In this work, we present new catalogs of M giant and M dwarf stars from the LAMOST DR5. In total, 39,796 M giants and 501,152 M dwarfs are identified from the classification pipeline. The template-fitting results contain M giants with 7 temperature subtypes from M0 to M6, M dwarfs with 18 temperature subtypes from K7.0 to M8.5 and 12 metallicity subclasses from dMr to usdMp. We cross-matched our M-type catalog with the 2MASS and WISE catalog to obtain infrared magnitude and colors. Adopting the distances derived from the parallaxes in \gaia{} DR2, the M_G vs. (G_bp-G_rp)_0 diagram shows that there are also early-type stars and white dwarf-M dwarf binaries included in our M type stars sample, with a contamination rate of about 4.6% for M giants and 0.48% for M dwarfs. We found that CaH spectral indices are an efficient selection criteria for carbon stars. A total of 289 carbon stars were identified from the M giants sample, and further confirmed by LAMOST spectra.
Gaia DR3 and further releases have the potential to identify and categorise new emission-line stars in the Galaxy. We perform a comprehensive validation of astrophysical parameters from Gaia DR3 with the spectroscopically estimated emission-line star parameters from LAMOST OBA emission catalogue. We compare different astrophysical parameters provided by Gaia DR3 with those estimated using LAMOST spectra. By using a larger sample of emission-line stars, we perform a global polynomial and piece-wise linear fit to update the empirical relation to convert Gaia DR3 pseudo-equivalent width to observ…
Standard stellar evolution model predicts a severe depletion of lithium (Li) abundance during the first dredge up process (FDU). Yet a small fraction of giant stars are still found to preserve a considerable amount of Li in their atmospheres after the FDU. Those giants are usually identified as Li-rich by a widely used criterion, A(Li) > 1.5 dex. A large number of works dedicated to searching for investigating this minority of the giant family, and the amount of Li-rich giants, has been largely expanded on, especially in the era of big data. In this paper, we present a catalog of Li-rich giant…
We present a sample of 2700 Ap stars in LAMOST DR9. The candidates are first selected to be in a temperature range typical of Ap stars by using the $BP$-$RP$ color index from Gaia DR3. Then the 5200\,Å flux depression features characteristic of Ap stars are visually checked in LAMOST DR9 spectra. The detailed spectral features are given by applying a modified spectral classification program, MKCLASS. Stellar parameters of these Ap stars such as $T_{\rm eff}$, $\log g$, [Fe/H], [Si/H], and $v{\sin}i$ are either extracted from a hot star catalog or derived through empirical relations and then a …
I combine duplicate spectroscopic stellar parameter estimates in the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) Data Release 6 Low Resolution Spectral Survey A, F, G, and K Type stellar parameter catalog. Combining repeat measurements results in a factor of two improvement in the precision of the spectroscopic stellar parameter estimates. Moreover, this trivializes the process of performing coordinate-based cross-matching with other catalogs. Similarly, I combine duplicate stellar abundance estimates for the Xiang et al. catalog which was produced using LAMOST Data Rele…
In this work, we present a catalog of cataclysmic variables (CVs) identified from the Sixth Data Release (DR6) of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST). To single out the CV spectra, we introduce a novel machine-learning algorithm called UMAP to screen out a total of 169,509 H$α$-emission spectra, and obtain a classification accuracy of the algorithm of over 99.6$\%$ from the cross-validation set. We then apply the template matching program PyHammer v2.0 to the LAMOST spectra to obtain the optimal spectral type with metallicity, which helps us identify the chro…
M3 and M13 are Galactic globular clusters with previous reports of surrounding stellar halos. We present the results of a search for members and extratidal cluster halo stars within and outside of the tidal radius of these clusters in the LAMOST Data Release 1. We find seven candidate cluster members (inside the tidal radius) of both M3 and M13 respectively. In M3 we also identify eight candidate extratidal cluster halo stars at distances up to ~9.8 times the tidal radius, and in M13 we identify 12 candidate extratidal cluster halo stars at distances up to ~13.8 times the tidal radius. These r…
