Angular momentum and mass-charge inequalities for axisymmetric maximal time-symmetric initial data in Einstein-Maxwell gravity with dark matter sector were derived. The dark matter sector is mimicked by another U(1)-gauge field coupled to the ordinary Maxwell one. We assume that data set with two asymptotically flat regions is given on smooth simply connected manifold. One also pays attention to the area momentum charge inequalities for a closed orientable two-dimensional spacelike surface embedded in the spacetime of the considered theory. It turned out that the addition of dark matter sector influences to the great extent on the growth of the black hole masses. This fact may be responsible for the existence of the recently detected supermassive objects at relatively short time after Big Bang. The inequalities binding the charge of the body (black hole) and its size were also investigated. It turns out that the estimation depends on the coupling constant of the ordinary matter to the dark matter sector.
We study the properties of the loosely trapped surface (LTS) and the dynamically transversely trapping surface (DTTS) in Einstein-Maxwell systems. These concepts of surfaces were proposed by the four of the present authors in order to characterize strong gravity regions. We prove the Penrose-like inequalities for the area of LTSs/DTTSs. Interestingly, although the naively expected upper bound for the area is that of the photon sphere of a Reissner-Nordstroem black hole with the same mass and charge, the obtained inequalities include corrections represented by the energy density or pressure/ten…
We consider spherically symmetric and static charged black holes in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet-Maxwell gravities in general $D\ge 5$ dimensions and study their photon spheres and black hole shadows. We show that they all satisfy the sequence of inequalities recently proposed relating a black hole's horizon, photon sphere, shadow and its mass.
The dynamics of Maxwell-dilaton theory in Minkowski spacetime are studied using fully nonlinear, numerical evolutions. This model represents the flat-space sector of Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton theory which has attracted interest recently because it is a well-posed alternative to general relativity, and it also represents the abelian sector of Yang-Mills-Dilaton. As such, understanding its dynamics may shed light on the dynamics of the respective larger systems. In particular, we study electric, magnetic, and dyonic monopoles as well as the flux tubes studied previously by Gibbons and Wells. Some…
We derive master equations for linear perturbations in Einstein-Maxwell-scalar theory, for any spacetime dimension D and any background with a maximally symmetric n = (D - 2)-dimensional spatial component. This is done by expressing all fluctuations analytically in terms of several master scalars. The resulting master equations are Klein-Gordon equations, with non-derivative couplings given by a potential matrix of size 3, 2 and 1 for the scalar, vector and tensor sectors respectively. Furthermore, these potential matrices turn out to be symmetric, and positivity of the eigenvalues is sufficie…
Recently, no-go theorems for the existence of solitonic solutions in Einstein-Maxwell-scalar (EMS) models have been established in arXiv:1902.07721. Here we discuss how these theorems can be circumvented by a specific class of non-minimal coupling functions between a real, canonical scalar field and the electromagnetic field. When the non-minimal coupling function diverges in a specific way near the location of a point charge, it regularises all physical quantities yielding an everywhere regular, localised lump of energy. Such solutions are possible even in flat spacetime Maxwell-scalar models…
We extend the correspondence between metric-affine Ricci-Based Gravity theories and General Relativity (GR) to the case in which the matter sector is represented by linear and nonlinear electromagnetic fields. This complements previous studies focused on fluids and scalar fields. We establish the general algorithm that relates the matter fields in the GR and RBG frames and consider some applications. In particular, we find that the so-called Eddington-inspired Born-Infeld gravity theory coupled to Maxwell electromagnetism is in direct correspondence with GR coupled to Born-Infeld electromagnet…
The Arnowitt-Deser-Misner formalism is used to derive variations of mass, angular momentum and canonical energy for Einstein-Maxwell {\it dark matter} gravity in which the auxiliary gauge field coupled via kinetic mixing term to the ordinary Maxwell one, which mimics properties of {\it hidden sector}. Inspection of the initial data for the manifold with an interior boundary, having topology of $S^2$, enables us to find the generalised first law of black hole thermodynamics in the aforementioned theory. It has been revealed that the stationary black hole solution being subject to the condition …

$T\overline{T}$-deformed two-dimensional quantum Maxwell theory on the torus is examined, taking into account nonperturbative effects in the deformation parameter $μ$. We study the deformed partition function solving the relevant flow equation at the level of individual flux sectors. Summing exactly the "instanton" series, we obtain a well-defined expression for the partition function at arbitrary $μ$. For $μ>0$, the quantum spectrum of the theory experiences a truncation, the partition function reducing to a sum over a finite set of positive-energy states. For $μ<0$ instead, the appearance of…
Recently, Sorce and Wald have suggested a new version of the gedanken experiments to overspin or overcharge the Kerr-Newman black holes in Einstein-Maxwell gravity. Following their setup, in this paper, we investigate the weak cosmic censorship conjecture (WCCC) in the static Einstein-Born-Infeld black holes for the Einstein gravity coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics. First of all, we derive the first two order perturbation inequalities of the charged collision matter in the Einstein-Born-Infeld gravity based on the Iyer-Wald formalism as well as the null energy conditions of the matter fiel…
This paper is devoted to the study of interactions between stationary electromagnetic sources for the minimal and nonminimal CPT-odd photon sector of the Standard Model Extension (SME), where we search mainly for physical phenomena not present in the Maxwell electrodynamics. First we consider the minimal CPT-odd sector, where the Lorentz violation is caused by the Carroll-Field-Jackiw (CFJ) term, namely $\simε^{μναβ}\left(k_{AF}\right)_μA_νF_{αβ}$, and we treat the Lorentz breaking parameter $\left(k_{AF}\right)^μ$ perturbatively up to second order. We consider effects due to the presence of p…
We elaborate the description of the semi-classical gravity sector of Yang-Mills matrix models on a covariant quantum FLRW background. The basic geometric structure is a frame, which arises from the Poisson structure on an underlying $S^2$ bundle over space-time. The equations of motion for the associated Weitzenböck torsion obtained in arXiv:2002.02742 are rewritten in the form of Yang-Mills-type equations for the frame. An effective action is found which reproduces these equations of motion, which contains an Einstein-Hilbert term coupled to a dilaton, an axion and a Maxwell-type term for the…
We elucidate the mismatch between the $A$-anomaly coefficient and the coefficient of the logarithmic term in the entanglement entropy of a Maxwell field. In contrast to the usual assumptions about the protection of renormalization group charges at the infrared, the logarithmic term is different for a free Maxwell field and a Maxwell field interacting with heavy charges. This is possible because of the presence of superselection sectors in the IR theory. However, the correction due to the coupling with charged vacuum fluctuations, that restores the anomaly coefficient, is independent of the pre…
For field theories in curved spacetime, defining how matter gravitates is part of the theory building process. In this letter, we adopt Bekenstein's multiple geometries approach to allow part of the matter sector to follow the geodesics on a general pseudo-Riemannian geometry, constructed from a tensor and a $U(1)$ gauge field. This procedure allows us to generate a previously unknown corner of vector-tensor theories. In the Jordan frame, apparent high-derivative terms of the vector field are reduced by integrating out an auxiliary variable, at the cost of introducing new matter interactions. …
