In this paper, a noncommutative gravitational theory is constructed by applying Moyal deformation quantization and the Seiberg-Witten map to teleparallel gravity, a classical gravitational theory, as a gauge theory of local translational symmetry. Since our model is based on teleparallel gravity, it is an extremely simple noncommutative gravitational theory. We also clearly divide the role of the products, such that the metric is responsible for the rule of the inner product (which is calculated by taking the sum over the subscripts) and the Moyal product is responsible for tensor and field noncommutativity. This solves problems related to the order of the products and the relationship between the metric and the Moyal product. Furthermore, we analyze the cosmic evolution of the very early universe and the spacetime features around black holes using the constructed noncommutative gravitational theory, and find that gravity acts repulsively in the extreme region where its quantum effects become prominent.
In this paper, we study static spherically symmetric wormhole solutions in extended teleparallel gravity with the inclusion of noncommutative geometry under Lorentzian distribution. We obtain expressions of matter components for non-diagonal tetrad. The effective energy-momentum tensor leads to the violation of energy conditions which impose condition on the normal matter to satisfy these conditions. We explore the noncommutative wormhole solutions by assuming a viable power-law $f(T)$ and shape function models. For the first model, we discuss two cases in which one leads to teleparallel gravi…
This study explores the Gaussian and the Lorentzian distributed spherically symmetric wormhole solutions in the $f(τ, T)$ gravity. The basic idea of the Gaussian and Lorentzian noncommutative geometries emerges as the physically acceptable and substantial notion in quantum physics. This idea of the noncommutative geometries with both the Gaussian and Lorentzian distributions becomes more striking when wormhole geometries in the modified theories of gravity are discussed. Here we consider a linear model within $f(τ,T)$ gravity to investigate traversable wormholes. In particular, we discuss the …
In this article we present the quantization process for Schwarzschild space-time in the context of Teleparallel gravity. In order to achieve such a goal we use the Weyl formalism that establishes a well defined correspondence between classical quantities which are realized by functions and quantum ones which are realized by operators. In the process of quantization we introduce a fundamental constant that is used to construct what we call the quantum of matter by the imposition of periodic conditions over the eigenfunction.
A quantum cosmology in teleparallel gravity is presented in this article. Teleparallel gravity is used to perform such an analysis once in General Relativity (GR) the concept of gravitational energy is misleading preventing the establishment of a concise quantum cosmology. The Wheeler-DeWitt like equation is obtained using the Weyl quantization and the teleparallel expression of energy.
We consider the quantization of matter fields in a background described by the teleparallel equivalent to general relativity. The presence of local Lorentz and gauge symmetries gives rise to different coupling prescriptions, which we analyse separately. As expected, quantum matter fields produce divergences that cannot be absorbed by terms in the background action of teleparallel equivalent to general relativity. Nonetheless, the formulation of teleparallel gravity allows one to find out the source of the problem. By imposing local Lorentz invariance after quantization, we show that a modified…
We study a noncommutative theory of gravity in the framework of torsional spacetime. This theory is based on a Lagrangian obtained by applying the technique of dimensional reduction of noncommutative gauge theory and that the yielded diffeomorphism invariant field theory can be made equivalent to a teleparallel formulation of gravity. Field equations are derived in the framework of teleparallel gravity through Weitzenbock geometry. We solve these field equations by considering a mass that is distributed spherically symmetrically in a stationary static spacetime in order to obtain a noncommutat…
Teleparallel gravity, a gauge theory for the translation group, turns up as fully equivalent to Einstein's general relativity. In spite of this equivalence, it provides a whole new insight into gravitation. It breaks several paradigms related to the geometric approach of general relativity, and introduces new concepts in the description of the gravitational interaction. The purpose of this chapter is to explore some of these concepts, as well as discuss possible consequences for gravitation, mainly those that could be relevant for the quantization of the gravitational field.
Quantized expressions for the gravitational energy and momentum are derived from a linearized theory of teleparallel gravity. The derivation relies on a second-quantization procedure that constructs annihilation and creation operators for the graviton. The resulting gravitational field is a collection of gravitons, each of which has precise energy and momentum. On the basis of the weak-field approximation of Schwarzschild's solution, a new form for the quantization of the mass of a black hole is derived.
Black holes in noncommutative geometry background are considered to be quantized in accordance with the holographic principle. Incomplete gamma function involving the effective black hole mass is replaced by a discrete sum. The mass spectrum as well as the temperature of black holes is presented. The spectra are discrete ones but the shapes are very consistent with the known continuous results.
Model of noncommutative gravity is constructed by means of Fedosov deformation quantization of endomorphism bundle. The fields describing noncommutativity -- symplectic form and symplectic connection -- are dynamical, and the resulting theory is completely coordinate covariant and background independent. Its interpretation in terms of Seiberg-Witten map is provided. Also, new action for ordinary (commutative) general relativity is given, which in the present context appears as a commutative limit of noncommutative theory.
A space of kinematic quantum states for the Teleparallel Equivalent of General Relativity is constructed by means of projective techniques. The states are kinematic in this sense that their construction bases merely on the structure of the phase space of the theory and does not take into account constraints on it. The space of quantum states is meant to serve as an element of a canonical quantization of the theory.
