In this article, we assume the $Z_c(4200)$ as the color octet-octet type axial-vector molecule-like state, and construct the color octet-octet type axial-vector current to study its mass and width with the QCD sum rules. The numerical values $M_{Z_c(4200)}=4.19 \pm 0.08\,\rm{GeV}$ and $Γ_{Z_c(4200)}\approx 334\,\rm{MeV}$ are consistent with the experimental data $M_{Z_c(4200)} = 4196^{+31}_{-29}{}^{+17}_{-13} \,\rm{MeV}$ and $Γ_{Z_c(4200)} = 370^{+70}_{-70}{}^{+70}_{-132}\,\rm{MeV}$, and support assigning the $Z_c(4200)$ to be the color octet-octet type molecule-like state with $J^{PC}=1^{+-}$. Furthermore, we discuss the possible assignments of the $Z_c(3900)$, $Z_c(4200)$ and $Z(4430)$ as the diquark-antidiquark type tetraquark states with $J^{PC}=1^{+-}$.
In this article, we assign the $Y(4274)$ to be the color octet-octet type axialvector molecule-like state with $J^{PC}=1^{++}$ tentatively, and construct the color octet-octet type axialvector current to study its mass and width with the QCD sum rules in details. The predicted mass favors assigning the $Y(4274)$ to be the color octet-octet type molecule-like state, but the predicted width disfavors assigning the $Y(4274)$ to be the color octet-octet type molecule-like state strongly. The $Y(4274)$ may be the conventional charmonium state $χ_{c1}(\rm 3P)$, and it is important to observe the dec…
We use QCD sum rules to study the possible existence of a $D_s\bar{D}^*+ D_s^*\bar{D}$ molecule with the quantum number $J^P=1^+$. We consider the contributions of condensates up to dimension eight and work at leading order in $α_s$. We obtain $m_{D_sD^*}=(3.96\pm0.10) \GeV$ around 100 MeV above the mass of the meson X(3872). The proposed state is a natural generalized state to the strangeness sector of the X(3872), which was also found to be consistent with a multiquark state from a previous QCD sum rule analysis.
We consider the thermal correlation functions of vector and axial-vector currents and evaluate corrections to the vector and axial-vector meson pole terms to one loop in chiral perturbation theory. As expected, the pole positions do not shift to leading order in temperature. But the residues decrease with temperature.
In this article, we study the axial-vector tetraquark state and two-quark-tetraquark mixed state consist of light quarks using the QCD sum rules. The present predictions disfavor assigning the $a_1(1420)$ as the axial-vector tetraquark state with $J^{PC}=1^{++}$, while support assigning the $a_1(1420)$ as the axial-vector two-quark-tetraquark mixed state.
The magnetic and quadrupole moments of the vector and axial-vector mesons containing heavy quark are estimated within the light cone sum rules method. Our predictions on magnetic moments for the vector mesons are compared with the results obtained by other approaches.
A review of effective chiral theory of pseudoscalar, vector, and axial vector mesons is presented. 10 coefficients of the ChPT are predicted. A new symmetry breaking-axial-vector symmetry breaking is found and applied to EW theory. The masses of W and Z are dynamically generated and in agreement with data.
The transverse axial vector and vector anomalies in four-dimensional U(1) gauge theories studied in [10] is reexamined by means of perturbative methods. The absence of transverse anomalies for both axial vector and vector current is verified. We also show that the Pauli-Villars regularization and dimensional regularization give the same result on the transverse anomaly of both axial vector and vector current.
We derive the effective action for pseudoscalar mesons by integrating out vector and axial--vector collective fields in the generating functional of the bosonized NJL--model. The corresponding modifications of the nonlinear effective Lagrangian and the bosonized currents, arising at $O(p^4)$, are discussed.
In this article, we perform a systematic study of the mass spectrum of the axial-vector hidden charmed and hidden bottom tetraquark states using the QCD sum rules, and identify the $Z^+(4430)$ as an axial-vector tetraquark state tentatively.
