Tensor hierarchy algebras constitute a class of non-contragredient Lie superalgebras, whose finite-dimensional members are the "Cartan-type" Lie superalgebras in Kac's classification. They have applications in mathematical physics, especially in extended geometry and gauged supergravity. We further develop the recently proposed definition of tensor hierarchy algebras in terms of generators and relations encoded in a Dynkin diagram (which coincides with the diagram for a related Borcherds superalgebra). We apply it to cases where a grey node is added to the Dynkin diagram of a rank $r+1$ Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak{g}^+$, which in turn is an extension of a rank $r$ finite-dimensional semisimple simply laced Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. The algebras are specified by $\mathfrak{g}$ together with a dominant integral weight $λ$. As a by-product, a remarkable identity involving representation matrices for arbitrary integral highest weight representations of $\mathfrak{g}$ is proven. An accompanying paper describes the application of tensor hierarchy algebras to the gauge structure and dynamics in models of extended geometry.
A compact formulation of the field-strengths, Bianchi identities and gauge transformations for tensor hierarchies in gauged maximal supergravity theories is given. A key role in the construction is played by the recently-introduced tensor hierarchy algebra.
We consider Chern-Simons actions of Abelian tensor hierarchy of $p$-form gauge fields in four-dimensional ${\cal N}=1$ supergravity. Using conformal superspace formalism, we solve the constraints on the field strengths of the $p$-form gauge superfields in the presence of the tensor hierarchy. The solutions are expressed by the prepotentials of the $p$-form gauge superfields. We show the internal and superconformal transformation laws of the prepotentials. The descent formalism for the Chern-Simons actions is exhibited.
The recent investigation of the gauge structure of extended geometry is generalised to situations when ancillary transformations appear in the commutator of two generalised diffeomorphisms. The relevant underlying algebraic structure turns out to be a tensor hierarchy algebra rather than a Borcherds superalgebra. This tensor hierarchy algebra is a non-contragredient superalgebra, generically infinite-dimensional, which is a double extension of the structure algebra of the extended geometry. We use it to perform a (partial) analysis of the gauge structure in terms of an $L_\infty$ algebra for e…
We consider Abelian tensor hierarchy in four-dimensional ${\cal N}=1$ supergravity in the conformal superspace formalism, where the so-called covariant approach is used to antisymmetric tensor fields. We introduce $p$-form gauge superfields as superforms in the conformal superspace. We solve the Bianchi identities under the constraints for the superforms. As a result, each of form fields is expressed by a single gauge invariant superfield. The action of superforms is shown with the invariant superfields. We also show the relation between the superspace formalism and the superconformal tensor c…
With the goal of constructing the supersymmetric action for all fields, massless and massive, obtained by Kaluza-Klein compactification from type II theory or M-theory in a closed form, we embed the (Abelian) tensor hierarchy of p-forms in four-dimensional, N=1 superspace and construct its Chern-Simons-like invariants. When specialized to the case in which the tensors arise from a higher-dimensional theory, the invariants may be interpreted as higher-dimensional Chern-Simons forms reduced to four dimensions. As an application of the formalism, we construct the eleven-dimensional Chern-Simons f…
We construct the tensor hierarchy of generic, bosonic, 8-dimensional field theories. We first study the form of the most general 8-dimensional bosonic theory with Abelian gauge symmetries only and no massive deformations. This study determines the tensors that occur in the Chern-Simons terms of the (electric and magnetic) field strengths and the action for the electric fields, which we determine. Having constructed the most general Abelian theory we study the most general gaugings of its global symmetries and the possible massive deformations using the embedding tensor formalism, constructing …
