We compute projective dimension of translated simple modules in the regular block of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ in terms of Kazhdan-Lusztig combinatorics. This allows us to determine which projectives can appear at the last step of a minimal projective resolution for a translated simple module, confirming a conjecture by Johan Kåhrström. We also derive some inequalities, in terms of Lusztig's $\mathbf{a}$-function, for possible degrees in which the top (or socle) of a translated simple module can live. Finally, we relate Kostant's problem with decomposability and isomorphism of translated simple modules, addressing yet another conjecture by Johan Kåhrström.
This paper explores various homological regularity phenomena (in the sense of Auslander) in category $\mathcal{O}$ and its several variations and generalizations. Additionally, we address the problem of determining projective dimension of twisted and shuffled projective and tilting modules.
We demonstrate equivalence between two definitions of lower finite highest weight categories. We also show that, in the presence of a duality, a lower finite highest weight structure on a category is unique. Finally, we give a new proof for the fact that any abelian category is extension full in its ind-completion.
We study the homological algebra in the category $\mathcal{P}_p$ of strict polynomial functors of degree $p$ over a field of positive characteristic $p$. We determine the decomposition matrix of our category and we calculate the Ext-groups between functors important from the point of view of representation theory. Our results include computations of the Ext-algebras of simple functors and Schur functors. We observe that the category $\mathcal{P}_p$ has a Kazhdan-Lusztig theory and we show that the DG algebras computing the Ext-algebras for simple functors and Schur functors are formal. These l…
In this paper, let $(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B},\mathcal{C})$ be a recollement of extriangulated categories. We introduce the global dimension and extension dimension of extriangulated categories, and give some upper bounds of global dimensions (resp. extension dimensions) of the categories involved in $(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B},\mathcal{C})$, which give a simultaneous generalization of some results in the recollement of abelian categories and triangulated categories.
We show that, up to Morita equivalence, any finite-dimensional algebra with a suitable homological system, admits an exact Borel subalgebra. This generalizes a theorem by Koenig, Külshammer and Ovsienko, which holds for quasi-hereditary algebras. Our proof follows the same general scheme proposed by these authors, in a more general context: we associate a differential graded tensor algebra with relations, using the structure of $A_{\infty}-$algebra of a suitable Yoneda algebra, and use its category of modules to describe the category of filtered modules associated to the given homological syst…
For classical Lie superalgebras of type I, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for a Verma supermodule $Δ(λ)$ to be such that every non-zero homomorphism from another Verma supermodule to $Δ(λ)$ is injective. This is applied to describe the socle of the cokernel of an inclusion of Verma supermodules over the periplectic Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{pe}(n)$ and, furthermore, to reduce the problem of description of $\mathrm{Ext}^1_{\mathcal O}(L(μ),Δ(λ))$ for $\mathfrak{pe}(n)$ to the similar problem for the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}(n)$. Additionally, we study the projective and inj…
I give an elementary proof of the known fact that the category $\mathfrak{F} \left( Δ\right)$ of $Δ-$filtered modules, associated to a given finite homological system $\left( Δ; Ω, \leq \right) ,$ is closed under direct summands.
Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field and $Φ$ a finite dimensional $k$-algebra. The universal localization $Φ\rightarrow Φ_\mathcal{S}$ of $Φ$ with respect to a set of morphisms between finitely generated projective $Φ$-modules $\mathcal{S}$ always exists. Moreover, when $Φ$ is hereditary, Krause and Šťovíček proved that the universal localizations of $Φ$ are in bijective correspondence with various natural structures. Taking inspiration from an alternative definition of universal localizations involving a triangulated subcategory of $\mathcal{D}^{\text{perf}}(Φ)$, we introduce a higher ana…
For a recollement $(\mathcal{D}B,\mathcal{D}A,\mathcal{D}C)$ of derived categories of algebras, we investigate when the functor $j^*:\mathcal{D}A\rightarrow\mathcal{D}C$ is an eventually homological isomorphism. In this context, we compare the algebras $A$ and $C$ with respect to Gorensteinness, singularity categories and the finite generation condition Fg for the Hochschild cohomology. The results are applied to stratifying ideals, triangular matrix algebras and derived discrete algebras.
