In this paper we investigate the existence of $H^1$-uniform attractor and long-time behavior of solutions to non-autonomous micropolar fluid equations in three dimensional cylindrical domains. In our considerations we take into account that existence of global and strong solutions is proved under the assumption on smallness of change of the initial and the external data along the axis of the cylinder. Therefore, we refine the concept of uniform attractor by adopting the idea which was proposed by J.W. Cholewa and T. Dłotko in \cite{chol1}.
The micropolar equations are a useful generalization of the classical Navier-Stokes model for fluids with micro-structure. We prove the existence of global and strong solutions to these equations in cylindrical domains in $\mathbb{R}^3$. We do not impose any restrictions on the magnitude of the initial and external data but we require that they cannot change in the $x_3$-direction too fast.
We examine the so-called micropolar equations in three dimensional cylindrical domains under Navier boundary conditions. These equations form a generalization of the ordinary incompressible Navier-Stokes model, taking the structure of the fluid into account. We prove that under certain smallness assumption on the rate of change of the initial data and the external data there exists a unique and strong solution for any finite time $T$.
In this work, we prove a regularity criterion for micropolar fluid flows in terms of the one partial derivative of the velocity in Morrey-Campanato space.
In this paper, we construct a class global large solution to the 3D incompressible micropolar fluid system. Precisely speaking, by choosing a special initial data which can be arbitrarily large in $\dot{B}^{-1}_{\infty,\infty}$, the system has a unique global solution.
In this article, we study regularity criteria for the 3D micropolar fluid equations in terms of one partial derivative of the velocity. It is proved that if \begin{equation*} \int^{T}_{0}\|\partial_{3}u\|^{\frac{2}{1-r}}_{\dot{B}^{-r}_{\infty,\infty}} dt<\infty \quad \text{with} \quad 0< r<1, \end{equation*} then, the solutions of the micropolar fluid equations actually are smooth on $(0, T)$. This improves and extends many previous results.
We study a three-dimensional, incompressible, viscous, micropolar fluid with anisotropic microstructure on a periodic domain. Subject to a uniform microtorque, this system admits a unique nontrivial equilibrium. We prove that this equilibrium is nonlinearly unstable. Our proof relies on a nonlinear bootstrap instability argument which uses control of higher-order norms to identify the instability at the $L^2$-level.
In this paper we study the existence of solutions to a steady system that describes the motion of a micropolar electrorheological fluid. The constitutive relations for the stress tensors belong to the class of generalized Newtonian fluids. The analysis of this particular problem leads naturally to weighted Sobolev spaces. By deploying the Lipschitz truncation technique, we establish the existence of solutions without additional assumptions on the electric field.
In the analysis of PDEs, regularity of often measured in terms of Sobolev, H{ö}lder, Besov or Lipschitz spaces, etc. However, sometimes a gain of regularity can also be expressed just in terms of Lebesgue spaces, by passing from a singular setting to a less singular one. In this article we will obtain a gain of integrability for weak solutions of the micropolar fluid equations using as general framework Morrey spaces, which is a very useful language to study regularity in PDEs. An interesting point is that the two variables of the micropolar fluid equations can be studied separately.
In this paper, we consider the three dimensional Cauchy problem of the compressible micropolar viscous flows, we prove the existence of unique global classical solution for smooth initial data with small initial energy but possibly large oscillations, the initial density may allowed to contain vacuum states. Furthermore, the large-time behavior of the solution is obtained.
In this paper we study the magneto-micropolar fluid equations in $\R^3$, prove the existence of the strong solution with initial data in $H^s(\R^3)$ for $s> {3/2}$, and set up its blow-up criterion. The tool we mainly use is Littlewood-Paley decomposition, by which we obtain a Beale-Kato-Majda type blow-up criterion for smooth solution $(u,ω,b)$ which relies on the vorticity of velocity $\nabla\times u$ only.
We prove the global well-posedness for the 3-D micropolar fluid system in the critical Besov spaces by making a suitable transformation to the solutions and using the Fourier localization method, especially combined with a new $L^p$ estimate for the Green matrix to the linear system of the transformed equation. This result allows to construct global solutions for a class of highly oscillating initial data of Cannone's type. Meanwhile, we analyze the long behavior of the solutions and get some decay estimates.