We compute the three-loop corrections to the quark axial vector form factor in massless QCD, focusing on the pure-singlet contributions where the axial vector current couples to a closed quark loop. Employing the Larin prescription for $γ_5$, we discuss the UV renormalization of the form factor. The infrared singularity structure of the resulting singlet axial-vector form factor is explained from infrared factorization, defining a finite remainder function.
The pion electric polarizability, α^E_π^\pm, the leading order hadronic contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment, $a_μ^{hvp 1} $, and the ratio of the difference to the sum of vector and axial-vector correlators, (V-A)/(V+A), are found within the instanton model of QCD vacuum. The results are compared with phenomenological estimates of these quantities following from the ALEPH and OPAL data on vector and axial-vector spectral densities.
We discuss an Nf=3 linear sigma model with vector and axial-vector mesons (extended Linear Sigma Model - eLSM). We present first results regarding the masses of axial-vector mesons determined from the extended model.
The axial strange form factor $F^s_A$ of the nucleon is assumed to be dominated at low momentum transfer by the isoscalar axial vector mesons $f_1(1285)$ and $f_1(1420)$. The importance of the $a_0πN$-triangular vertex correction is demonstrated.
It is shown, that the correlators of vector and axial-vector currents at finite temperature T in order T^2 reduce to mixing of vacuum VV and AA correlators with universal mixing coefficient given by the parameter ε= T^2/6 F^2_π, unlike the claim in the recent paper by Mallik and Sarkar [1].
We compute the three-loop QCD corrections to the massive quark form factors with external vector, axial-vector, scalar and pseudo-scalar currents. All corrections with closed loops of massless fermions are included. The non-fermionic part is computed in the large-$N_c$ limit, where only planar Feynman diagrams contribute.
An updated analysis of vector and axial-vector spectral functions is presented. The resonant contributions to the spectral integrals are shown to be expressible as multiples of 4 pi^2 f_pi^2, encoding the scale of spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking in QCD. Up to order T^2 this behavior carries over to the case of finite temperature.
We evaluate the radiative decay into a pseudoscalar meson and a photon of the whole set of the axial-vector mesons dynamically generated from the vector-pseudoscalar meson ($VP$) interaction. We take into account tree level and loop diagrams coming from the axial-vector decay into a vector and a pseudoscalar meson. We find a large span for the values of the radiative widths of the different axial-vector mesons. In particular, we evaluate the radiative decay into $K γ$ of the two $K_1(1270)$ states, recently claimed theoretically, and discuss the experimental values quoted so far on the assumpt…
Whilst the prospect of new $Z'$ gauge bosons with only axial couplings to the Standard Model (SM) fermions is widely discussed, examples of anomaly-free renormalisable models are lacking in the literature. We look to remedy this by constructing several motivated examples. Specifically, we consider axial vectors which couple universally to all SM fermions, as well as those which are generation-specific, leptophilic, and leptophobic. Anomaly cancellation typically requires the presence of new coloured and charged chiral fermions, and we argue that in a large class of models masses of these new s…
The Lagrangian of pseudoscalar, vector, and axial-vector mesons is determined by the explicit global chiral symmetry and hidden local chiral symmetry. There are fourteen interacting terms up to the dimension-four of covariant derivatives rather than the usual eleven interacting terms given in literature from hidden local symmetry approach. There are only two independent parameters. The three new terms are important in phenomenology.
Each of neutrinos has a non - zero mass and regardless of whether it is a Dirac or a Majorana mass, can possess both anapole and electric dipole moments. Between their form factors appears a connection, for example, at the longitudinal neutrinos scattering on spinless nuclei. We discuss a theory, in which a mass consists of vector and axial - vector components responsible for separateness of leptonic current into the vector and axial - vector parts of the same charge or dipole moment. Such a model can explain the absence of truly neutral neutrinos vector interactions and the availability of an…
We study the features of a SU(2) Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model that includes wave function renormalization and nonlocal vector interactions. Within this framework we analyze, among other properties, the masses, width and decay constants of light vector and axial-vector mesons at finite temperature. Then we obtain the corresponding phase diagram in a finite density scenario, after characterizing the deconfinement and chiral restoration transitions.
