In this paper, we study strongly Gauduchon metrics on compact complex manifolds. We study the cohomology cones SG in the de Rham cohomology groups generated by all strongly Gauduchon metrics and its direct images under proper modifications. We also study the moduli of strongly Gauduchon manifolds. We prove an existence result of strongly Gauduchon metrics on compact complex manifold which is fibred over a compact complex curve. In particular, if a compact complex manifold X has a topologically essential fibration over a compact complex curve, and if the generic fibres satisfy ddbar-lemma, then X admits strongly Gauduchon metrics.
The main result of this paper is to study the local deformations of Calabi-Yau $\partial\bar{\partial}$-manifold that are co-polarised by the Gauduchon metric by considering the subfamily of co-polarised fibres by the class of Aeppli/De Rham-Gauduchon cohomology of Gauduchon metric given at the beginning on the central fibre. In the latter part, we prove that the $p$-SKT $h$-$\partial\bar{\partial}$-property is deformation open by constructing and studying a new notion called $hp$-Hermitian symplectic ($hp$-HS) form.
In this paper, we use the affine Hermitian-Yang-Mills flow to prove a generalized Donaldson-Uhlenbeck-Yau theorem on flat Higgs bundles over a class of non-compact affine Gauduchon manifolds.
In this paper, we study the semi-stable twisted holomorphic vector bundles over compact Gauduchon manifolds. By using Uhlenbeck--Yau's continuity method, we show that the existence of approximate Hermitian--Einstein structure and the semi-stability of twisted holomorphic vector bundles are equivalent over compact Gauduchon manifolds. As its application, we show that the Bogomolov type inequality is also valid for a semi-stable twisted holomorphic vector bundle.
This paper is intended as the first step of a programme aiming to prove in the long run the long-conjectured closedness under holomorphic deformations of compact complex manifolds that are bimeromorphically equivalent to compact Kähler manifolds, known as Fujiki {\it class} ${\cal C}$ manifolds. Our main idea is to explore the link between the {\it class} ${\cal C}$ property and the closed positive currents of bidegree $(1,\,1)$ that the manifold supports, a fact leading to the study of semi-continuity properties under deformations of the complex structure of the dual cones of cohomology class…
In a paper by Angella, Otal, Ugarte, and Villacampa, the authors conjectured that on a compact Hermitian manifold, if a Gauduchon connection other than Chern or Strominger is Kähler-like, then the Hermitian metric must be Kähler. They also conjectured that if two Gauduchon connections are both Kähler-like, then the metric must be Kähler. In this paper, we discuss some partial answers to the first conjecture, and give a proof to the second conjecture. In the process, we discovered an interesting `duality' phenomenon amongst Gauduchon connections, which seems to be intimately tied to the questio…
In 1984, Gauduchon considered the functional of $L^2$-norm of his torsion $1$-form on a compact Hermitian manifold. He obtained the Euler-Lagrange equation for this functional, and showed that in dimension $2$ the critical metrics must be balanced (namely with vanishing torsion $1$-form). In this note we extend his result to higher dimensions, and show that critical metrics are balanced in all dimensions. We also consider the $L^2$-norm of the full Chern torsion, and show by examples that there are critical points of this functional that are not Kähler.
We complete the classification of compact Hermitian manifolds admitting a flat Gauduchon connection. In particular, we establish a conjecture of Yang and Zheng, showing that apart from the cases of a flat Chern or Bismut connection, such manifolds are Kähler. More generally, we prove the same result holds when the flatness assumption is replaced by the so-called Kähler-like condition, proving a conjecture of Angella, Otal, Ugarte and Villacampa. We also treat the non-compact case.
We prove that on any compact complex manifold one can find Gauduchon metrics with prescribed volume form. This is equivalent to prescribing the Chern-Ricci curvature of the metrics, and thus solves a conjecture of Gauduchon from 1984.

