We study hypercyclicity of Toeplitz operators in the Hardy space $H^2(\mathbb{D})$ with symbols of the form $R(\overline{z}) +ϕ(z)$, where $R$ is a rational function and $ϕ\in H^\infty(\mathbb{D})$. We relate this problem to cyclicity of certain families of functions for analytic Toeplitz operators and give new sufficient conditions for hypercyclicity based on deep results of B. Solomyak.
We study hypercyclicity of the Toeplitz operators in the Hardy space $H^2(\mathbb{D})$ with symbols of the form $p(\bar{z}) +ϕ(z)$, where $p$ is a polynomial and $ϕ\in H^\infty(\mathbb{D})$. We find both necessary and sufficient conditions for hypercyclicity which almost coincide in the case when ${\rm deg}\, p =1$.
In this note we discuss an open problem whether a truncated Toeplitz operator on a model space can be hypercyclic. We compute point spectrum and eigenfunctions for a class of truncated Toeplitz operators with polynomial analytic and antianalytic parts. We show that, for a class of model spaces, truncated Toeplitz operators with symbols of the form $Φ(z) =a \bar{z} +b + cz$, $|a| \ne |c|$, have complete sets of eigenvectors, and, in particular, are not hypercyclic.
We use a theorem by Gonzalez, Leon-Saavedra and Montes-Rodriguez to construct a class of coanalytic Toeplitz operators which have an infinite-dimensional closed subspace, where any non-zero vector is hypercyclic.
We study the compactness and the hypercyclicity of Toeplitz operators in the de Branges-Rovnyak spaces H(b) with co-analytic and bounded symbols on D. We highlight the fundamental role played by the function b generating the de Branges-Rovnyak space H(b). The characterization of compactness depends wether b is inner function or not and the characterization of hypercyclicity depends wether the function log(1-|b|) is integrable or not.
We prove a new criterion of weak hypercyclicity of a bounded linear operator on a Banach space. Applying this criterion, we solve few open questions. Namely, we show that if $G$ is a region of $\C$ bounded by a smooth Jordan curve $Γ$ such that $G$ does not meet the unit ball but $Γ$ intersects the unit circle in a non-trivial arc, then $M^*$ is a weakly hypercyclic operator on $H^2(G)$, where $M$ is the multiplication by the argument operator $Mf(z)=zf(z)$. We also prove that if $g$ is a non-constant function from the Hardy space $H^\infty(\D)$ on the unit disk $\D$ such that $g(\D)\cap\D=\va…
We characterise hypercyclic composition operators $C_φ:f\mapsto f\circφ$ on the space of functions holomorphic on $Ω$, where $Ω$ is a connected Stein manifold and $φ$ is a holomorphic self-mapping of $Ω$. In the case when all balls with respect to the Carathéodory pseudodistance are relatively compact in $Ω$, we show that much simpler characterisation is possible (many natural classes of domains in $\CC^N$ satisfy this condition). Moreover, we show that in such a class of manifolds, and in simply connected and infinitely connected planar domains, hypercyclicity of $C_φ$ implies its hereditary …
In this paper, we introduce the notions of $f$-frequent hypercyclicity and ${\mathcal F}$-hypercyclicity for $C$-distribution semigroups in separable Fréchet spaces. We particularly analyze the classes of $q$-frequently hypercyclic $C$-distribution semigroups ($q\geq 1$) and frequently hypercyclic $C$-distribution semigroups, providing a great number of illustrative examples.
We investigate the hypercyclic properties of commutator maps acting on separable ideals of operators. As the main result we prove the commutator map induced by scalar multiples of the backward shift operator fails to be hypercyclic on the space of compact operators on $\ell^2$. We also establish some necessary conditions which identify large classes of operators that do not induce hypercyclic commutator maps.
We provide conditions for a linear map of the form $C_{R,T}(S)=RST$ to be $q$-frequently hypercyclic on algebras of operators on separable Banach spaces. In particular, if $R$ is a bounded operator satisfying the $q$-Frequent Hypercyclicity Criterion, then the map $C_{R}(S)$=$RSR^*$ is shown to be $q$-frequently hypercyclic on the space $\mathcal{K}(H)$ of all compact operators and the real topological vector space $\mathcal{S}(H)$ of all self-adjoint operators on a separable Hilbert space $H$. Further we provide a condition for $C_{R,T}$ to be $q$-frequently hypercyclic on the Schatten von Ne…
According to Kim, Peris and Song, a continuous linear operator $T$ on a complex Banach space $X$ is called {\it numerically hypercyclic} if the numerical orbit $\{f(T^nx):n\in\N\}$ is dense in $\C$ for some $x\in X$ and $f\in X^*$ satisfying $\|x\|=\|f\|=f(x)=1$. They have characterized numerically hypercyclic weighted shifts and provided an example of a numerically hypercyclic operator on $\C^2$. We answer two questions of Kim, Peris and Song. Namely, we construct a numerically hypercyclic operator, whose square is not numerically hypercyclic as well as an operator which is not numerically hy…
We address the question of describing the membership to Schatten-Von Neumann ideals $\mathcal{S}_ p$ of integration operators $(T_ g f)(z)=\int_{0}^{z}f(ζ)\,g'(ζ)\,dζ$ acting on Dirichlet type spaces. We also study this problem for multiplication, Hankel and Toeplitz operators. In particular, we provide an extension of Luecking's result on Toeplitz operators.