We compute the complete 3- and 4-dimensional tensor hierarchies, i.e. sets of p-form fields, with $1\le p\le D$, which realize an off-shell algebra of bosonic gauge transformations. We show how these tensor hierarchies can be put on-shell by introducing a set of duality relations, thereby introducing additional scalars and a metric tensor. These so-called duality hierarchies encode the equations of motion of the bosonic part of the most general gauged supergravity theories in those dimensions, including the (projected) scalar equations of motion. We construct gauge-invariant actions that inclu…
IIB supergravity is reformulated with a manifest local USp(8) invariance that makes the embedding of five-dimensional maximal supergravities transparent. In this formulation the ten-dimensional theory exhibits all the 27 one-form fields and 22 of the 27 two-form fields that are required by the vector-tensor hierarchy of the five-dimensional theory. The missing 5 two-form fields must transform in the same representation as a descendant of the ten-dimensional `dual graviton'. The invariant E6(6) symmetric tensor that appears in the vector-tensor hierarchy is reproduced. Generalized vielbeine are…
We construct the tensor hierarchies of generic, bosonic, 5- and 6-dimensional field theories. The construction of the tensor hierarchy starts with the introduction of two tensors: the embedding tensor which tells us which vector is used for gauging and another tensor Z which tells us which vector is eaten by a 2-form. In dimensions five or more these two (deformation) tensors are in principle unrelated. Besides the embedding tensor and Z there can be further deformation tensors describing other couplings unrelated to (but compatible with) gauge symmetry. For each deformation tensor there appea…
We address the construction of manifest U-duality invariant generalized diffeomorphisms. The closure of the algebra requires an extension of the tangent space to include a tensor hierarchy indicating the existence of an underlying unifying structure, compatible with E_{11} and Borcherds algebras constructions. We begin with four-dimensional gauged maximal supergravity, and build a generalized Lie derivative that encodes all the gauge transformations of the theory. A generalized frame is introduced, which accommodates for all the degrees of freedom, including the tensor hierarchy. The generaliz…
We introduce an infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebra which is an extension of the U-duality Lie algebra of maximal supergravity in D dimensions, for D between 3 and 7. The level decomposition with respect to the U-duality Lie algebra gives exactly the tensor hierarchy of representations that arises in gauge deformations of the theory described by an embedding tensor, for all positive levels p. We prove that these representations are always contained in those coming from the associated Borcherds-Kac-Moody superalgebra, and we explain why some of the latter representations are not included in t…
In this paper we construct the supersymmetric tensor hierarchy of N=1, d=4 supergravity. We find some differences with the general bosonic construction of 4-dimensional gauged supergravities. The global symmetry group of N=1,d=4 supergravity consists of three factors: the scalar manifold isometry group, the invariance group of the complex vector kinetic matrix and the U(1) R-symmetry group. In contrast to (half)-maximal supergravities, the latter two symmetries are not embedded into the isometry group of the scalar manifold. We identify some components of the embedding tensor with Fayet-Iliopo…
Tensor hierarchy algebras are infinite-dimensional generalisations of Cartan-type Lie superalgebras. They are not contragredient, exhibiting an asymmetry between positive and negative levels. These superalgebras have been a focus of attention due to the fundamental role they play for extended geometry. In the present paper, we examine tensor hierarchy algebras which are super-extensions of over-extended (often, hyperbolic) Kac--Moody algebras. They contain novel algebraic structures. Of particular interest is the extension of a over-extended algebra by its fundamental module, an extension that…
We consider a braneworld model in the scalar-tensor gravity. In order to solve the gauge hierarchy problem in this model, our world should be confined on the positive tension brane rather than on the negative one. This is crucial to reproduce a correct Friedmann-like equation on the brane. Interestingly, it is found that the spacing of mass spectrum in this scenario is very tiny, but the light gravitons cannot be observed individually in colliders because of their sufficiently weak interaction with matter fields on the visible brane.
