an upper bound for the fifth moment of Hecke L-functions associated to holomorphic Hecke cusp forms of full level and weight k in a dyadic interval K < k < 2K, as K tends to infinity. The bound is sharp on Selberg's eigenvalue conjecture.
The ghost conjecture is first provided by Bergdall and Pollack in [BP-1,BP-2] to study the Up-slopes of spaces of modular forms, which, so far, has already brought plenty of important results. The local version of this conjecture under genericity condition has been solved by Liu-Truong-Xiao-Zhao in [LTXZ-1, LTXZ-2]. In the current paper, we prove a necessary and sufficient condition for a sequence of local ghost series to satisfy that their product has the same Newton polygon to the ghost series build from the direct sum of their associated modules. That answers a common question asked in both…