We prove asymptotic formulas for Toeplitz determinants generated by functions with sequences of Fourier coefficients belonging to weighted Orlicz sequence classes. We concentrate our attention on the case of nonvanishing generating functions with nonzero Cauchy index.

The purpose of this paper is to compute the asymptotics of determinants of finite sections of operators that are trace class perturbations of Toeplitz operators. For example, we consider the asymptotics in the case where the matrices are of the form $ (a_{i-j} \pm a_{i+j+1-k})_{i,j=0... N-1} $ with $k$ is fixed. We will show that this example as well as some general classes of operators have expansions that are similar to those that appear in the Strong Szegö Limit Theorem. We also obtain exact identitities for some of the determinants that are analogous to the one derived independently by Ger…
It is shown that the kernel of a Toeplitz operator with $2\times 2$ symbol $G$ can be described exactly in terms of any given function in a very wide class, its image under multiplication by $G$, and their left inverses, if the latter exist. As a consequence, under many circumstances the kernel of a block Toeplitz operator may be described as the product of a space of scalar complex-valued functions by a fixed column vector of functions. Such kernels are said to be of scalar type, and in this paper they are studied and described explicitly in many concrete situations. Applications are given to…
We study a Toeplitz type operator $Q_μ$ between the holomorphic Hardy spaces $H^p$ and $H^q$ of the unit ball. Here the generating symbol $μ$ is assumed to a positive Borel measure. This kind of operator is related to many classical mappings acting on Hardy spaces, such as composition operators, the Volterra type integration operators and Carleson embeddings. We completely characterize the boundedness and compactness of $Q_μ:H^p\to H^q$ for the full range $1<p,q<\infty$; and also describe the membership in the Schatten classes of $H^2$. In the last section of the paper, we demonstrate the usef…
We solve a number of questions pertaining to the dynamics of linear operators on Hilbert spaces, sometimes by using Baire category arguments and sometimes by constructing explicit examples. In particular, we prove the following results. - A typical hypercyclic operator is not topologically mixing, has no eigenvalues and admits no non-trivial invariant measure, but is densely distributionally chaotic. - A typical upper-triangular operator is ergodic in the Gaussian sense, whereas a typical operator of the form "diagonal plus backward unilateral weighted shift" is ergodic but has only countably …
In this paper, we study Toeplitz operators on the weighted harmonic Bergman spaces with nonnegative symbols, the weights we choose here are Muckenhoupt A_2 weights. Results obtained include characterizations of bounded Toeplitz operators, compact Toeplitz operators, invertible Toeplitz operators and Toeplitz operators in the Schatten classes.
The well know conjecture of {\it Coburn} [{\it L.A. Coburn, {On the Berezin-Toeplitz calculus}, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 129 (2001) 3331-3338.}] proved by {\it Lo} [{\it M-L. Lo, {The Bargmann Transform and Windowed Fourier Transform}, Integr. equ. oper. theory, 27 (2007), 397-412.}] and {\it Englis} [{\it M. Engli$\check{s}$, Toeplitz Operators and Localization Operators, Trans. Am. Math Society 361 (2009) 1039-1052.}] states that any {\it Gabor-Daubechies} operator with window $ψ$ and symbol ${\bf a}(x,ω)$ quantized on the phase space by a {\it Berezin-Toeplitz} operator with window $Ψ$ and sy…
As well-known, the concept "hypercyclic" in operator theory is the same as the concept "transitive" in dynamical system. Now the class of hypercyclic operators is well studied. Following the idea of research in hypercyclic operators, we consider classes of operators with some kinds of chaotic properties in this article. First of all, the closures of the sets of all Li-Yorke chaotic operators or distributionally chaotic operators are discussed. We give a spectral description of them and prove that the two closures coincide with each other. Moreover, both the set of all Li-Yorke chaotic operator…
We consider the $\dbar-$ equation in $\C^1$ in classes of functions with Gaussian decay at infinity. We prove that if the right-hand side of the equation is majorated by $\exp(-q|z|^2)$, with some positive $q$, together with derivatives up to some order, and is orthogonal, as a distribution, to all analytical polynomials, then there exists a solution with decays, together with derivatives, as $\exp(-q'|z|^2)$, for any $q'<q/e$. This result carries over to the $\dbar$-equation in classes of distributions, again, with Gaussian decay at infinity, in some precisely defined sense. The properties of…
We prove that for certain classes of pseudoconvex domains of finite type, the Bergman-Toeplitz operator $T_ψ$ with symbol $ψ=K^{-α}$ maps from $L^{p}$ to $L^{q}$ continuously with $1< p\le q<\infty$ if and only if $α\ge\frac{1}{p}-\frac{1}{q}$, where $K$ is the Bergman kernel on diagonal. This work generalises the results on strongly pseudoconvex domains by Čučković and McNeal, and Abeta, Raissy and Saracco.