We study local algebras, which are structures similar to $\mathbb{Z}$-graded algebras concentrated in degrees $-1,0,1$, but without a product defined for pairs of elements at the same degree $\pm1$. To any triple consisting of a Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ with an invertible and symmetrisable Cartan matrix, a dominant integral weight of $\mathfrak{g}$ and an invariant symmetric bilinear form on $\mathfrak{g}$, we associate a local algebra satisfying a restricted version of associativity. From it, we derive a local Lie superalgebra by a commutator construction. Under certain conditions, we…
It is well known that the centerless W_{1+\infty} algebra provides a hamiltonian structure for the KP hierarchy. In this letter we address the question whether the centerful version plays a similar rôle in any related integrable system. We find that, surprisingly enough, the centrally extended W_{1+\infty} algebra yields yet another Poisson structure for the same standard KP hierarchy. This is proven by explicit construction of the infinitely many new hamiltonians in closed form.
We construct a hierarchy of supersymmetric string theories by showing that the general N-extended superstrings may be viewed as a special class of the (N+1)-extended superstrings. As a side result, we find a twisted (N+2) superconformal algebra realized in the N-extended string.
It is shown that the N-extended super $w_n$\ string can be obtained as a special class of vacua of both the N-extended super $w_{n+1}$\ string and the (N+1)-extended super $w_n$\ string. This hierarchy of super $w$\ string theories includes as subhierarchies both the superstring hierarchy given by Bastianelli, Ohta and Petersen and the $w$\ string hierarchy given by the authors.
We present the Lax pair formalism for certain extension of the continuous limit of the classical Toda lattice hierarchy, provide a well defined notion of tau function for its solutions, and give an explicit formulation of the relationship between the $CP^1$ topological sigma model and the extended Toda hierarchy. We also establish an equivalence of the latter with certain extension of the nonlinear Schrödinger hierarchy.
We show how the two--matrix model and Toda lattice hierarchy presented in a previous paper can be solved exactly: we obtain compact formulas for correlators of pure tachyonic states at every genus. We then extend the model to incorporate a set of discrete states organized in finite dimensional $sl_2$ representations. We solve also this extended model and find the correlators of the discrete states by means of the $W$ constraints and the flow equations. Our results coincide with the ones existing in the literature in those cases in which particular correlators have been explicitly calculated. W…
We describe three different approaches to the extended (N=2) supersymmetrization of the multicomponent KP hierarchy. In the first one we utilize only superfermions while in the second only superbosons and in the third superbosons as well as superfermions. It is shown that many soliton equations can be embedded in the supersymmetry theory by using the first approach even if we do not change these equations in the bosonic limit of the supersymmetry. In the second or third approach we obtain a generalization of the soliton equations in the bosonic limit which remains in the class of the usual com…
We construct exceptional field theory for the duality group SL(3)$\times$SL(2). The theory is defined on a space with 8 `external' coordinates and 6 `internal' coordinates in the $(3,2)$ fundamental representation, leading to a 14-dimensional generalized spacetime. The bosonic theory is uniquely determined by gauge invariance under generalized external and internal diffeomorphisms. The latter invariance can be made manifest by introducing higher form gauge fields and a so-called tensor hierarchy, which we systematically develop to much higher degree than in previous studies. To this end we int…
The lattice Gelfand-Dickey hierarchy is a lattice version of the Gelfand-Dickey hierarchy. A special case is the lattice KdV hierarchy. Inspired by recent work of Buryak and Rossi, we propose an extension of the lattice Gelfand-Dickey hierarchy. The extended system has an infinite number of logarithmic flows alongside the usual flows. We present the Lax, Sato and Hirota equations and a factorization problem of difference operators that captures the whole set of solutions. The construction of this system resembles the extended 1D and bigraded Toda hierarchy, but exhibits several novel features …
In a companion paper to this one, we proved that the Gromov--Witten theory of a Fano orbifold line of type $D$ is governed by a system of Hirota Bilinear Equations. The goal of this paper is to prove that every solution to the Hirota Bilinear Equations determines a solution to a new integrable hierarchy of Lax equations. We suggest the name extended D-Toda hierarchy for this new system of Lax equations, because it should be viewed as the analogue of Carlet's extended bi-graded Toda hierarchy, which is known to govern the Gromov--Witten theory of Fano orbifold lines of type $A$
We examine the conformal property of the second Hamiltonian structure of constrained KP hierarchy derived by Oevel and Strampp. We find that it naturallygives a family of nonlocal extended conformal algebras. We give two examples of such algebras and find that they are similar to Bilal's V algebra. By taking a gauge transformation one can map the constrained KP hierarchy to Kuperschmidt's nonstandard Lax hierarchy. We consider the second Hamiltonian structure in this representation. We show that after mapping the Lax operator to a pure differential operator the second structure becomes the sum…
Tensor hierarchies are algebraic objects that emerge in gauging procedures in supergravity models, and that present a very deep and intricate relationship with Leibniz (or Loday) algebras. In this paper, we show that one can canonically associate a tensor hierarchy to any Loday algebra. By formalizing the construction that is performed in supergravity, we build this tensor hierarchy explicitly. We show that this tensor hierarchy can be canonically equipped with a differential graded Lie algebra structure that coincides with the one that is found in supergravity theories.
