We present a systematical study on the kaon electromagnetic form factors $F_{K^{\pm},K^0,\bar{K}^0}(Q^2)$ within the $k_T$ factorization formalism, where the transverse momentum effects, the contributions from the different helicity components and different twist structures of the kaon light-cone (LC) wave function are carefully analyzed for giving a well understanding of the hard contributions at the energy region where pQCD is applicable. The right power behavior of the hard contribution from the higher helicity components and from the higher twist structures can be obtained by keeping the $k_T$ dependence in the hard amplitude. Our results show that the $k_T$ dependence in LC wave function affects the hard and soft contributions substantially and the power-suppressed terms (twist-3 and higher helicity components) make an important contribution below $Q^2\sim several GeV^2$ although they drop fast as $Q^2$ increasing. The parameters of the proposed model wave function can be fixed by the first two moments of its distribution amplitude and other conditions. By varying the first two moments $a^K_1(1GeV)$ and $a^K_2(1GeV)$ with the region of $0.05\pm0.02$ and $0.10\pm 0.05$ respectively, we find that the uncertainty of the kaon electromagnetic form factor is rather small.
We apply the transverse momentum dependent factorization formalism to investigate the transverse single spin dependent Collins asymmetry with a $\sin(ϕ_h+ϕ_s)$ modulation in the semi-inclusive production of Kaon meson in deep inelastic scattering process. The asymmetry is contributed by the convolutions of the transversity distribution function $h_1(x)$ of the target proton and the Collins function of the Kaon in the final state. We adopt the available parametrization of $h_1(x)$ as well as the recent extracted result for the Kaon Collins function. To perform the transverse momentum dependent …
We investigate the tomographical structure of pion and kaon in light cone quark model (LCQM). In particular, we study the parton distribution amplitude (PDA) of pion and kaon. We obtain the parton distribution function (PDF) and the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) of the pion and kaon. The valence quark PDA and PDF of pion, after QCD evolution, are found to be consistent with the data from the E791 and the E615 experiments at Fermilab, respectively. Further, we investigate the transverse momentum distributions (TMDs) of pion and kaon. We also discuss the unpolarized TMD evolution for p…
We investigate the various distributions explaining multi-dimensional structure of kaon at the level of its constituents ($u$ and $\bar{s}$) using the light-cone quark model. The overlap form of wavefunctions associated with the light-cone quark model is adopted for the calculations. The generalized parton distributions(GPDs)of $u$ and $\bar{s}$ quarks are presented for the case when the momentum transfer in the longitudinal direction is non-zero. The dependence of kaon GPDs is studied in terms of variation of quark longitudinal momentum fraction, momentum transfer in longitudinal direction an…
We analyze the higher-twist effects and the SU(3)-flavour symmetry breaking in the correlation functions used to calculate form factors of pseudoscalar mesons in the QCD light-cone sum rule approach. It is shown that the Ward identities for these correlation functions yield relations between twist-4 two- and three-particle distribution amplitudes. In addition to the relations already obtained from the QCD equations of motions, we have found a new one. With the help of these relations, the twist-4 contribution to the light-cone sum rule for the pion electromagnetic form factor is reduced to a v…
We investigate the leading-twist light-cone distribution amplitudes for the pion and kaon, based on the nonlocal chiral quark model from the instanton vacuum. Effects of explicit flavor SU(3)-symmetry breaking are taken into account. The Gegenbauer moments are computed, analyzed and compared with those of other models. The one-loop QCD evolution of the moments is briefly discussed. The transverse momentum distributions are also discussed for the pion and kaon light-cone wave functions.
We analyze the electromagnetic pion and kaon form factor by including radiative and higher-twist effects within the framework of resummed pQCD in the space-like region. We focus on the transition from the perturbative to non-perturbative behavior in the phenomenological intermediate energy regime. Using a modified k_T factorization scheme with transverse degrees of freedom, we evaluate the non-perturbative soft contributions as distinct from the hard contributions, ensuring no double counting via the Ward identity at Q^2=0. The soft contributions are obtained via local quark-hadron duality whi…
The electromagnetic form factor of the kaon meson is calculated in the light-cone formalism of the relativistic constituent quark model. The calculated $K^+$ form factor is consistent with almost all of the available experimental data at low energy scale, while other properties of kaon could also be interrelated in this representation with reasonable parameters. Predictions of the form factors for the charged and neutral kaons at higher energy scale are also given, and we find non-zero $K^0$ form factor at $Q^2 \ne 0$ due to the mass difference between the strange and down quarks inside $K^0$.
