In this paper we discuss different properties of noncommutative schemes over a field. We define a noncommutative scheme as a differential graded category of a special type. We study regularity, smoothness and properness for noncommutative schemes. Admissible subcategories of categories of perfect complexes on smooth projective schemes provide natural examples of smooth and proper noncommutative schemes that are called geometric noncommutative schemes. In this paper we show that the world of all geometric noncommutative schemes is closed under an operation of a gluing of differential graded categories via bimodules. As a consequence of the main theorem we obtain that for any finite dimensional algebra with separable semisimple part the category of perfect complexes over it is equivalent to a full subcategory of the category of perfect complexes on a smooth projective scheme. Moreover, if the algebra has finite global dimension, then the full subcategory is admissible. We also provide a construction of a smooth projective scheme that admits a full exceptional collection and contains as a subcollection an exceptional collection given in advance. As another application of the main theorem we obtain, in characteristic 0, an existence of a full embedding for the category of perfect complexes on any proper scheme to the category of perfect complexes on a smooth projective scheme.

We develop a point-free approach for constructing the Nakano-Vashaw-Yakimov-Balmer spectrum of a noncommutative tensor triangulated category under some mild assumptions. In particular, we provide a conceptual way of classifying radical thick tensor ideals of a noncommutative tensor triangulated category using frame theoretic methods, recovering the universal support data in the process. We further show that there is a homeomorphism between the spectral space of radical thick tensor ideals of a noncommutative tensor triangulated category and the collection of open subsets of its spectrum in the…
We introduce preordered semi-orthogonal decompositions (psod-s) of dg-categories. We show that homotopy limits of dg-categories equipped with compatible psod-s carry a natural psod. This gives a way to glue semi-orthogonal decompositions along faithfully-flat covers, extending some results of [4]. As applications we will construct semi-orthogonal decompositions for root stacks of log pairs (X,D) where D is a (not necessarily simple) normal crossing divisors, generalizing results from [17] and [3]. Further we will compute the Kummer flat K-theory of general log pairs (X,D), generalizing earlier…
We show that Braun-Chuang-Lazarev's derived quotient prorepresents a naturally defined noncommutative derived deformation functor. Given a noncommutative partial resolution of a Gorenstein algebra, we show that the associated derived quotient controls part of its dg singularity category. We use a recent result of Hua and Keller to prove a recovery theorem, which can be thought of as providing a solution to a derived enhancement of a conjecture made by Donovan and Wemyss about the birational geometry of threefold flops.
The main purpose of this paper is to describe various phenomena and certain constructions arising in the process of studying derived noncommutative schemes. Derived noncommutative schemes are defined as differential graded categories of a special type. We review and discuss different properties of both noncommutative schemes and morphisms between them. In addition, the concept of geometric realization for derived noncommutative scheme is introduced and problems of existence and construction of such realizations are discussed. We also study the construction of gluing noncommutative schemes via …
We construct Knörrer type equivalences outside of the hypersurface case, namely, between singularity categories of cyclic quotient surface singularities and certain finite dimensional local algebras. This generalises Knörrer's equivalence for singularities of Dynkin type A (between Krull dimensions $2$ and $0$) and yields many new equivalences between singularity categories of finite dimensional algebras. Our construction uses noncommutative resolutions of singularities, relative singularity categories, and an idea of Hille & Ploog yielding strongly quasi-hereditary algebras which we describe …
We develop a general theory which enables the computation of the Picard group of a symmetric monoidal triangulated category, equipped with a weight structure, in terms of the Picard group of the associated heart. As an application, we compute the Picard group of several categories of motivic nature - mixed Artin motives, mixed Artin-Tate motives, motivic spectra, noncommutative mixed Artin motives, noncommutative mixed motives of central simple algebras, noncommutative mixed motives of separable algebras - as well as the Picard group of the derived categories of symmetric ring spectra.
A noncommutative deformation of a quadric surface is usually described by a three-dimensional cubic Artin-Schelter regular algebra. In this paper we show that for such an algebra its bounded derived category embeds into the bounded derived category of a commutative deformation of the Hilbert scheme of two points on the quadric. This is the second example in support of a conjecture by Orlov. Based on this example, we formulate an infinitesimal version of the conjecture, and provide some evidence in the case of smooth projective surfaces.
In this article, following an insight of Kontsevich, we extend the famous Weil conjecture (as well as the strong form of the Tate conjecture) from the realm of algebraic geometry to the broad noncommutative setting of dg categories. As a first application, we prove the noncommutative Weil conjecture (and the noncommutative strong form of the Tate conjecture) in the following cases: twisted schemes, Calabi-Yau dg categories associated to hypersurfaces, noncommutative gluings of schemes, root stacks, (twisted) global orbifolds, connective dg algebras, and finite-dimensional dg algebras. As a sec…
We give a noncommutative geometric description of the internal Hom dg-category in the homotopy category of dg-categories between two noncommutative projective schemes in the style of Artin-Zhang. As an immediate application, we give a noncommutative projective derived Morita statement along lines of Rickard and Orlov.
