We study the $p$-Choquard equation in 3-dimensional case and establish existence and uniqueness of ground states for the corresponding Weinstein functional. For proving the uniqueness of ground states, we use the radial symmetry to transform the equation into an ordinary differential system, and applying the Pohozaev identities and Gronwall lemma we show that any two Weinstein minimizers coincide.
We obtain uniqueness and nondegeneracy results for ground states of Choquard equations $-Δu+u=\left(|x|^{-1}\ast|u|^{p}\right)|u|^{p-2}u$ in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$, provided that $p>2$ and $p$ is sufficiently close to 2.
Consider nonlinear Choquard equations \begin{equation*} \left\{\begin{array}{rcl} -Δu +u & = &(I_α*|u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u \quad \text{in } \mathbb{R}^N, \\ \lim_{x \to \infty}u(x) & = &0, \end{array}\right. \end{equation*} where $I_α$ denotes Riesz potential and $α\in (0, N)$. In this paper, we investigate limit profiles of ground states of nonlinear Choquard equations as $α\to 0$ or $α\to N$. This leads to the uniqueness and nondegeneracy of ground states when $α$ is sufficiently close to $0$ or close to $N$.
We consider the positive solutions for the nonlocal Choquard equation $- Δu + u - (|\cdot|^{-α} * |u|^p) |u|^{p-2} u = 0$ in $\mathbb{R}^d$. Compared with ground states, positive solutions form a larger class of solutions and lack variational information. Within the range of parameters of Ma-Zhao's result [Ma-Zhao, 2010] on symmetry, we prove a priori estimates for positive solutions, generalizing the classical method of De Figueiredo-Lions-Russbaum [De Figueiredo-Lions-Nussbaum, 1982] to the unbounded domain and the nonlocal nonlinearity in our model. As an application, we show uniqueness and…
This paper is concerned with the qualitative properties of the positive ground state solutions to the nonlocal Choquard type equation on a ball $B_R$. First, we prove the radial symmetry of the positive ground state solutions by using Talenti's inequality. Next we develop Newton's Theorem and then resort to the contraction mapping principle to establish the uniqueness of the positive ground state solutions. Finally, by constructing cut-off functions and applying energy comparison method, we show the convergence of the positive ground state solutions as $R\to \infty$. Our results generalize and…
We consider the generalized Choquard equation describing trapped electron gas in 3 dimensional case. The study of orbital stability of the energy minimizers (known as ground states) depends essentially in the local uniqueness of these minimizers. In equivalent way one can optimize the Gagliardo--Nirenberg inequality subject to the constraint fixing the $L^2$ norm. The uniqueness of the minimizers for the case $p=2$, i.e. for the case of Hartree--Choquard is well known. The main difficulty for the case $p > 2$ is connected with possible lack of control on the $L^p$ norm of the minimizers.
In this paper, an autonomous Choquard equation with the upper critical exponent is considered. By using the Pohožaev constraint method, the subcritical approximation method and the compactness lemma of Strauss, a groundstate solution in $H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$ which is positive and radially symmetric is obtained. The result here extends and complements the earlier theorems.
We derive the asymptotic decay of the unique positive, radially symmetric solution to the logarithmic Choquard equation $$ - Δu + a u = \frac{1}{2 π} \Bigl[\ln \frac{1}{|x|}* |u|^2 \Bigr] \ u \qquad \text{in $\mathbb{R}^2$} $$ and we establish its nondegeneracy. For the corresponding three-dimensional problem, the nondegeneracy property of the positive ground state to the Choquard equation was proved by E. Lenzmann (Analysis & PDE, 2009).
We prove the existence of a nontrivial groundstate solution for the class of nonlinear Choquard equation $$ -Δu+u=(I_α*F(u))F'(u)\qquad\text{in }\mathbb{R}^2, $$ where $I_α$ is the Riesz potential of order $α$ on the plane $\mathbb{R}^2$ under general nontriviality, growth and subcriticality on the nonlinearity $F \in C^1 (\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})$.
