A homogeneous Dirichlet problem with $(p,q)$-Laplace differential operator and reaction given by a parametric $p$-convex term plus a $q$-concave one is investigated. A bifurcation-type result, describing changes in the set of positive solutions as the parameter $λ>0$ varies, is proven. Since for every admissible $λ$ the problem has a smallest positive solution $\bar u_λ$, both monotonicity and continuity of the map $ λ\mapsto \bar u_λ$ are studied.
We study a nonlinear elliptic problem defined in a bounded domain involving fractional powers of the Laplacian operator together with a concave-convex term. We characterize completely the range of parameters for which solutions of the problem exist and prove a multiplicity result.
In this paper we will prove the nodal line $N$ of the second eigenfunction of the Laplacian over some simply connected concave domain $Ω$ in $\mathbb{R}^2$ must intersect the boundary $\partialΩ$ at exactly two points.
In this paper we consider a class of critical concave convex Ambrosetti-Prodi type problems for the fractional $p$-Laplacian operator. By applying the Linking Theorem and the Mountain Pass Theorem as well, the interaction of the nonlinearities with the first eigenvalue of fractional $p$-Laplacian will be used to prove existence and multiplicity of solutions.
This paper deals with existence of positive solutions for a class of quasilinear elliptic systems involving the $Φ$-Laplacian operator and convex-concave singular terms. Our approach is based on the generalized Galerkin Method along with perturbartion techniques and comparison arguments in the setting of Orlicz-Sobolev spaces
In this paper, we consider a fractional p-Laplacian system with both concave-convex nonlinearities and sign-changing weight functions in bounded domains. With the help of the Nehari\ manifold, we prove that the system has at least two nontrivial solutions when the pair of the parameters $(λ,μ)$ belongs to a certain subset of $\mathbb{R}^{n}$
We study a $p$-Laplacian equation involving a parameter $λ$ and a concave-convex nonlinearity containing a weight which can change sign. By using the Nehari manifold and the fibering method, we show the existence of two positive solutions on some interval $(0,λ^*+\varepsilon)$, where $λ^*$ can be characterized variationally. We also study the asymptotic behavior of solutions when $λ\downarrow 0$.
We prove the existence of solutions for a class of quasilinear problems involving variable exponents and with nonlinearity having critical growth. The main tool used is the variational method, more precisely, Ekeland's Variational Principle and the Mountain Pass Theorem.
A Dirichlet problem driven by the $(p,q)$-Laplace operator and an asymmetric concave reaction with positive parameter is investigated. Four nontrivial smooth solutions (two positive, one negative, and the remaining nodal) are obtained once the parameter turns out to be sufficiently small. Under a oddness condition near the origin for the perturbation, a whole sequence of sign-changing solutions, which converges to zero, is produced.
We consider the Cauchy problem for heat equation with fractional Laplacian and exponential nonlinearity. We establish local well-posedness result in Orlicz spaces. We derive the existence of global solutions for small initial data. We obtain decay estimates for large time in Lebesgue spaces.
By exploiting a suitable Trudinger-Moser inequality for fractional Sobolev spaces, we obtain existence and multiplicity of solutions for a class of one-dimensional nonlocal equations with fractional diffusion and nonlinearity at exponential growth.
We study the following boundary value problem with a concave-convex nonlinearity: \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{r c l l} -Δ_p u & = & Λ\,u^{q-1}+ u^{r-1} & \textrm{in }Ω, \\ u & = & 0 & \textrm{on }\partialΩ. \end{array}\right. \end{equation*} Here $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ is a bounded domain and $1<q<p<r<p^*$. It is well known that there exists a number $Λ_{q,r}>0$ such that the problem admits at least two positive solutions for $0<Λ<Λ_{q,r}$, at least one positive solution for $Λ=Λ_{q,r}$, and no positive solution for $Λ> Λ_{q,r}$. We show that \[ \lim_{q \to p} Λ_{q,r} = λ_1(p), \]…
In this paper, we establish a local gradient estimate for a $p$-Lpalacian equation with a fast growing gradient nonlinearity. With this estimate, we can prove a parabolic Liouville theorem for ancient solutions satisfying some growth restriction near infinity.
In this paper, we use bifurcation method to investigate the existence and multiplicity of one-sign solutions of the $p$-Laplacian involving a linear/superlinear nonlinearity with zeros. To do this, we first establish a bifurcation theorem from infinity for nonlinear operator equation with homogeneous operator. To deal with the superlinear case, we establish several topological results involving superior limit.
