We present a spectroscopic catalog of 67082 M dwarfs from the LAMOST pilot survey. For each spectrum of the catalog, spectral subtype, radial velocity, equivalent width of H$α$, a number of prominent molecular band indices and the metal sensitive parameter $ζ$ are provided . Spectral subtype have been estimated by a remedied Hammer program (Original Hammer: Covey et al. 2007), in which indices are reselected to obtain more accurate auto-classified spectral subtypes. All spectra in this catalog have been visually inspected to confirm the spectral subtypes. Radial velocities have been well measured by our developed program which uses cross-correlation method and estimates uncertainty of radial velocity as well. We also examine the magnetic activity properties of M dwarfs traced by H$α$ emission line. The molecular band indices included in this catalog are temperature or metallicity sensitive and can be used for future analysis of the physical properties of M dwarfs. The catalog is available on the website \url{http://sciwiki.lamost.org/MCatalogPilot/}.
We present a set of white dwarf-main sequence (WDMS) binaries identified spectroscopically from the Large sky Area Multi-Object fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST, also called the Guo Shou Jing Telescope) pilot survey. We develop a color selection criteria based on what is so far the largest and most complete Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) DR7 WDMS binary catalog and identify 28 WDMS binaries within the LAMOST pilot survey. The primaries in our binary sample are mostly DA white dwarfs except for one DB white dwarf. We derive the stellar atmospheric parameters, masses, and radii for the two…
We present a spectroscopically identified catalogue of 72 DA white dwarfs from the LAMOST pilot survey. 35 are found to be new identifications after cross-correlation with the Eisenstein et al. and Villanova catalogues. The effective temperature and gravity of these white dwarfs are estimated by Balmer lines fitting. Most of them are hot white dwarfs. The cooling times and masses of these white dwarfs are estimated by interpolation in theoretical evolution tracks. The peak of mass distribution is found to be $\sim$ 0.6 $M_\odot$ which is consistent with prior work in the literature. The distan…
A total of $\sim640,000$ objects from LAMOST pilot survey have been publicly released. In this work, we present a catalog of DA white dwarfs from the entire pilot survey. We outline a new algorithm for the selection of white dwarfs by fitting Sérsic profiles to the Balmer H$β$, H$γ$ and H$δ$ lines of the spectra, and calculating the equivalent width of the CaII K line. 2964 candidates are selected by constraining the fitting parameters and the equivalent width of CaII K line. All the spectra of candidates are visually inspected. We identify 230 (59 of them are already in Villanova and SDSS WD …
RV variable stars are important in astrophysics. The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) spectroscopic survey has provided ~ 6.5 million stellar spectra in its Data Release 4 (DR4). During the survey, ~ 4.7 million unique sources were targeted and ~ 1 million stars observed repeatedly. The probabilities of stars being RV variables are estimated by comparing the observed radial velocity variations with the simulated ones. We build a catalog of 80,702 RV variable candidates with probability greater than 0.60 by analyzing the duplicate-observed multi-epoch sources c…
We present the data release (DR) 5 catalogue of white dwarf-main sequence (WDMS) binaries from the Large Area Multi-Object fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST). The catalogue contains 876 WDMS binaries, of which 757 are additions to our previous LAMOST DR1 sample and 357 are systems that have not been published before. We also describe a LAMOST-dedicated survey that aims at obtaining spectra of photometrically-selected WDMS binaries from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) that are expected to contain cool white dwarfs and/or early type M dwarf companions. This is a population under-represen…
Context. White dwarf-main sequence (WDMS) binaries are used to study several different important open problems in modern astrophysics. Aims. The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) identified the largest catalogue of WDMS binaries currently known. However, this sample is seriously affected by selection effects and the population of systems containing cool white dwarfs and early-type companions is under-represented.Here we search for WDMS binaries within the spectroscopic data release 1 of the LAMOST (Large sky Area Multi-Object fiber Spectroscopic Telescope) survey. LAMOST and SDSS follow differen…
The LAMOST spectroscopic survey for Galactic structure and evolution has been in operation since October 2012, following a one-year pilot survey. The pilot survey produced a data release containing over 600,000 stellar spectra. By cross-checking with a large time series photometric database of RR Lyrae stars in high Galactic latitude regions, we found a total number of 157 stars that have been observed with LAMOST. In this sample, we successfully captured three RR Lyrae stars in the fast expansion phase, all of them showing significant hypersonic shock wave features in the spectra. By fitting …