Transverse-momentum dependent (TMD) light-cone wave functions of a light meson are important ingredients in the TMD QCD factorization of exclusive processes. This factorization allows one conveniently resum Sudakov logarithms appearing in collinear factorization. The TMD light-cone wave functions are not simply related to the standard light-cone wave functions in collinear factorization by integrating them over the transverse momentum. We explore relations between TMD light-cone wave functions and those in the collinear factorization. Two factorized relations can be found. One is helpful for c…
Using chiral symmetry we investigate the leading SU(3) violation in the complete set of quark twist-3 light-cone distribution functions of the pion, kaon, and eta. It is shown that terms non-analytic in the quark masses do not affect the shape, and only appear in the normalization constants. Predictive power is retained including the leading analytic m_{q} operators. With the symmetry violating corrections we derive useful model-independent relations between the distributions of pion, kaon and eta. We also comment on the calculations of the moments of these distributions using lattice QCD and …
We study transverse-momentum-dependent factorization at twist-3 for Drell-Yan processes. The factorization can be derived straightforwardly at leading order of $α_s$. But at this order we find that light-cone singularities already exist and effects of soft gluons are not correctly factorized. We regularize the singularities with gauge links off the light-cone and introduce a soft factor to factorize the effects of soft gluons. Interestingly, the soft factor must be included in the definition of subtracted TMD parton distributions to correctly factorize the effects of soft gluons. We derive the…
The $ΔI=1/2$ rule and direct CP violation $ε'/ε$ in kaon decays are studied within the framework of the effective Hamiltonian approach in conjunction with generalized factorization for hadronic matrix elements. We identify two principal sources responsible for the enhancement of A0/A_2: the vertex-type as well as penguin-type corrections to the matrix elements of four-quark operators, which render the physical amplitude renormalization-scale and -scheme independent, and the nonfactorized effect due to soft-gluon exchange, which is needed to suppress the $ΔI=3/2$ $K\toππ$ amplitude. Contrary to…
In this presentation, we briefly review recent investigations on pion and kaon structures from the instanton vacuum. Starting from the low-energy QCD partition function, we have computed the Gasser-Leutwyler low-energy constants, electromagnetic form factors of the pion and kaon, semileptonic decay form factors of the kaon, and light-cone distribution amplitues of the pion and kaon. The results are in good agreement with the experimental and empirical data.
Motivated by recent experimental results, we use a factorization approach to study the three-body B --> D(*) K- K0 decay modes. Two mechanisms are proposed for kaon pair production: current-produced (from vacuum) and transition (from B meson). The Bbar0 --> D(*)+ K- K0 decay is governed solely by the current-produced mechanism. As the kaon pair can be produced only by the vector current, the matrix element can be extracted from e+ e- --> K Kbar processes via isospin relations. The decay rates obtained this way are in good agreement with experiment. Both current-produced and transition processe…
In order to investigate the tomographical structure of light pseudoscalar mesons, particularly, pion and kaon, we study the valence quark distribution function (PDF) and the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) using light-cone quark model (LCQM).
We show that the twist-2 light-cone wave-functions of eta_c and J/ψcan be factorized with nonrelativistic QCD(NRQCD) at one-loop level, where the nonperturbative effects are represented by NRQCD matrix elements. The factorization is achieved by expanding the small velocity v, which the c- or \bar c- quark moves inside a rest quarkonium with. At leading order of v the twist-2 light-cone wave-functions of eta_c and J/ψcan be factorized as the product of a perturbative function and a NRQCD matrix element. The perturbative function is calculated at one-loop level and free from any soft divergence.…
We investigate the leading-twist light-cone distribution amplitudes for the pion and kaon based on the gauge-invariant nonlocal chiral quark model from the instanton vacuum in the presence of external axial-vector currents. We find that the nonlocal contribution from the gauge invariance has much effects on the pion distribution amplitudes, while it changes mildly the kaon ones. We also study the Gegenbauer moments of the distribution amplitudes and compare them with the empirical analysis of the CLEO data.
