In the present work we briefly explain how to adapt techniques already used in fractional and $p$-fractional Laplacian cases to obtain the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution, for the critical case, and the existence of infinitely many solutions, for the subcritical case, to the Choquard Logarithmic equation, $-Δ_N u + a(x)|u|^{N-2}u + λ(\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{N})|u|^{N-2}u = f(u) \textrm{ in } \mathbb{R}^N $, where $ a:\mathbb{R}^N \rightarrow \mathbb{R} $, $ λ>0 $, $ N \geq 3 $ and $f: \mathbb{R} \rightarrow [0, \infty) $ is continuous function that behaves like $ \exp(α|u|^{\frac{N}{N-1}}) $ at infinity, for $ α>0 $.
This paper is devoted to the study of the following fractional Choquard equation $$ \varepsilon^{2s}(-Δ)^{s} u + V(x)u = \varepsilon^{μ-N}\left(\frac{1}{|x|^μ}*F(u)\right)f(u) \mbox{ in } \mathbb{R}^{N}, $$ where $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter, $s\in (0, 1)$, $N>2s$, $(-Δ)^{s}$ is the fractional Laplacian, $V$ is a positive continuous potential with local minimum, $0<μ<2s$, and $f$ is a superlinear continuous function with subcritical growth. By using the penalization method and the Ljusternik-Schnirelmann theory, we investigate the multiplicity and concentration of positive solutions for the …
We derive the asymptotic decay of the unique positive, radially symmetric solution to the logarithmic Choquard equation $$ - Δu + a u = \frac{1}{2 π} \Bigl[\ln \frac{1}{|x|}* |u|^2 \Bigr] \ u \qquad \text{in $\mathbb{R}^2$} $$ and we establish its nondegeneracy. For the corresponding three-dimensional problem, the nondegeneracy property of the positive ground state to the Choquard equation was proved by E. Lenzmann (Analysis & PDE, 2009).
In the present work we obtain the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for the Choquard logarithmic equation $(-Δ)_{p}^{s}u + |u|^{p-2}u + (\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{p})|u|^{p-2}u = f(u) \textrm{ \ in \ } \mathbb{R}^N $ , where $ N=sp $, $ s\in (0, 1) $, $ p>2 $, $ a>0 $, $ λ>0 $ and $f: \mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R} $ a continuous nonlinearity with exponential critical and subcritical growth. We guarantee the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution under critical and subcritical growth. Morever, when $ f $ has subcritical…

We prove the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution. Also, we provide these results under a symmetric setting, taking into account subgroups of $ O(2) $.
The present work is concerned with the following version of Choquard Logarithmic equations $ -Δ_p u -Δ_N u + a|u|^{p-2}u + b|u|^{N-2}u + λ(\ln|\cdot|\ast G(u))g(u) = f(u) \textrm{ in } \mathbb{R}^N $ , where $ a, b, λ>0 $, $ \max\{\frac{N}{2}, 2 \} < p< N $, $f, g: \mathbb{R} \rightarrow \mathbb{R} $ are continuous functions that behave like $ \exp(α|u|^{\frac{N}{N-1}}) $ at infinity, for $ α>0 $, and that has polynomial growth, respectively, and $ G(s)=\int\limits_{0}^{s}g(τ)dτ$. In the present work we investigate the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for the Choquard Logarithmic equation $(-Δ)^{\frac{1}{2}} u + au + λ(\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{2})u = f(u) \textrm{ in } \mathbb{R}$, for $ a>0 $, $ λ>0 $ and a nonlinearity $f$ with exponential critical growth. We prove the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution under exponential critical and subcritical growth. Morever, when $ f $ has subcritical growth we guarantee the existence of infinitely many solutions, via genus theory.
