We discuss gluing of objects and gluing of morphisms in tensor triangulated categories. We illustrate the results by producing, among other things, a Mayer-Vietoris exact sequence involving Picard groups.
We examine the concept of field in tensor-triangular geometry. We gather examples and discuss possible approaches, while highlighting open problems. As the construction of residue tt-fields remains elusive, we instead produce suitable homological tensor-functors to Grothendieck categories.
We compare the homological support and tensor triangular support for `big' objects in a rigidly-compactly generated tensor triangulated category. We prove that the comparison map from the homological spectrum to the tensor triangular spectrum is a bijection and that the two notions of support coincide whenever the category is stratified, extending work of Balmer. Moreover, we clarify the relations between salient properties of support functions and exhibit counter-examples highlighting the differences between homological and tensor triangular support.
These notes attempt to give a short survey of the approach to support theory and the study of lattices of triangulated subcategories through the machinery of tensor triangular geometry. One main aim is to introduce the material necessary to state and prove the local-to-global principle. In particular, we discuss Balmer's construction of the spectrum, generalised Rickard idempotents and support for compactly generated triangulated categories, and actions of tensor triangulated categories. Several examples are also given along the way. These notes are based on a series of lectures given during t…

We develop a theory of cosupport and costratification in tensor triangular geometry. We study the geometric relationship between support and cosupport, provide a conceptual foundation for cosupport as categorically dual to support, and discover surprising relations between the theory of costratification and the theory of stratification. We prove that many categories in algebra, topology and geometry are costratified by developing and applying descent techniques. An overarching theme is that cosupport is relevant for diverse questions in tensor triangular geometry and that a full understanding …
We recall P. Balmer's definition of tensor triangular Chow group for a tensor triangulated category $\mathcal{K}$ and explore some of its properties. We give a proof that for a suitably nice scheme $X$ it recovers the usual notion of Chow group from algebraic geometry when we put $\mathcal{K} = \mathrm{D^{perf}}(X)$. Furthermore, we identify a class of functors for which tensor triangular Chow groups behave functorially and show that (for suitably nice schemes) proper push-forward and flat pull-back of algebraic cycles can be interpreted as being induced by the derived inverse and direct image…
We apply the machinery of relative tensor triangular Chow groups to the action of the derived category of quasi-coherent sheaves on a noetherian scheme $X$ on the derived category of quasi-coherent $\mathcal{A}$-modules, where $\mathcal{A}$ is a (not necessarily commutative) quasi-coherent $\mathcal{O}_X$-algebra. When $\mathcal{A}$ is commutative and coherent, we recover the tensor triangular Chow groups of the relative Spec of $\mathcal{A}$. We also obtain concrete descriptions for integral group algebras and hereditary orders over curves, and we investigate the relation of these invariants …
We extend the scope of Balmer's tensor triangular Chow groups to compactly generated triangulated categories $\mathcal{K}$ that only admit an action by a compactly-rigidly generated tensor triangulated category $\mathcal{T}$ as opposed to having a compatible monoidal structure themselves. The additional flexibility allows us to recover the Chow groups of a possibly singular algebraic variety $X$ from the homotopy category of quasi-coherent injective sheaves on $X$. We are also able to construct localization sequences associated to restricting to an open subset of $\mathrm{Spc}(\mathcal{T}^c)$,…
We initiate the theory of graded commutative 2-rings, a categorification of graded commutative rings. The goal is to provide a systematic generalization of Paul Balmer's comparison maps between the spectrum of tensor-triangulated categories and the Zariski spectra of their central rings. By applying our constructions, we compute the spectrum of the derived category of perfect complexes over any graded commutative ring, and we associate to every scheme with an ample family of line bundles an embedding into the spectrum of an associated graded commutative 2-ring.
We show that under favorable circumstances, one can construct an intersection product on the Chow groups of a tensor triangulated category $\mathcal{T}$ (as defined by Balmer) which generalizes the usual intersection product on a non-singular algebraic variety. Our construction depends on the choice of an algebraic model for $\mathcal{T}$ (a tensor Frobenius pair), which has to satisfy a $\mathrm{K}$-theoretic regularity condition analogous to the Gersten conjecture from algebraic geometry. In this situation, we are able to prove an analogue of the Bloch formula and use it to define an interse…
In this article we initiate the study of the tensor triangular geometry of the categories Mot(k)_a and Mot(k)_l of non-commutative motives (over a base ring k). Since the full computation of the spectrum of Mot(k)_a and Mot(k)_l seems completely out of reach, we provide some information about the spectrum of certain subcategories. More precisely, we show that when k is a finite field (or its algebraic closure) the spectrum of the monogenic cores Core(k)_a and Core(k)_l (i.e. the thick triangulated subcategories generated by the tensor unit) is closely related to the Zariski spectrum of the int…
We study Tate motives with integral coefficients through the lens of tensor triangular geometry. For some base fields, including the field of algebraic numbers and the algebraic closure of a finite field, we arrive at a complete description of the tensor triangular spectrum and a classification of thick tensor ideals.
In this paper, we compute triangular spectrum (as defined by P. Balmer) of two classes of tensor triangulated categories which are quite common in algebraic geometry. One of them is the derived category of $G$-equivariant sheaves on a smooth scheme $X$ for a finite group $G$ which acts on $X$ with some smoothness condition on the quotient. The other class is the derived category of split superschemes.