We apply QCD factorization to the quasi two-body B ->(K pi) pi decays where the (K pi)-pair effective mass is limited to 1.8 GeV. Our strong interaction phases constrained by theory and pi-K experimental data yield useful information for studies of CP violation
A simultaneous investigation of the space- and time-like electromagnetic form factors of the charged kaon is presented within the framework of light-cone QCD, with perturbative $k_T$-factorization including Sudakov suppression. The effects of power suppressed sub-leading twists and the genuine ``soft'' QCD corrections turn out to be dominant at low- and moderate-energies/momentum transfers $Q^2$. Our predictions agree well with the available moderate-energy experimental data, including the recent results from the CLEO measurements and certain estimates based on the phenomenological analyses of…
Motivated by experimental results on $\bar B\to D^{(*)}K^-K^{0}$, we use a factorization approach to study these decays. Two mechanisms concerning kaon pair production arise: current-produced (from vacuum) and transition (from the $B$ meson). The kaon pair in the $\bar B {}^0\to D^{(*)+}K^-K^0$ decays can be produced only by the vector current (current-produced), whose matrix element can be extracted from $e^+e^-\to K\bar K$ processes via isospin relations. The decay rates obtained this way are in good agreement with experiment. The $B^-\to D^{(*)0}K^-K^0$ decays involve both current-produced …
We present a new calculation of the first Gegenbauer moment $a_1^K$ of the kaon light-cone distribution amplitude. This moment is determined by the difference between the average momenta of strange and nonstrange valence quarks in the kaon. To calculate $a_1^K$, QCD sum rule for the diagonal correlation function of local and nonlocal axial-vector currents is used. Contributions of condensates up to dimension six are taken into account, including $O(α_s)$-corrections to the quark-condensate term. We obtain $a_1^K=0.05\pm 0.02$, differing by the sign and magnitude from the recent sum-rule estima…
With a consistent definition of transverse-momentum dependent (TMD) light-cone wave function, we show that the amplitude for the process $γ^* π^0 \toγ$ can be factorized when the virtuality of the initial photon is large. In contrast to the collinear factorization in which the amplitude is factorized as a convolution of the standard light-cone wave function and a hard part, the TMD factorization yields a convolution of a TMD light-cone wave function, a soft factor and a hard part. We explicitly show that the TMD factorization holds at one loop level. It is expected that the factorization holds…
We study the radiative decay B -> gamma l nu_l in the framework of QCD factorization. We demonstrate explicitly that, in the heavy-quark limit and at one-loop order in perturbation theory, the amplitude does factorize, i.e. that it can be written as a convolution of a perturbatively calculable hard-scattering amplitude with the (non-perturbative) light-cone distribution amplitude of the B-meson. We evaluate the hard-scattering amplitude at one-loop order and verify that the large logarithms are those expected from a study of the b->u transition in the Soft-Collinear Effective Theory. Assuming …
The hadronic decays $B\to J/ψK(K^*)$ are interesting because experimentally they are the only color-suppressed modes which have been measured, and theoretically they are calculable by QCD factorization even the emitted meson $Jψ$ is heavy. We analyze the decay $B\to JψK$ within the framework of QCD factorization in the heavy quark limit. We show explicitly the scale and $γ_5$-scheme independence of decay amplitudes and infrared safety of nonfactorizable corrections at twist-2 order. Leading-twist contributions from the light-cone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs) of the mesons are too small to a…
The light-cone distribution amplitude (LCDA) of a heavy-light meson defined in heavy quark effective theory (HQET), is a fundamental nonperturbative input to account for innumerable $B$ meson exclusive decay and production processes. On the other hand, the conventional heavy-flavored meson LCDA defined in QCD, also ubiquitously enters the factorization formula for hard exclusive $B$ production processes. Inspired by the observation that these two LCDAs exhibit the identical infrared behaviors, yet differ in the ultraviolet scale of order $m_b$ or greater, we propose a novel factorization theor…
We describe diffractive deeply inelastic scattering in terms of diffractive parton distributions. We investigate these distributions in a hamiltonian formulation that emphasizes the spacetime picture of diffraction scattering. For hadronic systems with small transverse size, diffraction occurs predominantly at short distances and the diffractive parton distributions can be studied by perturbative methods. For realistic, large-size systems we discuss the possibility that diffractive parton distributions are controlled essentially by semihard physics at a scale of nonperturbative origin of the o…
The $K\toππ$ decay amplitudes are studied within the framework of generalized factorization in which the effective Wilson coefficients are gauge-invariant, renormalization-scale and -scheme independent while factorization is applied to the tree-level hadronic matrix elements. Nonfactorized contributions to the hadronic matrix elements of (V-A)(V-A) four-quark operators, which are needed to account for the suppression of the $ΔI=3/2 K\toππ$ amplitude $A_2$ and the enhancement of the $ΔI=1/2 A_0$ amplitude, are phenomenologically extracted from the measured $K^+\toπ^+π^0$ decay and found to be l…
We point out mistakes made in the one-loop calculation of some diagrams for the process $πγ^* \to γ$ in the preprint arXiv:0807.0296, and present correct results. Especially, we have difficulty to understand their argument that a highly off-shell gluon generates a light-cone (infrared) singularity. It is shown by means of the Ward identity that the gauge-dependent light-cone singularity found in arXiv:0807.0296 does not exist. It is then shown that a hard kernel derived in the $k_T$ factorization of exclusive processes is gauge invariant and free of the light-cone singularity.
