Recent years have seen an increasing emphasis on information security, and various encryption methods have been proposed. However, for symmetric encryption methods, the well-known encryption techniques still rely on the key space to guarantee security and suffer from frequent key updating. Aiming to solve those problems, this paper proposes a novel text encryption method based on deep learning called TEDL, where the secret key includes hyperparameters in deep learning model and the core step of encryption is transforming input data into weights trained under hyperparameters. Firstly, both communication parties establish a word vector table by training a deep learning model according to specified hyperparameters. Then, a self-update codebook is constructed on the word vector table with the SHA-256 function and other tricks. When communication starts, encryption and decryption are equivalent to indexing and inverted indexing on the codebook, respectively, thus achieving the transformation between plaintext and ciphertext. Results of experiments and relevant analyses show that TEDL performs well for security, efficiency, generality, and has a lower demand for the frequency of key redistribution. Especially, as a supplement to current encryption methods, the time-consuming process of constructing a codebook increases the difficulty of brute-force attacks while not degrade the communication efficiency.
This paper discloses a simple algorithm for encrypting text messages, based on the NP-completeness of the subset sum problem, such that the similarity between encryptions is roughly proportional to the semantic similarity between their generating messages. This allows parties to compare encrypted messages for semantic overlap without trusting an intermediary and might be applied, for example, as a means of finding scientific collaborators over the Internet.
The need for privacy-preserving analytics is higher than ever due to the severity of privacy risks and to comply with new privacy regulations leading to an amplified interest in privacy-preserving techniques that try to balance between privacy and utility. In this work, we present an efficient method for Text Classification while preserving the privacy of the content using Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). Our system (named \textbf{Priv}ate \textbf{F}ast \textbf{T}ext (PrivFT)) performs two tasks: 1) making inference of encrypted user inputs using a plaintext model and 2) training an effecti…
In this paper, we present a new identity-based encryption (IBE) scheme using bilinear pairings. Our IBE scheme enjoys the same \textsf{Key Extraction} and \textsf{Decryption} algorithms with the famous IBE scheme of Boneh and Franklin (BF-IBE for short), while differs from the latter in that it has modified \textsf{Setup} and \textsf{Encryption} algorithms. Compared with BF-IBE, we show that ours are more practical in a multiple private key generator (PKG) environment, mainly due to that the session secret $g_{ID}$ could be pre-computed \emph{before} any interaction, and the sender could encry…

Data treatment is used to transform the plain text into cipher text which provides excellent security
In many research works, there has been an orientation to studying and developing many of the applications of public-key cryptography to secure the data while transmitting in the systems, In this paper we present an approach to encrypt and decrypt the message text according to the ASCII(American Standard Code for Information Interchange) and RSA algorithm by converting the message text into binary representation and dividing this representation to bytes(8s of 0s and 1s) and applying a bijective function between the group of those bytes and the group of characters of ASCII and then using this me…
Recognition systems are commonly designed to authenticate users at the access control levels of a system. A number of voice recognition methods have been developed using a pitch estimation process which are very vulnerable in low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) environments thus, these programs fail to provide the desired level of accuracy and robustness. Also, most text independent speaker recognition programs are incapable of coping with unauthorized attempts to gain access by tampering with the samples or reference database. The proposed text-independent voice recognition system makes use of mu…
Multimedia data security is becoming important with the continuous increase of digital communications on internet. The encryption algorithms developed to secure text data are not suitable for multimedia application because of the large data size and real time constraint. In this paper, classification and description of various video encryption algorithms are presented. Analysis and Comparison of these algorithms with respect to various parameters like visual degradation, encryption ratio, speed, compression friendliness, format compliance and cryptographic security is presented.