The identification and analysis of different variable sources is a hot issue in astrophysical research. The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) spectroscopic survey has accumulated massive spectral data but contains no information about variable sources. Although a few related studies present variable source catalogs for the LAMOST, the studies still have a few deficiencies regarding the type and number of variable sources identified. In this study, we presented a statistical modeling approach to identify variable source candidates. We first crossed the Kepler, S…
Since the release of LAMOST (the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope) catalog, we have the opportunity to use the LAMOST DR2 stellar catalog and \emph{WISE All-sky catalog} to search for 22 $μ$m excess candidates. In this paper, we present 10 FGK candidates which show an excess in the infrared (IR) at 22 $μ$m. The ten sources are all the newly identified 22 $μ$m excess candidates. Of these 10 stars, 5 stars are F type and 5 stars are G type. The criterion for selecting candidates is $K_s-[22]_{μm}\geq0.387$. In addition, we present the spectral energy distributions (SEDs)…
We present a value-added catalog containing stellar parameters estimated from 7.10 million low-resolution spectra for 5.16 million unique stars with spectral signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) higher than 10 obtained by the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fibre Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) Galactic spectroscopic surveys. The catalog presents values of stellar atmospheric parameters (effective temperature $T_{\mathrm{eff}}$, surface gravity $\log g$, metallicity [Fe/H]/[M/H]), $α$-element to metal abundance ratio [$α$/M], carbon and nitrogen to iron abundance ratios [C/Fe] and [N/Fe] and 14 bands' a…
We collect a sample of stars observed both in LAMOST and Gaia which have colors implying a temperature hotter than 7000 K. We train a machine learning algorithm on LAMOST spectroscopic data which has been tagged with stellar classifications and metallicities, and use this machine to construct a catalog of Blue Horizontal Branch stars (BHBs) with metallicity information. Another machine is trained using Gaia parallaxes to predict absolute magnitudes for these stars. The final catalog of 13,693 BHBs is thought to be about 86\% pure, with $σ_{[Fe/H]}\sim$0.35 dex and $σ_{G}\sim$0.31 mag. These va…
We present a catalogue including 11,204 spectra for 10,436 early-type emission-line stars from LAMOST DR2, among which 9,752 early-type emission-line spectra are newly discovered. For these early-type emission-line stars, we discuss the morphological and physical properties from their low-resolution spectra. In this spectral sample, the H$α$ emission profiles display a wide variety of shapes. Based on the H$α$ line profiles, these spectra are categorized into five distinct classes: single-peak emission, single-peak emission in absorption, double-peak emission, double-peak emission in absorptio…
The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) is a major facility to carry out spectroscopic surveys for cosmology and galaxy evolution studies. The seventh data release of the LAMOST ExtraGAlactic Survey (LEGAS) is currently available and including redshifts of 193\,361 galaxies. These sources are spread over $\sim 11\,500$ deg$^2$ of the sky, largely overlapping with other imaging (SDSS, HSC) and spectroscopic (BOSS) surveys. The estimated depth of the galaxy sample, $r\sim17.8$, the high signal-to-noise ratio, and the spectral resolution $R=1800$, make the LAMOST sp…
We perform a discrimination procedure with the spectral index diagram of TiO5 and CaH2+CaH3 to separate M giants from M dwarfs. Using the M giant spectra identified from the LAMOST DR1 with high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), we have successfully assembled a set of M giant templates, which show more reliable spectral features. Combining with the M dwarf/subdwarf templates in Zhong et al. (2015), we present an extended M-type templates library which includes not only M dwarfs with well-defined temperature and metallicity grid but also M giants with subtype from M0 to M6. Then, the template-fit al…
We take advantage of the Gaia data release 2 to present 275 and 1,774 ultraviolet luminous stars in the FUV and the NUV. These stars are 5$σ$ exceeding the centers of the reference frame that is built with over one million UV stars in the log $g$ vs $T_\textrm{eff}$ diagram. The Galactic extinction is corrected with the 3D dusty map. In order to limit the Lutz-Kelker effect to an insignificant level, we select the stars with the relative uncertainties of the luminosity less than 40% and the trigonometric parallaxes less than 20%. We cross-identified our sample with the catalogs of RR Lyr stars…