In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the initial boundary value problem for the one-dimensional compressible isentropic micropolar fluid model in a half line \mathbb{R}_{+}:=(0,\infty). We mainly investigates the unique existence, the asymptotic stability and convergence rates of stationary solutions to the outflow problem for this model. We obtain the convergence rates of global solutions towards corresponding stationary solutions if the initial perturbation belongs to the weighted Sobolev space. The proof is based on the weighted energy method by taking into accoun…
We investigate global well-posedness to the Cauchy problem of three-dimensional compressible viscous and heat-conducting micropolar fluid equations with zero density at infinity. By delicate energy estimates, we establish global existence and uniqueness of strong solutions under some smallness condition depending only on the parameters appeared in the system and the initial mass. In particular, the initial mass can be arbitrarily large. This improves our previous work [23]. Moreover, we also generalize the result [13] to the case that vacuum is allowed at infinity.
In this paper we concern ourselves with an incompressible, viscous, isotropic, and periodic micropolar fluid. We find that in the absence of forcing and microtorquing there exists an infinite family of well-behaved solutions, which we call potential microflows, in which the fluid velocity vanishes identically, but the angular velocity of the microstructure is conservative and obeys a linear parabolic system. We then prove that nearby each potential microflow, the nonlinear equations of motion are well-posed globally-in-time, and solutions are stable. Finally, we prove that in the absence of fo…
We are concerned with compressible magneto-micropolar fluid equations (1.1)-(1.2). The global existence and large time behaviour of solutions near a constant state to the magneto-micropolar-Navier-Stokes-Poisson (MMNSP) system is investigated in $\mathbb{R}^3$. By a refined energy method, the global existence is established under the assumption that the $H^3$ norm of the initial data is small, but the higher order derivatives can be large. If the initial data belongs to homogeneous Sobolev spaces or homogeneous Besov spaces, we prove the optimal time decay rates of the solution and its higher …
Two phase micropolar fluid flow with unmatched densities modeled by Navier--Stokes--Cahn--Hilliard systems: Local strong well-posedness and consistency estimates
In this paper, we study the existence of weak solutions to a steady system that describes the motion of a micropolar electrorheological fluid. The constitutive relations for the stress tensors belong to the class of generalized Newtonian fluids. The analysis of this particular problem leads naturally to weighted variable exponent Sobolev spaces. We establish the existence of solutions for a material function $\hat p$ that is $\log$--Hölder continuous and an electric field $\mathbf{E}$ for that $\vert\mathbf{E}\vert^2$ is bounded and smooth. Note that these conditions do not imply that the vari…
We are concerned with the large time behavior of solutions to the Cauchy problem of the one-dimensional compressible micropolar fluid model without viscosity, where the far-field states of the initial data are prescribed to be different. If the corresponding Riemann problem of the compressible Euler system admits a contact discontinuity and two rarefaction waves solutions, we show that for such a non-viscous model, the combination of the viscous contact wave with two rarefaction waves is time-asymptotically stable provided that the strength of the composite wave and the initial perturbation ar…

We characterize the $L^2$ decay rate of solutions to the 3D magneto-micropolar system in terms of the decay character of the initial datum. Due to a linear damping term, the micro-rotational field has a faster decay rate. We also address the asymptotic behaviour of solutions by comparing them to solutions to the linear part. As a result of the linear damping, the difference between the micro-rotational field and its linear part also decays faster. As part of the proofs of these results, we prove estimates for the derivatives of solutions which might be of independent interest.
