Let $S$ and $R$ be rings and $_SC_R$ a (faithfully) semidualizing bimodule. We introduce and study $C$-weak flat and $C$-weak injective modules as a generalization of $C$-flat and $C$-injective modules (J. Math. Kyoto Univ. 47(2007), 781-808) respectively, and use them to provide additional information concerning the important Foxby equivalence between the subclasses of the Auslander class $\mathcal{A}_C(R)$ and that of the Bass class $\mathcal{B}_C(S)$. Then we study the stability of Auslander and Bass classes, which enables us to give some alternative characterizations of the modules in $\mathcal{A}_C(R)$ and $\mathcal{B}_C(S)$. Finally we consider an open question which is closely relative to the main results (Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc. 48(2005), 75-90), and discuss the relationship between the Bass class $\mathcal{B}_C(S)$ and the class of Gorenstein injective modules.
In this paper, it is proved that a commutative noetherian local ring admitting a finitely generated module of finite projective and injective dimensions with respect to a semidualizing module is Gorenstein. This result recovers a celebrated theorem of Foxby.
We extend the definition of a semidualizing module to associative rings. This enables us to define and study Auslander and Bass classes with respect to a semidualizing bimodule C. We then study the classes of C-flats, C-projectives, and C-injectives, and use them to provide a characterization of the modules in the Auslander and Bass classes. We extend Foxby equivalence to this new setting. This paper contains a few results which are new in the commutative, noetherian setting.

Let $R$ be a right and left Ore ring, $S$ its set of regular elements and $Q = R[S^{-1}] = [S^{-1}] R$ the classical ring of quotients of $R$. We prove that if F.dim$(Q_Q) = 0$, then the following conditions are equivalent: $(i)$ Flat right $R$-modules are strongly flat. $ (ii)$ Matlis-cotorsion right $R$-modules are Enochs-cotorsion. $(iii) $ $h$-divisible right $R$-modules are weak-injective. $(iv)$ Homomorphic images of weak-injective right $R$-modules are weak-injective. $(v)$ Homomorphic images of injective right $R$-modules are weak-injective. $(vi)$ Right $R$-modules of weak dimension $…
Rickard proved that for certain self-injective algebras, a stable equivalence induced from an exact functor is a stable equivalence of Morita type, in the sense of Broué. In this paper we study singular equivalences of finite dimensional algebras induced from tensor product functors. We prove that for certain Gorenstein algebras, a singular equivalence induced from tensoring with a suitable complex of bimodules, induces a singular equivalence of Morita type with level, in the sense of Wang. This recovers Rickard's theorem in the self-injective case.
Derived equivalences between finite dimensional algebras do, in general, not pass to centraliser (or other) subalgebras, nor do they preserve homological invariants of the algebras, such as global or dominant dimension. We show that, however, they do so for large classes of algebras described in this article. Algebras $A$ of $ν$-dominant dimension at least one have unique largest non-trivial self-injective centraliser subalgebras $H_A$. A derived restriction theorem is proved: A derived equivalence between $A$ and $B$ implies a derived equivalence between $H_A$ and $H_B$. Two methods are devel…
This paper is an exposition of the so-called injective Morita contexts (in which the connecting bimodule morphisms are injective) and Morita $α$contexts (in which the connecting bimodules enjoy some local projectivity in the sense of Zimmermann-Huisgen). Motivated by situations in which only one trace ideal is in action, or the compatibility between the bimodule morphisms is not needed, we introduce the notions of Morita semi-contexts and Morita data, and investigate them. Injective Morita data will be used (with the help of static and adstatic modules) to establish equivalences between some i…
We show that the term equivalence between MV-algebras and MV-semirings lifts to involutive residuated lattices and a class of semirings called \textit{involutive semirings}. The semiring perspective helps us find a necessary and sufficient condition for the interval $[0,1]$ to be a subalgebra of an involutive residuated lattice. We also import some results and techniques of semimodule theory in the study of this class of semirings, generalizing results about injective and projective MV-semimodules. Indeed, we note that the involution plays a crucial role and that the results for MV-semirings a…
We introduce the notion of balanced pair of additive subcategories in an abelian category. We give sufficient conditions under which the balanced pair of subcategories gives rise to equivalent homotopy categories of complexes. As an application, we prove that for a left-Gorenstein ring, there exists a triangle-equivalence between the homotopy category of its Gorenstein projective modules and the homotopy category of its Gorenstein injective modules, which restricts to a triangle-equivalence between the homotopy category of projective modules and the homotopy category of injective modules. In t…
For a positively graded artin algebra $A=\oplus_{n\geq 0}A_n$ we introduce its Beilinson algebra $\mathrm{b}(A)$. We prove that if $A$ is well-graded self-injective, then the category of graded $A$-modules is equivalent to the category of graded modules over the trivial extension algebra $T(\mathrm{b}(A))$. Consequently, there is a full exact embedding from the bounded derived category of $\mathrm{b}(A)$ into the stable category of graded modules over $A$; it is an equivalence if and only if the 0-th component algebra $A_0$ has finite global dimension.
We consider the smallest triangulated subcategory of the unbounded derived module category of a ring that contains the injective modules and is closed under set indexed coproducts. If this subcategory is the entire derived category, then we say that injectives generate for the ring. In particular, we ask whether, if injectives generate for a collection of rings, do injectives generate for related ring constructions and vice versa. We provide sufficient conditions for this statement to hold for various constructions including recollements, ring extensions and module category equivalences.