Recently the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) published its first data release (DR1), which is ranked as the largest stellar spectra dataset in the world so far. We combine the PASTEL catalog and SIMBAD radial velocities as a testing standard to validate the DR1 stellar parameters (effective temperature $T_{\mathrm{eff}}$, surface gravity $\log g$, metallicity $\mathrm{[Fe/H]}$ and radial velocity $V_{\mathrm{r}}$). Through cross-identification of the DR1 catalogs and the PASTEL catalog, we obtain a preliminary sample of 422 stars. After removal of stellar par…
Binaries play key roles in determining stellar parameters and exploring stellar evolution models. We build a catalog of 88 eclipsing binaries with spectroscopic information, taking advantage of observations from both the Large Sky Area Multi-Object fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) and the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF) surveys. A software pipeline is constructed to identify binary candidates by examining their light curves. The orbital periods of binaries are derived from the Lomb-Scargle method. The key distinguishing features of eclipsing binaries are recognized by a new filter \texti…
We derive a catalog of early-type emission-line stars including 30,048 spectra of 25,886 stars from LAMOST DR7, in which 3,922 have Simbad records. The sample is obtained using K-Nearest Neighbor and Random Forest methods and visually inspected. The spectra are classified into 3 morphological types (10 subtypes) based on H$α$ emission line profiles. Some spectra contaminated by nebula emission lines such as from HII regions are flagged in the catalog. We also provide a specific sub-catalog of 101 stars with the stellar wind by calculating stellar wind or accretion flow velocities based on P Cy…
Standard stellar evolution model predicts a severe depletion of lithium (Li) abundance during the first dredge up process (FDU). Yet a small fraction of giant stars are still found to preserve a considerable amount of Li in their atmospheres after the FDU. Those giants are usually identified as Li-rich by a widely used criterion, A(Li) > 1.5 dex. A large number of works dedicated to searching for investigating this minority of the giant family, and the amount of Li-rich giants, has been largely expanded on, especially in the era of big data. In this paper, we present a catalog of Li-rich giant…
The spectroscopic sky survey carried out by the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) provides the largest stellar spectra library in the world until now. A large number of new DA white dwarfs had been identified based on the LAMOST spectra. The effective temperature ($T_{\rm eff}$) and surface gravity ($\log g$) of most DA white dwarfs were determined and published in the catalogs, e.g. Zhao et al. (2013), Rebassa-Mansergas et al. (2015), Gentile Fusillo et al. (2015) and Guo et al. (2015). We selected ZZ Ceti candidates from the published catalogs by considering …
As a major component of the LAMOST Galactic surveys, the LAMOST Spectroscopic Survey of the Galactic Anti-centre (LSS-GAC) aims to survey a significant volume of the Galactic thin/thick discs and halo for a contiguous sky area of over 3,400 deg$^2$ centred on the Galactic anti-centre ($|b| \leq 30^{\circ}$, $150 \leq l \leq 210^{\circ}$), and obtain $λλ$3700 -- 9000 low resolution ($R \sim 1,800$) spectra for a statistically complete sample of $\sim 3$\,M stars of all colours down to a limiting magnitued of $r$ $\sim$ 17.8\,mag (to 18.5\,mag for limited fields). Together with Gaia, the LSS-GAC…
We present a sample of 2700 Ap stars in LAMOST DR9. The candidates are first selected to be in a temperature range typical of Ap stars by using the $BP$-$RP$ color index from Gaia DR3. Then the 5200\,Å flux depression features characteristic of Ap stars are visually checked in LAMOST DR9 spectra. The detailed spectral features are given by applying a modified spectral classification program, MKCLASS. Stellar parameters of these Ap stars such as $T_{\rm eff}$, $\log g$, [Fe/H], [Si/H], and $v{\sin}i$ are either extracted from a hot star catalog or derived through empirical relations and then a …
I combine duplicate spectroscopic stellar parameter estimates in the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) Data Release 6 Low Resolution Spectral Survey A, F, G, and K Type stellar parameter catalog. Combining repeat measurements results in a factor of two improvement in the precision of the spectroscopic stellar parameter estimates. Moreover, this trivializes the process of performing coordinate-based cross-matching with other catalogs. Similarly, I combine duplicate stellar abundance estimates for the Xiang et al. catalog which was produced using LAMOST Data Rele…