We investigate the role of gentle algebras in higher homological algebra. In the first part of the paper, we show that if the module category of a gentle algebra $Λ$ contains a $d$-cluster tilting subcategory for some $d \geq 2$, then $Λ$ is a radical square zero Nakayama algebra. This gives a complete classification of weakly $d$-representation finite gentle algebras. In the second part, we use a geometric model of the derived category to prove a similar result in the triangulated setup. More precisely, we show that if $\mathcal{D}^b(Λ)$ contains a $d$-cluster tilting subcategory that is clos…
In this paper, we investigate properties of the bounded derived category of finite dimensional modules over a gentle or skew-gentle algebra. We show that the Rouquier dimension of the derived category of such an algebra is at most one. Using this result, we prove that the Rouquier dimension of an arbitrary tame projective curve is equal to one, too. Finally, we elaborate the classification of indecomposable objects of the (possibly unbounded) homotopy category of projective modules of a gentle algebra.
Detailed proof of a theorem on coincidence of homological dimensions of Fréchet algebras of smooth functions on a manifold with the dimension of the manifold
We prove homological mirror symmetry for the universal centralizer $J_G$ (a.k.a the Toda space), associated to any complex reductive Lie group $G$. The A-side is a partially wrapped Fukaya category on $J_G$, and the B-side is the category of coherent sheaves on the categorical quotient of a dual maximal torus by the Weyl group action (with some modification if the center of $G$ is not connected).
Let $\mathscr{C}$ be a 2-Calabi-Yau triangulated category, and let $\mathscr{T}$ be a cluster tilting subcategory of $\mathscr{C}$. An important result from Dehy and Keller tells us that a rigid object $c \in \mathscr{C}$ is uniquely defined by its index with respect to $\mathscr{T}$. The notion of triangulated categories extends to the notion of $(d+2)$-angulated categories. Thanks to a paper by Oppermann and Thomas, we now have a definition for cluster tilting subcategories in higher dimensions. This paper proves that under a technical assumption, an indecomposable object in a $(d+2)$-angula…
ABSTRACT. Let $Φ$ be a finite dimensional $K$-algebra and let $\mathscr{C} = \textrm{mod}\: Φ$ be the abelian category of finitely generated right $Φ$-modules. In their 1985 paper ``Modules determined by their composition factors'', Auslander and Reiten showed that under certain conditions modules in $\textrm{mod}\: Φ$ are determined by their composition factors, and show an important formula related to the Auslander-Reiten translation. Let $\mathscr{T}$ be a $d$-cluster tilting subcategory of $\mathscr{C}$, which by definition is also $d$-abelian. In this paper we will define the Grothendieck…
Let $(\mathcal{C},\mathbb{E},\mathfrak{s})$ be an extriangulated category with a proper class $ξ$ of $\mathbb{E}$-triangles. The authors introduced and studied $ξ$-$\mathcal{G}$projective and $ξ$-$\mathcal{G}$injective in \cite{HZZ}. In this paper, we discuss Gorenstein homological dimensions for extriangulated categories. More precisely, we first give some characterizations of $ξ$-$\mathcal{G}$projective dimension by using derived functors on $\mathcal{C}$. Second, let $\mathcal{P}(ξ)$ (resp. $\mathcal{I}(ξ)$) be a generating (resp. cogenerating) subcategory of $\mathcal{C}$. We show that the…
Let $n$ be a nonnegative integer. For each composition $α$ of $n$, Berg $\textit{et al.}$ introduced a cyclic indecomposable $H_n(0)$-module $\mathcal{V}_α$ with a dual immaculate quasisymmetric function as the image of the quasisymmetric characteristic. In this paper, we study $\mathcal{V}_α$'s from the homological viewpoint. To be precise, we construct a minimal projective presentation of $\mathcal{V}_α$ and a minimal injective presentation of $\mathcal{V}_α$ as well. Using them, we compute ${\rm Ext}^1_{H_n(0)}(\mathcal{V}_α, {\bf F}_β)$ and ${\rm Ext}^1_{H_n(0)}( {\bf F}_β, \mathcal{V}_α)$…
We compare the homological support and tensor triangular support for `big' objects in a rigidly-compactly generated tensor triangulated category. We prove that the comparison map from the homological spectrum to the tensor triangular spectrum is a bijection and that the two notions of support coincide whenever the category is stratified, extending work of Balmer. Moreover, we clarify the relations between salient properties of support functions and exhibit counter-examples highlighting the differences between homological and tensor triangular support.
