In this paper, the $D\to P(π, K)$ helicity form factors (HFFs) are studied by applying the QCD light-cone sum rule (LCSR) approach. The calculation accuracy is up to next-to-leading order (NLO) gluon radiation correction of twist-(2,3) distribution amplitude. The resultant HFFs at large recoil point are ${\cal P}_{t,0}^π(0) = 0.688^{+0.020}_{-0.024}$, ${\cal P}_{t,0}^K(0)=0.780^{+0.024}_{-0.029}$. In which, the contributions from three particles of the leading order (LO) are so small that can be safely neglected, and the maximal contribution of the NLO gluon radiation correction for ${\cal P}_{t,0}^{π,K}(0)$ is less than $3\%$. After extrapolating the LCSR predictions for these HFFs to whole $q^2$-region, we obtain the decay widths for semileptonic decay processes $D\to P\ellν_\ell$, which are consistent with BES-III collaboration predictions within errors. After considering the $D^{+}/D^{0}$-meson lifetime, we give the branching fractions of $D\to P\ellν_\ell$ with $\ell = e, μ$, our predictions also agree with BES-III collaboration within errors, especially for $D\to π\ellν_\ell$ decay process. Finally, we present the forward-backward asymmetry ${\cal A}_{\rm FB}^\ell(q^2)$ and lepton convexity parameter ${\cal C}_F^\ell(q^2)$, and further calculate the mean value of these two observations $\langle{\cal A}_{\rm FB}^\ell\rangle$ and $\langle{\cal C}_F^\ell\rangle$, which may provide a way to test those HFFs in future experiments.
We complete the set of QCD light-cone sum rules for $B\to ππ$ transition form factors, deriving a new sum rule for the timelike-helicity form factor $F_t$ in terms of dipion distribution amplitudes. This sum rule, in the leading twist-2 approximation, is directly related to the pion vector form factor. Employing a relation between $F_t$ and other $B\to ππ$ form factors we obtain also the longitudinal-helicity form factor $F_0$. In this way, all four (axial-)vector $B\to ππ$ form factors are predicted from light-cone sum rules with dipion distribution amplitudes. These results are valid for sma…
Starting from a one-body front-form equation with Lepage-Brodsky spinors we show, with a fair amount of new technology, how an integral equation in standard momentum space with Bjorken-Drell spinors can be obtained. The integral equation decouples for singlets and triplets.
The helicity form factors of the $D_{(s)}\to A \ell^+ ν$ with $A=a_{1}^{-}, a_{1}^{0}, b_{1}^{-}, b_{1}^{0}, K_{1}(1270)$ and $K_{1}(1400)$ are calculated in the light-cone sum rules approach, up to twist-3 distribution amplitudes of the axial vector meson $A$. In the helicity form factors parametrization the unitarity constraints are applied to the fitting parameters. In addition, the effects of the low-lying resonances are included in series expansions of aforementioned form factors. The properties of the $D_{(s)}\to A \ell^+ ν$ semileptonic decays are studied by extending the form factors t…
We study the $B \to ρ$ helicity form factors (HFFs) by applying the light-cone sum rules up to twist-4 accuracy. The HFF has some advantages in comparison to the conventionally calculated transition form factors, such as the HFF parameterization can be achieved via diagonalizable unitarity relations and etc. At the large recoil point, only the $ρ$-meson longitudinal component contributes to the HFFs, and we have $\mathcal{H}_{ρ,0}(0)=0.435^{+0.055}_{-0.045}$ and $\mathcal{H}_{ρ,\{1,2\}}(0)\equiv 0$. We extrapolate the HFFs to physically allowable $q^2$-region and apply them to the $B \to ρ$ se…
The spin structure of the pion is discussed by transforming the wave function for the pion in the naive quark model into a light-cone representation. It is shown that there are higher helicity ($λ_{1}+λ_{2}=\pm1$) states in the full light-cone wave function for the pion besides the ordinary helicity ($λ_{1}+λ_{2}=0$) component wave functions as a consequence from the Melosh rotation relating spin states in light-front dynamics and those in instant-form dynamics. Some low energy properties of the pion, such as the electromagnetic form factor, the charged mean square radius, and the weak decay c…
