In this paper, we study the twisted Ruelle zeta function associated with the geodesic flow of a compact, hyperbolic, odd-dimensional manifold $X$. The twisted Ruelle zeta function is associated with an acyclic representation $χ\colon π_{1}(X) \rightarrow \GL_{n}(\C)$, which is close enough to an acyclic, unitary representation. In this case, the twisted Ruelle zeta function is regular at zero and equals the square of the refined analytic torsion, as it is introduced by Braverman and Kappeler in \cite{BK2}, multiplied by an exponential, which involves the eta invariant of the even part of the odd-signature operator, associated with $χ$.
We show that for a generic conformal metric perturbation of a compact hyperbolic 3-manifold $Σ$ with Betti number $b_1$, the order of vanishing of the Ruelle zeta function at zero equals $4-b_1$, while in the hyperbolic case it is equal to $4-2b_1$. This is in contrast to the 2-dimensional case where the order of vanishing is a topological invariant. The proof uses the microlocal approach to dynamical zeta functions, giving a geometric description of generalized Pollicott-Ruelle resonant differential forms at 0 in the hyperbolic case and using first variation for the perturbation. To show that…
Let $X$ be a compact, hyperbolic surface of genus $g\geq 2$. In this paper, we prove that the twisted Selberg and Ruelle zeta functions, associated with an arbitrary, finite-dimensional, complex representation $χ$ of $π_1(X)$ admit a meromorphic continuation to $\mathbb{C}$. Moreover, we study the behaviour of the twisted Ruelle zeta function at $s=0$ and prove that at this point, it has a zero of order $\dim(χ)(2g-2)$.
We consider the dynamical zeta functions of Selberg and Ruelle associated with the geodesic flow on a compact odd-dimensional hyperbolic manifold. These dynamical zeta functions are defined for a complex variable $s$ in some right-half plane of $\mathbb{C}$. In [Spi18], it was proved that they admit a meromorphic continuation to the whole complex plane. In this paper, we establish functional equations for them, relating their values at $s$ with those at $-s$. We prove also a determinant representation of the zeta functions, using the regularized determinants of certain twisted differential ope…
We consider Anosov flows on closed 3-manifolds preserving a volume form $Ω$. Following Dyatlov and Zworski (2017) we study spaces of invariant distributions with values in the bundle of exterior forms whose wavefront set is contained in the dual of the unstable bundle. Our first result computes the dimension of these spaces in terms of the first Betti number of the manifold, the cohomology class $[ι_{X}Ω]$ (where $X$ is the infinitesimal generator of the flow) and the helicity. These dimensions coincide with the Pollicott-Ruelle resonance multiplicities under the assumption of $\textit{semisim…
Fried's conjecture is concerned with the behavior of dynamical zeta functions at the origin. For compact hyperbolic manifolds, Fried proved that for an orthogonal acyclic representation of the fundamental group, the twisted Ruelle zeta function is holomorphic at $s=0$ and its value at $s=0$ equals the Ray-Singer analytic torsion. He also established a more general result for orthogonal representations, which are not acyclic. The purpose of the present paper is to extend Fried's result to arbitrary finite dimensional representations of the fundamental group. The Ray-Singer analytic torsion is r…
In this paper, we construct the renormalized analytic torsion in the setup of manifold endowed with fibred boundary metrics. The method of construction is to determine the asymptotic of heat kernel, both in short time regime and long time regime and apply these asymptotics together with renormalization to determine the renormalized zeta function and the determinant of Hodge Laplacian.
Let $Γ_{w}$ be a non-cofinite Hecke triangle group with cusp width $w>2$ and let $\varrho\colonΓ_w\to U(V)$ be a finite-dimensional unitary representation of $Γ_w$. In this note we announce a new fractal upper bound for the Selberg zeta function of $Γ_{w}$ twisted by $\varrho$. In strips parallel to the imaginary axis and bounded away from the real axis, the Selberg zeta function is bounded by $\exp\left( C_{\varepsilon} \vert s\vert^{δ+ \varepsilon} \right)$, where $δ= δ_{w}$ denotes the Hausdorff dimension of the limit set of $Γ_{w}$. This bound implies fractal Weyl bounds on the resonances …