We consider the stationary magnetic nonlinear Choquard equation \[-(\nabla+iA(x))^2u+ V(x)u=\bigg(\frac{1}{|x|^α}*F(|u|)\bigg)\frac{f(|u|)}{|u|}{u},\] where $A: \mathbb{R}^{N}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}^{N}$ is a vector potential, $V$ is a scalar potential, $f\colon\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}$ and $F$ is the primitive of $f$. Under mild hypotheses, we prove the existence of a ground state solution for this problem. We also prove a simple multiplicity result by applying Ljusternik-Schnirelmann methods.
We study the following nonlinear Choquard equation driven by a fractional Laplacian: $$ (-Δ)^{s}u+ u =(|x|^{-μ}\ast F(u))f(u)|{4.14mm}{in}|{1.14mm} \mathbb{R}^N, $$ with $N\geq3$, $s\in(0,1)$ and $μ\in(0,N)$. By Supposing that the nonlinearities satisfy the general Berestycki-Lions type conditions \cite{BL}, we are able to prove the existence of groundstates for this equation by variational methods.
We prove the existence of a nontrivial solution (u \in H^1 (\R^N)) to the nonlinear Choquard equation [- Δu + u = \bigl(I_α\ast F (u)\bigr) F' (u) \quad \text{in (\R^N),}] where (I_α) is a Riesz potential, under almost necessary conditions on the nonlinearity (F) in the spirit of Berestycki and Lions. This solution is a groundstate; if moreover (F) is even and monotone on ((0,\infty)), then (u) is of constant sign and radially symmetric.
We consider a semilinear elliptic problem [- Δu + u = (I_α\ast \abs{u}^p) \abs{u}^{p - 2} u \quad\text{in (\mathbb{R}^N),}] where (I_α) is a Riesz potential and (p>1). This family of equations includes the Choquard or nonlinear Schrödinger-Newton equation. For an optimal range of parameters we prove the existence of a positive groundstate solution of the equation. We also establish regularity and positivity of the groundstates and prove that all positive groundstates are radially symmetric and monotone decaying about some point. Finally, we derive the decay asymptotics at infinity of the groun…
In this paper, let $G$ be a Cayley graph of a discrete group of polynomial growth with homogeneous dimension $N\geq3$. We study the Choquard type equation on $G$: \begin{equation} Δu+(R_α\ast\mid u\mid^{p})\mid u\mid^{p-2}u=0, \end{equation} where $α\in(0,N)$, $p>\frac{N+α}{N-2}$ and $R_α$ stands for the Green's function of the discrete fractional Laplace operator, which has same asymptotics as the Riesz potential. We prove the discrete Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality on such Cayley graphs, and by the discrete Concentration-Compactness principle we prove the existence of extremal functions…
We discuss the existence of ground state solutions for the Choquard equation $$-Δu=(I_α*F(u))F'(u)\quad\quad\quad\text{in }\mathbb R^N.$$ We prove the existence of solutions under general hypotheses, investigating in particular the case of a homogeneous nonlinearity $F(u)=\frac{|u|^p}p$. The cases $N=2$ and $N\ge3$ are treated differently in some steps. The solutions are found through a variational mountain pass strategy. The result presented are contained in the papers with arXiv ID 1212.2027 and 1604.03294
We consider a nonlinear Choquard equation $$ -Δu+u= (V * |u|^p )|u|^{p-2}u \qquad \text{in }\mathbb{R}^N, $$ when the self-interaction potential $V$ is unbounded from below. Under some assumptions on $V$ and on $p$, covering $p =2$ and $V$ being the one- or two-dimensional Newton kernel, we prove the existence of a nontrivial groundstate solution $u\in H^1 (\mathbb{R}^N)\setminus\{0\}$ by solving a relaxed problem by a constrained minimization and then proving the convergence of the relaxed solutions to a groundstate of the original equation.
