If $μ$ is a positive Borel measure on the interval $[0, 1)$ we let $\mathcal H_μ$ be the Hankel matrix $\mathcal H_μ=(μ_{n, k})_{n,k\ge 0}$ with entries $μ_{n, k}=μ_{n+k}$, where, for $n\,=\,0, 1, 2, \dots $, $μ_n$ denotes the moment of order $n$ of $μ$. This matrix induces formally the operator $$\mathcal{H}_μ(f)(z)= \sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\left(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty} μ_{n,k}{a_k}\right)z^n$$ on the space of all analytic functions $f(z)=\sum_{k=0}^\infty a_kz^k$, in the unit disc $\mathbb D $. This is a natural generalization of the classical Hilbert operator. In this paper we improve the results obtained in some recent papers concerning the action of the operators $H_μ$ on Hardy spaces and on Möbius invariant spaces.
We study big Hankel operators acting on vector-valued Fock spaces with radial weights in $\C^d$. We provide complete characterizations for the boundedness, compactness and Schatten class membership of such operators.
We prove the spectral mapping theorem $σ_e(A_ϕ) = ϕ(σ_e(A_z))$ for the Fredholm spectrum of a truncated Toeplitz operator $A_ϕ$ with symbol $ϕ$ in the Sarason algebra $C+H^\infty$ acting on a coinvariant subspace $K_θ$ of the Hardy space $H^2$. Our second result says that a truncated Hankel operator on the subspace $K_θ$ generated by a one-component inner function $θ$ is compact if and only if it has a continuous symbol. We also suppose a description of truncated Toeplitz and Hankel operators in Schatten classes $S^p$.
In this paper, we consider a general subclass of analytic and bi-univalent functions in the open unit disk in the complex plane. Making use of the Chebyshev polynomials, we obtain upper bound estimate for the second Hankel determinant for this function class.
For a bounded Hankel matrix $Γ$, we describe the structure of the Schmidt subspaces of $Γ$, namely the eigenspaces of $Γ^* Γ$ corresponding to non zero eigenvalues. We prove that these subspaces are in correspondence with weighted model spaces in the Hardy space on the unit circle. Here we use the term "weighted model space" to describe the range of an isometric multiplier acting on a model space. Further, we obtain similar results for Hankel operators acting in the Hardy space on the real line. Finally, we give a streamlined proof of the Adamyan-Arov-Krein theorem using the language of weight…
We consider a family of all analytic and univalent functions (i.e., one-to-one) in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}:=\{z\in \mathbb{C}:|z|<1\}$ of the form $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+\cdots$. In this paper, we obtain the sharp bounds of the second Hankel determinant of Logarithmic coefficients for some subclasses of analytic functions.
Let $f$ be analytic in the unit disk $\mathbb D$ and normalized so that $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+\cdots$. In this paper, we give upper bounds of the Hankel determinant of second order for the classes of starlike functions of order $α$, Ozaki close-to-convex functions and two other classes of analytic functions. Some of the estimates are sharp.
Let $f$ be analutic in the unit disk $\mathbb D$ and normalized so that $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+\cdots$. In this paper we give sharp bound of Hankel determinant of the second order for the class of analytic unctions satisfying \[ \left|\arg \left[\left(\frac{z}{f(z)}\right)^{1+α}f'(z) \right] \right|<γ\fracπ{2} \quad\quad (z\in\mathbb D),\] for $0<α<1$ and $0<γ\leq1$.
In this paper, we obtain the upper bounds to the third Hankel determinants for starlike functions of order $α$, convex functions of order $α$ and bounded turning functions of order $α$. Furthermore, several relevant results on a new subclass of close-to-convex harmonic mappings are obtained. Connections of the results presented here to those that can be found in the literature are also discussed.
