This paper and [17] treat the existence and nonexistence of stable (resp. outside stable) weak solutions to a fractional Hardy--Hénon equation $(-Δ)^s u = |x|^\ell |u|^{p-1} u$ in $\mathbb{R}^N$ where $0 < s < 1$, $\ell > -2s$, $p>1$, $N \geq 1$ and $N > 2s$. In this paper, the nonexistence part is proved for the Joseph--Lundgren subcritical case.
In this paper we deal with nonnegative distributional supersolutions for a class of linear elliptic equations involving inverse-square potentials and logarithmic weights. We prove sharp nonexistence results.
In this paper we study nonexistence of non-negative distributional supersolutions for a class of semilinear elliptic equations involving inverse-square potentials.
We study anti-symmetric solutions about the hyperplane $\{x_n=0\}$ to the following fractional Hardy-Hénon system $$ \left\{\begin{aligned} &(-Δ)^{s_1}u(x)=|x|^αv^p(x),\ \ x\in\mathbb{R}_+^n, \\&(-Δ)^{s_2}v(x)=|x|^βu^q(x),\ \ x\in\mathbb{R}_+^n, \\&u(x)\geq 0,\ \ v(x)\geq 0,\ \ x\in\mathbb{R}_+^n, \end{aligned}\right. $$ where $0<s_1,s_2<1$, $n>2\max\{s_1,s_2\}$. Nonexistence of anti-symmetric solutions are obtained in some appropriate domains of $(p,q)$ under some corresponding assumptions of $α,β$ via the methods of moving spheres and moving planes. Particularly, for the case $s_1=s_2$, one …
In this paper, we obtain necessary conditions and sufficient conditions on the initial data for the local-in-time solvability of the Cauchy problem \[ \partial_t u +(-Δ)^\fracθ{2} u=|x|^{-γ} u^p ,\quad x\in{\bf R}^N, t>0, \qquad u(0)=μ\quad \mbox{in} \quad {\bf R}^N, \] where $N\ge 1$, $0<θ\le2$, $p>1$, $γ>0$ and $μ$ is a nonnegative Radon measure on ${\bf R}^N$. Using these conditions, we attempt to identify the optimal strength of the singularity of $μ$ for the existence of solutions to this problem.
In this paper, we present some suitable distributional identities of the solutions for nonhomogeneous elliptic equations involving the Hardy-Leray potentials and study qualitative properties of the solutions to the corresponding nonhomogeneous problems by the distributional identities. We address some applications on the nonexistence of some nonhomogeneous problems with the Hardy-Leray potentials and the nonexistence principle eigenvalue with some indefinite potentials.
We present the best constant and the existence of extremal functions for an Improved Hardy-Sobolev inequality. We prove that, under a proper transformation, this inequality is equivalent to the Sobolev inequality in $\mathbb{R}^N$. We also discuss the connection of the related functional spaces and as a result we obtain some Caffarelli - Kohn - Nirenberg inequalities. Our starting point is the existence of a minimizer for the Bliss' inequality and the indirect dependence of the Hardy inequality at the origin.
In this note we present the Pohozaev identity for the fractional Laplacian. As a consequence of this identity, we prove the nonexistence of nontrivial bounded solutions to semilinear problems with supercritical nonlinearities in star-shaped domains.
In this paper we study existence and nonexistence of nonnegative distributional solutions for a class of semilinear fractional elliptic equations involving the Hardy potential.
In this paper, we give a full classification of the nonexistence of positive weak solutions to the semilinear elliptic inequality involving the fractional Hardy potential in punctured and in exterior domains. Our methods are self-contained and new. The main ideas and key ingredients will be discussed in the next section after Theorem 1.1 for punctured domains, and after Theorem 1.4 for exterior domains. We will also explain why all the previous methods and techniques do not apply to our general setting. Let us give here a foretaste of our line of attack: Based on the imbalance between the Hard…
Some results on nonexistence of nontrivial solutions to some time and space fractional differential evolution equations with transformed space argument are obtained via the nonlinear capacity method. The analysis is then used for a $2\times 2$ system of equations with transformed space arguments.
In this paper, we are interested to analyze a nonlocal nonlinear parabolic equation with fractional Laplacian. We show that there are no nontrivial global weak solutions using the test function method.
In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem in $\mathbb{R}^N$, $N\geq1$, for semi-linear Schrödinger equations with space-time fractional derivatives. We discuss the nonexistence of global $L^1$ or $L^2$ weak solutions in the subcritical and critical cases under some conditions on the initial data and the nonlinear term. Furthermore, the nonexistence of local $L^1$ or $L^2$ weak solutions in the supercritical case are studied.
This paper is devoted to study the following Choquard equation \begin{eqnarray*}\left\{ \begin{array}{lll} (-\triangle)^{α/2}u=(|x|^{β-n}\ast u^p)u^{p-1},~~~&x\in R^n, u\geq0,\,\,&x\in R^n, \end{array} \right. \end{eqnarray*} where $0<α,β<2$, $1\leq p<\infty$, and $n\geq2$. Using a direct method of moving planes, we prove the symmetry and nonexistence of positive solutions in the critical and subcritical case respectively.