We derive stellar parameters and abundances (`stellar labels') of 40,034 late-B and A-type main-sequence stars extracted from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope Medium Resolution Survey (LAMOST--MRS). The primary selection of our early-type sample was obtained from LAMOST Data Release 7 based on spectral line indices. We employed the Stellar LAbel Machine (SLAM) to derive their spectroscopic stellar parameters, drawing on Kurucz spectral synthesis models with 6000 K $< T_\mathrm{eff} <$ 15,000 K and $-1$ dex $< \mathrm{[M/H]} <$ 1 dex. For a signal-to-noise ratio of …
In this work, we present new catalogs of M giant and M dwarf stars from the LAMOST DR5. In total, 39,796 M giants and 501,152 M dwarfs are identified from the classification pipeline. The template-fitting results contain M giants with 7 temperature subtypes from M0 to M6, M dwarfs with 18 temperature subtypes from K7.0 to M8.5 and 12 metallicity subclasses from dMr to usdMp. We cross-matched our M-type catalog with the 2MASS and WISE catalog to obtain infrared magnitude and colors. Adopting the distances derived from the parallaxes in \gaia{} DR2, the M_G vs. (G_bp-G_rp)_0 diagram shows that t…

In this work, we present a catalog of cataclysmic variables (CVs) identified from the Sixth Data Release (DR6) of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST). To single out the CV spectra, we introduce a novel machine-learning algorithm called UMAP to screen out a total of 169,509 H$α$-emission spectra, and obtain a classification accuracy of the algorithm of over 99.6$\%$ from the cross-validation set. We then apply the template matching program PyHammer v2.0 to the LAMOST spectra to obtain the optimal spectral type with metallicity, which helps us identify the chro…
The identification and analysis of different variable sources is a hot issue in astrophysical research. The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) spectroscopic survey has accumulated massive spectral data but contains no information about variable sources. Although a few related studies present variable source catalogs for the LAMOST, the studies still have a few deficiencies regarding the type and number of variable sources identified. In this study, we presented a statistical modeling approach to identify variable source candidates. We first crossed the Kepler, S…
We cross-matched 1.3 million white dwarf (WD) candidates from Gaia EDR3 with spectral data from LAMOST DR7 within 3 arcsec. Applying machine learning described in our previous work, we spectroscopically identified 6,190 WD objects after visual inspection, among which 1,496 targets were firstly confirmed. 32 detailed classes were adopted for them, including but not limited to DAB and DB+M. We estimated the atmospheric parameters for the DA and DB type WD using Levenberg-Marquardt least-squares algorithm (LM). Finally, a catalog of WD spectra from LAMOST was provided online.
Since the release of LAMOST (the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope) catalog, we have the opportunity to use the LAMOST DR2 stellar catalog and \emph{WISE All-sky catalog} to search for 22 $μ$m excess candidates. In this paper, we present 10 FGK candidates which show an excess in the infrared (IR) at 22 $μ$m. The ten sources are all the newly identified 22 $μ$m excess candidates. Of these 10 stars, 5 stars are F type and 5 stars are G type. The criterion for selecting candidates is $K_s-[22]_{μm}\geq0.387$. In addition, we present the spectral energy distributions (SEDs)…
M3 and M13 are Galactic globular clusters with previous reports of surrounding stellar halos. We present the results of a search for members and extratidal cluster halo stars within and outside of the tidal radius of these clusters in the LAMOST Data Release 1. We find seven candidate cluster members (inside the tidal radius) of both M3 and M13 respectively. In M3 we also identify eight candidate extratidal cluster halo stars at distances up to ~9.8 times the tidal radius, and in M13 we identify 12 candidate extratidal cluster halo stars at distances up to ~13.8 times the tidal radius. These r…
We present the ultraviolet magnitudes for over three million stars in the LAMOST survey, in which 2,202,116 stars are detected by $GALEX$. For 889,235 undetected stars, we develop a method to estimate their upper limit magnitudes. The distribution of (FUV $-$ NUV) shows that the color declines with increasing effective temperature for stars hotter than 7000 K in our sample, while the trend disappears for the cooler stars due to upper atmosphere emission from the regions higher than their photospheres. For stars with valid stellar parameters, we calculate the UV excesses with synthetic model sp…
We present a value-added catalog containing stellar parameters estimated from 7.10 million low-resolution spectra for 5.16 million unique stars with spectral signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) higher than 10 obtained by the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fibre Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) Galactic spectroscopic surveys. The catalog presents values of stellar atmospheric parameters (effective temperature $T_{\mathrm{eff}}$, surface gravity $\log g$, metallicity [Fe/H]/[M/H]), $α$-element to metal abundance ratio [$α$/M], carbon and nitrogen to iron abundance ratios [C/Fe] and [N/Fe] and 14 bands' a…