To one loop the effective neutrino photon interaction takes place through the vector-vector type and the axialvector-vector type amplitude. In this work we explicitly write down the form of the axialvector-vector amplitude to all orders in the external magnetic field in a medium. We then infer upon its zero external momentum limit which contributes to the effective charge of the neutrinos inside a magnetized medium. We further show its gauge invariance properties.
It is shown that the QCD anomaly may lead to an abnormal mixing behavior of the axial vector mesons similar to the pseudoscalar mesons. These mixing effects, involving a gluonic axial vector state, generate a non-vanishing strange quark component in the nucleon. They reduce the matrix element of the singlet axial vector in comparison to the value obtained in a naive quark model. The results are in agreement with the data obtained in the polarized lepton-nucleon scattering experiments.
The derivation of the 1/N_c expansions for the baryon vector and axial-vector currents, in the SU(3) symmetry limit and including perturbative SU(3) breaking, is reviewed. Symmetry breaking effects in the hyperon semileptonic decay form factors are reanalyzed. Fits to experimental data yield corrections to the leading vector and axial-vector form factors consistent with expectations. The values of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements V_{ud} and V_{us} also extracted from the analysis are comparable to the ones recommended by the Particle Data Group.
We discuss the possible symmetries of the effective lagrangian describing interacting pseudoscalar-, vector-, and axial-vector mesons. Specific choices of the parameters give rise to an $[SU(2)\otimes SU(2)]^3$ symmetry. This symmetry can be obtained either {\it á la} Georgi, with all states in the spectrum remaining massless, or in a new realization, implying decoupling of the pseudoscalar bosons from degenerate vector and axial-vector mesons. This second possibility, when minimally coupled with $SU(2)\otimes U(1)$ electroweak gauge vector bosons, seems particularly appealing. All deviations …
It is shown how the axial vector current of current quarks is related to that of constituent quarks within the framework of the global color symmetry model. Gluon dressing of the axial vector vertex and the quark self-energy functions is described by the inhomogeneous Bethe-Salpeter equation in the ladder approximation and the Schwinger-Dyson equation in the rainbow approximation, respectively.
We have analyzed axial-vector current-current correlation functions between one-nucleon states to calculate the singlet axial-vector coupling constant of the nucleon. The octet-octet and the octet-singlet current correlators, investigated in this work, do not require any use of instanton effects. The QCD and hadronic parameters used for the evaluation of correlators have been varied by (10 - 20)%. The value of the singlet axial-vector coupling constant of the nucleon obtained from this analysis is consistent with its current determination from experiments and QCD theory.
A general expression of the axial-vector current is presented, in which both the effects of the chiral symmetry breaking and the spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking are included. A new resonance formula of the axial-vector meson is derived and in the limit of $q^{2}\rightarrow 0$ this formula doesn't go back to the ``chiral limit``. The studies show that the dominance of the axial-vector meson is associated with the satisfaction of PCAC. The dominance of pion exchange is companied by the strong anomaly of PCAC.
The effects of SU(3) symmetry breaking and configuration mixing have been investigated for the weak vector and axial-vector form factors in the chiral constituent quark model (χCQM) for the strangeness changing as well as strangeness conserving semi-leptonic octet baryon decays in the nonperturbative regime. The results are in good agreement with existing experimental data and also show improvement over other phenomenological models.
