We analyze theoretically the $D^+\to νe^+ ρ\bar K$ and $D^+\to νe^+ \bar K^* π$ decays to see the feasibility to check the double pole nature of the axial-vector resonance $K_1(1270)$ predicted by the unitary extensions of chiral perturbation theory (UChPT). Indeed, within UChPT the $K_1(1270)$ is dynamically generated from the interaction of a vector and a pseudoscalar meson, and two poles are obtained for the quantum numbers of this resonance. The lower mass pole couples dominantly to $K^*π$ and the higher mass pole to $ρK$, therefore we can expect that different reactions weighing differently these channels in the production mechanisms enhance one or the other pole. We show that the different final $VP$ channels in $D^+\to νe^+ V P$ weigh differently both poles, and this is reflected in the shape of the final vector-pseudoscalar invariant mass distributions. Therefore, we conclude that these decays are suitable to distinguish experimentally the predicted double pole of the $K_1(1270)$ resonance.
We give the first estimate of charmless scalar meson emitting weak hadronic decays of 0 $\Lembda_{b}^{0}$, $Ξ_{b}^{0}$ and $Ξ_{b}^{-}$ bottom baryons employing the pole model and consequently predict their branching ratios.
Within the chiral unitary approach, the axial-vector resonance $K_1(1270)$ has been predicted to manifest a two-pole nature. The lowest pole has a mass of 1195 Mev and a width of 246 Mev and couples mostly to $K^*π$, and the highest pole has a mass of 1284 Mev and a width of 146 Mev and couples mostly to $ρK$. We analyze theoretically how this double-pole structure can show up in the $D^0\to π^+ VP$ decays by looking at the vector-pseudoscalar ($VP$) invariant mass distribution for different $VP$ channels, exploiting the fact that each pole couples differently to different $VP$ pairs. We find …
By looking at the pseudoscalar-vector meson spectra in the $\bar{B}\to J/ψρ\bar{K}$ and $\bar{B}\to J/ψ\bar{K}^*π$ weak decays, we theoretically investigate the double-pole structure of the $K_1(1270)$ resonance by using the Chiral Unitary approach to account for the final state interactions between the pseudoscalar and vector mesons. The $K_1(1270)$ resonance appears as dynamically generated through these interactions in coupled channels and influence the shape of the invariant mass distributions under consideration. We show how those shapes are affected by the $K_1(1270)$ double-pole structu…
We present that including the hadron loop effects could help us to understand the spectrum of the heavier charmonium-like states and their decays simultaneously. The observed states could be represented by the poles on the complex energy plane. By coupling to the opened thresholds, the pole positions are shifted from the bare states predicted in the quenched potential model to the complex energy plane. The pole masses are generally pulled down from the bare masses and the open-charm decay widths are related to the imaginary parts of the pole positions. Moreover, we also analyze the pole trajec…
We derive relations for baryon photo-decay amplitudes both for the Breit-Wigner and the pole positions. With an updated SAID partial wave analysis, technically similar to the earliest Virginia Tech analysis of photoproduction data, we compare photo-decay amplitudes at both resonance positions for a few selected nucleon resonances. Comparisons are made and a qualitative similarity, seen between the pole and Breit-Wigner values extracted by the Bonn-Gatchina group, is confirmed in the present study.
We perform an analysis of the three-pion system with quantum numbers $J^{PC}=1^{++}$ produced in the weak decay of $τ$ leptons. The interaction is known to be dominated by the axial meson $a_1(1260)$. We build a model based on approximate three-body unitarity and fix the free parameters by fitting it to the ALEPH data on $τ^-\to π^-π^+π^-\,ν_τ$ decay. We then perform the analytic continuation of the amplitude to the complex energy plane. The singularity structures related to the $ππ$ subchannel resonances are carefully addressed. Finally, we extract the $a_1(1260)$ pole position $m_p^{(a_1(126…
We study the spectral function of the axial-vector charmonium state $χ_{c1}(2P)$ coupled to $DD^{\ast}$ mesons, by employing a quantum field theoretical approach: a pronounced enhancement close to the $D^{0}% D^{\ast0}$ threshold, to be identified with the $X(3872)$, emerges. In the complex plane we find two poles: a pole for the broad seed state $χ_{c1}(2P)$, and -- in the easiest scenario -- a virtual pole for the $X(3872)$. Thus, our approach describes both the seed state and the dynamically generated $X(3872)$ simultaneously. In particular, it explains the most prominent, both molecular-li…
Models in which the 750 GeV resonance ($S$) decays to two light axion-like particles (ALPs $a$), which in turn decay to collimated photons mimicking the observed signal, are motivated by Hidden Valley scenarios and could also provide a mechanism by which a $S \to γγ$ signal persists while $S \to Z γ,\; ZZ$ and $WW$ remain subdued in the near future. We point out that these Hidden Valley like models invoking $S \to aa \to 4 γ$ must also contend with $Z \to a (\to γγ) γ$ constraints coming from CDF and ATLAS. Within an effective field theory framework, we work out the constraints on the coupling…

Note on helicity amplitudes in D to V semileptonic decays
One feature of the chiral anomaly, analyzed in a perturbative framework, is the appearance of massless poles which account for it. They are identified by a spectral analysis of the anomaly graph and are usually interpreted as being of an infrared origin. Recent investigations show that their presence is not just confined in the infrared, but that they appear in the effective action under the most general kinematical conditions, even if they decouple in the infrared. Further studies reveal that they are responsible for the non-unitary behaviour of these theories in the ultraviolet (UV) region. …
Encouraged by recent discovery of $Ξ_{cc}^{++}$ baryon, we investigate two body non-leptonic weak decays of doubly charmed, $Ξ_{cc}$, baryons. We calculate the branching ratios for CKM-favored and suppressed modes in factorization and pole model approach. We give the first estimates of nonfactorizable W-exchange contributions using pole model. We find that W-exchange contributions to $Ξ_{cc}$ decays being sizable can not be ignored.