In this paper, we study normalized ground state solutions for the following nonautonomous Choquard equation: $$-Δu-λu=\left(\frac{1}{|x|^μ}\ast A|u|^{p}\right)A|u|^{p-2}u,\quad \int_{\mathbb{R}^{N}}|u|^{2}dx=c,\quad u\in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N,\mathbb{R}),$$ where $c>0$, $0<μ<N$, $λ\in\mathbb{R}$, $A\in C^1(\mathbb{R}^N,\mathbb{R})$. For $p\in(2_{*,μ}, \bar{p})$, we prove that the Choquard equation possesses ground state normalized solutions, and the set of ground states is orbitally stable. For $p\in (\bar{p},2^*_μ)$, we find a normalized solution, which is not a global minimizer. $2^*_μ$ and $2_{*…
We prove the existence of ground state solutions by variational methods to the nonlinear Choquard equations with a nonlinear perturbation \[ -Δu+ u=\big(I_α*|u|^{\fracα{N}+1}\big)|u|^{\fracα{N}-1}u+f(x,u)\qquad \text{ in } \mathbb{R}^N \] where $N\geq 1$, $I_α$ is the Riesz potential of order $α\in (0, N)$, the exponent $\fracα{N}+1$ is critical with respect to the Hardy--Littlewood--Sobolev inequality and the nonlinear perturbation $f$ satisfies suitable growth and structural assumptions.
We are concerned with the existence of ground states for nonlinear Choquard equations involving a critical nonlinearity in the sense of Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev. Our result complements previous results by Moroz and Van Schaftingen where the subcritical case was considered. Then, we focus on the existence of semi-classical states and by using a truncation argument approach, we establish the existence and concentration of single peak solutions concentrating around minima of the Schrödinger potential, as the Planck constant goes to zero. The result is robust in the sense that the nonlinearity is …
We consider the following nonlinear fractional Choquard equation, \begin{equation}\label{e:introduction} \begin{cases} (-Δ)^{s} u + u = (1 + a(x))(I_α\ast (|u|^{p}))|u|^{p - 2}u\quad\text{ in }\mathbb{R}^N,\\ u(x)\to 0\quad\text{ as }|x|\to \infty, \end{cases} \end{equation} here $s\in (0, 1)$, $α\in (0, N)$, $p\in [2, \infty)$ and $\frac{N - 2s}{N + α} < \frac{1}{p} < \frac{N}{N + α}$. Assume $\lim_{|x|\to\infty}a(x) = 0$ and satisfying suitable assumptions but not requiring any symmetry property on $a(x)$, we prove the existence of ground state solutions.
We study the Choquard equation with a local perturbation \begin{equation*} -Δu=λu+(I_α\ast|u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u+μ|u|^{q-2}u,\ x\in \mathbb{R}^{N} \end{equation*} having prescribed mass \begin{equation*} \int_{\mathbb{R}^N}|u|^2dx=a^2. \end{equation*} For a $L^2$-critical or $L^2$-supercritical perturbation $μ|u|^{q-2}u$, we prove nonexistence, existence and symmetry of normalized ground states, by using the mountain pass lemma, the Pohožaev constraint method, the Schwartz symmetrization rearrangements and some theories of polarizations. In particular, our results cover the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev …
In this paper, we consider the normalized ground state solution for the following biharmonic Choquard type problem \begin{align*} \begin{split} \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} Δ^2u-βΔu=λu+(I_μ*F(u))f(u), \quad\mbox{in}\ \ \mathbb{R}^4, \displaystyle\int_{\mathbb{R}^4}|u|^2dx=c^2,\quad u\in H^2(\mathbb{R}^4), \end{array} \right. \end{split} \end{align*} where $β\geq0$, $c>0$, $λ\in \mathbb{R}$, $I_μ=\frac{1}{|x|^μ}$ with $μ\in (0,4)$, $F(u)$ is the primitive function of $f(u)$, and $f$ is a continuous function with exponential critical growth in the sense of the Adams inequality. By using a minimax p…
We investigate the soliton dynamics for a class of nonlinear Schrödinger equations with a non-local nonlinear term. In particular, we consider what we call {\em generalized Choquard equation} where the nonlinear term is $(|x|^{θ-N} * |u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u$. This problem is particularly interesting because the ground state solutions are not known to be unique or non-degenerate.