Motivated by lubrication problems, we consider a micropolar uid ow in a 2D domain with a rough and free boundary. We assume that the thickness and the roughness are both of order 0 < " << 1. We prove the existence and uniqueness of a solution of this problem for any value of " and we establish some a priori estimates. Then we use the two-scale convergence technique to derive the limit problem when " tends to zero. Moreover we show that the limit velocity and micro-rotation elds are uniquely determined via auxiliary well-posed problems and the limit pressure is given as the unique solution of a…

We study the Cauchy problem of the incompressible micropolar fluid system in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$. In a recent work of the first author and Jihong Zhao \cite{ZhuZ18}, it is proved that the Cauchy problem of the incompressible micropolar fluid system is locally well-posed in the Fourier--Besov spaces $\F^{2-\frac{3}{p}}_{p,r}$ for $1<p\leq\infty$ and $1\leq r<\infty$, and globally well-posed in these spaces with small initial data. In this work we consider the critical case $p=1$. We show that this problem is locally well-posed in $\F^{-1}_{1,r}$ for $1\leq r\leq 2$, and is globally well-posed in t…
This paper considers the dynamical behavior of solutions of constitutive systems for 1D compressible viscous and heat-conducting micropolar fluids. With proper constraints on initial data, we prove the existence of global attractors in generalized Sobolev spaces $H^{(1)}_δ$ and $H^{(2)}_δ$.
In this paper the regularity of weak solutions and the blow-up criteria of smooth solutions to the micropolar fluid equations on three dimension space are studied in the Lorentz space $L^{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^3)$. We obtain that if $u\in L^q(0,T;L^{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^3))$ for $\frac2q+\frac3p\le 1$ with $3<p\le \infty$; or $\nabla u\in L^q(0,T;L^{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^3))$ for $\frac2q+\frac3p\le 2$ with $\frac32<p\le \infty$; or the pressure $P\in L^q(0,T;L^{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^3))$ for $\frac2q+\frac3p\le 2$ with $\frac32<p\le \infty$; or $\nabla P\in L^q(0,T;L^{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^3))$ f…

This paper is devoted to describe the finite-dimensionality of a two-dimensional micropolar fluid flow with periodic boundary conditions. We define the notions of determining modes and nodes and estimate the number of them, we also estimate the dimension of the global attractor. Finally we compare our results with analogous results for Navier-Stokes equation.
Global classical solution for three-dimensional compressible isentropic magneto-micropolar fluid equations with Coulomb force and slip boundary condition in bounded domains
In this paper the long time behavior of the micropolar fluid equations energy on three dimensional space are studied. We show that $ \| (u,w)(\cdot,t) \|_{{L^{2}(\mathbb{R}^{3})}} \to 0 $ as $t \to \infty$ for Leray-Hopf's global weak solutions in inviscid vortex case. Moreover, when the vortex viscosity are considered, i.e., $χ>0$, we obtain a (faster) decay for micro-rotational field: $ \| w (\cdot,t) \|_{{L^{2}(\mathbb{R}^{3})}} = o(t^{-1/2})$.
We consider the abstract initial value problem for the system of evolution equations which describe motion of micropolar fluids with heat conduction in a bounded domain. This problem has uniquely a mild solution locally in time for general initial data, and globally in time for small initial data. Moreover, a mild solution of this problem can be a strong or classical solution under appropriate assumptions for initial data. We prove the above properties by the theory of analytic semigroups on Banach spaces.
We develop here a particular version of the partial regularity theory for the Magneto-Micropolar equations (MMP) where a perturbation term is added. These equations are used in some special cases, such as in the study of the evolution of liquid cristals or polymers, where the classical Navier-Stokes equations are not an accurate enough model. The incompressible Magneto-Micropolar system is composed of three coupled equations: the first one is based in the Navier-Stokes system, the second one considers mainly the magnetic field while the last equation introduces the microrotation field represen…
This article examines the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions to the d-dimensional micropolar equations ($d=2$ or $d=3$) with general fractional dissipation $(-Δ)^αu$ and $(-Δ)^βw$. The micropolar equations with standard Laplacian dissipation model fluids with microstructure. The generalization to include fractional dissipation allows simultaneous study of a family of equations and is relevant in some physical circumstances. We establish that, when $α\ge \frac12$ and $β\ge \frac12$, any initial data $(u_0, w_0)$ in the critical Besov space $u_0\in B^{1+\frac{d}{2}-2α}_{2,1}(\mathbb R^d)…