Precision studies of scattering processes at colliders provide powerful indirect constraints on new physics. We study the helicity structure of scattering amplitudes in the SM and in the context of an effective Lagrangian description of BSM dynamics. Our analysis reveals a novel set of helicity selection rules according to which, in the majority of 2 to 2 scattering processes at high energy, the SM and the leading BSM effects do not interfere. In such situations, the naive expectation that dimension-6 operators represent the leading BSM contribution is compromised, as corrections from dimensio…
For obtaining the spin space wave function of the pion meson in the light-cone formalism from the naive quark model, it is necessary to take into account Wigner rotation. Consequently there are higher helicity ($λ_1+λ_2=\pm 1$) components in the light-cone spin space wave function of the pion besides the usual helicity ($λ_1+λ_2=0$) components. For the pion electromagnetic form factor, we calculate the hard-scattering amplitude for the higher helicity components in the light-cone perturbation theory. It is found that the hard-scattering amplitude for the higher helicity components is of order …
The $γ^\ast N \to N^\ast (1520)$ reaction is studied in framework of the light cone QCD sum rules method. The sum rules for the multipole form factors, namely, for the magnetic dipole $G_M(Q^2)$, electric quadrupole $G_E(Q^2)$, and Coulomb quadrupole $G_C(Q^2)$, form factors responsible for for the $γ^\ast N \to N^\ast (1520)$ transition are derived. Using these sum rules, the helicity amplitudes are presented as the combinations of these multipole form factors, and their $Q^2$ dependences are studied. We compare our results on the helicity amplitudes with those of the spectator model predicti…
Light cone QCD sum rules for the electromagnetic transition form factors among positive and negative parity octet baryons are derived. The unwanted contributions of the diagonal transitions among positive parity octet baryons are eliminated by combining the sum rules derived from different Lorentz structures. The $Q^2$ dependence for the transversal and longitudinal helicity amplitudes are studied.
We develop methods needed to perform loop calculations in light cone perturbation theory using a helicity basis, refining the method introduced in our earlier work. In particular this includes implementing a consistent way to contract the four-dimensional tensor structures from the helicity vectors with d-dimensional tensors arising from loop integrals, in a way that can be fully automatized. We demonstrate this explicitly by calculating the one-loop correction to the virtual photon to quark-antiquark dipole light cone wave function. This allows us to calculate the deep inelastic scattering cr…
We evaluate the light-quark meson contributions to three exact light-by-light scattering sum rules in light of new data by the Belle Collaboration, which recently has extracted the transition form factors of the tensor meson $f_2(1270)$ as well as of the scalar meson $f_0(980)$. We confirm a previous finding that the $η, η^\prime$ and helicity-2 $f_2(1270)$ contributions saturate one of these sum rules up to photon virtualities around 1 GeV$^2$. At larger virtualities, our sum rule analysis shows an important contribution of the $f_2(1565)$ meson and provides a first empirical extraction of it…
We present a systematical study on the kaon electromagnetic form factors $F_{K^{\pm},K^0,\bar{K}^0}(Q^2)$ within the $k_T$ factorization formalism, where the transverse momentum effects, the contributions from the different helicity components and different twist structures of the kaon light-cone (LC) wave function are carefully analyzed for giving a well understanding of the hard contributions at the energy region where pQCD is applicable. The right power behavior of the hard contribution from the higher helicity components and from the higher twist structures can be obtained by keeping the $…