We study compact almost complex manifolds admitting a Hermitian metric satisfying an integral condition involving $\overline \partial$-harmonic $(0,1)$-forms. We prove that this integral condition is automatically satisfied, if the Hermitian metric on the compact almost complex manifold is strongly Gauduchon. Under the further assumption that the almost complex structure is integrable, we show that the integral condition for a Gauduchon metric is equivalent to be strongly Gauduchon. In particular, a compact complex surface with a Gauduchon metric satisfying the integral condition is automatica…
We pursuit the research line proposed in \cite{YZ-Gflat} about the classification of Hermitian manifolds whose $s$-Gauduchon connection $\nabla^s =(1-\frac{s}{2})\nabla^c + \frac{s}{2}\nabla^b$ is flat, where $s \in \mathbb{R}$ and $\nabla^c$ and $\nabla^b$ are the Chern and the Bismut connections, respectively. We focus on Lie groups equipped with a left invariant Hermitian structure. Such spaces provide an important class of Hermitian manifolds in various contexts and are often a valuable vehicle for testing new phenomena in complex and Hermitian geometry. More precisely, we consider a conne…
Let $(M,J,g,ω)$ be a complete Hermitian manifold of complex dimension $n\ge2$. Let $1\le p\le n-1$ and assume that $ω^{n-p}$ is $(\partial+\overline{\partial})$-bounded. We prove that, if $ψ$ is an $L^2$ and $d$-closed $(p,0)$-form on $M$, then $ψ=0$. In particular, if $M$ is compact, we derive that if the Aeppli class of $ω^{n-p}$ vanishes, then $H^{p,0}_{BC}(M)=0$. As a special case, if $M$ admits a Gauduchon metric $ω$ such that the Aeppli class of $ω^{n-1}$ vanishes, then $H^{1,0}_{BC}(M)=0$.
We apply the existence and special properties of Gauduchon metrics to give several applications. The first one is concerned with the implications of algebro-geometric nature under the existence of a Hermitian metric with nonnegative holomorphic sectional curvature. The second one is to show the non-existence of holomorphic sections on Hermitian vector bundles under certain conditions. The third one is to give a restriction on the $\partial\bar{\partial}$-closedness of some real $(n-1,n-1)$-forms on compact complex manifolds.
In this paper, we analyze the asymptotic behaviour of the Hermitian-Yang-Mills flow over a compact non-Kähler manifold $(X,g)$ with the Hermitian metric $g$ satisfying the Gauduchon and Astheno-Kähler condition.
We study the interplay between the following types of special non-Kähler Hermitian metrics on compact complex manifolds: it locally conformally Kähler, $k$-Gauduchon, balanced and locally conformally balanced and prove that a locally conformally Kähler compact nilmanifold carrying a balanced or a $k$-Gauduchon metric is necessarily a torus. Combined with a result of Fino and Vezzoni from 2016, this leads to the fact that a compact complex 2-step nilmanifold endowed with whichever two of the following types of metrics: balanced, pluriclosed and locally conformally Kähler is a torus. Moreover, w…
We investigate connections between the sGG property of compact complex manifolds, defined in earlier work by the second author and L. Ugarte by the requirement that every Gauduchon metric be strongly Gauduchon, and a possible degeneration of the Frölicher spectral sequence. In the first approach that we propose, we prove a partial degeneration at $E_2$ and we introduce a positivity cone in the $E_2$-cohomology of bidegree $(n-2,\,n)$ of the manifold that we then prove to behave lower semicontinuously under deformations of the complex structure. In the second approach that we propose, we introd…
We prove that a compact lcK manifold with holomorphic Lee vector field is Vaisman provided that either the Lee field has constant norm or the metric is Gauduchon (i.e., the Lee field is divergence-free). We also give examples of compact lcK manifolds with holomorphic Lee vector field which are not Vaisman.
We propose a new approach to the Mirror Symmetry Conjecture in a form suitable to possibly non-Kähler compact complex manifolds whose canonical bundle is trivial. We apply our methods by proving that the Iwasawa manifold $X$, a well-known non-Kähler compact complex manifold of dimension $3$, is its own mirror dual to the extent that its Gauduchon cone, replacing the classical Kähler cone that is empty in this case, corresponds to what we call the local universal family of essential deformations of $X$. These are obtained by removing from the Kuranishi family the two "superfluous" dimensions of…