Numerous EWs were discovered by several deep photometric survey and there are about 40785 EW-type binary systems listed in the international variable star index (VSX) by March 13, 2017. 7938 of them were observed by LAMOST by November 30, 2016 and their spectral types were given. Stellar atmospheric parameters of 5363 EW-type binary stars were determined based on good spectroscopic observations. In the paper, those EWs were catalogued and their properties are analyzed. The distributions of the orbital period (P), the effect temperature (T), the gravitational acceleration (Log(g)), the metallic…
A sample of Cataclysmic Variables (CVs) is presented including spectroscopically identified 380 spectra of 245 objects, of which 58 CV candidates are new discoveries. The BaggingTopPush and the Random Forest algorithms are applied to the Fifth Data Release (DR5) of LAMOST to retrieve CVs with strong emission lines and with broad absorption lines respectively. Based on spectroscopic classification, 134 dwarf novae, 41 nova-like variables and 19 magnetic CVs are identified from the sample. In addition, 89 high--inclination systems and 33 CVs showing companion stars are recognized and discussed f…
The Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) medium-resolution spectral survey of Galactic Nebulae (MRS-N) has conducted for three years since Sep. 2018 and observed more than 190 thousands nebular spectra and 20 thousands stellar spectra. However, there is not yet a data processing pipeline for nebular data. To significantly improve the accuracy of nebulae classification and their physical parameters, we developed the MRS-N Pipeline. This article presented in detail each data processing step of the MRS-N Pipeline, such as removing cosmic rays, merging single exposure…
High-precision stellar mass and radius measured directly from binaries can effectively calibrate the stellar models. However, such a database containing full spectral types and large range of metallicity is still not fully established. A continuous effort of data collecting and analysis are requested to complete the database. In this work, we provide a catalog containing 184 binaries with independent atmospheric parameters and accurate masses and radii as the benchmark of stellar mass and radius. The catalog contains 56 new detached binaries from LAMOST Medium-resolution spectroscopic (MRS) su…
M dwarfs are the most common type of star in the Galaxy, and because of their small size are favored targets for searches of Earth-sized transiting exoplanets. Current and upcoming all-sky spectroscopic surveys, such as the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST), offer an opportunity to systematically determine physical properties of many more M dwarfs than has been previously possible. Here we present new effective temperatures, radii, masses, and luminosities for 29,678 M dwarfs with spectral types M0-M6 in the first data release (DR1) of LAMOST. We derived these …
We perform a discrimination procedure with the spectral index diagram of TiO5 and CaH2+CaH3 to separate M giants from M dwarfs. Using the M giant spectra identified from the LAMOST DR1 with high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), we have successfully assembled a set of M giant templates, which show more reliable spectral features. Combining with the M dwarf/subdwarf templates in Zhong et al. (2015), we present an extended M-type templates library which includes not only M dwarfs with well-defined temperature and metallicity grid but also M giants with subtype from M0 to M6. Then, the template-fit al…
We present a detailed analysis of the selection function of the LAMOST Spectroscopic Survey of the Galactic Anti-centre (LSS-GAC). LSS-GAC was designed to obtain low resolution optical spectra for a sample of more than 3 million stars in the Galactic anti-centre. The second release of value-added catalogues of the LSS-GAC (LSS-GAC DR2) contains stellar parameters, including radial velocity, atmospheric parameters, elemental abundances and absolute magnitudes deduced from 1.8 million spectra of 1.4 million unique stars targeted by the LSS-GAC between 2011 and 2014. For many studies using this d…
388 hot subdwarf stars have been identified by using the Hertzsprung-Russell (HR) diagram built from the second data release (DR2) of the Gaia mission. By analyzing their observed LAMOST spectra, we characterized 186 sdB, 73 He-sdOB, 65 sdOB, 45 sdO, 12 He-sdO and 7 He-sdB stars. The atmospheric parameters of these stars (e.g., T eff , log g, log(nHe/nH)) are obtained by fitting the hydrogen (H) and helium (He) line profiles with synthetic spectra calculated from non-Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (non-LTE) model atmospheres. Among these stars, we have 135 new identified hot subdwarfs which h…
