We study homological multiplicities of spherical varieties of reductive group $G$ over a $p$-adic field $F$. Based on Bernstein's decomposition of the category of smooth representations of a $p$-adic group, we introduce a sheaf that measures these multiplicities. Let G be a reductive group over a non-Archimedean local field. Then the canonical functor from the derived category of smooth tempered representations of G to the derived category of all smooth representations of G is fully faithful. Here we consider representations on bornological vector spaces. As a consequence, if V and W are two tempered irreducible representations and if V or W is square-integrable, then Ext_G^n(V,W) vanishes for all n>0. We use this to prove in full generality a formula for the formal dimension of square-integrable representations due to Schneider and Stuhler.

Let $\mathrm G / F$ be a reductive split $p$-adic group and let $\mathrm U$ be the unipotent radical of a Borel subgroup. We study the cohomology with trivial $\mathbb Z_p$-coefficients of the profinite nilpotent group $N = \mathrm U(\mathcal O_F)$ and its Lie algebra $\mathfrak n$, by extending a classical result of Kostant to our integral $p$-adic setup. The techniques used are a combination of results from group theory, algebraic groups and homological algebra.
We use geometry of the wonderful compactification to obtain a new proof of the relation between Deligne-Lusztig (or Alvis-Curtis) duality for $p$-adic groups and the homological duality. This provides a new way to introduce an involution on the set of irreducible representations of the group which has been defined by A. Zelevinsky for $G=GL(n)$ by A.-M. Aubert in general (less direct geometric approaches to this duality have been developed earlier by Schneider-Stuhler and by the second author). We study the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials specialized at infinity from various points of view. First, we define a family of modules of the Iwahori algebra whose characters are equal to the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials specialized at infinity. Second, we show that these modules are isomorphic to the dual spaces of sections of certain sheaves on the semi-infinite Schubert varieties. Third, we prove that the global versions of these modules are homologically dual to the level one affine Demazure modules.

In this paper, we investigate abstract homomorphism from the special linear group over complete discrete valuation rings with finite residue field, such as the ring of p-adic integers, into the general linear group over the reals. We find the minimal dimension in which such a representation has infinite image. For positive characteristic rings, this minimum is infinity.

The goal of this work is to construct a perverse t-structure on the infinity-category of l-adic LG-equivariant sheaves on the loop Lie algebra Lg and to show that the affine Grothendieck-Springer sheaf S is perverse. Moreover, S is an intermediate extension of its restriction to the locus of ``compact" elements with regular semi-simple reduction. Note that classical methods do not apply in our situation because LG and Lg are infinite-dimensional ind-schemes.