We describe the footprint and input catalog for bright nights in the LAMOST Pilot Survey, which began in October 2011. Targets are selected from two stripes in the north and south Galactic Cap regions, centered at $α$= 29$^\circ$, with 10$^\circ$ width in declination, covering right ascension of 135$^\circ-290^\circ$ and -30$^\circ$ to 30$^\circ$ respectively. We selected spectroscopic targets from a combination of the SDSS and 2MASS point source catalogs. The catalog of stars defining the field centers (as required by the Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor at the center of the LAMOST field) cons…
In this paper, we report on 606 S-type stars identified from Data Release 9 of the LAMOST medium-resolution spectroscopic (MRS) survey, and 539 of them are reported for the first time. The discovery of these stars is a three-step process, i.e., selecting with the ZrO band indices greater than 0.25, excluding non-S-type stars with the iterative Support Vector Machine method, and finally retaining stars with absolute bolometric magnitude larger than -7.1. The 606 stars are consistent with the distribution of known S-type stars in the color-magnitude diagram. We estimated the C/Os using the [C/Fe…
A compact group (CG) is a kind of special galaxy system where the galaxy members are separated at the distances of the order of galaxy size. The strong interaction between the galaxy members makes CGs ideal labs for studying the environmental effects on galaxy evolution. The traditional photometric selection algorithm biases against the CG candidates at low redshifts, while the spectroscopic identification technique is affected by the spectroscopic incompleteness of sample galaxies and typically biases against the high redshift candidates. In this study, we combine these two methods and select…
We present a data-driven method to estimate absolute magnitudes for O- and B-type stars from the LAMOST spectra, which we combine with {\it Gaia} parallaxes to infer distance and binarity. The method applies a neural network model trained on stars with precise {\it Gaia} parallax to the spectra and predicts $K_{\rm s}$-band absolute magnitudes $M_{Ks}$ with a precision of 0.25\,mag, which corresponds to a precision of 12\% in spectroscopic distance. For distant stars (e.g. $>5$\,kpc), the inclusion of constraints from spectroscopic $M_{Ks}$ significantly improves the distance estimates compare…
In this work, we present the new catalog of carbon stars from the LAMOST DR2 catalog. In total, 894 carbon stars are identified from multiple line indices measured from the stellar spectra. Combining the CN bands in the red end with \ctwo\ and other lines, we are able to identify the carbon stars. Moreover, we also classify the carbon stars into spectral sub-types of \ch, \CR, and \cn. These sub-types approximately show distinct features in the multi-dimensional line indices, implying that in the future we can use them to identify carbon stars from larger spectroscopic datasets. Meanwhile, fro…
We present 22\,901 OB spectra of 16\,032 stars identified from LAMOST DR5 dataset. A larger sample of OB candidates are firstly selected from the distributions in the spectral line indices space. Then all 22\,901 OB spectra are identified by manual inspection. Based on a sub-sample validation, we find that the completeness of the OB spectra reaches about $89\pm22$\% for the stars with spectral type earlier than B7, while around $57\pm16$\% B8--B9 stars are identified. The smaller completeness for late B stars is lead to the difficulty to discriminate them from A0--A1 type stars. The sub-classe…
We have analyzed the kinematics of OB stars from the list by Xiang et al. (2021) that contains $\sim$13 000 single OB stars. For these stars there are photometric distance estimates and proper motions from the Gaia catalogue and line-of-sight velocities from the LAMOST catalogue. Based on a sample of single OB stars and using the photometric distances and proper motions of stars from the Gaia EDR3 catalogue, we have found the group velocity components $(U_\odot,V_\odot,W_\odot)=(9.63,9.93,7.45)\pm(0.27,0.34,0.10)$ km s$^{-1}$, and the following parameters of the angular velocity of Galactic ro…
The Kepler telescope has discovered over 4,000 planets (candidates) by searching ? 200,000 stars over a wide range of distance (order of kpc) in our Galaxy. Characterizing the kinematic properties (e.g., Galactic component membership and kinematic age) of these Kepler targets (including the planet (candidate) hosts) is the first step towards studying Kepler planets in the Galactic context, which will reveal fresh insights into planet formation and evolution. In this paper, the second part of the Planets Across the Space and Time (PAST) series, by combining the data from LAMOST and Gaia and the…