We generalize the concept of coarse hypercyclicity, introduced by Feldman in \cite{Fe1}, to that of coarse topological transitivity on open cones. We show that a bounded linear operator acting on an infinite dimensional Banach space with a coarsely dense orbit on an open cone is hypercyclic and a coarsely topologically transitive (mixing) operator on an open cone is topologically transitive (mixing resp.). We also "localize" these concepts by introducing two new classes of operators called coarsely $J$-class and coarsely $D$-class operators and we establish some results that may make these cla…
We characterize the commutant of the analytic Toeplitz operators modulo operators of Schatten-p-class on suitable multivariable domains. We show that a result of J. Xia on compact perturbations of Toeplitz operators on the unit disc remains true on strictly pseudoconvex and symmetric domains in C^n if the ideal of compact operators is replaced by the Schatten-p-classes with p strictly less than infinity.
We study the Carleson measures and the Toeplitz operators on the class of so-called small weighted Bergman spaces, introduced recently by Seip. A characterization of Carleson measures is obtained which extends Seip's results from the unit disc of $\mathbb C$ to the unit ball of $\mathbb C^n$. We use this characterization to give necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness and compactness of Toeplitz operators. Finally, we study the Schatten $p$ classes membership of Toeplitz operators for $1<p<\infty$.
Asymmetric dual truncated Toeplitz operators acting between the orthogonal complements of two (eventually different) model spaces are introduced and studied. They are shown to be equivalent after extension to paired operators on $L^2(\mathbb T) \oplus L^2(\mathbb T)$ and, if their symbols are invertible in $L^\infty(\mathbb T)$, to asymmetric truncated Toeplitz operators with the inverse symbol. Relations with Carleson's corona theorem are also established. These results are used to study the Fredholmness, the invertibility and the spectra of various classes of dual truncated Toeplitz operator…
Compressions of Toeplitz operators to coinvariant subspaces of $H^2$ are called truncated Toeplitz operators. We study two questions related to these operators. The first, raised by Sarason, is whether boundedness of the operator implies the existence of a bounded symbol; the second is the reproducing kernel thesis. We show that in general the answer to the first question is negative, and we exhibit some classes of spaces for which the answers to both questions are positive.
Complementing earlier results on dynamics of unilateral weighted shifts, we obtain a sufficient (but not necessary, with supporting examples) condition for hypercyclicity, mixing and chaos for $M_z^*$, the adjoint of $M_z$, on vector-valued analytic reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces $\mathcal{H}$ in terms of the derivatives of kernel functions on the open unit disc $\mathbb{D}$ in $\mathbb{C}$. Here $M_z$ denotes the multiplication operator by the coordinate function $z$, that is \[ (M_z f) (w) = w f(w), \] for all $f \in \mathcal{H}$ and $w \in \mathbb{D}$. We analyze the special case of quas…
The paper describes various approaches to the invertibility of Toeplitz plus Hankel operators in Hardy and $l^p$-spaces, integral and difference Wiener-Hopf plus Hankel operators and generalized Toeplitz plus Hankel operators. Special attention is paid to a newly developed method, which allows to establish necessary, sufficient and also necessary and sufficient conditions of invertibility, one-sided and generalized invertibility for wide classes of operators and derive efficient formulas for the corresponding inverses. The work also contains a number of problems whose solution would be of inte…
We investigate the lifting property of modulation spaces and construct explicit isomorpisms between them. For each weight function $ω$ and suitable window function $\fy $, the Toeplitz operator (or localization operator) $\tp_\fy (ω)$ is an isomorphism from $M^{p,q}_{(ω_0)}$ onto $M^{p,q}_{(ω_0/ω)}$ for every $p,q \in [1,\infty ]$ and arbitrary weight function $ω_0$. The methods involve the pseudo-differential calculus of Bony and Chemin and the Wiener algebra property of certain symbol classes of pseudo-differential operators.