We consider nonlinear Choquard equation $$ - Δu + V u = \bigl(I_α\ast |u|^{\fracα{N}+1}\bigr) |u|^{\fracα{N}-1} u\quad\text{in (\mathbb{R}^N)},$$ where $N \ge 3$, $V \in L^\infty (\mathbb{R}^N)$ is an external potential and $I_α(x)$ is the Riesz potential of order $α\in (0, N)$. The power $\fracα{N}+1$ in the nonlocal part of the equation is critical with respect to the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. As a consequence, in the associated minimization problem a loss of compactness may occur. We prove that if $\liminf_{|x| \to \infty} \bigl(1 - V (x)\bigr)|x|^2 > \frac{N^2 (N - 2)}{4 (N + 1)…
In this paper, we study the long-time behavior of global solutions to the Schrödinger-Choquard equation $$i\partial_tu+Δu=-(I_α\ast|\cdot|^b|u|^{p})|\cdot|^b|u|^{p-2}u.$$ Inspired by Murphy, who gave a simple proof of scattering for the non-radial inhomogeneous NLS, we prove scattering theory below the ground state for the intercritical case in energy space without radial assumption.
For the Choquard equation, which is a nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger type equation, $ -Δu+V_{μ,ν} u=(I_α\ast |u|^{\frac{N+α}{N}}){|u|}^{\fracα{N}-1}u$, in $\mathbb{R}^N$ where $N\ge 3$, $V_{μ, ν} : \mathbb{R}^N \to \mathbb{R}$ is an external potential defined for $μ,ν\in\mathbb{R}$ and $x \in \mathbb{R}^N$ by $V_{μ, ν} (x)=1-μ/(ν^2 + |x|^2)$ and $I_α: \mathbb{R}^N \to 0$ is the Riesz potential for $α\in (0,N)$, we exhibit two thresholds $μ_ν,μ^ν>0$ such that the equation admits a positive ground state solution if and only if $μ_ν<μ<μ^ν$ and no ground state solution exists for $μ<μ_ν$. Moreover…
In this paper, the Choquard equation with an inverse-square potential and both focusing and defocusing nonlinearities in the energy-subcritical regime is investigated. For all the cases, the local well-posedness result in $H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$ is established. Moreover, the global existence result for arbitrary initial values is proved in the defocusing case while a global existence/blowup dichotomy below the ground state is established in the focusing case.
In this article we study the existence of weak solution, existence of ground state solution using Nehari manifold and existence of infinitely many solutions using Fountain theorem and Dual fountain theorem for a class of doubly nonlocal Kirchhoff-Choquard type equations involving the variable-order fractional $p(\cdot)-$ Laplacian operator. Here the nonlinearity does not satisfy the well known Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz type condition.
In this paper we study quasilinear elliptic equations driven by the double phase operator involving a Choquard term of the form \begin{align*} -\mathcal{L}_{p,q}^{a}(u) + |u|^{p-2}u+ a(x) |u|^{q-2}u = \left( \int_{\mathbb{R}^N} \frac{F(y, u)}{|x-y|^μ}\,\mathrm{d} y\right)f(x,u) \quad\text{in } \mathbb{R}^N, \end{align*} where $\mathcal{L}_{p,q}^{a}$ is the double phase operator given by \begin{align*} \mathcal{L}_{p,q}^{a}(u):= \operatorname{div}\big(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u + a(x) |\nabla u|^{q-2}\nabla u \big), \quad u\in W^{1,\mathcal{H}}(\mathbb{R}^N), \end{align*} $0<μ<N$, $1<p<N$, $p<q<p…
We are interested in the general Choquard equation \begin{multline*} \sqrt{\strut -Δ+ m^2} \ u - mu + V(x)u - \fracμ{|x|} u = \left( \int_{\mathbb{R}^N} \frac{F(y,u(y))}{|x-y|^{N-α}} \, dy \right) f(x,u) - K (x) |u|^{q-2}u \end{multline*} under suitable assumptions on the bounded potential \(V\) and on the nonlinearity \(f\). Our analysis extends recent results by the second and third author on the problem with $μ= 0$ and pure-power nonlinearity $f(x,u)=|u|^{p-2}u$. We show that, under appropriate assumptions on the potential, whether the ground state does exist or not. Finally, we study the a…
In the present work we are concerned with the Choquard Logarithmic equation $-Δu + au + λ(\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{2})u = f(u)$ in $\mathbb{R}^2$, for $ a>0 $, $ λ>0 $ and a nonlinearity $f$ with exponential critical growth. We prove the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution. Also, we provide these results under a symmetric setting, taking into account subgroups of $ O(2) $.

