We establish the global well-posedness of the 3D fractional Boussinesq-Coriolis system with stratification in a framework of Fourier type, namely spaces of Fourier-Besov type with underlying space being Morrey spaces (FBM-spaces, for short). Under suitable conditions and rescaled density fluctuation, the result is uniform with respect to the Coriolis and stratification parameters. We cover the critical case of the dissipation, namely half-Laplacian, in which the nonlocal dissipation has the same differential order as the nonlinearity and balances critically the scaling of the quadratic nonlinearities. As a byproduct, considering trivial initial temperature and null stratification, we also obtain well-posed results in FBM-spaces for the fractional Navier-Stokes-Coriolis system as well as for the Navier-Stokes equations with critical dissipation. Moreover, since small conditions are taken in the weak norm of FBM-spaces, we can consider some initial data with arbitrarily large $H^{s}$-norms, $s\geq0$.
We are concerned with the $3$D-Navier-Stokes equations with Coriolis force. Existence and uniqueness of global solutions in homogeneous Besov spaces are obtained for large speed of rotation. In the critical case of the regularity, we consider a suitable initial data class whose definition is based on the Stokes-Coriolis semigroup and Besov spaces. Moreover, we analyze the asymptotic behavior of solutions in that setting as the speed of rotation goes to infinity.
In this work we prove the existence of stationary solutions for the tridimensional fractional Navier-Stokes- Coriolis in critical Fourier-Besov spaces. We first deal with the non-stationary fractional Navier-Stokes-Coriolis and in this framework we get the existence of stationary solutions. Also we state a kind of stability of these non-stationary solutions which applied to the stationary case permits to conclude that, under suitable conditions, non-stationary solutions converge to the stationary ones when the time goes to infinity. Finally we establish a relation between the external force an…
We consider the 3D Euler equations with Coriolis force (EC) in the whole space. We show long-time solvability in Besov spaces for high speed of rotation $Ω$ and arbitrary initial data. For that, we obtain $Ω$-uniform estimates and a blow-up criterion of BKM type in our framework. Our initial data class is larger than previous ones considered for (EC) and covers borderline cases of the regularity. The uniqueness of solutions is also discussed.
In this work we prove a global well-posedness result for a tridimensional rescaled Boussinesq system, with positive full viscosity and diffusivity parameters in the framework of critical Fourier-Besov spaces. This rescaled approach permits to know the behaviour of the system according to relations between both the parameters and the initial velocity and temperature; for instance, it is possible to consider, for small enough viscosity and large diffusivity, a large enough critical Fourier-Besov norm for the initial temperature and it is also possible to consider, for small enough diffusivity an…
This paper is concerned with well-posedness of the Boussinesq system. We prove that the $n$ ($n\ge2$) dimensional Boussinesq system is well-psoed for small initial data $(\vec{u}_0,θ_0)$ ($\nabla\cdot\vec{u}_0=0$) either in $({B}^{-1}_{\infty,1}\cap{B^{-1,1}_{\infty,\infty}})\times{B}^{-1}_{p,r}$ or in ${B^{-1,1}_{\infty,\infty}}\times{B}^{-1,ε}_{p,\infty}$ if $r\in[1,\infty]$, $ε>0$ and $p\in(\frac{n}{2},\infty)$, where $B^{s,ε}_{p,q}$ ($s\in\mathbb{R}$, $1\leq p,q\leq\infty$, $ε>0$) is the logarithmically modified Besov space to the standard Besov space $B^{s}_{p,q}$. We also prove that this…
This paper is devoted to the global existence and uniqueness results for the three-dimensional Boussinesq system with axisymmetric initial data $v^{0}{\in}B_{2,1}^{5/2}(\RR^3)$ and$ $ρ^{0}{\in}B_{2,1}^{1/2}(\RR^3)\cap L^{p}(\RR^3)$ with $p>6.$ This system couples the incompressible Euler equations with a transport-diffusion equation governing the density. In this case the Beale-Kato-Majda criterion is not known to be valid and to circumvent this difficulty we use in a crucial way some geometric properties of the vorticity.
