Suppose $\mathfrak{R}$ is a $2$,$3$-torsion free unital alternative ring having an idempotent element $e_1$ $\left(e_2 = 1-e_1\right)$ which satisfies $x \mathfrak{R} \cdot e_i = \{0\} \rightarrow x = 0$ $\left(i = 1,2\right)$. In this paper, we aim to characterize the commuting maps. Let $φ$ be a commuting map of $\mathfrak{R}$ so it is shown that $φ(x) = zx + Ξ(x)$ for all $x \in \mathfrak{R}$, where $z \in \mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{R})$ and $Ξ$ is an additive map from $\mathfrak{R}$ into $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{R})$. As a consequence a characterization of anti-commuting maps is obtained and we provide as an application, a characterization of commuting maps on von Neumann algebras relative alternative $C^{*}$-algebra with no central summands of type $I_1$.
For a division ring D, finite dimensional over its center F, we give a condiction for the connectedness of the commuting graph of a matrix ring over $D$. Furthermore, we prove that if the commuting graph is connected, then its diameter is between four and six.
Let $R$ be a finite ring. The commuting probability of $R$ is the probability that any two randomly chosen elements of $R$ commute. In this paper, we obtain some bounds for commuting probability of $R$.
In this paper, we compute the genus of commuting graphs of non-commutative rings of order $p^4$, $p^5$, $p^2q$ and $p^3q$, where $p$ and $q$ are prime integers. We also characterize those finite rings such that their commuting graphs are planar or toroidal.
We show that the set of all commuting probabilities in finite rings is a subset of the set of all commuting probabilities in finite nilpotent groups of class $\le2$. We believe that these two sets are equal; we prove they are equal, when restricted to groups and rings with odd number of elements.
The commuting probability of a finite ring $R$, denoted by $\Pr(R)$, is the probability that any two randomly chosen elements of $R$ commute. In this paper, we obtain several bounds for $\Pr(R)$ through a generalization of $\Pr(R)$. Further, we define ${\Z}$-isoclinism between two pairs of rings and show that the generalized commuting probability, defined in this paper, is invariant under ${\Z}$-isoclinism between two pairs of finite rings.
Let $R$ be a finite ring. The commuting probability of $R$, denoted by $\Pr(R)$, is the probability that any two randomly chosen elements of $R$ commute. $R$ is called an $n$-centralizer ring if it has $n$ distinct centralizers. In this paper, we compute $\Pr(R)$ for some $n$-centralizer finite rings.
In this paper we study the probability that the commutator of a randomly chosen pair of elements, one from a subring of a finite ring and other from the ring itself equals to a given element of the ring.
The non-commuting graph $Γ_R$ of a finite ring $R$ with center $Z(R)$ is a simple undirected graph whose vertex set is $R \setminus Z(R)$ and two distinct vertices $a$ and $b$ are adjacent if and only if $ab \ne ba$. In this paper, we show that $Γ_R$ is not isomorphic to certain graphs of any finite non-commutative ring $R$. Some connections between $Γ_R$ and commuting probability of $R$ are also obtained. Further, it is shown that the non-commuting graphs of two $\mathbb{Z}$-isoclinic rings are isomorphic if the centers of the rings have same order
Let $R$ be a finite ring and $r \in R$. The aim of this paper is to study the probability that the commutator of a randomly chosen pair of elements of $R$ equals $r$.
We will give a short proof of the fact that if the algebraic closure of a field $\mathbb F$ is a finite extension, then for $n\geq 3$ the commuting graph $Γ(M_n(\mathbb F))$ is connected and its diameter is four.
The aim of this paper is to study the probability that the commutator of an arbitrarily chosen pair of elements, each from two different subrings of a finite non-commutative ring equals a given element of that ring. We obtain several results on this probability including a computing formula, some bounds and characterizations.