In this work, the following fractional Laplacian problem with pure critical nonlinearity is considered \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} (-Δ)^{s} u=|u|^{\frac{4s}{N-2s}}u, &\mbox{in}\ \mathbb{R}^N, \\ u\in \mathcal{D}^{s,2}(\mathbb{R}^N), \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $s\in (0,1)$, $N$ is a positive integer with $N\geq 3$, $(-Δ)^{s}$ is the fractional Laplacian operator. We will prove that this problem has infinitely many non-radial sign-changing solutions.
In this work, we study a quasilinear elliptic problem involving the 1-laplacian operator, with a discontinuous, superlinear and subcritical nonlinearity involving the Heaviside function $H(\cdot - β)$. Our approach is based on an analysis of the associated p-laplacian problem, followed by a thorough analysis of the asymptotic behaviour or such solutions as $p \to 1^+$. We study also the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions, as $β\to 0^+$ and we prove that it converges to a solution of the original problem, without the discontinuity in the nonlinearity.
In this paper, we study the existence of three solutions for a Kirchhoff equation involving the nonlocal fractional p-Laplacian considering Sobolev and Hardy nonlinearities at subcritical and critical growths. The proof is based on Mountain Pass Theorem, Ekeland's variational principle and constrained minimization in Nehari sets.
We consider a parabolic-type PDE with a diffusion given by a fractional Laplacian operator and with a quadratic nonlinearity of the 'gradient' of the solution, convoluted with a singular term b. Our first result is the well-posedness for this problem: We show existence and uniqueness of a (local in time) mild solution. The main result is about blow-up of said solution, and in particular we find sufficient conditions on the initial datum and on the term b to ensure blow-up of the solution in finite time.
In this paper, we prove the existence of a weak solution for the Dirichlet boundary value problem related to the $p(x)-$Laplacian $$ -\mbox{div}(|\nabla u|^{p(x)-2}\nabla u)+u\in -[\underline{g}(x,u),\overline{g}(x,u)], $$ by using the degree theory after turning the problem into a Hammerstein equation. The right hand side $g$ is a possibly discontinuous function in the second variable satisfying some non-standard growth conditions..
In this article, we study the following fractional $p$-Laplacian equation with critical growth singular nonlinearity \begin{equation*} \quad (-\De_{p})^s u = \la u^{-q} + u^α, u>0 \; \text{in}\; \Om,\quad u = 0 \; \mbox{in}\; \mb R^n \setminus\Om. \end{equation*} where $\Om$ is a bounded domain in $\mb{R}^n$ with smooth boundary $\partial \Om$, $n > sp, s \in (0,1), \la >0, 0 < q \leq 1 $ and $α\le p^*_s-1$. We use variational methods to show the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions of above problem with respect to parameter $\la$.
We investigate the $p-$Laplace heat equation $u_t-Δ_p u=ζ(t)f(u)$ on a bounded smooth domain $Ω\subset\mathbb{R}^N$. Using differential inequalities arguments, we prove blow-up results under suitable conditions on $ζ, f$, and the initial data $u_0$. We also give an upper bound for the blow-up time in each case.
We study the bifurcation of solutions of semilinear elliptic boundary value problems of the form \begin{align*} \begin{aligned} -Δu &= f_λ(|x|,u,|\nabla u|) &&\text{in }Ω, u &= 0 &&\text{on }\partialΩ, \end{aligned} \end{align*} on an annulus $Ω\subset\mathbb{R}^N$, with a concave-convex nonlinearity, a special case being the nonlinearity first considered by Ambrosetti, Brezis and Cerami: $f_λ(|x|,u,|\nabla u|)=λ|u|^{q-2}u + |u|^{p-2}u$ with $1<q<2<p$. Although the trivial solution $u_0\equiv0$ is nondegenerate if $λ=0$ we prove that $(λ_0,u_0)=(0,0)$ is a bifurcation point. In fact, the bifur…
In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of positive classical solution of the fractional Laplacian with singular nonlinearity in a smooth bounded domain with zero Drichlet boundary conditions. By the method of sub-supersolution, we derive the existence of positive classical solution to the approximation problems. In order to obtain the regularity, we first establish the existence of weak solution for the fraction Laplacian. Thanks to \cite{XY}, the regularity follows from the boundedness of weak solution.