The renormalized contribution of fermions to the curvature masses of vector and axial-vector mesons is derived with two different methods at leading order in the loop expansion applied to the (2+1)-flavor constituent quark-meson model. The corresponding contribution to the curvature masses of the scalar and pseudoscalar mesons, already known in the literature, is rederived in a transparent way. The temperature dependence of the curvature mass of various (axial-)vector modes obtained by decomposing the curvature mass tensor is investigated along with the (axial-)vector--(pseudo)scalar mixing. A…
We address the question whether it is possible to interpret the low-lying scalar mesons f0(600) and a0(980) as \bar q - q states within a U(3)xU(3) Linear Sigma Model containing vector and axial-vector degrees of freedom.
Recent advances in the development of a chiral linear $σ$-model with (axial-)vector mesons are presented. The model is based on the basic requirements of global chiral symmetry and dilatation invariance. The role of (axial-)vector states turns out to be crucial both in the meson and the baryon sectors. First results at nonzero temperature and density are discussed.
Using a recently developed three-point formalism within the method of QCD Sum Rules we determine the vacuum susceptibilities needed in the two-point formalism for the coupling of axial, vector, tensor and pseudoscalar currents to hadrons. All susceptibilities are determined by the space-time scale of condensates, which is estimated from data for deep inelastic scattering on nucleons.
We investigate the weak decays of $B_c$ mesons in Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa favored and suppressed modes. We present a detailed analysis of the $B_c$ meson decaying to vector meson (V) and axial-vector meson (A) in the final state. We also give the form factors involving $B_c \to A$ transition in the Isgur-Scora-Grinstein-Wise II framework and consequently, predict the branching ratios of $B_c \to V A$ and $AA$ decays.
We revisit the contribution of axial-vector mesons to the hyperfine splitting of muonic hydrogen. We focus our attention on the doubly-virtual asymptotic behavior of the relevant form factors of axial-vector mesons, together with their coupling to nucleons based on resonance saturation and short-distance constraints. Among others, we find significant differences with respect to previous studies, including an opposite sign and a $\sim50\%$ effect of the doubly-virtual high-energy behavior.
The transverse component of the axial-vector correlation function of quark fields is a natural starting object for lattice calculations of twist-3 nucleon parton distribution functions. In this work we derive the corresponding factorization expression in terms of twist-2 and twist-3 collinear distributions to one-loop accuracy. The results are presented both in position space, as the factorization theorem for Ioffe-time distributions, and in momentum space, for the axial-vector quasi- and pseudodistributions.
We propose a phenomenological Lagrangian for the decay of the SU(3) nonets of the axial-vector mesons of $J^{PC}=1^{+-},1^{++}$ into a vector meson and a pseudoscalar constructed with tensor fields for the vector and axial-vector mesons. The formulation leads to a good reproduction of the different decay branching ratios and assuming vector meson dominance (VMD) it also leads to good results for the radiative decay of the $a_1$ into pion and photon, and in agreement with the structure proposed in the chiral tensor formulation of radiative decay of axial-vector mesons. The two SU(3) parameters …
It is shown that the diagonalization of the axial-vector -- pseudoscalar transitions in the effective meson Lagrangian in presence of electromagnetic interactions leads to a deviation from the vector meson dominance picture which usually arises in the Nambu - Jona-Lasinio model. The essential features of such modification of the theory are studied. Some important examples are considered in detail.
We investigate the chiral structure of local vector and axial-vector tetraquark currents, and study their chiral transformation properties. We consider the charge-conjugation parity and classify all the isovector vector and axial-vector local tetraquark currents of quantum numbers I(G)J(PC)=1(-)1(-+), I(G)J(PC)=1(+)1(--), I(G)J(PC)=1(-)1(++) and I(G)J(PC)=1(+)1(+-). We find that there is a one to one correspondence among them. Using these currents, we perform QCD sum rule analyses. Our results suggest that there is a missing b1 state having I(G)J(PC)=1(+)1(+-) and a mass around 1.47-1.66 GeV.
In this article, we study the light-flavor scalar and axial-vector diquark states in the vacuum and in the nuclear matter using the QCD sum rules in an systematic way, and make reasonable predictions for their masses in the vacuum and in the nuclear matter.
