A closed CR 3-manifold is said to have $C_{0}$-positive pseudohermitian curvature if $(W+C_{0}Tor)(X,X)>0$ for any $0\neq X\in T_{1,0}(M)$. We discover an obstruction for a closed CR 3-manifold to possess $C_{0}$-positive pseudohermitian curvature. We classify closed three-dimensional CR Yamabe solitons according to $C_{0}$-positivity and $C_{0}$-negativity whenever $C_{0}=1$ and the potential function lies in the kernel of Paneitz operator. Moreover, we show that any closed three-dimensional CR torsion soliton must be the standard Sasakian space form. At last, we discuss the persistence of $C_{0}$-positivity along the CR torsion flow starting from a pseudo-Einstein contact form.

We establish a new version of the CR almost Schur Lemma which gives an estimation of the pseudohermitian scalar curvature on a compact strictly pseudoconvex pseudohermitian manifold to be a constant in terms of the norm of the traceless Webster Ricci tensor and the pseudohermitian torsion under a certain positivity condition. In the torsion-free case, i.e. for a compact Sasakian manifold, our positivity condition coincides with the known one and we obtain a better estimate
We show how to associate with each graph with a certain property (positivity) a family of simply connected solvable Lie groups endowed with left-invariant Riemannian metrics that are Ricci solitons (called solsolitons). We classify them up to isometry, obtaining families depending on many parameters of explicit examples of Ricci solitons. A classification of graphs with up to 3 coherent components according to positivity is also given.
In this note we give a characterization of Kaehler metrics which are both Calabi extremal and Kaehler-Ricci solitons in terms of complex Hessians and the Riemann curvature tensor. We apply it to prove that, under the assumption of positivity of the holomorphic sectional curvature, these metrics are Einstein.

We give a one-parameter family of examples of shrinking Laplacian solitons, which are the second known solutions to the closed $G_2$-Laplacian flow with a finite-time singularity. The torsion forms and the Laplacian and Ricci operators of a large family of $G_2$-structures on different Lie groups are also studied. We apply these formulas to prove that, under a suitable extra condition, there is no closed eigenform for the Laplacian on such family.
We prove a structure theorem for homogeneous closed gradient Laplacian solitons and use it to show some examples of closed Laplacian solitons cannot be made gradient. More specifically, we show that the Laplacian solitons on nilpotent Lie groups found by Nicolini are not gradient up to homothetic $G_2$-structures except for $N_1$, where $f$ must be a Gaussian. We also show that the closed $G_2$-structure $φ_{12}$ on $N_{12}$ constructed by Fernández-Fino-Manero cannot be a gradient soliton. We further show that closed non-torsion-free gradient Laplacian solitons on almost abelian solvmanifolds…
In this paper, we investigate the geometry and classification of three-dimensional CR Yamabe solitons. In the compact case, we show that any 3-dimensional CR Yamabe soliton must have constant Tanaka-Webster scalar curvature; we also obtain a classification under the assumption that their potential functions are in the kernel of the CR Paneitz operator. In the complete case, we obtain a structure theorem on the diffeomorphism types of complete 3-dimensional pseudo-gradient CR Yamabe solitons (shrinking, or steady, or expanding) of vanishing torsion.
In this paper, we solve the so-called CR Poincaré-Lelong equation by solving the CR Poisson equation on a complete noncompact CR $(2n+1)$-manifold with nonegative pseudohermitian bisectional curvature tensors and vanishing torsion which is an odd dimensional counterpart of Kähler geometry. With applications of this solution plus the CR Liouvelle property, we study the structures of complete noncompact Sasakian manifolds and CR Yamabe steady solitons.
It is well known that if the dimension of the Sasaki cone is greater than one, then all Sasakian structures are either positive or indefinite. We discuss the phenomenon of type changing within a fixed Sasaki cone. Assuming henceforth that the dimension of the Sasaki cone is greater than one, there are three possibilities, either all elements are positive, all are indefinite, or both positive and indefinite Sasakian structures occur. We illustrate by examples how the type can change as we move in the Sasaki cone. If there exists a Sasakian structure in the cone whose total transverse scalar cur…
We use the bracket flow/algebraic soliton approach to study the Laplacian flow of $G_2$-structures and its solitons in the homogeneous case. We prove that any homogeneous Laplacian soliton is equivalent to a semi-algebraic soliton (i.e.\ a $G$-invariant $G_2$-structure on a homogeneous space $G/K$ that flows by pull-back of automorphisms of $G$ up to scaling). Algebraic solitons are geometrically characterized among Laplacian solitons as those with a `diagonal' evolution. Unlike the Ricci flow case, where any homogeneous Ricci soliton is isometric to an algebraic soliton, we have found, as an …
In this paper, it is shown that (with no additional assumptions) on a compact 7-dimensional manifold which admits a $G_2$-structure soliton solutions to the Laplacian flow of R. Bryant can only be shrinking or steady. We also show that the space of symmetries (vector fields that annihilate via the Lie derivative) of a torsion-free $G_2$-structure on a compact 7-manifold is canonically isomorphic to $H^1(M,\mathbb{R})$. Some comparisons with Ricci solitons are also discussed, along with some future directions of exploration.
We prove that closed manifolds admitting a generic metric whose sectional curvature is locally quasi-constant are graphs of space forms. In the more general setting of QC spaces where sets of isotropic points are arbitrary, under suitable positivity assumption and for torsion-free fundamental groups they are still diffeomorphic to connected sums of spherical space forms and spherical bundles over the circle.
We show that Perelman's W-functional can be generalized to Sasaki-Ricci flow. When the basic first Chern class is positive, we prove a uniform bound on the scalar curvature, the diameter and a uniform $C^1$ bound for the transverse Ricci potential along the Sasaki-Ricci flow, which generalizes Perelman's results Kahler-Ricci flow to the Sasakian setting. We also show that the positivity of transverse of holomorphic bisectional curvature is preserved along the flow, using the methods and the results proved by Bando and Mok in Kahler setting. In particular, we show that the Sasaki-Ricci flow wou…
We will prove the non-existence of positive radially symmetric solution of the nonlinear elliptic equation $\frac{n-1}{m}Δv^m+αv+βx\cdot\nabla u=0$ in $R^n$ when $n\ge 3$, $0<m\le\frac{n-2}{n}$, $α<0$ and $β\le 0$. Let $n\ge 3$ and $g=v^{\frac{4}{n+2}}dx^2$ be a metric on $\R^n$ where $v$ is a radially symmetric solution of the above elliptic equation in $R^n$ with $m=\frac{n-2}{n+2}$, $α=\frac{2β+ρ}{1-m}$ and $ρ\in R$. For $n\ge 3$, $m=\frac{n-2}{n+2}$, we will prove that $\lim_{r\to\infty}r^2v^{1-m}(r)=\frac{(n-1)(n-2)}ρ$ if $β>\fracρ{n-2}>0$, the scalar curvature $R(r)\toρ$ as $r\to\infty$ …
Let M^3 be a closed CR 3-manifold. In this paper we derive a Bochner formula for the Kohn Laplacian in which the pseudo-hermitian torsion plays no role. By means of this formula we show that the non-zero eigenvalues of the Kohn Laplacian are bounded below by a positive constant provided the CR Paneitz operator is non-negative and the Webster curvature is positive. Our lower bound for the non-zero eigenvalues is sharp and is attained on S^3. A consequence of our lower bound is that all compact CR 3-manifolds with non-negative CR Paneitz operator and positive CR Yamabe constant are embeddable. N…