In this paper, we deal with existence, uniqueness and exact rate of boundary behavior of blow-up solutions for a class of logistic type quasilinear problem in a smooth bounded domain involving the $p$-Laplacian operator, where the nonlinearity can have a singular behavior. In the proof of the existence of solution, we have used the sub and super solution method in conjunction with variational techniques and comparison principles. Related to the rate on boundary and uniqueness, we combine a comparison principle proved in the present paper together with the our result of existence of solution.
We investigate the existence of infinitely many radially symmetric solutions to the following problem $$(-Δ_p)^s u=g(u) \ \ \textrm{ in } \ \ \mathbb{R}^N, \ \ u\in W^{s,p}(\mathbb{R}^N),$$ where $s\in (0,1)$, $2 \leq p < \infty$, $sp \leq N $, $2 \leq N \in \mathbb{N}$ and $(-Δ_p)^s$ is the fractional $p$-Laplacian operator. We treat both of cases $sp=N$ and $sp<N.$ The nonlinearity $g$ is a function of Berestycki-Lions type with critical exponential growth if $sp=N$ and critical polynomial growth if $sp<N$. We also prove the existence of a ground state solution for the same problem.
The aim of this paper is to study a nonlocal problem with a mixed Dirichlet-Neumann exterior condition. We prove existence, nonexistence and multiplicity of positive energy solutions and describe the interaction between the concave-convex nonlinearity and the Dirichlet-Neumann data.
Let $Ω$ be a bounded smooth domain in $\mathbb{R}^{4}$ such that for some integer $d\geq1$ its $d$-th singular cohomology group with coefficients in some field is not zero, then problem {Δ^{2}u-ρ^{4}k(x)e^{u}=0 & \hbox{in}Ω, u=Δu=0 & \hbox{on}\partialΩ, has a solution blowing-up, as $ρ\to0$, at $m$ points of $Ω$, for any given number $m$.
In this paper we study the existence of multiple nontrivial positive weak solutions to the following system of problems. \begin{align*} \begin{split} -Δ_{p}u-Δ_q u &= λf(x)|u|^{r-2}u+ν\frac{1-α}{2-α-β}h(x) |u|^{-α}|v|^{1-β}\,\,\mbox{in}\,\,Ω,\\ -Δ_{p}v-Δ_q v &= μg(x)|v|^{r-2}v+ν\frac{1-β}{2-α-β}h(x) |u|^{1-α}|v|^{-β}\,\,\mbox{in}\,\,Ω,\\ u,v&>0\,\,\mbox{in}\,\,Ω,\\ u= v &= 0\,\, \mbox{on}\,\, \partialΩ\end{split} \end{align*} where (C):~$0<α<1,\;0<β<1,$ $2-α-β<q<\frac{N(p-1)}{N-p}<p<r<p^*$, with $p^*=\frac{Np}{N-p}$. In the present work we investigate the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for the Choquard Logarithmic equation $(-Δ)^{\frac{1}{2}} u + au + λ(\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{2})u = f(u) \textrm{ in } \mathbb{R}$, for $ a>0 $, $ λ>0 $ and a nonlinearity $f$ with exponential critical growth. We prove the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution under exponential critical and subcritical growth. Morever, when $ f $ has subcritical growth we guarantee the existence of infinitely many solutions, via genus theory.
In this paper we deal with the multiplicity of positive solutions to the fractional Laplacian equation \begin{equation*} (-Δ)^{\fracα{2}} u=λf(x)|u|^{q-2}u+|u|^{2^{*}_α-2}u, \quad\text{in}\,\,Ω, u=0,\text{on}\,\,\partialΩ, \end{equation*} where $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^{N}(N\geq 2)$ is a bounded domain with smooth boundary, $0<α<2$, $(-Δ)^{\fracα{2}}$ stands for the fractional Laplacian operator, $f\in C(Ω\times\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})$ may be sign changing and $λ$ is a positive parameter. By using a suitable topological argument based on cohomological linking and by exploiting a Trudinger-Moser inequality in fractional spaces recently obtained, we prove existence of multiple solutions for a problem involving the nonlinear fractional laplacian and a related critical exponential nonlinearity. This extends results in the literature for the N-Laplacian operator.