If $\,μ\,$ is a finite positive Borel measure on the interval $\,[0,1)$, we let $\,\mathcal H_μ\,$ be the Hankel matrix $\,(μ_{n, k})_{n,k\ge 0}\,$ with entries $\,μ_{n, k}=μ_{n+k}$, where, for $\,n\,=\,0, 1, 2, \dots $, $μ_n\,$ denotes the moment of order $\,n\,$ of $\,μ$. This matrix induces formally the operator $\,\mathcal{H}_μ(f)(z)= \sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\left(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty} μ_{n,k}{a_k}\right)z^n\,$ on the space of all analytic functions $\,f(z)=\sum_{k=0}^\infty a_kz^k\,$, in the unit disc $\,\mathbb D $. When $\,μ\,$ is the Lebesgue measure on $\,[0,1)\,$ the operator $\,\mathcal H_…
The estimates for the second Hankel determinant a_2a_4-a_3^2 of analytic function f(z)=z+a_2 z^2+a_3 z^3+...b for which either zf'(z)/f(z) or 1+zf"(z)/f'(z) is subordinate to certain analytic function are investigated. The estimates for the Hankel determinant for two other classes are also obtained. In particular, the estimates for the Hankel determinant of strongly starlike, parabolic starlike, lemniscate starlike functions are obtained.
Let f be analytic in D={z:|z|<1} with f(0)=0 and f'(0)=1. We give sharp bounds for the second Hankel determinant of f, when f is starlike of order alpha in D.
In the present work, we propose to investigate the second Hankel determinant inequalities for certain class of analytic and bi-univalent functions. Some interesting applications of the results presented here are also discussed.
Let $Ω\subset \mathbb{C}^2$ be a bounded pseudoconvex complete Reinhardt domain with a smooth boundary. We study the behavior of analytic structure in the boundary of $Ω$ and obtain a compactness result for Hankel operators on the Bergman space of $Ω$.
In this sequel to the recent work (see Azizi et al., 2015), we investigate a subclass of analytic and bi-univalent functions in the open unit disk. We obtain bounds for initial coefficients, the Fekete-Szegö inequality and the second Hankel determinant inequality for functions belonging to this subclass. We also discuss some new and known special cases, which can be deduced from our results.
Using several complex variables techniques, we investigate the interplay between the geometry of the boundary and compactness of Hankel operators. Let f be a function smooth up to the boundary on a smooth bounded pseudoconvex domain D in C^n. We show that, if D is convex or the Levi form of the boundary of D is of rank at least n-2, then compactness of the Hankel operator H_f implies that f is holomorphic "along" analytic discs in the boundary. Furthermore, when D is convex in C^2 we show that the condition on f is necessary and sufficient for compactness of H_f
Let $1\leq q\leq (n-1)$. We first show that a necessary condition for a Hankel operator on $(0,q-1)$-forms on a convex domain to be compact is that its symbol is holomorphic along $q$-dimensional analytic varieties in the boundary. Because maximal estimates (equivalently, a comparable eigenvalues condition on the Levi form of the boundary) turn out to be favorable for compactness of Hankel operators, this result then implies that on a convex domain, maximal estimates exclude analytic varieties from the boundary, except ones of top dimension $(n-1)$ (and their subvarieties). Some of our techniq…
In this paper we determine the upper bounds of the Hankel determinants of special type $H_{2}(3)(f)$ and $H_{2}(4)(f)$ for the class of univalent functions and for the class $\mathcal{U}$ defined by \[ \mathcal{U}=\left\{ f\in\mathcal{A} : \left|\left[\frac{z}{f(z)}\right]^2 f'(z)-1 \right|<1,\, z\in{\mathbb D} \right\}, \] where $\mathcal{A}$ is the class of functions analytic in the unit disk ${\mathbb D}$ and normalized such that $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+\cdots$.
Let ${\mathcal A}$ be the class of functions that are analytic in the unit disc ${\mathbb D}$, normalized such that $f(z)=z+\sum_{n=2}^\infty a_nz^n$, and let class ${\mathcal U}(λ)$, $0<λ\le1$, consists of functions $f\in{\mathcal A}$, such that \[ \left |\left (\frac{z}{f(z)} \right )^{2}f'(z)-1\right | < λ\quad (z\in {\mathbb D}). \] In this paper we determine the sharp upper bounds for the Hankel determinants of second and third order for the inverse functions of functions from the class ${\mathcal U}(λ)$.