This paper is devoted to study the nonexistence results of positive solutions for the following fractional H$\acute{e}$non system \begin{eqnarray*}\left\{ \begin{array}{lll} &(-\triangle)^{α/2}u=|x|^av^p,~~~&x\in R^n, &(-\triangle)^{α/2}v=|x|^bu^q,~~~ &x\in R^n, &u\geq0, v\geq 0, \end{array} \right. \end{eqnarray*} where $0<α<2$, $0<p,q<\infty$, $a$, $b$ $\geq0$, $n\geq2$. Using a direct method of moving planes, we prove non-existence of positive solution in the subcritical case.
We study fractional parabolic equations with indefinite nonlinearities $$ \frac{\partial u} {\partial t}(x,t) +(-Δ)^s u(x,t)= x_1 u^p(x, t),\,\, (x, t) \in \mathbb{R}^n \times \mathbb{R}, $$ where $0<s<1$ and $1<p<\infty$. We first prove that all positive bounded solutions are monotone increasing along the $x_1$ direction. Based on this we derive a contradiction and hence obtain non-existence of solutions. These monotonicity and nonexistence results are crucial tools in a priori estimates and complete blow-up for fractional parabolic equations in bounded domains. To this end, we introduce seve…
We study a class of fractional elliptic problems of the form $\Ds u= f(u)$ in the half space $\R^N_+:=\{x \in \R^N\::\: x_1>0\}$ with the complementary Dirichlet condition $u \equiv 0$ in $\R^N \setminus \R^N_+$. Under mild assumptions on the nonlinearity $f$, we show that bounded positive solutions are increasing in $x_1$. For the special case $f(u)=u^q$, we deduce nonexistence of positive bounded solutions in the case where $q \ge 1$ and $q<\frac{N-1+2s}{N-1-2s}$ if $N \ge 1+2s$. We do not require integrability assumptions on the solutions we study.
For the following semilinear equation with Hilfer- Hadamard fractional derivative \begin{equation*} \mathcal{D}^{α_1,β}_{a^+} u-Δ\mathcal{D}^{α_2,β}_{a^+} u-Δu =\vert u\vert^p, \qquad t>a>0, \qquad x\inΩ, \end{equation*} where $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^N$ $(N\geqslant 1)$, $p>1$, $0<α_{2}<α_{1}<1$ and $0<β<1$. $\mathcal{D}^{α_i,β}_{a^+}$ $(i=1,2)$ is the Hilfer- Hadamard fractional derivative of order $α_i$ and of type $β$, we establish the necessary conditions for the existence of global solutions.
In this paper we study a class of fractional elliptic problems of the form $$ \Ds u= f(x,u) \quad \textrm{in} Øu=0\quad \textrm{in} \R^N \setminus Ø,$$ where $s\in(0,1)$. We prove nonexistence of positive solutions when $Ø$ is star-shaped and $f$ is supercritical. We also derive a nonexistence result for subcritical $f$ in some unbounded domains. The argument relies on the method of moving spheres applied to a reformulated problem using the Caffarelli-Silvestre extension \cite{CSilv} of a solution of the above problem. The standard approach in the case $s=1$ using Pohozaev type identities does…
We consider the Hardy-Hénon system $-Δu =|x|^a v^p$, $-Δv =|x|^b u^q$ with $p,q>0$ and $a,b\in {\mathbb R}$ and we are concerned in particular with the Liouville property, i.e. the nonexistence of positive solutions in the whole space ${\mathbb R}^N$. In view of known results, it is a natural conjecture that this property should be true if and only if $(N+a)/(p+1)+$ $(N+b)/(q+1)>N-2$. In this paper, we prove the conjecture for dimension N=3 in the case of bounded solutions and in dimensions $N\le 4$ when $a,b\le 0$, among other partial nonexistence results. As far as we know, this is the first…
We study the following elliptic system with critical exponent: \begin{displaymath} \begin{cases}-Δu_j-\frac{λ_j}{|x|^2}u_j=u_j^{2^*-1}+\sum\limits_{k\neq j}β_{jk}α_{jk}u_j^{α_{jk}-1}u_k^{α_{kj}},\;\;x\in\R^N, u_j\in D^{1,2}(\R^N),\quad u_j>0 \;\; \hbox{in} \quad \R^N\setminus \{0\},\quad j=1,...,r.\end{cases}\end{displaymath} Here $N\geq 3, r\geq2, 2^*=\frac{2N}{N-2}, λ_j\in (0, \frac{(N-2)^2}{4})$ for all $ j=1,...,r $; $β_{jk}=β_{kj}$; \; $α_{jk}>1, α_{kj}>1,$ satisfying $α_{jk}+α_{kj}=2^* $ for all $k\neq j$. Note that the nonlinearities $u_j^{2^*-1}$ and the coupling terms all are critical…
In this paper, we primarily consider the following semilinear elliptic equation \begin{eqnarray*} \arraycolsep=1pt\left\{ \begin{array}{lll} \displaystyle -Δu= h(x,u)\quad \ &{\rm in}\ Ω,\\[1.5mm] \phantom{ -Δ} \displaystyle u\ge 0\qquad &{\rm on}\ \partialΩ, \end{array}\right. \end{eqnarray*} where $Ω$ is an exterior domain in $R^N$ with $N\ge 3$, and derive optimal nonexistence results of positive supersolution. Our argument is based on a nonexistence result of positive supersolution of a linear elliptic problem with Hardy potential. We also establish sharp nonexistence results of positive s…