The main issue addressed in this paper concerns an extension of a result by Z. Zhang who proved, in the context of the homogeneous Besov space $\dot{B}_{\infty ,\infty }^{-1}(\mathbb{R}% ^{3})$, that, if the solution of the Boussinesq equation (\ref% {eq1.1}) below (starting with an initial data in $H^{2}$) is such that $% (\nabla u,\nabla θ)\in L^{2}\left( 0,T;\dot{B}_{\infty ,\infty }^{-1}(% \mathbb{R}^{3})\right)$, then the solution remains smooth forever after $T$. In this contribution, we prove the same result for weak solutions just by assuming the condition on the velocity $u$ and not o…
This paper is devoted to the study of the long wave approximation for water waves under the influence of the gravity and a Coriolis forcing. We start by deriving a generalization of the Boussinesq equations in 1D (in space) and we rigorously justify them as an asymptotic model of the water waves equations. These new Boussinesq equations are not the classical Boussinesq equations. A new term due to the vorticity and the Coriolis forcing appears that can not be neglected. Then, we study the Boussinesq regime and we derive and fully justify different asymptotic models when the bottom is flat : a …

We prove local-in-time existence and uniqueness of an inviscid Boussinesq-type system. We assume the density equation contains nonzero diffusion and that our initial vorticity and density belong to a space of borderline Besov type.
We prove the norm inflation phenomena for the Boussinesq system on $\mathbb T^3$. For arbitrarily small initial data $(u_0,ρ_0)$ in the negative-order Besov spaces $\dot{B}^{-1}_{\infty, \infty} \times \dot{B}^{-1}_{\infty, \infty}$, the solution can become arbitrarily large in a short time. Such largeness can be detected in $ρ$ in Besov spaces of any negative order: $\dot{B}^{-s}_{\infty, \infty}$ for any $s>0$. Notice that our initial data space is scaling critical for $u$ and is scaling subcritical for $ρ$.
We derive a semi-geostrophic variational balance model for the three-dimensional Euler--Boussinesq equations on the non-traditional $f$-plane under the rigid lid approximation. The model is obtained by a small Rossby number expansion in the Hamilton principle, with no other approximations made. We allow for a fully non-hydrostatic flow and do not neglect the horizontal components of the Coriolis parameter, i.e., we do not make the so-called "traditional approximation". The resulting balance models have the same structure as the "$L_1$ balance model" for the primitive equations: a kinematic bal…
In this paper, we construct a class of global large solution to the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with the Coriolis force in critical Fourier-Besov space $\dot{FB}^{2-\frac{3}{p}}_{p,r}(\mathbb{R}^3)$. In fact, our choice of special initial data $u_0$ can be arbitrarily large in $\dot{FB}^{s}_{p,r}(\mathbb{R}^3)$ for any $s\in\mathbb{R}$ and $1\leq p,r\leq \infty$.
In this paper, we present a construction of $u_{0}\in B^{1}_{\infty,1}$ and get the local ill-posedness for the rotation Camassa-Holm equation modelling the equatorial water waves with the weak Coriolis effect by proving the norm inflation.
In this paper we obtain a result about the global existence of weak solutions for the $d$-dimensional Bussinesq system, with viscosity dependent on temperature. The initial temperature is just supposed to be bounded, while the initial velocity belongs to some critical Besov Space, invariant to the scaling of this system. We suppose the viscosity close enough to a positive constant, and the $L^\infty$ norm of their difference plus the Besov norm of the horizontal component of the initial velocity is supposed to be exponentially small with respect to the vertical component of the initial velocit…
We consider the d-dimensional Boussinesq system defined on a sufficiently smooth bounded domain, with homogeneous boundary conditions, and subject to external sources, assumed to cause instability. The initial conditions for both fluid and heat equations are taken of low regularity. We then seek to uniformly stabilize such Boussinesq system in the vicinity of an unstable equilibrium pair, in the critical setting of correspondingly low regularity spaces, by means of explicitly constructed, feedback controls, which are localized on an arbitrarily small interior subdomain. In addition, they will …
In this paper, we first establish the local well-posedness and continuous dependence for the rotation Camassa-Holm equation modelling the equatorial water waves with the weak Coriolis effect in nonhomogeneous Besov spaces $B^s_{p,r}$ with $s>1+1/p$ or $s=1+1/p,\ p\in[1,+\infty),\ r=1$ by a new way: the compactness argument and Lagrangian coordinate transformation, which removes the index constraint $s>3/2$ and improves our previous work \cite{guoy1}. Then, we prove the solution is not uniformly continuous dependence on the initial data in both supercritical and critical Besov spaces.