In a recent paper C. Miguel proved that the diameter of the commuting graph of the matrix ring $\mathrm{M}_n(\mathbb{R})$ is equal to $4$ either if $n=3$ or $n>4$. But the case $n=4$ remained open, since the diameter could be $4$ or $5$. In this work we close the problem showing that also in this case the diameter is equal to $4$.
Let $S$ be a subring of a finite ring $R$ and $C_R(S) = \{r \in R : rs = sr \;\forall\; s \in S\}$. The relative non-commuting graph of the subring $S$ in $R$, denoted by $Γ_{S, R}$, is a simple undirected graph whose vertex set is $R \setminus C_R(S)$ and two distinct vertices $a, b$ are adjacent if and only if $a$ or $b \in S$ and $ab \neq ba$. In this paper, we discuss some properties of $Γ_{S, R}$, determine diameter, girth, some dominating sets and chromatic index for $Γ_{S, R}$. Also, we derive some connections between $Γ_{S, R}$ and the relative commuting probability of $S$ in $R$. Fina…
Let $S, K$ be two subrings of a finite ring $R$. Then the generalized non-commuting graph of subrings $S, K$ of $R$, denoted by $Γ_{S, K}$, is a simple graph whose vertex set is $(S \cup K) \setminus (C_K(S) \cup C_S(K))$ and two distinct vertices $a, b$ are adjacent if and only if $a \in S$ or $b \in S$ and $ab \neq ba$. We determine the diameter, girth and some dominating sets for $Γ_{S, K}$. Some connections between the $Γ_{S, K}$ and $\Pr(S, K)$ are also obtained. Further, $\Z$-isoclinism between two pairs of finite rings is defined and showed that the generalized non-commuting graphs of t…
Suppose the ground field is algebraically closed and of characteristic different from 2. In this paper, we described the intrinsic connections among linear super-commuting maps, super-biderivations and centroids for Lie superalgebras satisfying certain assumptions. This is a generalization of the results of Bre$\check{s}$ar and Zhao on Lie algebras.
In this paper, we investigate the skew-symmertric biderivations of the deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras which contain the twisted and original deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras. As an application, we give the explicit form of each linear commuting map on the deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras. In particular, we obtain that there exist non-inner biderivations and non-standard linear commuting maps for the certain deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras.

For each non-commutative ring R, the commuting graph of R is a graph with vertex set $R\setminus Z(R)$ and two vertices $x$ and $y$ are adjacent if and only if $x\neq y$ and $xy=yx$. In this paper, we consider the domination and signed domination numbers on commuting graph $Γ(R)$ for non-commutative ring $R$ with $Z(R)=\{0\}$. For a finite ring $R$, it is shown that $γ(Γ(R)) + γ(\overlineΓ(R))=|R|$ if and only if $R$ is non-commutative ring on 4 elements. Also we determine the domination number of $Γ(\prod_{i=1}^{t}R_i)$ and commuting graph of non-commutative ring $R$ of order $p^3$, where $p$…
This article presents a generalization of the RSA cryptosystem for rings with commuting ideals. An analogue of the Euler function for ideals and the concept of an RSA-ideal are defined. An analog of a cryptosystem for the ring with commuting ideals is formulated and a description of the RSA-ideals for which this is possible is obtained.
The commuting graph of a non-commutative ring $R$ with center $Z(R)$ is a simple undirected graph whose vertex set is $R\setminus Z(R)$ and two vertices $x, y$ are adjacent if and only if $xy = yx$. In this paper, we compute the spectrum and genus of commuting graphs of some classes of finite rings.