In this paper, we construct the additional symmetries of the fermionic $(2N,2M)$-Toda hierarchy basing on the generalization of the $N{=}(1|1)$ supersymmetric two dimensional Toda lattice hierarchy. These additional flows constitute a $w_{\infty}\times w_{\infty}$ Lie algebra. As a Bosonic reduction of the $N{=}(1|1)$ supersymmetric two dimensional Toda lattice hierarchy and the fermionic $(2N,2M)$-Toda hierarchy, we define a new extended fermionic $(2N,2M)$-Toda hierarchy which admits a Bosonic Block type superconformal structure.
In this paper, we construct the bilinear identities for the wave functions of an extended B-type Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (BKP) hierarchy, which contains two types of (2+1)-dimensional Sawada-Kotera equation with a self-consistent source (2d-SKwS-I and 2d-SKwS-II). By introducing an auxiliary variable corresponding to the extended flow for the BKP hierarchy, we find the tau-function and the bilinear identities for this extended BKP hierarchy. The bilinear identities can generate all the Hirota's bilinear equations for the zero-curvature forms of this extended BKP hierarchy. As examples, the Hiro…
Tensor models are generalization of matrix models, and are studied as models of quantum gravity. It is shown that the symmetry of the rank-three tensor models is generated by a hierarchy of n-ary algebras starting from the usual commutator, and the 3-ary algebra symmetry reported in the previous paper is just a single sector of the whole structure. The condition for the Leibnitz rules of the n-ary algebras is discussed from the perspective of the invariance of the underlying algebra under the n-ary transformations. It is shown that the n-ary transformations which keep the underlying algebraic …
The intermediate long wave (ILW) hierarchy and its generalization, labelled by a positive integer $N$, can be formulated as reductions of the lattice KP hierarchy. The integrability of the lattice KP hierarchy is inherited by these reduced systems. In particular, all solutions can be captured by a factorization problem of difference operators. A special solution among them is obtained from Okounkov and Pandharipande's dressing operators for the equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of $\mathbb{CP}^1$. This indicates a hidden link with the equivariant Toda hierarchy. The generalized ILW hierarchy is…
The quasiclassical solution to the extended Toda chain hierarchy, corresponding to the deformation of the simplest Seiberg-Witten theory by all descendants of the dual topological string model, is constructed explicitly in terms of the complex curve and generating differential. The first derivatives of prepotential or quasiclassical tau-function over the extra times, extending the Toda chain, are expressed through the multiple integrals of the Seiberg-Witten one-form. We derive the corresponding quasiclassical Virasoro constraints, discuss the functional formulation of the problem and propose …
An attempt is given to formulate the extensions of the KP hierarchy by introducing fractional order pseudo-differential operators. In the case of the extension with the half-order pseudo-differential operators, a system analogous to the supersymmetric extensions of the KP hierarchy is obtained. Unlike the supersymmetric extensions, no Grassmannian variable appears in the hierarchy considered here. More general hierarchies constructed by the 1/N-th order pseudo-differential operators, their integrability and the reduction procedure are also investigated. In addition to finding out the new exten…
A recently obtained extension (xncKP) of the Moyal-deformed KP hierarchy (ncKP hierarchy) by a set of evolution equations in the Moyal-deformation parameters is further explored. Formulae are derived to compute these equations efficiently. Reductions of the xncKP hierarchy are treated, in particular to the extended ncKdV and ncBoussinesq hierarchies. Furthermore, a good part of the Sato formalism for the KP hierarchy is carried over to the generalized framework. In particular, the well-known bilinear identity theorem for the KP hierarchy, expressed in terms of the (formal) Baker-Akhiezer funct…
We present a set of constraints on superfield strengths of the non-Abelian p-form potentials in D=6 (1,0) superspace which reproduces, as their selfconsistency conditions, the equations of motion of the recently proposed (1,0) superconformal theory. These include the anti-self-duality conditions for the field strength of the non-Abelian 2-form potential, duality between field strengths of the non-Abelian vectors and 3-forms as well as of the non-Abelian four forms and scalar fields.
