This paper deals with the investigation of the computational solutions of an unified fractional reaction-diffusion equation, which is obtained from the standard diffusion equation by replacing the time derivative of first order by the generalized Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative defined in Hilfer et al. , and the space derivative of second order by the Riesz-Feller fractional derivative, and adding a function $ϕ(x,t)$. The solution is derived by the application of the Laplace and Fourier transforms in a compact and closed form in terms of Mittag-Leffler functions. The main result obtained in this paper provides an elegant extension of the fundamental solution for the space-time fractional diffusion equation obtained earlier by Mainardi et al., and the result very recently given by Tomovski et al.. At the end, extensions of the derived results, associated with a finite number of Riesz-Feller space fractional derivatives, are also investigated.
The Liouville equation, first Bogoliubov hierarchy and Vlasov equations with derivatives of non-integer order are derived. Liouville equation with fractional derivatives is obtained from the conservation of probability in a fractional volume element. This equation is used to obtain Bogoliubov hierarchy and fractional kinetic equations with fractional derivatives. Statistical mechanics of fractional generalization of the Hamiltonian systems is discussed. Fractional kinetic equation for the system of charged particles are considered.
On a series of examples from the field of viscoelasticity we demonstrate that it is possible to attribute physical meaning to initial conditions expressed in terms of Riemann-Liouville fractional derivatives, and that it is possible to obtain initial values for such initial conditions by appropriate measurements or observations.
The link between the treatments of constrained systems with fractional derivatives by using both Hamiltonian and Lagrangian formulations is studied. It is shown that both treatments for systems with linear velocities are equivalent.
We study the gluing theory of Riemann surfaces using formal algebraic geometry, and give computable relations between the associated parameters for different gluing processes. As its application to the Liouville conformal field theory, we construct the sheaf of tempered conformal blocks on the moduli space of pointed Riemann surfaces which satisfies the factorization property and has a natural action of the Teichmüller groupoid.
The objective of this paper is to derive analytical solutions of fractional order Laplace, Poisson and Helmholtz equations in two variables derived from the corresponding standard equations in two dimensions by replacing the integer order partial derivatives with fractional Riesz-Feller derivative and generalized Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative recently defined by Hilfer. The Fourier-Laplace transform method is employed to obtain the solutions in terms of Mittag-Leffler functions, Fox $H$-function and an integral operator containing a Mittag-Leffler function in the kernel. The Riemann-Liouville fractional integrals and derivatives are generalized for cases when fractional exponent $d$ are functions of space and times coordinates (i.e. $d=d({\bf r}(t),t)$).
This paper is in continuation of the authors' recently published paper (Journal of Mathematical Physics 55(2014)083519) in which computational solutions of an unified reaction-diffusion equation of distributed order associated with Caputo derivatives as the time-derivative and Riesz-Feller derivative as space derivative is derived. In the present paper, computable solutions of distributed order fractional reaction-diffusion equations associated with generalized Riemann-Liouville derivatives of fractional orders as the time-derivative and Riesz-Feller fractional derivative as the space derivati…
In this paper we propose a lattice analog of phase-space fractional Liouville equation. The Liouville equation for phase-space lattice with long-range jumps of power-law types is suggested. We prove that the continuum limit transforms this lattice equation into Liouville equation with conjugate Riesz fractional derivatives of non-integer orders with respect to coordinates of continuum phase-space. An application of the fractional Liouville equation with these Riesz fractional derivatives to describe properties of plasma-like nonlocal media is considered.
In this paper, we formulate a regular $q$-fractional Sturm--Liouville problem (qFSLP) which includes the left-sided Riemann--Liouville and the right-sided Caputo $q$-fractional derivatives of the same order $α$, $α\in (0,1)$. We introduce the essential $q$-fractional variational analysis needed in proving the existence of a countable set of real eigenvalues and associated orthogonal eigenfunctions for the regular qFSLP when $α>1/2$ associated with the boundary condition $y(0)=y(a)=0$. A criteria for the first eigenvalue is proved. Examples are included. These results are a generalization of th…
We study the existence of positive solution for the one dimensional Schrödinger equation with mixed Lioville-Weyl fractional derivatives \begin{eqnarray*}\label{Eq00} _{t}D_{\infty}^α({_{-\infty}}D_{t}^αu(t)) + V(t) u(t) = & f(u(t)),\;\;t\in \mathbb{R}\\ u\in H^α(\mathbb{R}).\nonumber \end{eqnarray*} Furthermore, we analyse radial symmetry property of these solutions. The proof is carried out by using variational methods jointly with comparison and rearrangement argument.
In this paper, we formulate a regular $q$-fractional Sturm--Liouville problem (qFSLP) which includes the left-sided Riemann--Liouville and the right-sided Caputo q-fractional derivatives of the same order $α$, $α\in (0,1)$. The properties of the eigenvalues and the eigenfunctions are investigated. A $q$-fractional version of the Wronskian is defined and its relation to the simplicity of the eigenfunctions is verified. We use the fixed point theorem to introduce a sufficient condition on eigenvalues for the existence and uniqueness of the associated eigenfunctions when $α>1/2$. These results ar…
Lagrangians linear in velocities were analyzed using the fractional calculus and the Euler-Lagrange equations were derived. Two examples were investigated in details, the explicit solutions of Euler-Lagrange equations were obtained and the recovery of the classical results was discussed.
