The Bayesian neural network (BNN) has been applied to evaluate and predict the nuclear data. However, how to provide physics guides in BNN is a key but an open question. In this work, the case study on giant dipole resonance (GDR) energy is presented to illustrate the effectiveness and maneuverability of the method to provide physics guides in BNN from input layer. The Spearman's correlation coefficients are applied to assess the statistical dependence between nuclear properties in the ground state and the GDR energies. Then the optimal ground-state properties are employed as the input layer in the BNN for evaluating and predicting the GDR energies. Those selected ground-state properties actively contributes to reduce the predicted errors and avoid the risk of the non-physics divergence. This work gives a demonstration to find effects of the GDR energy by using the BNN without the physics motivated model, which may be helpful for discovering physics effects from the complex nuclear data.
The branching ratios for E1 transitions between the spin-dipole (SD) and Gamow-Teller (GT) giant resonances in $^{90}$Nb and $^{208}$Pb are evaluated. Assuming the main GT-state has the wave function close to that for the "ideal" GT-state, we reduced the problem to calculate the SD and GT strength functions. These strength functions are evaluated within an extended continuum-RPA approach.
The effects of ground-state correlations on the damping of isovector giant dipole resonances in $LS$ closed shell nuclei $^{16}$O and $^{40}$Ca are studied using extended random-phase-approximation (RPA) approaches derived from the time-dependent density-matrix theory. It is pointed out that unconventional two-body amplitudes of one particle--three hole and three particle--one hole types which are neglected in most extended RPA theories play an important role in the fragmentation of isovector dipole strength.
The isovector giant dipole resonance (IVGDR) in even-even Nd isotopes from A=124 to A=160 is studied in the framework of time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) with Skyrme forces SkI3, SVbas, SLy5 and SLy6. The dipole strength is calculated and compared with the experimental data on photon absorption cross section $σ_γ$. An overall agreement between them is obtained. The dipole strengths in $ ^{124-140}\text{Nd}$ and $^{152-160}\text{Nd} $ are predicted. In addition, the correlation between the quadrupole deformation parameter $β_{2}$ and the splitting $ΔE/ \bar{E}_{m}$ of the giant dipole resonan…
Nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) for neutrinoless double beta decays (DBDs) are required for studying neutrino physics beyond the standard model by DBD. The experimental spin-dipole (SD) giant resonance energy and the SD strength are shown for the first time to be closely related to the DBD-NME, and are used for studying the spin-isospin correlation and the quenching of the axial-vector coupling. So they are used to help the theoretical model calculation of the DBD-NME.
We evaluate uncertainty of peak energy of giant dipole resonance (GDR), propagated from uncertainty of parameters of Skyrme interaction. The Monte Carlo calculation of the random phase approximation using randomized Skyrme parameters is performed. Under the condition that the correlations between each of the Skyrme parameters is considered, the GDR peak energy has the uncertainty of $\sim$ 1 MeV irrespective of nuclear mass and is strongly correlated with the Skyrme parameters, in present calculations. This serves a guide for a new parametrization of effective interactions.
The occurrence of the low-lying charge-exchange non spin-flip dipole modes below the giant resonance in neutron-rich nuclei is predicted on the basis of nuclear density functional theory. The ground and excited states are described in the framework of the self-consistent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov and the proton-neutron quasiparticle-random-phase approximation employing a Skyrme-type energy density functional. The model calculations are performed for the spherical neutron-rich Ca, Ni, and Sn isotopes. It is found that the low-lying states appear sensitively to the shell structure associated with …
In this work, we have studied the isovector giant dipole resonance (IVGDR) in even-even Sm isotopes within time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) with four Skyrme forces SLy6, SVbas, SLy5 and UNEDF1. The approach we have followed is somewhat similar to the one we did in our previous work in the region of Neodymium (Nd, Z=60) [\href{https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1402-4896/ab73d8}{Physica Scripta (2020)}]. We have calculated the dipole strength of $ ^{128-164}\text{Sm}$, and compared with the available experimental data. An overall agreement between them is obtained. The dipole strength…

Pygmy and giant electric dipole responses of medium-heavy nuclei in a self-consistent Random Phase Approximation approach with finite-range interaction
The remaining uncertainties of isovector nuclear interactions call for reliable experimental measurements of isovector probes in finite nuclei. Based on the Bayesian analysis, although the neutron-skin thickness data or the isovector giant dipole resonance data in $^{208}$Pb can constrain only one isovector interaction parameter, correlations between other parameters are built. Using combined data of both the neutron-skin thickness and the isovector giant dipole resonance helps to constrain significantly all isovector interaction parameters, thus serves as a useful way in the future analysis.
We develop a new lattice Hamiltonian method for solving the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck (BUU) equation. Adopting the stochastic approach to treat the collision term and using the GPU parallel computing to carry out the calculations allows for a rather high accuracy in evaluating the collision term, especially its Pauli blocking, leading thus to a new level of precision in solving the BUU equation. Applying this lattice BUU method to study the width of giant dipole resonance (GDR) in nuclei, where the accurate treatment of the collision term is crucial, we find that the obtained GDR width of $^…
Giant dipole resonance (GDR) is one of the fundamental collective excitation modes in nucleus. Continuous efforts have been made to the evaluation of GDR key parameters in different nuclear data libraries. We introduced multitask learning (MTL) approach to learn and reproduce the evaluated experimental data of GDR key parameters, including both GDR energies and widths. Compared to the theoretical GDR parameters in RIPL-3 library, the accuracies of MTL approach are almost doubled for 129 nuclei with experimental data. The significant improvement is largely due to the right classification of uni…
Microscopic description of the pygmy and giant electric dipole resonances in stable Ca isotopes