In this paper, we introduce the notions of ${\rm FP}_n$-injective and ${\rm FP}_n$-flat complexes in terms of complexes of type ${\rm FP}_n$. We show that some characterizations analogous to that of injective, FP-injective and flat complexes exist for ${\rm FP}_n$-injective and ${\rm FP}_n$-flat complexes. We also introduce and study ${\rm FP}_n$-injective and ${\rm FP}_n$-flat dimensions of modules and complexes, and give a relation between them in terms of Pontrjagin duality. The existence of pre-envelopes and covers in this setting is discussed, and we prove that any complex has an ${\rm FP…
In this paper, we give a complete characterization of Leavitt path algebras which are graded $Σ$-$V$ rings, that is, rings over which a direct sum of arbitrary copies of any graded simple module is graded injective. Specifically, we show that a Leavitt path algebra $L$ over an arbitrary graph $E$ is a graded $Σ$-$V$ ring if and only if it is a subdirect product of matrix rings of arbitrary size but with finitely many non-zero entries over $K$ or $K[x,x^{-1}]$ with appropriate matrix gradings. We also obtain a graphical characterization of such a graded $Σ$-$V$ ring $L$% . When the graph $E$ is…
The paper is devoted to a kind of `very non-abelian' spectral categories. Under strong conditions on a category $\mathcal{X}$, we prove, among other things, that, for a given faithful localization $\mathcal{C}\to\mathcal{X}$, we have canonical equivalences $\mathrm{Spec}(\mathcal{C})\sim\mathcal{X}\sim(\mathrm{Category\,\,of\,\,injective\,\,objects\,\,in}\,\, \mathcal{C})$, and that $\mathcal{C}$ has natural injective envelopes.
For a left coherent ring A with every left ideal having a countable set of generators, we show that the coderived category of left A-modules is compactly generated by the bounded derived category of finitely presented left A-modules (reproducing a particular case of a recent result of Stovicek with our methods). Furthermore, we present the definition of a dualizing complex of fp-injective modules over a pair of noncommutative coherent rings A and B, and construct an equivalence between the coderived category of A-modules and the contraderived category of B-modules. Finally, we define the notio…
We prove that given a Grothendieck category G with a tilting object of finite projective dimension, the induced triangle equivalence sends an injective cogenerator of G to a big cotilting module. Moreover, every big cotilting module can be constructed like that in an essentially unique way. We also prove that the triangle equivalence is at the base of an equivalence of derivators, which in turn is induced by a Quillen equivalence with respect to suitable abelian model structures on the corresponding categories of complexes.
The Nakayama conjecture states that an algebra of infinite dominant dimension should be self-injective. Motivated by understanding this conjecture in the context of derived categories, we study dominant dimensions of algebras under derived equivalences induced by tilting modules, specifically, the infinity of dominant dimensions under tilting procedure. We first give a new method to produce derived equivalences from relatively exact sequences, and then establish relationships and lower bounds of dominant dimensions for derived equivalences induced by tilting modules. Particularly, we show that…
In this paper, we first introduce $\mathcal {W}_F$-Gorenstein modules to establish the following Foxby equivalence: $\xymatrix@C=80pt{\mathcal {G}(\mathcal {F})\cap \mathcal {A}_C(R) \ar@<0.5ex>[r]^{C\otimes_R-} & \mathcal {G}(\mathcal {W}_F) \ar@<0.5ex>[l]^{\textrm{Hom}_R(C,-)}} $ where $\mathcal {G}(\mathcal {F})$, $\mathcal {A}_C(R) $ and $\mathcal {G}(\mathcal {W}_F)$ denote the class of Gorenstein flat modules, the Auslander class and the class of $\mathcal {W}_F$-Gorenstein modules respectively. Then, we investigate two-degree $\mathcal {W}_F$-Gorenstein modules. An $R$-module $M$ is sai…
We uncover a connection between the model-theoretic notion of superstability and that of noetherian rings and pure-semisimple rings. We characterize noetherian rings via superstability of the class of left modules with embeddings. $\mathbf{Theorem.}$ For a ring $R$ the following are equivalent. - $R$ is left noetherian. - The class of left $R$-modules with embeddings is superstable. - For every $λ\geq |R| + \aleph_0$, there is $χ\geq λ$ such that the class of left $R$-modules with embeddings has uniqueness of limit models of cardinality $χ$. - Every limit model in the class of left $R$-modules…
A space of pseudoquotients $\mathcal{B}(X,S)$ is defined as equivalence classes of pairs $(x,f)$, where $x$ is an element of a non-empty set $X$, $f$ is an element of $S$, a commutative semigroup of injective maps from $X$ to $X$, and $(x,f) \sim (y,g)$ if $gx=fy$. In this note we consider a generalization of this construction where the assumption of commutativity of $S$ by Ore type conditions. As in the commutative case, $X$ can be identified with a subset of $\mathcal{B}(X,S)$ and $S$ can be extended to a group $G$ of bijections on $\mathcal{B}(X,S)$. We introduce a natural topology on $\mat…
Let $R$ and $S$ be rings and $_Rω_S$ a semidualizing bimodule. We prove that there exists a Morita equivalence between the class of $\infty$-$ω$-cotorsionfree modules and a subclass of the class of $ω$-adstatic modules. Also we establish the relation between the relative homological dimensions of a module $M$ and the corresponding standard homological dimensions of ${\rm Hom}(ω,M)$. By investigating the properties of the Bass injective dimension of modules (resp. complexes), we get some equivalent characterizations of semi-tilting modules (resp. Gorenstein artin algebras). Finally we obtain a …