Context. Determining the metallicities and ages of M31 clusters is fundamental to the study of the formation and evolution of M31 itself. The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) has carried out a systematic spectroscopic campaign of clusters and candidates in M31. Aims. We constructed a catalogue of 346 M31 clusters observed by LAMOST. By combining the information of the LAMOST spectra and the multi-band photometry, we developed a new algorithm to estimate the metallicities and ages of these clusters. Methods. We distinguish young clusters from old using random f…
We present the second release of value-added catalogues of the LAMOST Spectroscopic Survey of the Galactic Anticentre (LSS-GAC DR2). The catalogues present values of radial velocity $V_{\rm r}$, atmospheric parameters --- effective temperature $T_{\rm eff}$, surface gravity log$g$, metallicity [Fe/H], $α$-element to iron (metal) abundance ratio [$α$/Fe] ([$α$/M]), elemental abundances [C/H] and [N/H], and absolute magnitudes ${\rm M}_V$ and ${\rm M}_{K_{\rm s}}$ deduced from 1.8 million spectra of 1.4 million unique stars targeted by the LSS-GAC since September 2011 until June 2014. The catalo…
In this work, we provide 2189 photometric- and kinematic-selected member candidates of 24 star clusters from the LAMOST DR2 catalog. We perform two-step membership identification: selection along the stellar track in the color-magnitude diagram, i.e., photometric identification, and the selection from the distribution of radial velocities, i.e. the kinematic identification. We find that the radial velocity from the LAMOST data are very helpful in the membership identification. The mean probability of membership is 40\% for the radial velocity selected sample. With these 24 star clusters, we in…
We present a spectroscopic redshift catalog from the LAMOST Complete Spectroscopic Survey of Pointing Area (LaCoSSPAr) in the Southern Galactic Cap (SGC), which is designed to observe all sources (Galactic and extra-galactic) by using repeating observations with a limiting magnitude of $r=18.1~mag$ in two $20~deg^2$ fields. The project is mainly focusing on the completeness of LAMOST ExtraGAlactic Surveys (LEGAS) in the SGC, the deficiencies of source selection methods and the basic performance parameters of LAMOST telescope. In both fields, more than 95% of galaxies have been observed. A post…
We present the Data Release 4&5 quasar catalog from the quasar survey by Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST), which includes quasars observed between September 2015 and June 2017. There are a total of 19,253 quasars identified by visual inspections of the spectra. Among them, 11,458 are independently discovered by LAMOST, in which 3296 were reported by SDSS DR12 and DR14 quasar catalog after our survey began, while the rest 8162 are new discoveries of LAMOST. We provide the emission line measurements for the Halpha, Hbeta, MgII and/or CIV for 18100 quasars. Since…

We present a catalog of stellar age and mass estimates for a sample of 640\,986 red giant branch (RGB) stars of the Galactic disk from the LAMOST Galactic Spectroscopic Survey (DR4). The RGB stars are distinguished from the red clump stars utilizing period spacing derived from the spectra with a machine learning method based on kernel principal component analysis (KPCA). Cross-validation suggests our method is capable of distinguishing RC from RGB stars with only 2 per cent contamination rate for stars with signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) higher than 50. The age and mass of these RGB stars are det…
We present a sample of about 120,000 red clump candidates selected from the LAMOST DR2 catalog based on the empirical distribution model in the effective temperature vs. surface gravity plane. Although, in general, red clump stars are considered as the standard candle, they do not exactly stay in a narrow range of absolute magnitude, but may extend to more than 1 magnitude depending on their initial mass. Consequently, conventional oversimplified distance estimations with assumption of fixed luminosity may lead to systematic bias related to the initial mass or the age, which may potentially af…
We describe the target selection algorithm for the low latitude disk portion of the LAMOST Pilot Survey, which aims to test systems in preparation for the LAMOST spectroscopic survey. We use the PPMXL (Roeser et al. 2010) astrometric catalog, which provides positions, proper motions, B/R/I magnitudes (mostly) from USNO-B (Monet et al. 2003) and J/H/Ks from The Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS, see Skrutskie et al. 2006) as well. We chose 8 plates along the Galactic plane, in the region $0^\circ<α<67^\circ$ and $42^\circ<δ<59^\circ$, that cover 22 known open clusters with a range of ages. Adjac…