In poly alphabetic substitution the plain texts letters are enciphered differently according to their position. The name poly alphabetic suggests that there are more than one key so we have used two keys combination instead of just one, in order to produce the cipher text. We can also use three or more keys to make the enciphering process more complicated. In this paper have produced ASCII Codes of the plain text and then we have reversed it said reverse ASCII Codes and then we have generated two keys K1 is generated by addition of reverse ASCII Codes and K2 is generated by addition of ASCII C…
With meteoric developments in communication systems and data storage technologies, the need for secure data transmission is more crucial than ever. The level of security provided by any cryptosystem relies on the sensitivity of the private key, size of the key space as well as the trapdoor function being used. In order to satisfy the aforementioned constraints, there has been a growing interest over the past few years, in studying the behavior of chaotic systems and their applications in various fields such as data encryption due to characteristics like randomness, unpredictability and sensiti…
In this work, we extend the Constructive Cryptography (CC) framework introduced by Maurer in 2011 so as to handle interactive protocols. We design and construct a so-called {\em Interactive Server Memory Resource} (ISMR), that is an augmented version of the basic instantiation of a client-server protocol in CC, namely the Server Memory Resource. We then apply our ISMR construction to two types of interactive cryptographic protocols for remote storage : Updatable Encryption (UE) and Private Information Retrieval (PIR). Concerning UE, our results are a composable version of those protocols, clar…
This paper is aimed to evaluate the importance of XML Signature and XML Encryption in Web Service Security. In today's business scenario, organizations are investing huge amount of resources in Web Services. Web Service Transactions are done mainly through plain-text XML formats like SOAP and WSDL, hence hacking into them is not a tedious task. XML Signature and XML Encryption ensure security to XML documents as well as retain the structure of documents, thereby making it easy to implement them. These two methods are evaluated on the parameters of authentication, authorization, integration, co…
In the use of a cloud storage, sharing of data with efficient access control is an important requirement in addition to data security and privacy. Cui et al. (IEEE Trans. on Comp. 2016) proposed \textit{key-aggregate searchable encryption (KASE)}, which allows a data owner to issue an \textit{aggregate key} that enables a user to search in an authorized subset of encrypted files by generating an encrypted keyword called \textit{trapdoor}. While the idea of KASE is elegant, to the best of our knowledge, its security has never been discussed formally. In this paper, we discuss the security of KA…
Today, the protection of information, ensuring of the safety and the recall in lossless in case of need is highly significant and it is seen as a major threat in the field. Information security is possible by hiding the available data, by encrypting, saving, transmitting and sharing. At this point, cryptology subject comes up. Cryptology called as password science includes with the encrypting according to a certain technique of different texts and the transmitting these messages to the recipient in a secure environment. In this study, in information security scope, an original data encryption …
This paper introduces a completely new approach to encryption based on group theoretic quantum framework. Quantum cryptography has essentially focused only on key distribution and proceeded with classical encryption algorithm with the generated key. Here, we present a first step towards a quantum encryption scheme based on the solution for the hidden subgroup problem. The shared secret key K from QKD evolves as a generator for a subgroup H of a group G, in combination of the plain text data modeled as group elements. The key K helps in regeneration of the plain data on the receiver's side base…
Recently, a few chosen-ciphertext secure (CCA2-secure) variants of the McEliece public-key encryption (PKE) scheme in the standard model were introduced. All the proposed schemes are based on encryption repetition paradigm and use general transformation from CPA-secure scheme to a CCA2-secure one. Therefore, the resulting encryption scheme needs \textit{separate} encryption and has \textit{large} key size compared to the original scheme, which complex public key size problem in the code-based PKE schemes. Thus, the proposed schemes are not sufficiently efficient to be used in practice. In this…
This letter presents a cryptanalysis of the modified McEliece cryptosystem recently proposed by Moufek, Guenda and Gulliver [24]. The system is based on the juxtaposition of quasi-cyclic LDPC and quasi-cyclic MDPC codes. The idea of our attack is to find an alternative permutation matrix together with an equivalent LDPC code which allow the decoding of any cipher-text with a very high probability. We also apply a recent technique to determine weak keys [4] for this scheme. The results show that the probability of weak keys is high enough that this variant can be ruled out as a possible secure …