Let $\A$ be an algebra and $σ$ an automorphism of $\A$. A linear map $d$ of $\A$ is called a $σ$-derivation of $\A$ if $d(xy) = d(x)y + σ(x)d(y)$, for all $x, y \in \A$. A bilinear map $D: \A \times \A \to \A$ is said to be a $σ$-biderivation of $\A$ if it is a $σ$-derivation in each component. An additive map $Θ$ of $\A$ is $σ$-commuting if it satisfies $Θ(x)x - σ(x)Θ(x) = 0$, for all $x \in \A$. In this paper, we introduce the notions of inner and extremal $σ$-biderivations and of proper $σ$-commuting maps. One of our main results states that, under certain assumptions, every $σ$-biderivatio…
Let $M$ be a prime $Γ$-ring satisfying a certain assumption and $D$ a nonzero derivation on $M$. Let $f:M\rightarrow M$ be a generalized derivation such that $f$ is centralizing and commuting on a left ideal $J$ of $M$. Then we prove that $M$ is commutative.
Let $L$ be a Lie algebra over a field of characteristic different from $2$. If $L$ is perfect and centerless, then every skew-symmetric biderivation $δ:L\times L\to L$ is of the form $δ(x,y)=γ([x,y])$ for all $x,y\in L$, where $γ\in{\rm Cent}(L)$, the centroid of $L$. Under a milder assumption that $[c,[L,L]]=\{0\}$ implies $c=0$, every commuting linear map from $L$ to $L$ lies in ${\rm Cent}(L)$. These two results are special cases of our main theorems which concern biderivations and commuting linear maps having their ranges in an $L$-module. We provide a variety of examples, some of them sho…
The purpose of this paper is to determine skew-symmetric biderivations $\text{Bider}_{\text{s}}(L, V)$ and commuting linear maps $\text{Com}(L, V)$ on a Hom-Lie algebra $(L,α)$ having their ranges in an $(L,α)$-module $(V, ρ, β)$, which are both closely related to $\text{Cent} (L, V)$, the centroid of $(V, ρ, β)$. Specifically, under appropriate assumptions, every $δ\in\text{Bider}_{\text{s}}(L, V)$ is of the form $δ(x,y)=β^{-1}γ([x,y])$ for some $γ\in \text{Cent} (L, V)$, and $\text{Com}(L, V)$ coincides with $\text{Cent} (L, V)$. Besides, we give the algorithm for describing $\text{Bider}_{\…
Let $n\geq2$ be a natural number. Let $M_n(\mathbb{K})$ be the ring of all $n \times n$ matrices over a field $\mathbb{K}$. Fix natural number $k$ satisfying $1<k\leq n$. Under a mild technical assumption over $\mathbb{K}$ we will show that additive maps $G:M_n(\mathbb{K})\to M_n(\mathbb{K})$ such that $[G(x),x]=0$ for every rank-$k$ matrix $x\in M_n(\mathbb{K})$ are of form $λx + μ(x)$, where $λ\in Z$, $μ:M_n(\mathbb{K})\to Z$, and $Z$ stands for the center of $M_n(\mathbb{K})$. Furthermore, we shall see an example that there are additive maps such that $[G(x),x]=0$ for all rank-1 matrices th…
Let $k$ be an arbitrary field of characteristic zero, $k[x, y]$ be the polynomial ring and $D$ a $k$-derivation of the ring $k[x, y]$. Recall that a nonconstant polynomial $F\in k[x, y]$ is said to be a Darboux polynomial of the derivation $D$ if $D(F)=λF$ for some polynomial $λ\in k[x, y]$. We prove that any two linearly independent over the field $k$ commuting $k$-derivations $D_{1}$ and $D_{2}$ of the ring $k[x, y]$ either have a common Darboux polynomial, or $D_{1}=D_{u_{1}}, D_{2}=D_{u_{2}}$ are Jacobian derivations i.e., $D_{i}(f)=\det J(u_{i}, f)$ for every $f\in k[x, y], i=1, 2,$ where…
Let $\mathcal{R}$ be a $2$-torsion free commutative ring with unity, $X$ a locally finite pre-ordered set and $I(X,\mathcal{R})$ the incidence algebra of $X$ over $\mathcal{R}$. If $X$ consists of a finite number of connected components, in this paper we give a sufficient and necessary condition for each commuting map on $I(X,\mathcal{R})$ being proper.