The three-dimensional extinction and structure are studied for the Taurus, Orion, Perseus and California molecular clouds based on the LAMOST spectroscopy. Stellar color excess is calculated with the intrinsic color index derived from the atmospheric parameters in the LAMOST DR8 catalog and the observed color index in the Gaia EDR3 and the 2MASS PSC. In combination with the distance from the Gaia EDR3 parallax, the three-dimensional dust extinction maps are retrieved in the color excesses $E_{\rm{G_{BP},G_{RP}}}$ and $E_{\rm{J,K_{S}}}$ with an uncertainty of $\sim$0.03mag and $\sim$0.07mag res…
We present a data-driven method to estimate absolute magnitudes for O- and B-type stars from the LAMOST spectra, which we combine with {\it Gaia} parallaxes to infer distance and binarity. The method applies a neural network model trained on stars with precise {\it Gaia} parallax to the spectra and predicts $K_{\rm s}$-band absolute magnitudes $M_{Ks}$ with a precision of 0.25\,mag, which corresponds to a precision of 12\% in spectroscopic distance. For distant stars (e.g. $>5$\,kpc), the inclusion of constraints from spectroscopic $M_{Ks}$ significantly improves the distance estimates compare…
We take advantage of the Gaia data release 2 to present 275 and 1,774 ultraviolet luminous stars in the FUV and the NUV. These stars are 5$σ$ exceeding the centers of the reference frame that is built with over one million UV stars in the log $g$ vs $T_\textrm{eff}$ diagram. The Galactic extinction is corrected with the 3D dusty map. In order to limit the Lutz-Kelker effect to an insignificant level, we select the stars with the relative uncertainties of the luminosity less than 40% and the trigonometric parallaxes less than 20%. We cross-identified our sample with the catalogs of RR Lyr stars…
In this paper, we report on 606 S-type stars identified from Data Release 9 of the LAMOST medium-resolution spectroscopic (MRS) survey, and 539 of them are reported for the first time. The discovery of these stars is a three-step process, i.e., selecting with the ZrO band indices greater than 0.25, excluding non-S-type stars with the iterative Support Vector Machine method, and finally retaining stars with absolute bolometric magnitude larger than -7.1. The 606 stars are consistent with the distribution of known S-type stars in the color-magnitude diagram. We estimated the C/Os using the [C/Fe…
In this work, we present the new catalog of carbon stars from the LAMOST DR2 catalog. In total, 894 carbon stars are identified from multiple line indices measured from the stellar spectra. Combining the CN bands in the red end with \ctwo\ and other lines, we are able to identify the carbon stars. Moreover, we also classify the carbon stars into spectral sub-types of \ch, \CR, and \cn. These sub-types approximately show distinct features in the multi-dimensional line indices, implying that in the future we can use them to identify carbon stars from larger spectroscopic datasets. Meanwhile, fro…
We present 22\,901 OB spectra of 16\,032 stars identified from LAMOST DR5 dataset. A larger sample of OB candidates are firstly selected from the distributions in the spectral line indices space. Then all 22\,901 OB spectra are identified by manual inspection. Based on a sub-sample validation, we find that the completeness of the OB spectra reaches about $89\pm22$\% for the stars with spectral type earlier than B7, while around $57\pm16$\% B8--B9 stars are identified. The smaller completeness for late B stars is lead to the difficulty to discriminate them from A0--A1 type stars. The sub-classe…
Accurate determination of stellar atmospheric parameters and elemental abundances is crucial for Galactic archeology via large-scale spectroscopic surveys. In this paper, we estimate stellar atmospheric parameters -- effective temperature T_{\rm eff}, surface gravity log g and metallicity [Fe/H], absolute magnitudes M_V and M_{Ks}, α-element to metal (and iron) abundance ratio [α/M] (and [α/Fe]), as well as carbon and nitrogen abundances [C/H] and [N/H] from the LAMOST spectra with amultivariate regressionmethod based on kernel-based principal component analysis, using stars in common with oth…
The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST), also known as the Guoshoujing Telescope, is a major national scientific facility for astronomical research located in Xinglong, China. Beginning with a pilot survey in 2011, LAMOST has been surveying the night sky for more than 10 years. The LAMOST survey covers various objects in the Universe, from normal stars to peculiar ones, from the Milky Way to other galaxies, and from stellar black holes and their companions to quasars that ignite ancient galaxies. Until the latest data release 8, the LAMOST survey has released spe…
In this work, we provide 2189 photometric- and kinematic-selected member candidates of 24 star clusters from the LAMOST DR2 catalog. We perform two-step membership identification: selection along the stellar track in the color-magnitude diagram, i.e., photometric identification, and the selection from the distribution of radial velocities, i.e. the kinematic identification. We find that the radial velocity from the LAMOST data are very helpful in the membership identification. The mean probability of membership is 40\% for the radial velocity selected sample. With these 24 star clusters, we in…