In generalized Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with dilaton where bulk potential is generated by the antisymmetric tensor field the mass term of this field is introduced into the brane's Action. This permits to stabilize brane's position and hence to calculate the Planck/electroweek scales ratio which proves to depend non-analytically on the dilaton-antisymmetric tensor field coupling constant. The large observed number of mass hierarchy is achieved for the moderate value of this coupling constant of order 0,3. In the subsequent Paper II it is shown that the same approach in a higher dimensional th…
We consider the two-matrix model with potentials whose derivative are arbitrary rational function of fixed pole structure and the support of the spectra of the matrices are union of intervals (hard-edges). We derive an explicit formula for the planar limit of the free energy and we derive a calculus which allows to compute derivatives of arbitrarily high order by extending classical Rauch's variational formulae. The four-points correlation functions are explicitly worked out. The formalism extends naturally to the computation of residue formulae for the tau function of the so-called universal …
It is shown that $SL(n,R)$ KdV hierarchy can be expressed as definite nonpolynomials in Kac Moody currents and their derivatives by the action of Borel subgroup of $SL(n,R)$ on the phase space of centrally extended $sl(n,R)$ Kac Moody currents. Construction of Lax pair is shown, confirming Drinfeld Sokolov type Hamiltonian reduction. This suggests an example of a moduli space with symplectic structure corresponding to extended conformal symmetries.
We couple two copies of the supersymmetric mKdV hierarchy by means of the algebraic dressing technique. This allows to deduce the whole set of $(N,N)$ supersymmetry transformations of the relativistic sector of the extended mKdV hierarchy and to interpret them as fermionic symmetry flows. The construction is based on an extended Riemann-Hilbert problem for affine Kac-Moody superalgebras with a half-integer gradation. A generalized set of relativistic-like fermionic local current identities is introduced and it is shown that the simplest one, corresponding to the lowest isospectral times $t_{\p…
It is shown how the complex sine-Gordon equation arises as a symmetry flow of the AKNS hierarchy. The AKNS hierarchy is extended by the ``negative'' symmetry flows forming the Borel loop algebra. The complex sine-Gordon and the vector Nonlinear Schrodinger equations appear as lowest negative and second positive flows within the extended hierarchy. This is fully analogous to the well-known connection between the sine-Gordon and mKdV equations within the extended mKdV hierarchy. A general formalism for a Toda-like symmetry occupying the ``negative'' sector of sl(N) constrained KP hierarchy and g…
Gauge deformations of maximal supergravity in D=11-n dimensions generically give rise to a tensor hierarchy of p-form fields that transform in specific representations of the global symmetry group E(n). We derive the formulas defining the hierarchy from a Borcherds superalgebra corresponding to E(n). This explains why the E(n) representations in the tensor hierarchies also appear in the level decomposition of the Borcherds superalgebra. We show that the indefinite Kac-Moody algebra E(11) can be used equivalently to determine these representations, up to p=D, and for arbitrarily large p if E(11…
We consider the Dubrovin--Frobenius manifold of rank $2$ whose genus expansion at a special point controls the enumeration of a higher genera generalization of the Catalan numbers, or, equivalently, the enumeration of maps on surfaces, ribbon graphs, Grothendieck's dessins d'enfants, strictly monotone Hurwitz numbers, or lattice points in the moduli spaces of curves. Liu, Zhang, and Zhou conjectured that the full partition function of this Dubrovin--Frobenius manifold is a tau-function of the extended nonlinear Schrödinger hierarchy, an extension of a particular rational reduction of the Kadom…