We consider the fractional generalizations of Liouville equation. The normalization condition, phase volume, and average values are generalized for fractional case. The interpretation of fractional analog of phase space as a space with fractal dimension and as a space with fractional measure are discussed. The fractional analogs of the Hamiltonian systems are considered as a special class of non-Hamiltonian systems. The fractional generalization of the reduced distribution functions are suggested. The fractional analogs of the BBGKI equations are derived from the fractional Liouville equation.
In this paper, we rigorously construct $2d$ Liouville Quantum Field Theory on the Riemann sphere introduced in the 1981 seminal work by Polyakov "Quantum Geometry of bosonic strings". We also establish some of its fundamental properties like conformal covariance under PSL$_2(\mathbb{C})$-action, Seiberg bounds, KPZ scaling laws, KPZ formula and the Weyl anomaly (Polyakov-Ray-Singer) formula for Liouville Quantum Gravity.
We derive Euler-Lagrange type equations for fractional action-like integrals of the calculus of variations which depend on the Riemann-Liouville derivatives of order $(α,β)$, $α> 0$, $β> 0$, recently introduced by J. Cresson and S. Darses. Some interesting consequences are obtained and discussed.
In this note, we give a unified rigorous construction for the Liouville conformal field theory on compact Riemann surface with boundaries for $γ\in (0,2]$ and prove a certain type of Markov property. We also prove some fusion-type estimates in the Boundary LCFT. This note will serve as a reference for a program leading to the conformal bootstrap for the Riemann surface with boundaries and several related projects.
This paper provides the existence and representation of solution to an initial value problem for the general multi-term linear fractional differential equation with generalized Riemann-Liouville fractional derivatives and constant coefficients by using operational calculus of Mikusinski's type. We prove that the initial value problem has the solution of if and only if some initial values should be zero.
We consider dynamical systems that are described by fractional power of coordinates and momenta. The fractional powers can be considered as a convenient way to describe systems in the fractional dimension space. For the usual space the fractional systems are non-Hamiltonian. Generalized transport equation is derived from Liouville and Bogoliubov equations for fractional systems. Fractional generalization of average values and reduced distribution functions are defined. Hydrodynamic equations for fractional systems are derived from the generalized transport equation.
A microscopic model in the framework of fractional kinetics to describe spatial dispersion of power-law type is suggested. The Liouville equation with the Caputo fractional derivatives is used to obtain the power-law dependence of the absolute permittivity on the wave vector. The fractional differential equations for electrostatic potential in the media with power-law spatial dispersion are derived. The particular solutions of these equations for the electric potential of point charge in this media are considered.
The existence of solutions to Cauchy type problems of linear Riemann-Liouville fractional differential equations with variable coefficients is considered in a space of integrable functions. First, we consider the existence and uniqueness of solution for a Cauchy type problem with special initial conditions in the space of integrable functions. Then we provide an example of the problem that has no solution in the space of integrable functions. We give a solving method and a representation of solutions for the Cauchy type problem. Last we give some examples.
The quantum analogs of the derivatives with respect to coordinates q_k and momenta p_k are commutators with operators P_k and $Q_k. We consider quantum analogs of fractional Riemann-Liouville and Liouville derivatives. To obtain the quantum analogs of fractional Riemann-Liouville derivatives, which are defined on a finite interval of the real axis, we use a representation of these derivatives for analytic functions. To define a quantum analog of the fractional Liouville derivative, which is defined on the real axis, we can use the representation of the Weyl quantization by the Fourier transfor…
In this paper fractional generalization of Liouville equation is considered. We derive fractional analog of normalization condition for distribution function. Fractional generalization of the Liouvile equation for dissipative and Hamiltonian systems was derived from the fractional normalization condition. This condition is considered considered as a normalization condition for systems in fractional phase space. The interpretation of the fractional space is discussed.
We prove Liouville theorems for Dirac-harmonic maps from the Euclidean space $\R^n$, the hyperbolic space $\H^n$ and a Riemannian manifold $\mathfrak{S^n}$ ($n\geq 3$) with the Schwarzschild metric to any Riemannian manifold $N$.
We derive the conformal Ward identities for the correlation functions of the Stress--Energy tensor in probabilistic Liouville Conformal Field Theory on compact Riemann surfaces by varying the correlation functions with respect to the background metric. The conformal Ward identities show that the correlation functions of the Stress--Energy tensor can be expressed as a differential operator with meromorphic coefficient acting on the correlation functions of the primary fields of Liouville Conformal Field Theory. Variations of the metric come in three different forms: reparametrizations, conforma…
We study semiclassical correlation functions in Liouville field theory on a two-sphere when all operators have large conformal dimensions. In the usual approach, such computation involves solving the classical Liouville equation, which is known to be extremely difficult for higher-point functions. To overcome this difficulty, we propose a new method based on the Riemann-Hilbert analysis, which is applied recently to the holographic calculation of correlation functions in AdS/CFT. The method allows us to directly compute the correlation functions without solving the Liouville equation explicitl…
In the realm of complexity, it is argued that adequate modeling of TeV-physics demands an approach based on fractal operators and fractional calculus (FC). Non-local theories and memory effects are connected to complexity and the FC. The non-differentiable nature of the microscopic dynamics may be connected with time scales. Based on the Modified Riemann-Liouville definition of fractional derivatives, we have worked out explicit solutions to a fractional wave equation with suitable initial conditions to carefully understand the time evolution of classical fields with a fractional dynamics.
