The \textbf{Co-Prime Order Graph} $Θ(G)$ of a given finite group is a simple undirected graph whose vertex set is the group $G$ itself, and any two vertexes x,y in $Θ(G)$ are adjacent if and only if $gcd(o(x),o(y))=1$ or prime. In this paper, we find a precise formula to count the degree of a vertex in the Co-Prime Order graph of a finite abelian group or Dihedral group $D_n$.We also investigate the Laplacian spectrum of the Co-Prime Order Graph $Θ(G)$ when G is finite abelian p-group, ${\mathbb{Z}_p}^t \times {\mathbb{Z}_q}^s$ or Dihedral group $D_{p^n}$.

In this paper, we find a strong new restriction on the structure of CI-groups. We show that, if $R$ is a generalised dihedral group and if $R$ is a CI-group, then for every odd prime $p$ the Sylow $p$-subgroup of $R$ has order $p$, or $9$. Consequently, any CI-group with quotient a generalised dihedral group has the same restriction, that for every odd prime $p$ the Sylow $p$-subgroup of the group has order $p$, or $9$. We also give a counter example to the conjecture that every BCI-group is a CI-group.
In this paper, we consider the problem on the existence of perfect state transfer(PST for short) on semi-Cayley graphs over abelian groups (which are not necessarily regular), i.e on the graphs having semiregular and abelian subgroups of automorphisms with two orbits of equal size. We stablish a characterization of semi-Cayley graphs over abelian groups having PST. As a result, we give a characterization of Cayley graphs over groups with an abelian subgroup of index 2 having PST, which improves the earlier results on Cayley graphs over abelian groups, dihedral groups and dicyclic group and det…
We study an impartial game introduced by Anderson and Harary. This game is played by two players who alternately choose previously-unselected elements of a finite group. The first player who builds a generating set from the jointly-selected elements wins. We determine the nim-numbers of this game for generalized dihedral groups, which are of the form $\operatorname{Dih}(A)= \mathbb{Z}_2 \ltimes A$ for a finite abelian group $A$.
The AH conjecture relates the low-dimensional homology groups of a groupoid with the abelianization of its topological full group. We show that transformation groupoids of minimal actions of the infinite dihedral group on the Cantor set satisfy this conjecture. The proof uses Kakutani-Rokhlin partitions adapted to such systems.
Let $G=\mathbf{Z}_{p} \oplus \mathbf{Z}_{p^2}$, where $p$ is a prime number. Suppose that $d$ is a divisor of the order of $G$. In this paper we find the number of automorphisms of $G$ fixing $d$ elements of $G$, and denote it by $θ(G,d)$. As a consequence, we prove a conjecture of Checco-Darling-Longfield-Wisdom. We also find the exact number of fixed-point-free automorphisms of the group $\mathbf{Z}_{p^{a}} \oplus \mathbf{Z}_{p^{b}}$, where $a$ and $b$ are positive integers with $a<b$. Finally, we compute $θ(D_{2q},d)$, where $D_{2q}$ is the dihedral group of order $2q$, $q$ is an odd prime …
In this article we determine the number of isotopic classes of transversals of a subgroup of order 2 in $ D_{2n}$ ($n$ is a positive odd integer greater than 1), where isotopism classes are formed with respect to the induced right loop structures. We also determine the cyclic index of the Affine group Aff$(1,p^{2})$, where $p$ is an odd prime.
Automorphic loops are loops in which all inner mappings are automorphisms. A large class of automorphic loops is obtained as follows: Let $m$ be a positive even integer, $G$ an abelian group, and $α$ an automorphism of $G$ that satisfies $α^2=1$ if $m>2$. Then the dihedral-like automorphic loop $\mathrm{Dih}(m,G,α)$ is defined on $\mathbb Z_m\times G$ by $(i,u)(j,v)=(i+j, ((-1)^{j}u+v)α^{ij})$. We prove that two finite dihedral-like automorphic loops $\mathrm{Dih}(m,G,α)$, $\mathrm{Dih}(\overline{m},\overline{G},\overlineα)$ are isomorphic if and only if $m=\overline{m}$, $G=\overline{G}$, and…
More than 50 years ago, Laszlo Fuchs asked which abelian groups can be the group of units of a ring. Though progress has been made, the question remains open. One could equally well pose the question for various classes of nonabelian groups. In this paper, we prove that D_2, D_4, D_6, D_8, and D_12 are the only dihedral groups that appear as the group of units of a ring of positive characteristic (or, equivalently, of a finite ring), and D_2 and D_4k, where k is odd, are the only dihedral groups that appear as the group of units of a ring of characteristic 0.
The enhanced power graph of a group $G$ is a simple undirected graph with vertex set $G$ and two vertices are adjacent if they belong to same cyclic subgroup. In this paper, we study distant properties and detour distant properties such as closure, interior, distance degree sequence and eccentric subgraph of the enhanced power graph of semidihedral group. Consequently, we obtained the metric dimension and resolving polynomial of the enhanced power graph of semidihedral group. At the final part of this paper, we obtained the Laplacian spectrum of the enhanced power graph of semidihedral, dihedr…
In by now classical work, K. Erdmann classified blocks of finite groups with dihedral defect groups (and more generally algebras of dihedral type) up to Morita equivalence. In the explicit description by quivers and relations of such algebras with two simple modules, several subtle problems about scalars occurring in relations remained unresolved. In particular, for the dihedral case it is a longstanding open question whether blocks of finite groups can occur for both possible scalars 0 and 1. In this article, using Kuelshammer ideals (a.k.a. generalized Reynolds ideals), we provide the first …

In this paper, we discuss about finite groups in which, CGH = NGH, for every abelian subgroup H of non prime power order. Also, we classify all such nilpotent and minimal non nilpotent groups.