The $\textit{BABAR}$ Collaboration data of the $D^0 \to K^0_S K^+ K^-$ process are analyzed within a quasi two-body factorization framework. In earlier studies, assuming $D^0$ transitions to two kaons and the transitions between one kaon and two kaons to proceed through the dominant intermediate resonances, we approximated them as being proportional to the kaon form factors. To obtain good fits, one has to multiply the scalar-kaon form factors, derived from unitary relativistic coupled-channel models or in a dispersion relation approach, by phenomenological energy-dependent functions. The fina…
We present an improved calculation of the $B\to K$ transition form factor with chiral current in the QCD light-cone sum rule (LCSR) approach. Under the present approach, the most uncertain twist-3 contribution is eliminated. And the contributions from the twist-2 and the twist-4 structures of the kaon wave function are discussed, including the $SU_f(3)$-breaking effects. One-loop radiative corrections to the kaonic twist-2 contribution together with the leading-order twist-4 corrections are studied. The $SU_f(3)$ breaking effect is obtained, $ \frac{F^{B\to K}_{+}(0)}{F^{B\toπ}_{+}(0)}=1.16\pm…
We investigate the transverse polarization of the $Λ$ hyperon in the processes $e^+e^-\toΛ^\uparrow π^\pm X$ and $e^+e^-\toΛ^\uparrow K^\pm X$ within the framework of the transverse momentum dependent~(TMD) factorization. The transverse polarization is contributed by the convolution of the transversely polarizing fragmentation function~(PFF) $D_{1T}^\perp$ of the lambda hyperon and the unpolarized fragmentation function $D_1$ of pion/kaon. We adopt the spectator diquark model result for $D_{1T}^{\perp}$ to numerically estimate the transverse polarization in $e^+e^-\toΛ^\uparrow h X$ process at…
We derive a factorization theorem for Drell-Yan process at low q_T using effective field theory methods. In this theorem all the obtained quantities are gauge invariant and the special role of the soft function--and its subtraction thereof--is emphasized. We define transverse-momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDPDFs) which are free from light-cone singularities while all the Wilson lines are defined on-the-light-cone. We show explicitly to first order in α_s that the partonic Feynman PDF can be obtained from the newly defined partonic TMDPDF by integrating over the transverse …
The higher-twist (HT) contribution to the charged kaon pair production in the high energy proton-antiproton collisions at large transverse momentum $p_T$ is investigated by using the frozen coupling constant approach for various kaon distribution amplitudes (DAs), which are predicted by light-cone formalism, the light-front quark model, the nonlocal chiral quark model and the light-front holographic AdS/CFT approach. In the numerics the dependencies of the HT contribution on the transverse momentum $p_T$, the rapidity $y$, and the variable $x_T$ are discussed with special emphasis put on DAs. …
We determine the leading Fock state light front wave functions (LFWFs) of the pion and kaon via light front projections of the covariant Bethe-Salpeter wave function. Using these LFWFs we study the multi-dimensional images of the valence quarks in the pion and kaon that are provided by their generalized parton distribution functions (GPDs) and transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs). Moments of the GPDs are taken to obtain the electromagnetic and gravitational form factors of the pion and kaon, and comparisons to available experimental and lattice data are made. High…
Rare B decays to three charged kaons are analysed. The weak decay amplitudes are derived in the QCD factorization approach. The strong final state interactions between pairs of kaons are described using the kaon scalar and vector form factors. The scalar form factors at low K+K- effective mass distributions are constrained by chiral symmetry and are related to the coupled channel meson-meson amplitudes describing all the transitions between three channels consisting of two kaons, two pions and four pions. The vector form factors are fitted to the data on e+e- collisions. The model results are …
We study the exclusive decays of $B$ meson into pseudoscalar charmonium states $η_c$ and $η_c^\prime$ within the QCD factorization approach and find that the nonfactorizable corrections to naive factorization are infrared safe at leading-twist order. The spectator interactions arising from the kaon twist-3 effects are formally power-suppressed but chirally and logarithmically enhanced. The theoretical decay rates are too small to accommodate the experimental data. On the other hand, we compare the theoretical calculations for $J/ψ, ψ^\prime$, and $η_c, η_c^\prime$, and find that the predicted …
We show that the splitting between the light pseudo-scalar and vector meson states is due to the strong short-range attraction in the ^1S_0 sector which makes the pion and the kaon light particles. We use a light-cone QCD-inspired model of the mass squared operator with harmonic confinement and a Dirac-delta interaction. We apply a renormalization method to define the model, in which the pseudo-scalar ground state mass fixes the renormalized strength of the Dirac-delta interaction.