Truncated Toeplitz operators are C--symmetric with respect to the canonical conjugation given on an appropriate model space. However, by considering only one conjugation one cannot characterize truncated Toeplitz operators. It will be proved, for some classes of inner functions and the model spaces connected with them, that if an operator on a model space is C--symmetric for a certain family of conjugations in the model space, then is has to be truncated Toeplitz. A characterization of classical Toeplitz operators is also presented in terms of conjugations.
We find a relation guaranteeing that Hankel operators realized in the space of sequences $\ell^2 ({\Bbb Z}_{+}) $ and in the space of functions $L^2 ({\Bbb R}_{+}) $ are unitarily equivalent. This allows us to obtain exhaustive spectral results for two classes of unbounded Hankel operators in the space $\ell^2 ({\Bbb Z}_{+}) $ generalizing in different directions the classical Hilbert matrix. We also discuss a link between representations of Toeplitz operators in the spaces $\ell^2 ({\Bbb Z}_{+}) $ and $L^2 ({\Bbb R}_{+}) $.
We prove sufficient conditions for the boundedness and compactness of Toeplitz operators $T_a$ in weighted sup-normed Banach spaces $H_v^\infty$ of holomorphic functions defined on the open unit disc $\mathbb{D}$ of the complex plane; both the weights $v$ and symbols $a$ are assumed to be radial functions on $\mathbb{D}$. In an earlier work by the authors it was shown that there exists a bounded, harmonic (thus non-radial) symbol $a$ such that $T_a$ is not bounded in any space $H_v^\infty$ with an admissible weight $v$. Here, we show that a mild additional assumption on the logarithmic decay r…
The purpose of this Note is to study a simple class of mixed states and the corresponding density operators (matrices). These operators, which we call quite Toeplitz density operators correspond to states obtained from a fixed function ("window") by position-momentum translations, and reduce in the simplest case to the anti-Wick operators considered long ago by Berezin. The rigorous study of Toeplitz operators requires the use of classes of functional spaces defined by Feichtinger.
For bounded Lebesgue measurable functions $f,g,ϕ$ and $ψ$ on the unit circle, $P_{+}fP_{+}+P_{-}gP_{+} +P_{+}ϕP_{-}+P_{-}ψP_{-}$ is called a generalized singular integral operator (GSIO) on $L^{2}(\mathbb{T})$, where $P_{+}$ is the Riesz projection, $P_{-}=I-P_{+}.$ In this paper, we relate GSIOs to a number of operators, including Cauchy singular integral operator, (dual) truncated Toeplitz operator, Foguel-Hankel operator, multiplication operator, Toeplitz plus Hankel operator etc. We establish the short exact sequences associated of the $C^{*}-$algebras generated by GSIOs with bounded or qu…
In this paper, the definition of noncommutative Orlicz sequence spaces is given, these spaces generalize the Schatten classes Sp(H). After some relations of trace and norm on this spaces have been researched, one give the criterion of reflexivity of these spaces. At last, as an application, we find the Toeplitz operator on the Bergman space belongs to some noncommutative Orlicz sequence spaces, hence the trace and the norm of operator could be computed.
For Toeplitz operators $T_f^{(t)}$ acting on the weighted Fock space $H_t^2$, we consider the semi-commutator $T_f^{(t)}T_g^{(t)}-T_{fg}^{(t)}$, where $t>0$ is a certain weight parameter that may be interpreted as Planck's constant $\hbar$ in Rieffel's deformation quantization. In particular, we are interested in the semi-classical limit \tag{$*$}\lim\limits_{t\to 0}\|T_f^{(t)}T_g^{(t)}-T_{fg}^{(t)}\|_t. It is well-known that $\|T_f^{(t)}T_g^{(t)}-T_{fg}^{(t)}\|_t$ tends to $0$ under certain smoothness assumptions imposed on $f$ and $g$. This result was extended to $f,g \in \mathrm{BUC}(\mathb…
For operators belonging either to a class of global bisingular pseudodifferential operators on $R^m \times R^n$ or to a class of bisingular pseudodifferential operators on a product $M \times N$ of two closed smooth manifolds, we show the equivalence of their ellipticity (defined by the invertibility of certain associated homogeneous principal symbols) and their Fredholm mapping property in associated scales of Sobolev spaces. We also prove the spectral invariance of these operator classes and then extend these results to the even larger classes of Toeplitz type operators.