In this paper we are interested in the existence of semiclassical states for the Choquard type equation $$ -\vr^2Δu +V(x)u =\Big(\int_{\R^N} \frac{G(u(y))}{|x-y|^μ}dy\Big)g(u) \quad \mbox{in $\R^N$}, $$ where $0<μ<N$, $N\geq3$, $\vr$ is a positive parameter and $G$ is the primitive of $g$ which is of critical growth due to the Hardy--Littlewood--Sobolev inequality. The potential function $V(x)$ is assumed to be nonnegative with $V(x)=0$ in some region of $\R^N$, which means it is of the critical frequency case. Firstly we study a Choquard equation with double critical exponents and prove the e…
In this paper, we consider the upper critical Choquard equation with a local perturbation \begin{equation*} \begin{cases} -Δu=λu+(I_α\ast|u|^{p})|u|^{p-2}u+μ|u|^{q-2}u,\ x\in \mathbb{R}^{N},\\ u\in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N),\ \int_{\mathbb{R}^N}|u|^2=a, \end{cases} \end{equation*} where $N\geq 3$, $μ>0$, $a>0$, $λ\in \mathbb{R}$, $α\in (0,N)$, $p=\bar{p}:=\frac{N+α}{N-2}$, $q\in (2,2+\frac{4}{N})$ and $I_α=\frac{C}{|x|^{N-α}}$ with $C>0$. When $μa^{\frac{q(1-γ_q)}{2}}\leq (2K)^{\frac{qγ_q-2\bar{p}}{2(\bar{p}-1)}}$ with $γ_q=\frac{N}{2}-\frac{N}{q}$ and $K$ being some positive constant, we prove (1) Ex…
We study existence and multiplicity of semi-classical states for the nonlinear Choquard equation: $$ -\varepsilon^2Δv+V(x)v = \frac{1}{\varepsilon^α}(I_α*F(v))f(v) \quad \hbox{in}\ \mathbb{R}^N, $$ where $N\geq 3$, $α\in (0,N)$, $I_α(x)={A_α\over |x|^{N-α}}$ is the Riesz potential, $F\in C^1(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})$, $F'(s) = f(s)$ and $\varepsilon>0$ is a small parameter. We develop a new variational approach and we show the existence of a family of solutions concentrating, as $\varepsilon\to 0$, to a local minima of $V(x)$ under general conditions on $F(s)$. Our result is new also for $f(s)=|…
This article deals with the study of the following Kirchhoff equation with exponential nonlinearity of Choquard type (see $(KC)$ below). We use the variational method in the light of Moser-Trudinger inequality to show the existence of weak solutions to $(KC)$. Moreover, analyzing the fibering maps and minimizing the energy functional over suitable subsets of the Nehari manifold, we prove existence and multiplicity of weak solutions to convex-concave problem $(\mathcal{P}_{\la,M})$ below.
In this article, we study the existence/multiplicity results for the following variable order nonlocal Choquard problem with variable exponents (-Δ)_{p(\cdot)}^{s(\cdot)}u(x)&=λ|u(x)|^{α(x)-2}u(x)+ \left(\DD\int_Ω\frac{F(y,u(y))}{|x-y|^{μ(x,y)}}dy\right)f(x,u(x)), x\in Ω, u(x)&=0, x\in \mathbb R^N\setminusΩ, where $Ω\subset\mathbb R^N$ is a smooth and bounded domain, $N\geq 2$, $p,s,μ$ and $α$ are continuous functions on $\mathbb R^N\times\mathbb R^N$ and $f(x,t)$ is Carathédory function. Under suitable assumption on $s,p,μ,α$ and $f(x,t)$, first we study the analogous Hardy-Sobolev-Littlewood…
This article deals with a survey of recent developments and results on Choquard equations where we focus on the existence and multiplicity of solutions of the partial differential equations which involve the nonlinearity of convolution type. Because of its nature, these equations are categorized under the nonlocal problems. We give a brief survey on the work already done in this regard following which we illustrate the problems we have addressed. Seeking the help of variational methods and asymptotic estimates, we prove our main results.
We consider the nonlinear Choquard equation $$\begin{cases} & - Δu = (I_α\ast F(u))F'(u) -μu \ \text{in}\ \mathbb{R}^N, & u \in \ H^1(\mathbb{R}^N), \ \int_{\mathbb{R}^N} |u|^2 dx=m, \end{cases} $$ where $α\in(0,N)$, $m>0$ is prescribed, $μ\in \mathbb{R}$ is a Lagarange multiplier, and $I_α$ is the Riesz potential. Under general assumptions on the nonlinearity $F,$ we prove the existence and multiplicity of normalized solutions.
We consider the stationary magnetic nonlinear Choquard equation \[-(\nabla+iA(x))^2u+ V(x)u=\bigg(\frac{1}{|x|^α}*F(|u|)\bigg)\frac{f(|u|)}{|u|}{u},\] where $A: \mathbb{R}^{N}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}^{N}$ is a vector potential, $V$ is a scalar potential, $f\colon\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}$ and $F$ is the primitive of $f$. Under mild hypotheses, we prove the existence of a ground state solution for this problem. We also prove a simple multiplicity result by applying Ljusternik-Schnirelmann methods.
We consider the following nonlinear Choquard equation with Dirichlet boundary condition $$-Δu =\left(\int_Ω\frac{|u|^{2_μ^{\ast}}}{|x-y|^μ}dy\right)|u|^{2_μ^{\ast}-2}u+λf(u)\hspace{4.14mm}\mbox{in}\hspace{1.14mm} Ω, $$ where $Ω$ is a smooth bounded domain of $\mathbb{R}^N$, $λ>0$, $N\geq3$, $0<μ<N$ and $2_μ^{\ast}$ is the critical exponent in the sense of the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. Under suitable assumptions on different types of nonlinearities $f(u)$, we are able to prove some existence and multiplicity results for the equation by variational methods.