The boundedness of the small Hankel operator $h_f^ν(g)=P_ν(f\bar{g})$, induced by an analytic symbol $f$ and the Bergman projection $P_ν$ associated to $ν$, acting from the weighted Bergman space $A^p_\om$ to $A^q_ν$ is characterized on the full range $0<p,q<\infty$ when $ω,ν$ belong to the class $\mathcal{D}$ of radial weights admitting certain two-sided doubling conditions. Certain results obtained are equivalent to the boundedness of bilinear Hankel forms, which are in turn used to establish the weak factorization $A_η^{q}=A_ω^{p_{1}}\odot A_ν^{p_{2}}$, where $1<q,p_{1},p_{2}<\infty$ such t…
In the present paper, we will discuss the Hankel determinants $H(f) =a_2a_4-a_3^2$ of order 2 for normalized concave functions $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+\dots$ with a pole at $p\in(0,1).$ Here, a meromorphic function is called concave if it maps the unit disk conformally onto a domain whose complement is convex. To this end, we will characterize the coefficient body of order 2 for the class of analytic functions $φ(z)$ on $|z|<1$ with $|φ|<1$ and $φ(p)=p.$ We believe that this is helpful for other extremal problems concerning $a_2, a_3, a_4$ for normalized concave functions with a pole at $p.$
We obtain a sharp norm estimate for Hankel operators with anti-analytic symbol for weighted Bergman spaces. For the classical Bergman space, the estimate improves the corresponding classical Putnam inequality for commutators of Toeplitz operators with analytic symbol by a factor of $1/2$, answering a recent conjecture by Bell, Ferguson and Lundberg. As an application, this yields a new proof of the de St. Venant inequality, which relates the torsional rigidity of a domain with its area.
Let $μ$ be a positive Borel measure on the interval $[0,1)$. The Hankel matrix $\mathcal{H}_μ=(μ_{n,k})_{n,k\geq0}$ with entries $μ_{n,k}=μ_{n+k}$, where $μ_n=\int_{[0,1)}t^{n}dμ(t)$. For $f(z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}a_nz^n$ is an analytic function in $\mathbb{D}$, the Hilbert operator is defined by $$\mathcal{H}_μ(f)(z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\Bigg(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}μ_{n,k}a_k\Bigg)z^n, \quad z\in \mathbb{D}.$$ The Derivative-Hilbert operator is defined as $$\mathcal{DH}_μ(f)(z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\Bigg(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}μ_{n,k}a_k\Bigg)(n+1)z^n, \quad z\in \mathbb{D}.$$ In this paper, we determine…
Let $μ$ be a positive Borel measure on the interval $[0,1)$. For $γ>0$, the Hankel matrix $\mathcal{H}_{μ,γ}=(μ_{n,k})_{n,k\geq0}$ with entries $μ_{n,k}=μ_{n+k}$, where $μ_{n+k}=\int_{0}^{\infty}t^{n+k}dμ(t)$. formally induces the operator $$\mathcal{H}_{μ,γ}=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\left(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}μ_{n,k}a_k\right)\frac{Γ(n+γ)}{n!Γ(γ)}z^n,$$ on the space of all analytic functions $f(z)=\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}{a_k}{z^k}$ in the unit disc $\mathbb{D}$. Following ideas from \cite{author3} and \cite{author4}, in this paper, for $0\leqα<2$, $2\leqβ<4$, $γ\geq1$. we characterize the measure $μ$ for…
Let $μ$ be a positive Borel measure on the interval [0,1). For $α>0$, the Hankel matrix $\mathcal{H}_{μ,α}=(μ_{n,k,α})_{n,k\geq 0}$ with entries $μ_{n,k,α}=\int_{[0,1)}\frac{Γ(n+α)}{n!Γ(α)}t^{n+k}dμ(t)$ formally induces the operator $$\mathcal{H}_{μ,α}(f)(z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\left(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty} μ_{n, k,α} a_{k}\right)z^{n} $$ on the space of all analytic functions $f(z)=\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}a_{k}z^{k}$ in the unit disc $\mathbb{D}$. In this paper, we characterize the measures $μ$ for which $\mathcal{H}_{μ,α}$ ($α\geq 2$) is a bounded (resp., compact) operator from the Bloch type space $\…
Let $Ω$ be a bounded convex Reinhardt domain in $\mathbb{C}^2$ and $ϕ\in C(\barΩ)$. We show that the Hankel operator $H_ϕ$ is compact if and only if $ϕ$ is holomorphic along every non-trivial analytic disc in the boundary of $Ω$.
