In 2014, Wang and Cai established the following harmonic congruence for any odd prime $p$ and positive integer $r$, \begin{equation*}
\sum\limits_{i+j+k=p^{r}\atop{i,j,k\in \mathcal{P}_{p}}}\frac{1}{ijk}\equiv-2p^{r-1}B_{p-3} ~(\bmod ~ p^{r}), \end{equation*} where $\mathcal{P}_{n}$ denote the set of positive integers which are prime to $n$. In this note, we obtain the congruences for distinct odd primes $p,~q$ and positive integers $α,~β$, \begin{equation*}
\sum\limits_{i+j+k=p^αq^β\atop{i,j,k\in\mathcal{P}_{pq}\atop{i\equiv j\equiv k\equiv 1\pmod{2}}}}\frac{1}{ijk}\equiv\frac{7}{8}(2-q)(1-\frac{1}{q^{3}})p^{α-1}q^{β-1}B_{p-3}\pmod{p^α}
\end{equation*} and
\begin{equation*}
\sum\limits_{i+j+k=p^αq^β\atop{i,j,k\in \mathcal{P}_{pq}}}\frac{(-1)^{i}}{ijk}
\equiv
\frac{1}{2}(q-2)(1-\frac{1}{q^{3}})p^{α-1}q^{β-1}B_{p-3}\pmod{p^α}. \end{equation*} Finally, we raise a conjecture that for $n>1$ and odd prime power $p^α||n$, $α\geq1$, \begin{eqnarray}
\nonumber \sum\limits_{i+j+k=n\atop{i,j,k\in\mathcal{P}_{n}}}\frac{(-1)^{i}}{ijk}
\equiv \prod\limits_{q|n\atop{q\neq p}}(1-\frac{2}{q})(1-\frac{1}{q^{3}})\frac{n}{2p}B_{p-3}\pmod{p^α}
\end{eqnarray}
and \begin{eqnarray}
\nonumber \sum\limits_{i+j+k=n\atop{i,j,k\in\mathcal{P}_{n}\atop{i\equiv j\equiv k\equiv 1\pmod{2}}}}\frac{1}{ijk}
\equiv \prod\limits_{q|n\atop{q\neq p}}(1-\frac{2}{q})(1-\frac{1}{q^{3}})(-\frac{7n}{8p})B_{p-3}\pmod{p^α}.
\end{eqnarray}
We find and prove a class of congruences modulo 4 for Andrews' partition with certain ternary quadratic form. We also discuss distribution of $\overline{\mathcal{EO}}(n)$ and further prove that $\overline{\mathcal{EO}}(n)\equiv0\pmod4$ for almost all $n$. This study was inspired by similar congruences modulo 4 in the work by the second author and Garvan.
Recently, Nayaka and Naika (2022) proved several congruences modulo $16$ and $32$ for $t$-colored overpartitions with $t=5,7,11$ and $13$. We extend their list using an algorithmic technique.
In this paper we investigate congruence relationships of particular finite generalized harmonic numbers sums. We suggest more transparent and simpler method to analyse these sums and present several additional results for certain special cases.
For any non-negative integer $n$ and non-zero integer $r$, let $p_r(n)$ denote Ramanujan's general partition function. By employing $q$-identities, we prove some new Ramanujan-type congruences modulo 5 for $p_r(n)$ for $r=-(5λ+1), -(5λ+3), -(5λ+4), -(25λ+1)$, $-(25λ+2)$, and any integer $λ$.
For any positive integers $n$ and $r$, let $p_r(n)$ denotes the number of partitions of $n$ where each part has $r$ distinct colours. Many authors studied the partition function $p_r(n)$ for particular values of $r$. In this paper, we prove some general congruences modulo $5$ and $7$ for the colour partition function $p_r(n)$ by considering some general values of $r$. To prove the congruences we employ some $q$-series identities which is also in the spirit of Ramanujan.
Recently, Chan and Wang (Fractional powers of the generating function for the partition function. Acta Arith. 187(1), 59--80 (2019)) studied the fractional powers of the generating function for the partition function and found several congruences satisfied by the corresponding coefficients. In this paper, we find some new families of congruences modulo powers of primes. We also find analogous results for the coefficients of the fractional powers of the generating function for the 2-color partition function.
Let $NT(m, k, n)$ denote the total number of parts in the partitions of n with rank congruent to m modulo k. Andrews proved Beck's conjecture on congruences for $NT(m, k, n)$ modulo 5 and 7. Generalizing Andrews'results, Chern obtain congruences for $NT(m, k, n)$ modulo 11 and 13. More recently, the second author use the theory of Hecke operators to establish congruences for such partition statistics modulo powers of primes $\ell \ge 7$. In this paper, we obtain Andrews-Beck type congruences modulo powers of 5.