The theory of elliptic equations involving singular nonlinearities is well studied topic but the interaction of singular type nonlinearity with nonlocal nonlinearity in elliptic problems has not been investigated so far. In this article, we study the very singular and doubly nonlocal singular problem $(P_λ)$(See below). Firstly, we establish a very weak comparison principle and the optimal Sobolev regularity. Next using the critical point theory of non-smooth analysis and the geometry of the energy functional, we establish the global multiplicity of positive weak solutions.
In this paper we study the semiclassical limit for the singularly perturbed Choquard equation $$ -\vr^2Δu +V(x)u =\vr^{μ-3}\Big(\int_{\R^3} \frac{Q(y)G(u(y))}{|x-y|^μ}dy\Big)Q(x)g(u) \quad \mbox{in $\R^3$}, $$ where $0<μ<3$, $\vr$ is a positive parameter, $V,Q$ are two continuous real function on $\R^3$ and $G$ is the primitive of $g$ which is of critical growth due to the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. Under suitable assumptions on the nonlinearity $g$, we first establish the existence of ground states for the critical Choquard equation with constant coefficients in $\R^3$. Next we esta…
In this article, we study the Brezis-Nirenberg type problem of nonlinear Choquard equation involving a fractional Laplacian \[ (-\De)^s u = \left( \int_{\Om}\frac{|u|^{2^*_{μ,s}}}{|x-y|^μ}\mathrm{d}y \right)|u|^{2^*_{μ,s}-2}u +\la u \; \text{in } \Om,\] where $\Om $ is a bounded domain in $\mathbb R^n$ with Lipschitz boundary, $\la $ is a real parameter, $s \in (0,1)$, $n >2s$ and $2^*_{μ,s}= (2n-μ)/(n-2s)$ is the critical exponent in the sense of Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. We obtain some existence, multiplicity, regularity and nonexistence results for solution of the above equation …
We consider the $N$-Laplacian Schrödinger equation strongly coupled with higher order fractional Poisson's equations. When the order of the Riesz potential $α$ is equal to the Euclidean dimension $N$, and thus it is a logarithm, the system turns out to be equivalent to a nonlocal Choquard type equation. On the one hand, the natural function space setting in which the Schrödinger energy is well defined is the Sobolev limiting space $W^{1,N}(\mathbb{R}^N)$, where the maximal nonlinear growth is of exponential type. On the other hand, in order to have the nonlocal energy well defined and prove th…

We study asymptotic behaviour of positive ground state solutions of the nonlinear Choquard equation $$ -Δu+\varepsilon u=(I_α\ast |u|^{p})|u|^{p-2}u+ |u|^{q-2}u \quad {\rm in} \ \mathbb R^N, $$ where $N\ge 3$ is an integer, $p\in [\frac{N+α}{N}, \frac{N+α}{N-2}]$, $q\in (2,\frac{2N}{N-2}]$, $I_α$ is the Riesz potential and $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter. We show that as $\varepsilon\to 0$ (resp. $\varepsilon\to \infty$), after a suitable rescaling the ground state solutions of $(P_\varepsilon)$ converge in $H^1(\mathbb R^N)$ to a particular solution of some limit equations. The paper is concerned with the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions of the nonhomogeneous Choquard equation over an annular type bounded domain. Precisely, we consider the following equation \[ -\De u = \left(\int_{\Om}\frac{|u(y)|^{2^*_μ}}{|x-y|^μ}dy\right)|u|^{2^*_μ-2}u+f \; \text{in}\; \Om,\quad u = 0 \; \text{ on } \pa \Om , \] where $\Om$ is a smooth bounded annular domain in $\mathbb{R}^N( N\geq 3)$, $2^*_μ=\frac{2N-μ}{N-2}$, $f \in L^{\infty}(\Om)$ and $f \geq 0$. We study the following Choquard type equation in the whole plane $(C) -Δu+V(x)u=(I_2\ast F(x,u))f(x,u),x\in\mathbb{R}^2$ where $I_2$ is the Newton logarithmic kernel, $V$ is a bounded Schrödinger potential and the nonlinearity $f(x,u)$, whose primitive in $u$ vanishing at zero is $F(x,u)$, exhibits the highest possible growth which is of exponential type. The competition between the logarithmic kernel and the exponential nonlinearity demands for new tools. A proper function space setting is provided by a new weighted version of the Pohozaev--Trudinger inequality which enables us to prove the e…
This paper is devoted to multiplicity results of solutions to nonlocal elliptic equations modeling gravitating systems. By considering the case of Fermi-Dirac statistics as a singular perturbation of Maxwell-Boltzmann one, we are able to produce multiplicity results. Our method is based on cumulated mass densities and a logarithmic change of coordinates that allows us to describe the set of all solutions by a non-autonomous perturbation of an autonomous dynamical system. This has interesting consequences in terms of bifurcation diagrams, which are illustrated by a some numerical computations. …