The hadronic decays of $χ_{c1}\to VV$ and $χ_{c2}\to VP$ are supposed to be suppressed by the helicity selection rule in the pQCD framework. With an effective Lagrangian method, we show that the intermediate charmed meson loops can provide a mechanism for the evasion of the helicity selection rule, and result in sizeable decay branching ratios in some of those channels. The theoretical predictions can be examined by the forthcoming BES-III data in the near future.
We investigate the long distance contribution via charmed hadron loops in the processes $η_c$, $χ_{c0}$ and $h_c$ decaying to baryon anti-baryon pairs, which are supposed to be highly suppressed by the helicity selection rule as a consequence of the perturbative QCD framework. With an effective Lagrangian method, our estimation result indicates that such hadron loops play an important role in these hadronic decays. It is a further test of the evading mechanism for the helicity selection rule in charmonium baryon-antibaryon decays.

We remark that the high energy gauge boson scattering processes involving two-body initial and final states, satisfy certain selection rules described as helicity conservation of the \underline{gauge boson} amplitudes (GBHC). These rules are valid at Born level, as well as at the level of the leading and sub-leading 1-loop logarithmic corrections, in both the Standard Model (SM) and the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). A "fermionic equivalence" theorem is also proved, which suggests that GBHC is valid at all orders in MSSM at sufficiently high energies, where the mass suppressed c…
In this article, we use the light-cone QCD sum rules to relate the $Λ_b$ baryon light-cone distribution amplitudes to the Isgur-Wise function $ξ(ω)$ of the $Λ_b \to Λ_c$ transition, and obtain a simple relation. The numerical value of the Isgur-Wise function $ξ(ω)$ is consistent with the prediction of the QCD sum rules.

We classify the hadron light-cone wave-function amplitudes in terms of parton helicity, orbital angular momentum, and quark flavor and color symmetries. We show in detail how this is done for the pion, $ρ$ meson, nucleon, and delta resonance up to and including three partons. For the pion and nucleon, we also consider four-parton amplitudes. Using the scaling law derived recently, we show how these amplitudes scale in the limit that all parton transverse momenta become large.

We have analyzed the $B\to π$ and $B_{s}\to K$ semileptonic form factors and $B\to Vγ(V=K^*,ρ,ω)$ processes in the light-cone QCD sum rules. In order to enhance the predictivity and reliability of numerical results the chiral-current correlator is employed and the twist-3 light-cone wavefunction can be effectively eliminated from the sum rules.

We investigate the $a_0K^+K^-$-vertex in the framework of light cone QCD sum rules. We estimate the coupling constant g$_{a_0K^+K^-}$ which is an essential ingredient in the analysis of physical processes involving $a_0(980)$ meson. Our result is somewhat larger than the previous determinations of this coupling constant.
New sum rules for $B\to π,K $ and $B\to ρ,K^*$ form factors are derived from the correlation functions expanded near the light-cone in terms of B-meson distribution amplitudes. The contributions of quark-antiquark and quark-antiquark-gluon components in the B meson are taken into account. Models for the B-meson three-particle distribution amplitudes are suggested, based on QCD sum rules in HQET. Employing the new light-cone sum rules we calculate the form factors at small momentum transfers, including $SU(3)_{fl}$ violation effects. The results agree with the predictions of the conventional li…
We applied QCD Light Cone Sum Rules to estimate power corrections to the helicity-conserving amplitude in the process $γ^*γ\to ππ$. We found that above $Q^2 \sim 4$ GeV$^2$ power corrections are numerically small and the twist-2 part dominates. The amplitude can be reliably calculated in this region using models of $2 π$ distribution amplitudes as an input. We found that the magnitude of the NLO corrections depends rather strongly on the normalization of the gluonic distribution amplitude.
Light cone perturbation theory has become an essential tool to calculate cross sections for various small-$x$ dilute-dense processes such as deep inelastic scattering and forward proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions. Here we set out to do one loop calculations in an explicit helicity basis in the four dimensional helicity scheme. As a first process we calculate light cone wave function for one gluon emission to one-loop order in Hamiltonian perturbation theory on the light front. We regulate ultraviolet divergences with transverse dimensional regularization and soft divergences with usi…

We suggest a new approach for calculating heavy-to-light form factors. The method is based on light cone sum rules (LCSR) and covers the whole kinematical range of momentum transfer. The derivation of the new sum rule uses a suitable combination of double and single dispersion integrals. As an example we give numerical results for the form factor f^+ for the B -> pion transition.

In calculations, we observe that the line-shapes of the $B$-meson light-cone distribution amplitude $ϕ_+(ω)$ have significant impacts on the values of the form-factors, and expect to obtain severe constraints on the parameters of the $B$-meson light-cone distribution amplitudes from the experimental data in the future.
Strong decay constants of the heavy tensor to heavy pseudoscalar (vector) and light pseudoscalar mesons are estimated within the light cone QCD sum rules. It is obtained that the values of these coupling constants are very strongly dependent on the choice of the Lorentz structure. Moreover, using these strong coupling constants the corresponding decay widths are calculated.

In this article, we calculate the strong coupling constant $g_{ΔNπ}$ and study the strong decay $Δ^{++} \to pπ$ with the light-cone QCD sum rules. The numerical value of the strong coupling constant $g_{ΔNπ}$ is consistent with the experimental data. The small discrepancy maybe due to failure to take into account the perturbative $\mathcal {O}(α_s)$ corrections.