Let $G$ be a finite group and assume $p$ is a prime dividing the order of $G$. Suppose for any such $p$, that every two abelian $p$-subgroups of $G$ of equal order are conjugate. The structure of such a group $G$ has been settled in this article.
It is shown that a finite group in which more than 3/4 of the elements are involutions must be an elementary abelian 2-group. A group in which exactly 3/4 of the elements are involutions is characterized as the direct product of the dihedral group of order 8 with an elementary abelian 2-group.
In this paper, we arrive at the structure for $G^{ab}(= G/G')$ from a presentation for $G$. We also prove that the frattini subgroup of the abelianization is $G^p$ or the quotient of $G^p$ by the derived subgroup $G'$.
A set of quasi-uniform random variables $X_1,...,X_n$ may be generated from a finite group $G$ and $n$ of its subgroups, with the corresponding entropic vector depending on the subgroup structure of $G$. It is known that the set of entropic vectors obtained by considering arbitrary finite groups is much richer than the one provided just by abelian groups. In this paper, we start to investigate in more detail different families of non-abelian groups with respect to the entropic vectors they yield. In particular, we address the question of whether a given non-abelian group $G$ and some fixed sub…
We obtain a classification of the finite two-generated cyclic-by-abelian groups of prime-power order. For that we associate to each such group $G$ a list $\inv(G)$ of numerical group invariants which determines the isomorphism type of $G$. Then we describe the set formed by all the possible values of $\inv(G)$. This allows computer implementations for constructing all the finite-two generated cyclic-by-abelian groups of a given prime-power order, computing the invariants of such a group, and to decide whether two such groups are isomorphic.
We prove that there exist infinitely many a non-abelian strongly real Beauville $p$-group for every prime $p$. Previously only finitely many in the case $p=2$ have been constructed.
For every $p$-group of order $p^n$ with the derived subgroup of order $p^m$, Rocco in \cite{roc} has shown that the order of tensor square of $G$ is at most $p^{n(n-m)}$. In the present paper not only we improve his bound for non-abelian $p$-groups but also we describe the structure of all non-abelian $p$-groups when the bound is attained for a special case. Moreover, our results give as well an upper bound for the order of $π_3(SK(G, 1))$.
We obtain a simple family of solutions to the set-theoretic Yang-Baxter equation, one which depends only on considering special endomorphisms of a finite group. We show how such an endomorphism gives rise to two non-degenerate solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation, solutions which are inverse to each other. We give concrete examples using dihedral, alternating, symmetric, and metacyclic groups.
Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 2, and let $G$ be a finite group. Suppose $B$ is a block of $kG$ with dihedral defect groups such that there are precisely two isomorphism classes of simple $B$-modules. The description by Erdmann of the quiver and relations of the basic algebra of $B$ is usually only given up to a certain parameter $c$ which is either 0 or 1. In this article, we show that $c=0$ if there exists a central extension $\hat{G}$ of $G$ by a group of order 2 together with a block $\hat{B}$ of $k\hat{G}$ with generalized quaternion defect groups such that $B$…
We prove that for any two continuous minimal (topologically free) actions of the infinite dihedral group on an infinite compact Hausdorff space, they are continuously orbit equivalent only if they are conjugate. We also show the above fails if we replace the infinite dihedral group with certain other virtually cyclic groups, e.g. the direct product of the integer group with any non-abelian finite simple group.
For each Sophie Germain prime $g \geq 5,$ we construct an absolutely simple polarized abelian variety of dimension $g$ over a finite field, whose automorphism group is a cyclic group of order $4g+2$. We also provide a description on the asymptotic behavior of prime numbers that are related to our construction.
Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$ and $G$ a finite group. We provide a description of the torsion subgroup $TT(G)$ of the finitely generated abelian group $T(G)$ of endo-trivial $kG$-modules when $p=2$ and $G$ has a dihedral Sylow $2$-subgroup $P$. We prove that, in the case $|P|\geq 8$, $TT(G)\cong X(G)$ the group of one-dimensional $kG$-modules, except possibly when $G/O_{2'}(G)\cong \mathfrak{A}_6$, the alternating group of degree $6$; in which case $G$ may have $9$-dimensional simple torsion endo-trivial modules. We also prove a similar result in the case $|P…
Let G be a non-abelian group and Z(G) be the center of G. The non-commuting graph Γ(G) of G is a graph with vertex set is non central elements of G and two vertices x, y are adjacent if and only if they are commute. In this paper we calculate the energy, Laplacian energy and spectrum of non-commuting graph of dihedral group D2n. Also we will obtain the energy of non-commuting graph of D2n \times D2n and G \times H, where G is a non-abelian finite group and H is an abelian finite group
Presentations for the holomorphs of abelian groups of the form $C_{p^n} \times 1^{m}$ for $p$=2 or an odd prime are given. These presentations extend the results given in Burnside's well-known text on finite groups on the holomorphs for the cyclic groups of orders $p^n$ for $p$ being an odd or even prime.
We show that a profinite group with the same first-order theory as the direct product over all odd primes $p$ of the dihedral group of order $2p$, is necessarily isomorphic to this direct product.
Finite groups with very few character values are characterized. The following is the main result of this article: a finite non-abelian group has precisely four character values if and only if it is the generalized dihedral group of a non-trivial elementary abelian $3$-group. The proof involves the analysis of the centralizers of involutions.
We explore when generator-conjugate homomorphisms are conjugate and when element-conjugate homomorphisms are conjugate from abelian or dihedral groups to the symmetric group. We completely determine when such homomorphisms are conjugate in the case where the source group has two generators by studying centralizer actions in the target group.