Starting from $E_{11}$ and the space-time translations we construct an algebra that promotes the global $E_{11}$ symmetries to local ones, and consider all its possible massive deformations. The Jacobi identities imply that such deformations are uniquely determined by a single tensor that belongs to the same representation of the internal symmetry group as the $D-1$ forms specified by $E_{11}$. The non-linear realisation of the deformed algebra gives the field strengths of the theory which are those of any possible gauged maximal supergravity theory in any dimension. All the possible deformed …
The tensor hierarchy of maximal supergravity in D dimensions is known to be closely related to a Borcherds (super)algebra that is constructed from the global symmetry group E(11-D). We here explain how the Borcherds algebras in different dimensions are embedded into each other and can be constructed from a unifying Borcherds algebra. The construction also has a natural physical explanation in terms of oxidation. We then go on to show that the Hodge duality that is present in the tensor hierarchy has an algebraic counterpart. For D>8 the Borcherds algebras we find differ from the ones existing …
We consider a matrix space based on the spin degree of freedom, describing both a Hilbert state space, and its corresponding symmetry operators. Under the requirement that the Lorentz symmetry be kept, at given dimension, scalar symmetries, and their representations are determined. Symmetries are flavor or gauge-like, with fixed chirality. After spin 0, 1/2, and 1 fields are obtained in this space, we construct associated interactive gauge-invariant renormalizable terms, showing their equivalence to a Lagrangian formulation, using as example the previously studied (5+1)-dimensional case, with …
We discuss a differential integrable hierarchy, which we call the (N, M)$--th KdV hierarchy, whose Lax operator is obtained by properly adding $M$ pseudo--differential terms to the Lax operator of the N--th KdV hierarchy. This new hierarchy contains both the higher KdV hierarchy and multi--field representation of KP hierarchy as sub--systems and naturally appears in multi--matrix models. The N+2M-1 coordinates or fields of this hierarchy satisfy two algebras of compatible Poisson brackets which are {\it local} and {\it polynomial}. Each Poisson structure generate an extended W_{1+\infty} and W…
A relativistic version of the rational extended thermodynamics of polyatomic gases based on a new hierarchy of moments that takes into account the total energy composed by the rest energy and the energy of the molecular internal mode is proposed. The moment equations associated with the Boltzmann-Chernikov equation are derived, and the system for the first $15$ equations is closed by the procedure of the maximum entropy principle and by using an appropriate BGK model for the collisional term. The entropy principle with a convex entropy density is proved in a neighborhood of equilibrium state, …
The prepotential of the effective N=2 super-Yang-Mills theory perturbed in the ultraviolet by the descendents of the single-trace chiral operators is shown to be a particular tau-function of the quasiclassical Toda hierarchy. In the case of noncommutative U(1) theory (or U(N) theory with 2N-2 fundamental hypermultiplets at the appropriate locus of the moduli space of vacua) or a theory on a single fractional D3 brane at the ADE singularity the hierarchy is the dispersionless Toda chain. We present its explicit solutions. Our results generalize the limit shape analysis of Logan-Schepp and Versh…
We obtain the bi-Hamiltonian structure of the super KP hierarchy based on the even super KP operator $Λ= θ^{2} + \sum^{\infty}_{i=-2}U_{i} θ^{-i-1}$, as a supersymmetric extension of the ordinary KP bi-Hamiltonian structure. It is expected to give rise to a universal super $W$-algebra incorporating all known extended superconformal $W_{N}$ algebras by reduction. We also construct the super BKP hierarchy by imposing a set of anti-self-dual constraints on the super KP hierarchy.