In this paper, we study a block cipher based on cellular automata, proposed by Seredynski and Bouvry in \cite{semabo04} against \emph{plain-text avalanche criteria} and \emph{randomness} tests. Our experiments shows that Seredynski-Bouvry encryption scheme does not pass some NIST statistical tests by neighborhood radius less than three. It also showed that if the CA rule is selected carelessly, it weaken the security of scheme. Therefor, the selection of CA-rule as part of key can not be left to the user. Hence, cryptographic properties such as balancedness and non-linearity should be consider…
Although good encryption functions are probabilistic, most symbolic models do not capture this aspect explicitly. A typical solution, recently used to prove the soundness of such models with respect to computational ones, is to explicitly represent the dependency of ciphertexts on random coins as labels. In order to make these label-based models useful, it seems natural to try to extend the underlying decision procedures and the implementation of existing tools. In this paper we put forth a more practical alternative based on the following soundness theorem. We prove that for a large class of …
This paper analyzes the security of an image encryption algorithm proposed by Ye and Huang [\textit{IEEE MultiMedia}, vol. 23, pp. 64-71, 2016]. The Ye-Huang algorithm uses electrocardiography (ECG) signals to generate the initial key for a chaotic system and applies an autoblocking method to divide a plain image into blocks of certain sizes suitable for subsequent encryption. The designers claimed that the proposed algorithm is "strong and flexible enough for practical applications". In this paper, we perform a thorough analysis of their algorithm from the view point of modern cryptography. W…
A discrete-time discrete-value pseudo-chaotic encoder/decoder system is presented. The pseudo-chaotic module is a 3D discrete version of the well-known Lorenz dynamical system. Scaling and biasing transformations as well as natural number arithmetics are employed in order to simplify realizations on a small size Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA. The encryption ability is improved by using only the least significant byte of one of the pseudo chaotic state variables as the key to encrypt the plain text. The key is periodically perturbed by another chaotic state variable. The statistical prope…
This article defines encrypted gate, which is denoted by $EG[U]:|α\rangle\rightarrow\left((a,b),Enc_{a,b}(U|α\rangle)\right)$. We present a gate-teleportation-based two-party computation scheme for $EG[U]$, where one party gives arbitrary quantum state $|α\rangle$ as input and obtains the encrypted $U$-computing result $Enc_{a,b}(U|α\rangle)$, and the other party obtains the random bits $a,b$. Based on $EG[P^x](x\in\{0,1\})$, we propose a method to remove the $P$-error generated in the homomorphic evaluation of $T/T^\dagger$-gate. Using this method, we design two non-interactive and perfectly …
In this paper, we propose new classes of trapdoor functions to solve the closest vector problem in lattices. Specifically, we construct lattices based on properties of polynomials for which the closest vector problem is hard to solve unless some trapdoor information is revealed. We thoroughly analyze the security of our proposed functions using state-of-the-art attacks and results on lattice reductions. Finally, we describe how our functions can be used to design quantum-safe encryption schemes with reasonable public key sizes. In particular, our scheme can offer around $106$ bits of security …
- In this paper a session based symmetric key encryption system has been proposed and is termed as Permutated Cipher Technique (PCT). This technique is more fast, suitable and secure for larger files. In this technique the input file is broken down into blocks of various sizes (of 2 power n order) and encrypted by shifting the position of each bit by a certain value for a certain number of times. A key is generated randomly wherein the length of each block is determined. Each block length generates a unique value of number of bits to be skipped. This value determines the new position of the bi…
As mobile devices become ubiquitous, people around the world have enjoyed the convenience they have brought to our lives. At the same time, the increasing security threats that rise from using mobile devices not only have caught attention from cyber security agencies but also have become a valid concern for mobile users. Keylogging is one of the mobile security threats caused by using insecure third-party IME (input method editor) applications. Keylogging, as the name suggests, keeps track of user\rq s key events performed on the device and stores all the events in a log. The log could include…
The Encrypted File System (EFS) pushes encryption services into the file system itself. EFS supports secure storage at the system level through a standard UNIX file system interface to encrypted files. User can associate a cryptographic key with the directories they wish to protect. Files in these directories (as well as their pathname components) are transparently encrypted and decrypted with the specified key without further user intervention; clear text is never stored on a disk or sent to a remote file server. EFS can use any available file system for its underlying storage without modific…