We look for nonconstant, positive, radially nondecreasing solutions of the quasilinear equation $-Δ_p u+u^{p-1}=f(u)$ with $p>2$, in the unit ball $B$ of $\mathbb R^N$, subject to homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. The assumptions on the nonlinearity $f$ are very mild and allow it to be possibly supercritical in the sense of Sobolev embeddings. The main tools used are the truncation method and a mountain pass-type argument. In the pure power case, i.e., $f(u)=u^{q-1}$, we detect the limit profile of the solutions of the problems as $q\to\infty$.

By using the fibering method jointly with Nehari manifold techniques, we obtain the existence of multiple solutions to a fractional $p$-Laplacian system involving critical concave-convex nonlinearities provided that a suitable smallness condition on the parameters involved is assumed. The result is obtained despite there is no general classification for the optimizers of the critical fractional Sobolev embedding.
In this paper, we study the following Dirichlet problem for a parabolic equation involving fractional $p$-Laplacian with logarithmic nonlinearity \begin{equation*}\label{eq}\left\{ \begin{array}{llc} u_{t}+(-Δ)^{s}_{p}u+|u|^{p-2}u=|u|^{p-2}u\log(|u|) & \text{in}\ & Ω,\;t>0 , u =0 & \text{in} & \mathbb{R}^{N}\backslash Ω,\;t > 0, u(x,0)=u_{0}(x), & \text{in} &Ω, \end{array}\right. \end{equation*} where $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^N \, ( N\geq 1)$ is a bounded domain with Lipschitz boundary and $2\leq p< \infty$. This paper concerns the concentration of Dirichlet eigenfunctions of the Laplacian on a compact two-dimensional Riemannian manifold with strictly geodesically concave boundary. We link three inequalities which bound the concentration in different ways. We also prove one of these inequalities, which bounds the L^p norms of the restrictions of eigenfunctions to broken geodesics.
In this article, we study the existence/multiplicity results for the following variable order nonlocal Choquard problem with variable exponents \begin{equation*} \begin{array}{rl} (-Δ)_{p(\cdot)}^{s(\cdot)}u(x)&=λ|u(x)|^{α(x)-2}u(x)+\left(\DD\int_Ω\frac{F(y,u(y))}{|x-y|^{μ(x,y)}}dy\right)f(x,u(x)),\\ &~\hspace{6cm} x\in Ω, \\ u(x)&=0 ,\hspace{20mm} x\in Ω^c:=\mathbb R^N\setminusΩ, \end{array} \end{equation*} where $\Om\subset\mathbb R^N$ is a smooth and bounded domain, $N\geq 2$, $p,s,μ$ and $α$ are continuous functions on $\mathbb R^N\times\mathbb R^N$ and $f(x,t)$ is continuous function with…
In this paper, we are concern with the multiplicity of solutions for a p-Laplacian problem. A weaker super-quadratic assumptions is required on the nonlinearity. Under the weaker condition we give a new proof for the infinite solutions having a prescribed number of nodes to the problem. It turns out that the weaker condition on nonlinearity suffices to guarantee the infinitely many solutions. At the same time, a global characterization of the critical values of the nodal radial solutions are given.
In this paper we prove the existence of at least one positive solution for the nonlocal semipositone problem \[ \displaystyle \left\{\begin{array}{rcll} (-Δ)_p^s(u) &=& λf(u) \qquad & \text{in} \ \ Ω \\u &=& 0 & \text{in} \ \ \mathbb{R}^N -Ω, \end{array}\right. \] whenever $λ>0$ is a sufficiently small parameter. Here $Ω\subseteq \mathbb{R}^N$ a bounded domain with $C^{1,1}$ boundary, $2\leqslant p <N$, $s\in (0,1)$ and $f$ superlineal and subcritical. We prove that if $λ>0$ is chosen sufficiently small the associated Energy Functional to the problem has a mountain pass structure and, therefor…
We consider a nonlinear Dirichlet problem driven by the $(p,q)$-Laplacian with $1<q<p$. The reaction is parametric and exhibits the competing effects of a singular term and of concave and convex nonlinearities. We are looking for positive solutions and prove a bifurcation-type theorem describing in a precise way the set of positive solutions as the parameter varies. Moreover, we show the existence of a minimal positive solution and we study it as a function of the parameter.
It is established existence, multiplicity and asymptotic behavior of positive solutions for a quasilinear elliptic problem driven by the $Φ$-Laplacian operator. One of these solutions is obtained as ground state solution by applying the well known Nehari method. The semilinear term in the quasilinear equation is a concave-convex function which presents a critical behavior at infinity. The concentration compactness principle is used in order to recover the compactness required in variational methods.