In this paper, we establish the existence of ground state solutions for Choquard equations \begin{equation}\label{eq 1} - Δu + u = q\,(I_α\ast |u|^p) |u|^{q - 2} u+p\,(I_α\ast |u|^q) |u|^{p - 2} u\quad {\rm in }\quad \mathbb{R}^N, \end{equation} where $N \ge 3$, $α\in (0, N)$, $I_α: \mathbb{R}^N \to \mathbb{R}$ is the Riesz potential, $p,\,q >0$ satisfying that \begin{equation}\label{eq 2} \frac{2(N+α)}{N}<p+q< \frac{2(N+α)}{N-2}. \end{equation} Moreover, we prove a Pohožaev type identity for this Choquard equation, which implies the non-existence result for the problem when $(p,q)$ does not s…
In this paper we study the semiclassical limit for the singularly perturbed Choquard equation $$ -\vr^2Δu +V(x)u =\vr^{μ-3}\Big(\int_{\R^3} \frac{Q(y)G(u(y))}{|x-y|^μ}dy\Big)Q(x)g(u) \quad \mbox{in $\R^3$}, $$ where $0<μ<3$, $\vr$ is a positive parameter, $V,Q$ are two continuous real function on $\R^3$ and $G$ is the primitive of $g$ which is of critical growth due to the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. Under suitable assumptions on the nonlinearity $g$, we first establish the existence of ground states for the critical Choquard equation with constant coefficients in $\R^3$. Next we esta…
In this paper, we study the nonlocal Choquard equation $$ -\varepsilon^2 Δu_\varepsilon + V u_\varepsilon= (I_α* |u_\varepsilon|^p)|u_\varepsilon|^{p-2}u_\varepsilon $$ where $N\geq 1$, $I_α$ is the Riesz potential of order $α\in (0, N)$ and $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter. When the nonnegative potential $V\in C (\mathbb{R}^N)$ achieves $0$ with a homogeneous behaviour or on the closure of an open set but remains bounded away from $0$ at infinity, we show the existence of groundstate solutions for small $\varepsilon>0$ and exhibit the concentration behaviour as $\varepsilon\to 0$.
In the present work we investigate the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for the Choquard Logarithmic equation $(-Δ)^{\frac{1}{2}} u + au + λ(\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{2})u = f(u) \textrm{ in } \mathbb{R}$, for $ a>0 $, $ λ>0 $ and a nonlinearity $f$ with exponential critical growth. We prove the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution under exponential critical and subcritical growth. Morever, when $ f $ has subcritical growth we guarantee the existence of infinitely many solutions, via genus theory.

In the present work we briefly explain how to adapt techniques already used in fractional and $p$-fractional Laplacian cases to obtain the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution, for the critical case, and the existence of infinitely many solutions, for the subcritical case, to the Choquard Logarithmic equation, $-Δ_N u + a(x)|u|^{N-2}u + λ(\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{N})|u|^{N-2}u = f(u) \textrm{ in } \mathbb{R}^N $, where $ a:\mathbb{R}^N \rightarrow \mathbb{R} $, $ λ>0 $, $ N \geq 3 $ and $f: \mathbb{R} \rightarrow [0, \infty) $ is conti…
In this paper, we study nonlinear Choquard equations \begin{equation}\label{eq 1a1-} (-Δ+id)^{\frac{1}{2}}u=(I_α*{|u|^p})|u|^{p-2}u\ \ {\rm in} \ \ \mathbb{R}^N, \ \ \ u\in H^{\frac{1}{2}}(\mathbb{R}^N), \end{equation} where $(-Δ+id)^\frac{1}{2}$ is a nonlocal operator, $p>0$, $N\geq2$ and $I_α$ is the Riesz potential with order $α\in(0,N)$. We show that there is a ground state solution to the above problem if $\frac{N+α}{N}<p<\frac{N+α}{N-1}$ and no solution if $0<p\leq\frac{N+α}{N+1}$ or $p\geq\frac{N+α}{N-1}$.