Homomorphic Encryption (HE) is a set of powerful properties of certain cryptosystems that allow for privacy-preserving operation over the encrypted text. Still, HE is not widespread due to limitations in terms of efficiency and usability. Among the challenges of HE, scheme parametrization (i.e., the selection of appropriate parameters within the algorithms) is a relevant multi-faced problem. First, the parametrization needs to comply with a set of properties to guarantee the security of the underlying scheme. Second, parametrization requires a deep understanding of the low-level primitives sin…

The control of the cryptography is more than ever a recurrent issue. As the current international regulation does not apply in the signatory countries, the concept of enforcing backdoors in encryption system is reborn with more strength. This paper deals with a particular class of stream cipher backdoors. This class, under a different form, has been widely used by the industry in the 80s and 90s in the context of the export control rules imposed by the US to the Western countries. We propose here a new system -- called BSEA-2, with a 128-bit secret key -- which is a seemingly minor modificatio…
Various cryptographic techniques are used in outsourced database systems to ensure data privacy while allowing for efficient querying. This work proposes a definition and components of a new secure and efficient outsourced database system, which answers various types of queries, with different privacy guarantees in different security models. This work starts with the survey of five order-revealing encryption schemes that can be used directly in many database indices and five range query protocols with various security / efficiency tradeoffs. The survey systematizes the state-of-the-art range q…
This paper describes a novel bit level stream cipher based symmetric key cryptographic technique. At first, sender and receiver agree upon a symmetric key. Then the symmetric key is formed using Greatest Common Divisor (G.C.D) of sum of even or odd bit positional weightth even or odd number and a symmetric key value is derived from the symmetric by the sender. The symmetric key value is XORed with the ASCII value of the plain text character to get the cipher text character. This is repeated for the entire plain text file. The symmetric key and the entire cipher text file is sent by the sender …
Biometric key generation techniques are used to reliably generate cryptographic material from biometric signals. Existing constructions require users to perform a particular activity (e.g., type or say a password, or provide a handwritten signature), and are therefore not suitable for generating keys continuously. In this paper we present a new technique for biometric key generation from free-text keystroke dynamics. This is the first technique suitable for continuous key generation. Our approach is based on a scaled parity code for key generation (and subsequent key reconstruction), and can b…
In this paper, a multilayer perceptron guided key generation for encryption/decryption (MLPKG) has been proposed through recursive replacement using mutated character code generation for wireless communication of data/information. Multilayer perceptron transmitting systems at both ends accept an identical input vector, generate an output bit and the network are trained based on the output bit which is used to form a protected variable length secret-key. For each session, different hidden layer of multilayer neural network is selected randomly and weights or hidden units of this selected hidden…
In symmetric key cryptography the sender as well as the receiver possess a common key. Asymmetric key cryptography involves generation of two distinct keys which are used for encryption and decryption correspondingly. The sender converts the original message to cipher text using the public key while the receiver can decipher this using his private key. This is also called Public Key Cryptography. For every public key there can exist only one private key that can decipher the encrypted text. Security of RSA Algorithm can be compromised using mathematical attack, by guessing the factors of a lar…
Caesar cipher is an ancient, elementary method of encrypting plain text message to protect it from adversaries. However, with the advent of powerful computers there is a need for increasing the complexity of such algorithms. In this paper, we contribute in the area of classical cryptography by providing a modified approach and expanded version for Caesar cipher using knowledge of mathematics and computer science. To increase the strength of this classical encryption technique we use the concepts of affine ciphers, transposition ciphers and randomized substitution techniques to create a cipher …
Due to resource restricted sensor nodes, it is important to minimize the amount of data transmission among sensor networks. To reduce the amount of sending data, an aggregation approach can be applied along the path from sensors to the sink. However, as sensor networks are often deployed in untrusted and even hostile environments, sensor nodes are prone to node compromise attacks. Hence, an end-to-end secure aggregation approach is required to ensure a healthy data reception. In this paper, we propose two layers for secure data aggregation in sensor networks. Firstly, we provide an end-to-end …