Let $Ω$ be a bounded convex domain in $\mathbb{C}^{n}$, $n\geq 2$, $1\leq q\leq (n-1)$, and $ϕ\in C(\barΩ)$. If the Hankel operator $H^{q-1}_ϕ$ on $(0,q-1)$--forms with symbol $ϕ$ is compact, then $ϕ$ is holomorphic along $q$--dimensional analytic (actually, affine) varieties in the boundary. We also prove a partial converse: if the boundary contains only `finitely many' varieties, $1\leq q\leq n$, and $ϕ\in C(\barΩ)$ is analytic along the ones of dimension $q$ (or higher), then $H^{q-1}_ϕ$ is compact.
If $μ$ is a positive Borel measure on the interval $[0, 1)$ we let $\mathcal H_μ$ be the Hankel matrix $\mathcal H_μ=(μ_{n, k})_{n,k\ge 0}$ with entries $μ_{n, k}=μ_{n+k}$, where, for $n\,=\,0, 1, 2, \dots $, $μ_n$ denotes the moment of orden $n$ of $μ$. This matrix induces formally the operator $$\mathcal{H}_μ(f)(z)= \sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\left(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty} μ_{n,k}{a_k}\right)z^n$$ on the space of all analytic functions $f(z)=\sum_{k=0}^\infty a_kz^k$, in the unit disc $\D $. This is a natural generalization of the classical Hilbert operator. The action of the operators $H_{μ}$ on Hardy s…
We characterize the Schatten class membership of the canonical solution operator to $\bar\partial$ acting on $L^2(e^{-2ϕ})$, where $ϕ$ is a subharmonic function with $Δϕ$ a doubling measure. The obtained characterization is in terms of $Δϕ$. As part of our approach, we study Hankel operators with anti-analytic symbols acting on the corresponding Fock space of entire functions in $L^2(e^{-2ϕ})$.
In this paper, sharp bounds are established for the second Hankel determinant of logarithmic coefficients for normalised analytic functions satisfying certain differential inequality.
If $μ$ is a positive Borel measure on the interval $[0, 1)$, the Hankel matrix $\mathcal H_μ=(μ_{n,k})_{n,k\ge 0}$ with entries $μ_{n,k}=\int_{[0,1)}t^{n+k}\,dμ(t)$ induces formally the operator $$\mathcal{H}_μ(f)(z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\left(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}μ_{n,k}{a_k}\right)z^n$$ on the space of all analytic functions $f(z)=\sum_{k=0}^\infty a_kz^k$, in the unit disc $\mathbb{D} $. In this paper we describe those measures $μ$ for which $\mathcal{H}_μ$ is a bounded (compact) operator from $H^p$ into $H^q$, $0<p,q<\infty $. We also characterize the measures $μ$ for which $\mathcal H_μ$ lies…
Let $ϕ$ be a normalized convex function defined on open unit disk $\mathbb{D}$. For a unified class of normalized analytic functions which satisfy the second order differential subordination $f'(z)+ αz f''(z) \prec ϕ(z)$ for all $z\in \mathbb{D}$, we investigate the distortion theorem and growth theorem. Further, the bounds on initial logarithmic coefficients, inverse coefficient and the second Hankel determinant involving the inverse coefficients are examined.
We study big Hankel operators $H_f^ν:A^p_ω\to L^q_ν$ generated by radial Bekollé-Bonami weights $ν$, when $1<p\leq q<\infty$. Here the radial weight $ω$ is assumed to satisfy a two-sided doubling condition, and $A^p_ω$ denotes the corresponding weighted Bergman space. A characterization for simultaneous boundedness of $H_f^ν$ and $H_{\overline{f}}^ν$ is provided in terms of a general weighted mean oscillation. Compared to the case of standard weights that was recently obtained by Pau, Zhao and Zhu (Indiana Univ. Math. J. 2016), the respective spaces depend on the weights $ω$ and $ν$ in an esse…
We introduce a class of analytic functions subordinate to the function $1+\sinh \left( z\right) $ and obtain various necessary and sufficient conditions for functions to be in the class. These conditions mainly comprise of the coefficient inequalities involving convolution. Further, we have obtained sharp five initial coefficients, a conjecture for the general nth coefficient and the third Hankel determinant bounds for the functions in this class. Also derived certain differential subordination implication results involving $1+\sinh \left( z\right)$.