In this work, we use the QCD sum rule method to study the radiative decays of the vector and axial-vector $B_c$ mesons to each of three charmed strange mesons, $D_s$, $D^*_s$ and $D_{s1}$, through their dominant weak annihilation channels. We calculate all relevant transition form factors, which are used to estimate the branching fractions at different channels. The order of branching ratios are obtained to be in the order of $ 10^{-6} - 10^{-5} $, which may be checked via differnet experiments.
Using the most general form of the baryon current, nucleon form factors, induced by isovector and isoscalar axial-vector currents, are studied in the framework of light cone QCD sum rule approach. Comparison of our results on form factors with the existing results and lattice calculations are presented.
In this article, we study the mass spectrum of the scalar and axial-vector heavy diquark states with the QCD sum rules in a systematic way. Once the reasonable values are obtained, we can take them as basic parameters and study the new charmonium-like states as the tetraquark states.
In a nonrelativistic constituent quark model we find a constraint on the mixing angle of the strange axial-vector mesons, $35^o\stackrel{<}{\sim } θ_K\stackrel{<}{\sim }55^o,$ determined solely by two parameters: the mass difference of the $a_1$ and $b_1$ mesons and the ratio of the constituent quark masses.
Basic features of nonstrange vector and axial vector mesons are analyzed in the framework of a chiral quark model that includes nonlocal four fermion couplings. Unknown model parameters are determined from some input values of masses and decay constants, while nonlocal form factors are taken from a fit to lattice QCD results for effective quark propagators. Numerical results show a good agreement with the observed meson phenomenology.
We study mixing between conventional and hybrid mesons in vector and axial vector charmonium using QCD Laplace sum-rules. We compute meson-hybrid cross correlators within the operator product expansion, taking into account condensate contributions up to and including those of dimension-six as well as composite operator renormalization-induced diagrams. Using measured masses of charmonium-like states as input, we probe known resonances for nonzero coupling to both conventional and hybrid meson currents, a signal for meson-hybrid mixing.
We investigate the axial-vector transition constants of the baryon antidecuplet to the octet and decuplet within the framework of the self-consistent SU(3) chiral quark-soliton model. Taking into account rotational 1/N_c and linear m_s corrections and using the symmetry-conserving quantization, we calculate the axial-vector transition constants. It is found that the leading-order contributions are generally almost canceled by the rotational 1/N_c corrections. Thus, the m_s corrections turn out to be essential contributions to the axial-vector constants. The decay width of the Theta^+ to NK tra…
We present in this talk recent results of the vector and axial-vector transitions of the nucleon to the pentaquark baryon Theta^{+}, based on the SU(3) chiral quark-soliton model. The results are summarized as follows: K^{*}-N-Theta vector and tensor coupling constants turn out to be g_{K^{*}N Theta} = 0.81 and f_{K^{*}N Theta}=0.84, respectively, and the KN Theta axial-vector coupling constant to be g_{A}^* = 0.05. As a result, the total decay width for Theta^+ to NK becomes very small: Gamma_{Theta -> NK} = 0.71 MeV, which is consistent with the DIANA result Gamma_{Theta -> NK}=0.36 +- 0.11 …
We perform a calculation of the Sivers function in a spectator model of the nucleon, with scalar and axial-vector diquarks. We make use of gluon rescattering to produce the nontrivial phases necessary to generate the Sivers function. The inclusion of axial-vector diquarks enables us to obtain a nonzero Sivers function for down quarks. Using the results of our model, we discuss the phenomenology of transvere single spin asymmetries in pi+, pi-, and pi0 production, which are currently analysed by the HERMES and COMPASS collaborations. We find that the inclusion of axial-vector diquarks substanti…
The dispersive approach to QCD, which properly embodies the intrinsically nonperturbative constraints originating in the kinematic restrictions on relevant physical processes and extends the applicability range of perturbation theory towards the infrared domain, is briefly overviewed. The study of OPAL (update 2012) and ALEPH (update 2014) experimental data on inclusive tau lepton hadronic decay in vector and axial-vector channels within dispersive approach is presented.