Let $b_{\ell, k}(n), b_{\ell, k, r}(n)$ count the number of $(\ell, k)$, $(\ell, k, r)$-regular partitions respectively. In this paper we shall derive infinite families of congruences for $b_{\ell, k}(n)$ modulo $2$ when $ (\ell, k) = (3,8), (4, 7)$, for $b_{\ell, k}(n)$ modulo $8$, modulo $9$ and modulo $12$ when $(\ell, k) = (4, 9)$ and $b_{\ell, k, r}(n)$ modulo $2$ when $(\ell, k, r) = (3, 5, 8)$.
Let $\overline{p}_{j,k}(n)$ denotes the number of $(j,k)$-regular overpartitions of a positive integer $n$ such that none of the parts is congruent to $j$ modulo $k$. Naika et. al. (2021) proved infinite families of congruences modulo powers of 2 for $\overline{p}_{3,6}(n)$, $\overline{p}_{5,10}(n)$ and $\overline{p}_{9,18}(n)$. In this paper, we obtain infinite families of congruences modulo power of 2 for $\overline{p}_{4,8}(n)$, $\overline{p}_{6,12}(n)$ and $\overline{p}_{8,16}(n)$. For example, we prove that, for all integers $n\geq 0$ and $α\geq 0$, $$ \overline{p}_{4,8}\left( 5^{2α+1}\le…
For each of the $15$ known sporadic Apéry-like sequences, we prove congruences modulo $p^2$ that are natural extensions of the Lucas congruences modulo $p$. This extends a result of Gessel for the numbers used by Apéry in his proof of the irrationality of $ζ(3)$. Moreover, we show that each of these sequences satisfies two-term supercongruences modulo $p^{2r}$. Using special constant term representations recently discovered by Gorodetsky, we prove these supercongruences in the two cases that remained previously open.
We prove several Ramanujan-type congruences modulo powers of $5$ for partition $k$-tuples with $5$-cores, for $k=2, 3, 4$. We also prove some new infinite families of congruences modulo powers of primes for $k$-tuples with $p$-cores, where $p$ is a prime.
A congruence modulo $n^3$ involving two consecutive sums of powers and its applications
对于各种正整数$k$,第一个$k$正整数的$k$次幂的和,$S_k(n+1)=1^k+2^k+...+n^k$,必须是所有数学中最流行的一些和。本文证明了对于每个$k\ge 2 $ $ 2S_{2k+1}(n)- (2k+1)nS_{2k}(n)\equiv \{{array}{ll} 0\,(\bmod{\,n^3}) & {\rm if}\,\,k\,\,{\rm is\,\,even\,\,or}\,\, n\,\, {\rm is\,\, odd} & {\rm or} \,\, n\equiv 0\,(\bmod{\,4}) \frac{n^3}{2}\,(\bmod{\,n^3}) & {\rm if}\,\,k\,\,{\rm is\,\, odd} &,\,{\rm and}\,\, n\equiv 2\,(\bmod{\,4}). {array}.$ $ The above congruence allows us to state an equivalent formulation of Giuga's conjecture. Moreover, we prove that the first above congruence is satisfied modulo $ n ^4 $ whenever $ n \ge 5 $ is a prime number …
There are classical congruences between the class number of an imaginary quadratic field and a Bernoulli number or an Euler number. Under the BSD conjecture, Onishi obtained an elliptic generalization of these congruences, which gives congruences between the order of the Tate-Shafarevich group of certain elliptic curves with CM by the Gauss integers ring and Mordell-Weil rank 0, and a coefficient of power series expansion of an elliptic function associated to Gauss integers ring. In this paper, we provide Onishi's type congruences for the Eisenstein integers case.
We produce congruences modulo a prime $p>3$ for sums $\sum_k\binom{3k}{k}x^k$ over ranges $0\le k<q$ and $0\le k<q/3$, where $q$ is a power of $p$. Here $x$ equals either $c^2/(1-c)^3$, or $4s^2/\bigl(27(s^2-1)\bigr)$, where $c$ and $s$ are indeterminates. In the former case we deal more generally with shifted binomial coefficients $\binom{3k+e}{k}$. Our method derives such congruences directly from closed forms for the corresponding series.
It is well known that Ramanujan conjectured congruences modulo powers of 5, 7 and and 11 for the partition function. These were subsequently proved by Watson (1938) and Atkin (1967). In 2009 Choi, Kang, and Lovejoy proved congruences modulo powers of 5 for the crank parity function. The generating function for rank parity function is f(q), which is the first example of a mock theta function that Ramanujan mentioned in his last letter to Hardy. We prove congruences modulo powers of 5 for the rank parity function.
Recently, Ni and Pan proved a $q$-congruence on certain sums involving central $q$-binomial coefficients, which was conjectured by Guo. In this paper, we give a generalization of this $q$-congruence and confirm another $q$-congruence, also conjectured by Guo. Our proof uses Ni and Pan's technique and a simple $q$-congruence observed by Guo and Schlosser.