Model-independent constraints on hadronic form factors, in particular those describing exclusive semileptonic decays, can be derived from the knowledge of field correlators calculated in perturbative QCD, using analyticity and unitarity. The location of poles corresponding to below-threshold resonances, i.e., stable states that cannot decay into a pair of hadrons from the crossed channel of the form factor, must be known a priori, and their effect, accounted for through the use of Blaschke factors, is to reduce the strength of the constraints in the semileptonic region. By contrast, above-thre…
We study the three-body baryonic B decay $\bar{B}^{0}_{s}\rightarrow p\barΛ K^{-}$ within the framework of the pole model via the baryonic $Λ_{b}$ pole. In our calculation, we require the strong coupling constant $g_{Λ_{b}B_{s}Λ}$ and investigate if $g_{Λ_{b}B_{s}Λ}=10.49\pm1.57$ is adopted, the branching ratio agrees with the experimental result, reported by the LHCb collaboration.
When an unstable ordinary quark-antiquark state couples strongly to other low-mass mesons (such as pions, kaons, $D$-mesons, etc.), the quantum fluctuations generated by the decay products dress the bare `seed' $\bar{q}q$ state and modify its spectral functions. The state is associated to a pole on the complex plane. When the coupling to the decay products is sufficiently large, a remarkable and interesting phenomenon takes place: dynamically generated companion states (or poles) might emerge. Some resonances listed in the PDG , such as the $a_{0}(980),$ the $K_{0}^{\ast}(700),$ and the $X(387…
The doubly charm tetraquark with flavor $cc\bar u\bar d$ and isospin $I\!=\!0$ is investigated by calculating the $DD^*$ scattering amplitude with lattice QCD. The simulation is done on CLS ensembles with dynamical $u/d,s$ quarks and $m_π\simeq 280~$MeV for two charm quark masses, one slightly larger and one slightly lower than the physical value. The scattering amplitudes for partial waves $l=0,1$ are extracted near-threshold via the Lüscher's method by considering systems with total momenta $PL/(2π)=0,1,\sqrt{2},2$ on two spatial volumes. A virtual bound state pole in the $DD^*$ scattering a…
In addition to giving rise to spectacular new physics signals in the final states of meson decays, Axion-like-particles also induce modifications in the standard model decays of mesons. These `indirect' signatures can be parametrized as the modifications of the hadronic form factors and can be probed using meson decay width and decay distribution measurements. Starting with a generalized ALP Lagrangian, we demonstrate these effects for semileptonic Kaon decays and derived bounds using NA48/2 data. We also briefly discuss other indirect signatures such as modification of meson mass spectrum and…
We investigate the rare radiative decays of extra gauge neutral bosons. In particular, we established the theoretical predictions for the production of unparticle in decays of $Z^{\prime}$ - bosons. The implementation of our prediction in the analysis at the LHC experiments should be straightforward and lead to more precise determination or limits of unparticle couplings and/or $Z^{\prime}$ couplings and masses.
We study the final state interaction in 3-pion decay of meson resonances at the Excited Baryon Analysis Center (EBAC) of JLab. We apply the dynamical coupled-channels formulation which has been extensively used by EBAC to extract N* information. The formulation satisfies the 3-pion unitarity condition which has been missed in the existing works with the isobar models. We report the effect of the 3-pion unitarity on the meson resonance pole positions and Dalitz plot.
We consider a scenario where ultra high energy neutrinos undergo unparticle decay during its passage from its cosmological source to Earth. The idea of unparticle had been first proposed by Georgi by considering the possible existence of an unknown scale invariant sector at high energies and the unparticles in this sector manifest itself below a dimensional transmutation scale $Λ_{\cal U}$. We then explore the possible signature of such decaying neutrinos to unparticles at a square kilometer detector such as IceCube.
We present a calculation of the next-to-leading-order QCD and electroweak corrections to WWW production with leptonically decaying $\mathrm{W}$ bosons at the LHC, fully taking into account off-shell contributions, intermediary resonances, and spin correlations. The contributions of the quark-antiquark-induced electroweak correction to typical fiducial cross sections at the LHC are of the order of 5-8% and grow to tens of percent in the high-energy tails of distributions. We observe strong cancellations among the positive quark-photon and negative quark-antiquark-induced electroweak corrections…
In light of recent observations of an anomalous excess of high-energy positrons and electrons by the PAMELA and Fermi LAT experiments, we investigate exotic cosmic-ray signatures in scenarios with unstable dark matter that decays with an extremely long lifetime. We identify decay modes capable of explaining the observed anomalies and mention constraints arising from measurements of antiprotons and gamma rays. We also discuss complementary tests by measurements of anisotropies in diffuse gamma rays which should be accessible to Fermi.
After improving the knowledge about residua of the semileptonic form factor at its first two poles we show that $f_+^{Dπ}(q^2)$ is not saturated when compared with the experimental data. To fill the difference we approximate the rest of discontinuity by an effective pole and show that the data can be described very well with the position of the effective pole larger than the next excitation in the spectrum of $D^\ast$ state. The results of fits with experimental data also suggest the validity of superconvergence which in the pole models translates to a vanishing of the sum of residua of the fo…