The theoretical and experimental status of the isovector axial-vector current form factors G_A(q^2) and G_P(q^2) of the nucleon is reviewed. We also describe a new calculation of these form factors in manifestly Lorentz-invariant chiral perturbation theory (ChPT) with the inclusion of axial-vector mesons as explicit degrees of freedom.
In this write-up we summarize main results of our recent analyses on the mixing between transverse rho and a1 mesons in hot and/or dense matter. We show that the axial-vector meson contributes significantly to the vector spectral function in hot matter through the mixing. In dense baryonic matter, we include a mixing through a set of omega rho a1 -type interactions. We show that a clear enhancement of the vector spectral function appears below \sqrt{s}=m_ρfor small three-momenta of the rho meson, and thus the vector spectrum exhibits broadening.
We propose a model-independent parametrization for the one-pion-to-vacuum matrix elements of the vector and axial vector hadronic currents in the presence of an external uniform magnetic field. It is shown that, in general, these hadronic matrix elements can be written in terms of several gauge covariant Lorentz structures and form factors. Within this framework we obtain a general expression for the weak decay $π^- \to l\,\barν_l$ and discuss the corresponding limits of strong and weak external magnetic fields.
We present an extension of the string-inspired technique suitable to the calculation of amplitudes and effective Lagrangians involving both vector and axial vector gauge fields. The technique is easily adaptable to problems involving constant external fields. We demonstrate the advantages of the formalism by a calculation of the one-loop vector-axialvector amplitude in a general constant electromagnetic field. The relevance of this calculation for photon-neutrino processes is commented upon. We also clarify the properties of the formalism with respect to the chiral symmetry, and its connection…
A new mathematical framework for the diagonalization of the nondiagonal vector--scalar and axial-vector--pseudoscalar mixing in the effective meson Lagrangian is described. This procedure has unexpected connections with the Hadamard product of $n\times n$ matrices describing the couplings, masses, and fields involved. The approach is shown to be much more efficient as compared with the standard methods employed previously. The difference is especially noticeable if the chiral symmetry is broken explicitly. The paper ends with an illustrative application to the chiral model with broken $SU(3)_L…
The self-consistent chiral soliton of the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model including the $ω,ρ$ and $a_1$ (axial-) vector meson fields besides the chiral angle is investigated. The resulting energy spectrum of the one particle Dirac Hamiltonian is strongly distorted leading to a polarized Dirac sea which carries the complete baryon number. This supports Witten's conjecture that baryons can be described as topological solitons. The exploration of the isoscalar mean squared radius of the nucleon exhibits that the repulsive character of the isoscalar vector field $ω$ as well as the attractive features of…
The dispersive approach to QCD, which extends the applicability range of perturbation theory towards the infrared domain, is developed. This approach properly accounts for the intrinsically nonperturbative constraints, which originate in the low-energy kinematic restrictions on pertinent strong interaction processes. The dispersive approach proves to be capable of describing OPAL (update 2012) and ALEPH (update 2014) experimental data on inclusive tau lepton hadronic decay in vector and axial-vector channels in a self-consistent way.
The extended linear sigma model describes the vacuum phenomenology of scalar, pseudoscalar, vector and axial-vector mesons at energies \(\simeq 1\text{ GeV}\). We combine the chiral \(U(2)_L\times U(2)_R\) symmetry of this model with a local \(SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y\) symmetry and obtain a gauge invariant effective description for electroweak interaction of hadrons in the vacuum. Vector and axial-vector spectral functions can be described well by two intermediate resonances \(ρ\) and \(a_1\). They are implemented into this model as chiral partners and yield the predominant contributions to both …