Starting with the curvature 2-form a recursive construction of totally antisymmetrised 2p-forms is introduced, to which we refer as p-Riemann tensors. Contraction of indices permits a corresponding generalisation of the Ricci tensor. Static, spherically symmetric ``$p$-Ricci flat'' Schwarzschild like metrics are constructed in this context for d>2p+1, d being the spacetime dimension. The existence of de Sitter type solutions is pointed out. Our 2p-forms vanish for $d<2p$ and the limiting cases d=2p and d=2p+1 exhibit special features which are discussed briefly. It is shown that for d=4p our c…
We demonstrate dimensional ladder of higher dimensional quantum Hall effects by exploiting quantum Hall effects on arbitrary odd dimensional spheres. Non-relativistic and relativistic Landau models are analyzed on $S^{2k-1}$ in the $SO(2k-1)$ monopole background. The total sub-band degeneracy of the odd dimensional lowest Landau level is shown to be equal to the winding number from the base-manifold $S^{2k-1}$ to the one-dimension higher $SO(2k)$ gauge group. Based on the chiral Hopf maps, we clarify the underlying quantum Nambu geometry for odd dimensional quantum Hall effect and the resultin…
We suggest an infinite-dimensional extension of the gauge transformations which includes non-Abelian tensor gauge fields. Extended gauge transformations of non-Abelian tensor gauge fields form a new large group which has natural geometrical interpretation it terms of extended current algebra associated with compact Lie group. We shall demonstrate that one can construct two infinite series of gauge invariant quadratic forms, so that a linear combination of them comprises the general Lagrangian. The general Lagrangian exhibits enhanced local gauge invariants with double number of gauge parameter…
We gauge the abelian hierarchy of tensor fields in 4D by a Lie algebra. The resulting non-abelian tensor hierarchy can be interpreted via an equivariant chain complex. We lift this structure to N=1 superspace by constructing superfield analogs for the tensor fields, along with covariant superfield strengths. Next we construct Chern-Simons actions, for both the bosonic and N=1 cases, and note that the condition of gauge invariance can be presented cohomologically. Finally, we provide an explicit realization of these structures by dimensional reduction, for example by reducing the three-form of …
We give the formulation in extended superspace of an $N=2$ supersymmetric KP hierarchy using chirality preserving pseudo-differential operators. We obtain two quadratic hamiltonian structures, which lead to different reductions of the KP hierarchy. In particular we find two different hierarchies with the $N=2$ classical super-${\cal W}_n$ algebra as a hamiltonian structure. The relation with the formulation in $N=1$ superspace is carried out.
The presence of a domain wall is shown to require a tensorial central charge extension of the superconformal algebra. The currents associated with the conformal central charges are constructed as spacetime moments of the SUSY tensorial central charge current. The supercurrent is obtained and it contains the R symmetry current, the SUSY spinor currents, the energy-momentum tensor and the SUSY tensorial central charge currents as its component currents. All tensorial central charge extended superconformal currents are constructed from the supercurrent. The superconformal currents' and the confor…
Extended spinor connections associated with composite spin-tensorial bundles are considered. Commutation relationships for covariant and multivariate differentiations and corresponding curvature spin-tensors are derived.
A linear system, which generates a Moyal-deformed two-dimensional soliton equation as integrability condition, can be extended to a three-dimensional linear system, treating the deformation parameter as an additional coordinate. The supplementary integrability conditions result in a first order differential equation with respect to the deformation parameter, the flow of which commutes with the flow of the deformed soliton equation. In this way, a deformed soliton hierarchy can be extended to a bigger hierarchy by including the corresponding deformation equations. We prove the extended hierarch…