We consider the d-dimensional Boussinesq system defined on a sufficiently smooth bounded domain, and subject to a pair $\{ v, \boldsymbol{u} \}$ of controls localized on $\{ \widetildeΓ, ω\}$. Here, $v$ is a scalar Dirichlet boundary control for the thermal equation, acting on an arbitrary small connected portion $\widetildeΓ$ of the boundary $Γ= \partial Ω$. Instead, $\boldsymbol{u}$ is a $d$-dimensional internal control for the fluid equation acting on an arbitrary small collar $ω$ supported by $\widetildeΓ$ (Fig 1). The initial conditions for both fluid and heat equations are taken of low r…
We prove a Prodi-Serrin-type global regularity condition for the three-dimensional Magnetohydrodynamic-Boussinesq system (3D MHD-Boussinesq) without thermal diffusion, in terms of only two velocity and two magnetic components. This is the first Prodi-Serrin-type criterion for a hydrodynamic system which is not fully dissipative, and indicates that such an approach may be successful on other systems. In addition, we provide a constructive proof of the local well-posedness of solutions to the fully dissipative 3D MHD-Boussinesq system, and also the fully inviscid, irresistive, non-diffusive MHD-…
We address a question concerning the issue of existence to a Boussinesq type system with a heat source. The problem is studied in the whole two dimensional plane and the heat source is a measure transported by the flow. For arbitrary initial data, we prove global in time existence of unique regular solutions. Measure being a heat source limits regularity of constructing solutions and make us work in a non-standard framework of inhomogeneous Besov spaces of the $L^\infty(0,T;B^s_{p,\infty})$-type. Application of the Lagrangian coordinates yields uniqueness omitting difficulties with comparison …
This paper is devoted to the study of the Cauchy problem for the Boussinesq system with partial viscosity in dimension $N\geq3.$ First we prove a global existence result for data in Lorentz spaces satisfying a smallness condition which is at the scaling of the equations. Second, we get a uniqueness result in Besov spaces with {\it negative} indices of regularity (despite the fact that there is no smoothing effect on the temperature). The proof relies on a priori estimates with loss of regularity for the nonstationary Stokes system with convection. As a corollary, we obtain a global existence a…
The two-dimensional (2D) incompressible Euler equations have been thoroughly investigated and the resolution of the global (in time) existence and uniqueness issue is currently in a satisfactory status. In contrast, the global regularity problem concerning the 2D inviscid Boussinesq equations remains widely open. In an attempt to understand this problem, we examine the damped 2D Boussinesq equations and study how damping affects the regularity of solutions. Since the damping effect is insufficient in overcoming the difficulty due to the "vortex stretching", we seek unique global small solution…
In this paper we address the temperature patch problem of the 2D viscous Boussinesq system without heat diffusion term. The temperature satisfies the transport equation and the initial data of temperature is given in the form of non-constant patch, usually called the temperature front initial data. Introducing a good unknown and applying the method of striated estimates, we prove that our partially viscous Boussinesq system admits a unique global regular solution and the initial $C^{k,γ}$ and $W^{2,\infty}$ regularity of the temperature front boundary with $k\in \mathbb{Z}^+ = \{1,2,\cdots\}$ …
We establish global existence and uniqueness theorems for the two-dimensional non-diffusive Boussinesq system with viscosity only in the horizontal direction, which arises in Ocean dynamics. This work improves the global well-posedness results established recently by R. Danchin and M. Paicu for the Boussinesq system with anisotropic viscosity and zero diffusion. Although we follow some of their ideas, in proving the uniqueness result, we have used an alternative approach by writing the transported temperature (density) as $θ= Δξ$ and adapting the techniques of V. Yudovich for the 2D incompress…