In this paper, we consider the following PDE involving two Sobolev-Hardy critical exponents, \label{0.1} {& Δu + λ\frac{u^{2^*(s_1)-1}}{|x|^{s_1}} + \frac{u^{2^*(s_2)-1}}{|x|^{s_2}} =0 \text{in} Ω, & u=0 \qquad \text{on} Ω, where $0 \le s_2 < s_1 \le 2$, $0 \ne λ\in \Bbb R$ and $0 \in \partial Ω$. The existence (or nonexistence) for least-energy solutions has been extensively studied when $s_1=0$ or $s_2=0$. In this paper, we prove that if $0< s_2 < s_1 <2$ and the mean curvature of $\partial Ω$ at 0 $H(0)<0$, then \eqref{0.1} has a least-energy solution. Therefore, this paper has completed th…
We prove Hardy's inequality for the fractional powers of the generalized sublaplacian and the fractional powers of the Grushin operator. We also find an integral representation and a ground state representation for the fractional powers of generalized sublaplacian.
We investigate the existence of extremals for Hardy-Sobolev inequalities involving the Dirichlet fractional Laplacian of order s, 0<s<1, on half-spaces.
Our main aim is to study Green function for the fractional Hardy operator $P:=(-Δ)^s -\fracθ{|x|^{2s}}$ in $\mathbb{R}^N$, where $0<θ<Λ_{N,s}$ and $Λ_{N,s}$ is the best constant in the fractional Hardy inequality. Using Green function, we also show that the integral representation of the weak solution holds.
Our aim in this article is to study semilinear elliptic equations involving a fractional Hardy operator, an absorption and a Radon source in a weighted distributional sense. We show various scenarios, produced by the combined effect of the fractional Hardy potential, the growth of the absorption term and the concentration of the measure, in which existence and uniqueness results holds.
A classification of local asymptotic profiles and strong unique continuation properties are established for a class of fractional heat equations with a Hardy-type potential, via an Almgren-Poon monotonicity formula combined with a blow-up analysis.
We prove the attainability of the best constant in the fractional Hardy--Sobolev inequality with boundary singularity for the Spectral Dirichlet Laplacian. The main assumption is the average concavity of the boundary at the origin.
We prove the coincidence of the Sobolev and Hardy constants relative to the "Dirichlet" and "Navier" fractional Laplacians of any real order $m\in(0,\frac{n}{2})$ over bounded domains in $\mathbb R^n$.
The present work is concerned with existence of positive solutions for a class of fractional equation involving a Kirchhoff term and singular potential.
We calculate the regional fractional Laplacian on some power function on an interval. As an application, we prove Hardy inequality with an extra term for the fractional Laplacian on the interval with the optimal constant. As a result, we obtain the fractional Hardy inequality with best constant and an extra lower-order term for general domains, following the method developed by M. Loss and C. Sloane [arXiv:0907.3054v1 [math.AP]]
We study linear and non-linear equations related to the fractional Hardy--Sobolev inequality. We prove nondegeneracy of ground state solutions to the basic equation and investigate existence and qualitative properties, including symmetry of solutions to some perturbed equations.
The general stability problem of truncations for a family of functions concentrating mass at the origin is described and a concrete example in the framework of entire optimizers for the fractional Hardy-Sobolev inequality is given. In this short note we point out some quantitative stability estimates, useful in dealing with critical $p-q$ fractional equations.
Local and global properties of minimal solutions for the heat equation generated by the Dirichlet fractional Laplacian negatively perturbed by Hardy's potentials on open subsets of $\R^d$ are analyzed. As a byproduct we obtain instantaneous blow-up of nonnegative solutions in the supercritical case.
In this paper, we study the existence of three solutions for a Kirchhoff equation involving the nonlocal fractional p-Laplacian considering Sobolev and Hardy nonlinearities at subcritical and critical growths. The proof is based on Mountain Pass Theorem, Ekeland's variational principle and constrained minimization in Nehari sets.
We obtain existence, multiplicity, and bifurcation results for the Brezis-Nirenberg problem for the fractional $p$\nobreakdash-Laplacian operator, involving critical Hardy-Sobolev exponents. Our results are mainly extend results in the literature for $α=0$. In the absence of an explicit formula for a minimizer in the fractional Hardy-Sobolev inequality $α\not= 0$, we get around this difficulty by working with certain asymptotic estimates for minimizers recently obtained in \cite{MM}.