For any ring R the category of monomorphisms is a full subcategory of the morphsim category over R, where the latter is equivalent to the module category of the triangular matrix ring with entries the ring R. In this work, we consider the monomorphism category as a full subcategory of the module category over the Morita ring with all entries the ring R and zero bimodule homomorphisms. This approach provides an interesting link between Morita rings and monomorphism categories. The aim of this paper is two-fold. First, we construct Gorenstein-projective modules over Morita rings with zero bimodu…
Let $G$ be a split connected reductive group defined over a nonarchimedean local field of residual characteristic $p$, and let $\mathcal{H}$ be the pro-$p$-Iwahori--Hecke algebra associated to a fixed choice of pro-$p$-Iwahori subgroup. We explore projective resolutions of simple right $\mathcal{H}$-modules. In particular, subject to a mild condition on $p$, we give a classification of simple right $\mathcal{H}$-modules of finite projective dimension, and consequently show that "most" simple modules have infinite projective dimension.
Using Auroux's description of Fukaya categories of symmetric products of punctured surfaces, we compute the partially wrapped Fukaya category of the complement of $k+1$ generic hyperplanes in $\mathbb{CP}^n$, for $k \geq n$, with respect to certain stops in terms of the endomorphism algebra of a generating set of objects. The stops are chosen so that the resulting algebra is formal. In the case of the complement of $(n+2)$-generic hyperplanes in $\mathbb{C}P^n$ ($n$-dimensional pair-of-pants), we show that our partial wrapped Fukaya category is equivalent to a certain categorical resolution of…
We prove homological mirror symmetry for the universal centralizer $J_G$ (a.k.a Toda space), associated to any complex semisimple Lie group $G$. The A-side is a partially wrapped Fukaya category on $J_G$, and the B-side is the category of coherent sheaves on the categorical quotient of a dual maximal torus by the Weyl group action (with some modification if $G$ has a nontrivial center). This is the first and the main part of a two-part series, dealing with $G$ of adjoint type. The general case will be proved in the forthcoming second part [Jin2].
In this paper we use a homological approach to obtain upper bounds for a few homological invariants of $FI_G$-modules $V$. These upper bounds are expressed in terms of the generating degree and torsion degree, which measure the top and socle of $V$ under actions of non-invertible morphisms in the category respectively.

In this work, we develop the theory of $k$-idempotent ideals in the setting of dualizing varieties. Several results given previously in \cite{APG} by M. Auslander, M. I. Platzeck, and G. Todorov are extended to this context. Given an ideal $\mathcal{I}$ (which is the trace of a projective module), we construct a canonical recollement which is the analog to a well-known recollement in categories of modules over artin algebras. Moreover, we study the homological properties of the categories involved in such a recollement. Consequently, we find conditions on the ideal $\mathcal{I}$ to obtain quas…
In this largely expository paper we extend properties of the homological duality functor $RHom_{\mathcal H}(-,{\mathcal H})$ where ${\mathcal H}$ is the Hecke algebra of a reductive $p$-adic group, to the case where it is the Hecke algebra of a finite central extension of a reductive $p$-adic group. The most important properties being that $RHom_{\mathcal H}(-,{\mathcal H})$ is concentrated in a single degree for irreducible representations and that it gives rise to Schneider--Stuhler duality for Ext groups (a Serre functor like property). Along the way we also study Grothendieck--Serre dualit…
The purpose of this paper is to give information on the FI-homology of the standard injective cogenerators of the category of FI-modules, where FI is the category of finite sets and injections. Working over a field k of characteristic zero, a full calculation is given in homological degree zero and a conjectural description in higher homological degree. The proof of the main theorem reduces to a calculation in representation theory of the symmetric groups, exploiting the Young orthonormal basis.