From a detailed analysis of cone-jet cross sections in effective field theory, we obtain novel factorization theorems which separate the physics associated with different energy scales present in such processes. The relevant low-energy physics is encoded in Wilson lines along the directions of the energetic particles inside the jets. This multi-Wilson-line structure is present even for narrow-cone jets due to the relevance of small-angle soft radiation. We discuss the renormalization-group equations satisfied by these operators. Their solution resums all logarithmically enhanced contributions …
We present the first lattice determination of the two lowest Gegenbauer moments of the leading-twist pion and kaon light-cone distribution amplitudes with full control of all errors. The calculation is carried out on 35 different CLS ensembles with $N_f=2+1$ flavors of dynamical Wilson-clover fermions. These cover a multitude of pion and kaon mass combinations (including the physical point) and 5 different lattice spacings down to $a=0.039\,$fm. The momentum smearing technique and a new operator basis are employed to reduce statistical fluctuations and to improve the overlap with the ground st…
In a large-momentum nucleon state, the matrix element of a gauge-invariant Euclidean Wilson line operator accessible from lattice QCD can be related to the standard light-cone parton distribution function through the large-momentum effective theory (LaMET) expansion. This relation is given by a factorization theorem with a non-trivial matching coefficient. Using the operator product expansion we prove the large-momentum factorization of the quasi-parton distribution function in LaMET, and show that the more recently discussed Ioffe-time distribution approach also obeys an equivalent factorizat…
We present a new analysis for the single-transverse spin asymmetry (SSA) for the inclusive pion and kaon productions in the proton-proton collisions measured at RHIC. The framework we use is the collinear factorization in which SSA appears as a twist-3 observable resulting from the multiparton correlations in the hadrons. As a relevant multiparton correlation, we include all the contributions associated with the quark-gluon correlation functions in the transversely polarized proton, i.e., those from the soft-gluon-pole (SGP) and the soft-fermion-pole (SFP). We have found that the SGP contribut…
The coupling constants of K and pi mesons with the octet baryons are studied in light cone QCD sum rules taking into account SU(3)f flavor symmetry breaking effects, but keeping the SU(2) isospin symmetry intact. It is shown that, in the SU(3)f flavor symmetry breaking case, all of the couplings can be written in terms of four universal functions instead of F and D couplings which exist in the SU(3)f symmetry case. A comparison of our results of kaon and pion-baryon couplings with existing theoretical and experimental results in the literature is performed.
In this talk we present our recent studies for the unpolarized fragmentation functions for the pion and kaon, employing the nonlocal chiral quark model, which manifests the nonlocal interaction between the quarks and pseudoscalar mesons, in the light-cone frame. It turns out that the nonlocal interaction produces considerable differences in comparison to typical local-interaction models.
Charged B decays to three charged kaons are analysed in the framework of the QCD factorization approach. The strong final state K+K-interactions are described using the kaon scalar and vector form factors. The scalar non-strange and strange form factors at low K+K- effective masses are constrained by chiral perturbation theory and satisfy the two-body unitarity conditions. The latter stem from the properties of the meson-meson amplitudes which describe all possible S-wave transitions between three coupled channels consisting of two kaons, two pions and four pions. The vector form factors are f…
The $ΔI=1/2$ rule and direct CP violation $ε'/ε$ in kaon decays are studied within the framework of the effective Hamiltonian approach in conjunction with generalized factorization for hadronic matrix elements.
I consider nonleptonic decays of B mesons into two light mesons using the light-cone wave functions for the mesons. In the heavy quark limit, nonfactorizable contributions are calculable from first principles in some decay modes. I review the idea of the QCD-improved factorization method and discuss the implications in phenomenology.