This paper examines the coefficient problems for the class of semigroup generators, a topic in complex dynamics that has recently been studied in context of geometric function theory. Further, sharp bounds of coefficient functional such as second order Hankel determinant, third order Toeplitz and Hermitian-Toeplitz determinants are derived. Additionally, the sharp growth estimates and the bounds of difference of successive coefficients are determined, which are used to prove the Bohr and the Bohr-Rogosinski phenomenon for the class of semigroup generators.
We address the question of describing the membership to Schatten-Von Neumann ideals $\mathcal{S}_ p$ of integration operators $(T_ g f)(z)=\int_{0}^{z}f(ζ)\,g'(ζ)\,dζ$ acting on Dirichlet type spaces. We also study this problem for multiplication, Hankel and Toeplitz operators. In particular, we provide an extension of Luecking's result on Toeplitz operators.
This paper explores the regularity properties of an inverse spectral transform for Hilbert--Schmidt Hankel operators on the unit disc. This spectral transform plays the role of action-angles variables for an integrable infinite dimensional Hamiltonian system -- the cubic Szegö equation. We investigate the regularity of functions on the tori supporting the dynamics of this system, in connection with some wave turbulence phenomenon, discovered in a previous work and due to relative small gaps between the actions. We revisit this phenomenon by proving that generic smooth functions and a G $δ$ den…
Let $μ$ be a positive Borel measure on the interval [0,1). The Hankel matrix $\mathcal{H}_μ= (μ_{n,k})_{n,k\geq0}$ with entries $μ_{n,k}= μ_{n+k}$, where $μ_n=\int_{ [0,1)}t^ndμ(t)$, induces formally the operator $$\mathcal{DH}_μ(f)(z)=\sum_{n=0}^\infty (\sum_{k=0}^\infty μ_{n,k}a_k)(n+1)z^n$$ on the space of all analytic function $f(z)=\sum_{k=0}^ \infty a_k z^n$ in the unit disc $\mathbb{D}$. We characterize those positive Borel measures on $[0,1)$ such that $\mathcal{DH}_μ(f)(z)= \int_{[0,1)} \frac{f(t)}{(1-tz)^2} dμ(t)$ for all in Hardy spaces $H^p(0<p<\infty)$, and among them we describe …
In this note, we discuss the preservation of certain analytic properties of the $\overline{\partial}$-Neumann operator, Bergman projection and Hankel operators on the intersection of pseudoconvex domains.
In this paper, we study the behavior of the singular values of Hankel operators on weighted Bergman spaces $A^2_{ω_φ}$, where $ω_φ= e^{-φ}$ and $φ$ is a subharmonic function. We consider compact Hankel operators $H_{\overline ϕ}$, with anti-analytic symbols ${\overline ϕ}$, and give estimates of the trace of $h(|H_{\overline ϕ}|)$ for any convex function $h$. This allows us to give asymptotic estimates of the singular values $(s_n(H_{\overline ϕ}))_n$ in terms of decreasing rearrangement of $|ϕ'|/\sqrt{Δφ}$. For the radial weights, we first prove that the critical decay of $(s_n(H_{\overline ϕ…
We consider the problem of approximation of matrix functions of class $L^p$ on the unit circle by matrix functions analytic in the unit disk in the norm of $L^p$, $2\le p<\be$. For an $m\times n$ matrix function $Φ$ in $L^p$, we consider the Hankel operator $H_Φ:H^q(C^n)\to H^2_-(C^m)$, $1/p+1/q=1/2$. It turns out that the space of $m\times n$ matrix functions in $L^p$ splits into two subclasses: the set of respectable matrix functions and the set of weird matrix functions. If $Φ$ is respectable, then its distance to the set of analytic matrix functions is equal to the norm of $H_Φ$. For weird…
Let ${\mathcal U}^+$ be the class of analytic functions $f$ such that $\frac{z}{f(z)}$ has real and positive coefficients and $f^{-1}$ be its inverse. In this paper we give sharp estimates of the initial coefficients and initial logarithmic coefficients for $f$, as well as, sharp estimates of the second and the third Hankel determinant for $f$ and $f^{-1}$. We also show that the Zalcman conjecture holds for functions $f$ from ${\mathcal U}^+$.