Noncommutative black holes in higher dimensions are investigated in the context of holographic principle. Quantization rules for the discrete mass spectrum are derived and compared with the continuous spectrum in the literature. Because of the noncommutative nature of background geometry the minimum mass to form a noncommutative black hole is very large (it becomes larger for discrete spectra), so the current LHC search results for mini black holes cannot exclude the possibility of quantum gravity in higher dimensions.
The loop quantization of 3d gravity consists in defining the Hilbert space of states satisfying the Gauß constraint and the flatness constraint. The Gauß constraint is enforced at the kinematical level by introducing spin networks which form a basis for the Hilbert space of gauge invariant functionals. The flatness constraint is implemented at the dynamical level via the Ponzano-Regge state-sum model. We propose in this work a dual loop quantization scheme where the role of the constraints is exchanged. The flatness constraint is imposed first via the introduction of a new basis labeled by gro…
We present a new Hamiltonian formulation of the Teleparallel Equivalent of General Relativity (TEGR) meant to serve as the departure point for canonical quantization of the theory. TEGR is considered here as a theory of a cotetrad field on a spacetime. The Hamiltonian formulation is derived by means of an ADM-like 3+1 decomposition of the field and without any gauge fixing. A complete set of constraints on the phase space and their algebra are presented. The formulation is described in terms of differential forms.
A physical interpretation of the two-sheeted space, the most fundamental ingredient of noncommutative spectral geometry proposed by Connes as an approach to unification, is presented. It is shown that the doubling of the algebra is related to dissipation and to the gauge structure of the theory, the gauge field acting as a reservoir for the matter field. In a regime of completely deterministic dynamics, dissipation appears to play a key role in the quantization of the theory, according to 't Hooft's conjecture. It is thus argued that the noncommutative spectral geometry classical construction …
General relativity has two fundamental problems that render it unsuitable for tackling the gravitational field's quantization. The first problem is the lack of a genuine gravitational variable representing gravitation only, inertial forces apart. The second problem is its incompatibility with quantum mechanics, a problem inherited from the more fundamental conflict of special relativity with quantum mechanics. A procedure to overcome these difficulties is outlined, which amounts to replacing general relativity with its teleparallel equivalent and the Poincaré-invariant special relativity with …
A conical topological defect is the result of translational and/or rotational deformations of spacetime, in particular the Burgers vector describes the translational deformation. Such a configuration represents a discontinuity, that cannot be removed by coordinate transformations, and is related to the spacetime torsion. Using the Teleparallel Equivalent of General Relativity (TERG), a gravitational theory that is dynamically equivalent to General Relativity (GR), we investigate the consequences of assuming a discrete Burgers vector on the geodesic motion of particles around a static conical d…
We obtain an exact analytic expression for the quasinormal modes of a noncommutative massless scalar field in the background of a massive spinless BTZ black hole up to the first order in the deformation parameter. We also show that the equations of motion governing these quasinormal modes are identical in form to the equations of motion of a commutative massive scalar field in the background of a fictitious massive spinning BTZ black hole. This results hints at a duality between the commutative and noncommutative systems in the background of a BTZ black hole. Using the obtained results for qua…
Over the last decade a growing number of quantum-gravity researchers has been looking for opportunities for the first ever experimental evidence of a Planck-length quantum property of spacetime. These studies are usually based on the analysis of some candidate indirect implications of spacetime quantization, such as a possible curvature of momentum space. Some recent proposals have raised hope that we might also gain direct experimental access to quantum properties of spacetime, by finding evidence of limitations to the measurability of the center-of-mass coordinates of some macroscopic bodies…
We study a noncanonical Hilbert space representation of the polymer quantum mechanics. It is shown that Heisenberg algebra get some modifications in the constructed setup from which a generalized uncertainty principle will naturally come out. Although the extracted physical results are the same as those obtained from the standard canonical representation, the noncanonical representation may be notable in view of its possible connection with the generalized uncertainty theories suggested by string theory. In this regard, by considering an Snyder-deformed Heisenberg algebra we show that since th…
The paper shows deep connections between exotic smoothings of small R^4, noncommutative algebras of foliations and quantization. At first, based on the close relation of foliations and noncommutative C*-algebras we show that cyclic cohomology invariants characterize some small exotic R^4. Certain exotic smooth R^4's define a generalized embedding into a space which is K-theoretic equivalent to a noncommutative Banach algebra. Furthermore, we show that a factor III von Neumann algebra is naturally related with nonstandard smoothing of a small R^4 and conjecture that this factor is the unique hy…
In the construction of spectral manifolds in noncommutative geometry, a higher degree Heisenberg commutation relation involving the Dirac operator and the Feynman slash of real scalar fields naturally appears and implies, by equality with the index formula, the quantization of the volume. We first show that this condition implies that the manifold decomposes into disconnected spheres which will represent quanta of geometry. We then refine the condition by involving the real structure and two types of geometric quanta, and show that connected spin-manifolds with large quantized volume are then …
In this article we study the quantization of a free real scalar field on a class of noncommutative manifolds, obtained via formal deformation quantization using triangular Drinfel'd twists. We construct deformed quadratic action functionals and compute the corresponding equation of motion operators. The Green's operators and the fundamental solution of the deformed equation of motion are obtained in terms of formal power series. It is shown that, using the deformed fundamental solution, we can define deformed *-algebras of field observables, which in general depend on the spacetime deformation…