We discuss the generalization of the leading-twist light-cone distribution amplitude for light mesons including QED effects. This generalization was introduced to describe virtual collinear photon exchanges above the strong-interaction scale $Λ_{\rm QCD}$ in the factorization of QED effects in non-leptonic $B$-meson decays. In this paper we study the renormalization group evolution of this non-perturbative function. For charged mesons, in particular, this exhibits qualitative differences with respect to the well-known scale evolution in QCD only, especially regarding the endpoint-behaviour. We…
The unknown constants in Chiral Perturbation Theory needed for an all orders analysis of the polarizabilities and electromagnetic corrections to the masses of the pseudo-Goldstone bosons are estimated at leading order in $1/N_c$. We organize the calculation in an $1/N_c$-expansion and separate long- and short-distance physics contributions by introducing an Euclidean cut-off. The long-distance part is evaluated using the ENJL model and the short-distance part using perturbative QCD and factorization. We obtain very good matching between both. We then include these estimates in a full Chiral Pe…
To separate the energetic photons produced in hard scattering processes from those from other sources, measurements impose isolation requirements which restrict the hadronic radiation inside a cone around the photon. In this paper, we perform a detailed factorization analysis of the QCD effects associated with photon isolation. We show that for small cone radius $R$, photon isolation effects can be captured by a fragmentation function describing the decay of a parton into a photon accompanied by hadronic radiation. We compute this fragmentation function for different isolation criteria and sol…
The elastic charge form factors of the pion, kaon, D- and B-mesons are calculated within a relativistic constituent quark model formulated on the light-cone. Our parameter free predictions agree well with the available data. The results are approximately independent of the assumed form of the light-cone wave function, in particular they do not depend on the high momentum tail of the wave function for energies accessible to present experiments.
We investigate the single transverse-spin asymmetry with a $\sin (ϕ_h-ϕ_S)$ modulation in the charged Kaon produced and in $Λ$ hyperon produced SIDIS process within the theoretical framework of transverse momentum dependent (TMD) factorization at the next-to-leading-logarithmic order. The asymmetry is contributed by the convolution of Sivers function and the unpolarized fragmentation function $D_1$ for the produced hadron. The parametrization for the proton Qiu-Sterman function, which is closely related to the Sivers function, is adopted to numerically estimate the Sivers asymmetry at the kine…
We discuss a general diagrammatic description of n-point functions in the QCD instanton vacuum that resums planar diagrams, enforces gauge invariance and spontaneously broken chiral symmetry. We use these diagrammatic rules to derive the pion and kaon quasi-parton amplitude and distribution functions at leading order in the instanton packing fraction for large but finite momentum. The instanton and anti-instanton zero modes and non-zero modes are found to contribute to the quasi-distributions, but the latter are shown to drop out in the large momentum limit. The pertinent pion and kaon parton …
We make a detailed study on the typical production channel of double charmoniums, $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$, at the center-of-mass collision energy $\sqrt{s}=10.58$ GeV. The key component of the process is the form factor $F_{\rm VP}(q^2)$, which has been calculated within the QCD light-cone sum rules (LCSR). To improve the accuracy of the derived LCSR, we keep the $J/ψ$ light-cone distribution amplitude up to twist-4 accuracy. Total cross sections for $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$ at three typical factorization scales are $σ|_{μ_s} = 22.53^{+3.46}_{-3.49}~{\rm fb}$, $σ|_{μ_k} = 21.98^{+3.35}_{-3.38}~{\rm fb}…
We compute the distribution amplitudes of the pion and kaon in the light-front constituent quark model with the symmetric quark-bound state vertex function. In the calculation we explicitly include the flavor-SU(3) symmetry breaking effect in terms of the constituent quark masses of the up (down) and strange quarks. To calculate the kaon parton distribution functions~(PDFs), we use both the conditions in the light-cone wave function, i.e., when $\bar{s}$ quark is on-shell, and when $u$ quark is on-shell, and make a comparison between them. The kaon PDFs calculated in the two different conditio…
Inclusive cross section for pion production in proton - proton collisions are calculated based on unintegrated parton distribution functions (uPDFs). In addition to purely gluonic terms the present approach includes also quark degrees of freedom. Phenomenological fragmentation functions from the literature are used. The new mechanisms are responsible for $π^+$ - $π^-$ asymmetry. In contrast to standard collinear approach, application of 2 $\to$ 1 $k_t$ - factorization approach can be extended towards much lower transverse momenta, both at mid and forward rapidity region. The results of the cal…