Let $A$ be an algebra over a field $K$ of characteristic zero, let $\d_1, >..., \d_s\in \Der_K(A)$ be {\em commuting locally nilpotent} $K$-derivations such that $\d_i(x_j)=\d_{ij}$, the Kronecker delta, for some elements $x_1,..., x_s\in A$. A set of algebra generators for the algebra $A^\d:= \cap_{i=1}^s\ker (\d_i)$ is found {\em explicitly} and a set of {\em defining relations} for the algebra $A^\d$ is described. Similarly, given a set $\s_1, ..., \s_s\in \Aut_K(A)$ of {\em commuting} $K$-automorphisms of the algebra $A$ such that the maps $\s_i-{\rm id_A}$ are {\em locally nilpotent} and …
In this work, it is proposed a method for computing Noncommutative Gröbner bases over a valuation nœtherian ring. We have generalized the fundamental theorem on normal forms over an arbitrary ring. The classical method of dynamical commutative Gröbner bases is generalized for Buchberger's algorithm over $R=\mathcal{V}<x_1,...,x_m>$ a free associative algebra with non-commuting variables, where $\mathcal{V}=\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z}$ or $\mathcal{V}=\mathbb{Z}$. The process proposed, generalizes previous known technics for the computation of Commutative Gröbner bases over a valuation nœtherian rin…
Let $\mathfrak{R}$ and $\mathfrak{R}'$ be two associative rings (not necessarily with the identity elements). A bijective map $φ$ of $\mathfrak{R}$ onto $\mathfrak{R}'$ is called a \textit{$m$-multiplicative isomorphism} if {$φ(x_{1} \cdots x_{m}) = φ(x_{1}) \cdots φ(x_{m})$} for all $x_{1}, \cdots ,x_{m}\in \mathfrak{R}.$ In this article, we establish a condition on generalized $n$-matrix rings, that assures that multiplicative maps are additive on generalized $n$-matrix rings under certain restrictions. And then, we apply our result for study of $m$-multiplicative isomorphism and $m$-multipl…
Let R be a commutative ring and let n,m be two positive integers. Let be the polynomial ring in m x n commuting independent variables R. The symmetric group on n letters acts diagonally on A(n,m). We give generators and relations of the rings of invariants for this action.
If A is a strongly noetherian graded algebra generated in degree one, then there is a canonically constructed graded ring homomorphism from A to a twisted homogeneous coordinate ring B(X, L, sigma), which is surjective in large degree. This result is a key step in the study of projectively simple rings. The proof relies on some results concerning the growth of graded rings which are of independent interest.
A ring $R$ is called weakly periodic if every $x \in R$ can be written in the form $x = a + b,$ where $a$ is nilpotent and $b^m = b$ for some integer $m > 1.$ The aim of this note is to consider when a nonzero nilpotent element $r$ is the period of some power map $f(x) = x^n,$ in the sense that $f(x + r) = f(x)$ for all $x \in R,$ and how this relates to the structure of weakly periodic rings. In particular, we provide a new proof of the fact that weakly periodic rings with central and torsion nilpotent elements are periodic commutative torsion rings. We also prove that $x^n$ is periodic over …
Let $\mathcal{G}$ be a generalized matrix algebra over a commutative ring $\mathcal{R}$, ${\mathfrak q}\colon \mathcal{G}\times\mathcal{G}\longrightarrow \mathcal{G}$ be an $\mathcal{R}$-bilinear mapping and ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}\colon:\mathcal{G}\longrightarrow \mathcal{G}$ be a trace of $\mathfrak{q}$. We describe the form of ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}$ satisfying the condition ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}(G)G=G{\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}(G)$ for all $G\in \mathcal{G}$. The question of when ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}$ has the proper form is considered. Using the aforementioned tra…