The paper provides a version of the rational Hodge conjecture for $\3\dg$ categories. The noncommutative Hodge conjecture is equivalent to the version proposed in \cite{perry2020integral} for admissible subcategories. We obtain examples of evidence of the Hodge conjecture by techniques of noncommutative geometry. Finally, we show that the noncommutative Hodge conjecture for smooth proper connective $\3\dg$ algebras is true.
We show that pairs $(X,Y)$ of 1-spherical objects in $A_\infty$-categories, such that the morphism space ${\rm Hom}(X,Y)$ is concentrated in degree 0, can be described by certain noncommutative orders over (possibly stacky) curves. In fact, we establish a more precise correspondence at the level of isomorphism of moduli spaces which we show to be affine schemes of finite type over ${\Bbb Z}$.
We explore the connection between $K3$ categories and 0-cycles on holomorphic symplectic varieties. In this paper, we focus on Kuznetsov's noncommutative $K3$ category associated to a nonsingular cubic 4-fold. By introducing a filtration on the $\mathrm{CH}_1$-group of a cubic 4-fold $Y$, we conjecture a sheaf/cycle correspondence for the associated $K3$ category $\mathcal{A}_Y$. This is a noncommutative analog of O'Grady's conjecture concerning derived categories of $K3$ surfaces. We study instances of our conjecture involving rational curves in cubic 4-folds, and verify the conjecture for sh…
Given a complex reductive group G, Borel subgroup B, and topological surface S with boundary dS, we study the "Betti spectral category" DCoh_N(Loc_G(S, dS)) of coherent sheaves with nilpotent singular support on the character stack of G-local systems on S with B-reductions along dS. Modifications along the components of dS endow this category with commuting actions of the affine Hecke category H_G in its realization as coherent sheaves on the Steinberg stack. We prove a "spectral Verlinde formula" identifying the result of gluing two boundary components with the Hochschild homology of the corr…
A noncommutative Grassmannian NGr(m, n) is introduced by Efimov, Luntz, and Orlov in `Deformation theory of objects in homotopy and derived categories III: Abelian categories' as a noncommutative algebra associated to an exceptional collection of n-m+1 coherent sheaves on P^n. It is a graded Calabi--Yau Z-algebra of dimension n-m+1. We show that this algebra is coherent provided that the codimension d = n-m of the Grassmannian is two. According to op. cit., this gives a t-structure on the derived category of the coherent sheaves on the noncommutative Grassmannian. The proof is quite different …
This dissertation comprises three collections of results, all united by a common theme. The theme is the study of categories via algebraic techniques, considering categories themselves as algebraic objects. This algebraic approach to category theory is central to noncommutative algebraic geometry, as realized by recent advances in the study of noncommutative motives. We have success proving algebraic results in the general setting of symmetric monoidal and semiring $\infty$-categories, which categorify abelian groups and rings, respectively. For example, we prove that modules over the semiring…
We show that equivariant tilting modules over equivariant algebras induce equivalences of derived factorization categories. As an application, we show that the derived category of a noncommutative resolution of a linear section of a Pfaffian variety is equivalent to the derived factorization category of a noncommutative gauged Landau-Ginzburg model $(Λ,χ, w)^{\mathbb{G}_m}$, where $Λ$ is a noncommutative resolution of the quotient singularity $W/\operatorname{GSp}(Q)$ arising from a certain representation $W$ of the symplectic similitude group $\operatorname{GSp}(Q)$ of a symplectic vector spa…
The category of (abstract) fans is to the category of monoids what the category of schemes is to the category of rings: a fan is obtained by gluing spectra of monoids along open embeddings. Here we study the basic algebraic geometry of fans: coherent sheaves, group fans, affine maps, flat maps, proper maps, and so forth. This study is motivated by the fact that the category of fans lies over all other reasonably geometric categories (schemes, differentiable spaces, analytic spaces, etc) as well as the "log" versions of all such categories.
In this article, we propose noncommutative versions of Tate conjecture and Hodge conjecture. If we consider these conjectures for a dg-category of perfect complexes over a certain schemes $X$, then they are equivalent to the classical Tate and Hodge conjectures for $X$ respectively. We also propose a strategy of how to prove these conjectures by utilizing a version of motivic Bass conjecture.
It is shown that there is a useful notion of a relative Bridgeland stability condition on the partially wrapped Fukaya category of a marked surface, relative to some part of the surface's boundary. This construction has nice functorial properties, obeying cutting and gluing relations. This reduces the calculation of stability conditions on the Fukaya category of any fully stopped surface into three types of base cases. Calculations of these cases shows that every Bridgeland stability condition on such categories can be described by flat surfaces. In other words, the map constructed by Haiden-K…