In this era of large-scale stellar spectroscopic surveys, measurements of stellar attributes ("labels," i.e. parameters and abundances) must be made precise and consistent across surveys. Here, we demonstrate that this can be achieved by a data-driven approach to spectral modeling. With The Cannon, we transfer information from the APOGEE survey to determine precise Teff, log g, [Fe/H], and [$α$/M] from the spectra of 450,000 LAMOST giants. The Cannon fits a predictive model for LAMOST spectra using 9952 stars observed in common between the two surveys, taking five labels from APOGEE DR12 as gr…
Based on an extensive spectral study of a photometrically confirmed sample of Mira variables, we find a relationship between relative Balmer emission-line strength and spectral temperature of O-rich Mira stars. The $F_{\rm Hδ}/F_{\rm Hγ}$ flux ratio increases from less than unity to five as stars cool down from M0 to M10, which is likely driven by increasing TiO absorption above the deepest shock-emitting regions. We also discuss the relationship between the equivalent widths of the Balmer emission lines and the photometric luminosity phase of our Mira sample stars. Using our 291 Mira spectra …
Large stellar surveys are revealing the chemodynamical structure of the Galaxy across a vast spatial extent. However, the many millions of low-resolution spectra observed to date are yet to be fully exploited. We employ The Cannon, a data-driven approach to estimating abundances, to obtain detailed abundances from low-resolution (R = 1800) LAMOST spectra, using the GALAH survey as our reference. We deliver five (for dwarfs) or six (for giants) estimated abundances representing five different nucleosynthetic channels, for 3.9 million stars, to a precision of 0.05 - 0.23 dex. Using wide binary p…
We present a catalog of 908 objects observed with the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) in the vicinity fields of M31 and M33, targeted as globular clusters (GCs) and candidates. The targets include known GCs and candidates selected from the literature, as well as new candidates selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). Analysis shows that 356 of them are likely GCs of various degree of confidence, while the remaining ones turn out to be background galaxies and quasars, stars and HII regions in M31 or foreground Galactic stars. The 356 likely GCs inclu…
M dwarfs are the dominating type of stars in the solar neighbourhood. They serve as excellent tracers for the study of the distribution and properties of the nearby interstellar dust. In this work, we aim to obtain high accuracy reddening values of M dwarf stars from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) Data Release 8 (DR8). Combining the LAMOST spectra with the high-quality optical photometry from the Gaia Early Data Release 3 (Gaia EDR3), we have estimated the reddening values $E(G_{\rm BP}-G_{\rm RP})$ of 641,426 M dwarfs with the machine-learning algorithm…
To study the quality of stellar spectra of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) and the correctness of the corresponding stellar parameters derived by the LASP (LAMOST Stellar Parameter Pipeline), the outlier analysis method is applied to the archived AFGK stars in the fifth data release (DR5) of LAMOST. The outlier factor is defined in order to sort more than 3 million stellar spectra selected from the DR5 Stellar Parameter catalog. We propose an improved Local Outlier Factor (LOF) method based on Principal Component Analysis and Monte Carlo to enable the com…
We analyze the kinematics of thick disk and halo stars observed by the Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope. We have constructed a sample of 7,993 F, G and K nearby main-sequence stars (\textit{d} $<$ 2 kpc) with estimates of position (x, y, z) and space velocity ($U$, $V$, $W$) based on color and proper motion from the SDSS DR9 catalog. Three `phase-space overdensities' are identified in [\textit{V}, $\sqrt{U^{2}+2V^{2}}$] with significance levels of $σ$ $>$ 3. %[L$_{Z}$, eccentricity], [L$_{Z}$, L$_{\bot}$], and [V$_{az}$, V$_{\triangle}E$]. Two of them (Hyades-Pleiades …

The extragalactic $γ$-rays sky observed by Fermi-Large Area Telescope (LAT) is dominated by blazars. In the fourth release of the Fermi-LAT Point Source Catalog (4FGL), are sources showing a multifrequency behavior similar to that of blazars but lacking an optical spectroscopic confirmation of their nature known as Blazar Candidate of Uncertain type (BCUs). We aim at confirming the blazar nature of BCUs and test if new optical spectroscopic observations can reveal spectral features, allowing us to get a redshift estimate for known BL Lac objects. We also aim to search for and discover changing…
