In this work, we recalculate the charmless pure annihilation decays $B_s\to π^+ π^-$ and $B^0 \to K^+ K^-$ by using the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach, and compare the pQCD predictions with currently available experimental measurements. We used the same set of relevant input parameters and wave functions to make the calculations for the considered decay modes and found the following results: (a) one can provide a consistent pQCD interpretation for both the measured $Br(B_s^0 \to π^+ π^-)$ and $Br(B_d^0 \to K^+ K^-)$ simultaneously; (b) the pQCD predictions for $Br(B_s^0 \to π^+π^-)$ obtained by different authors are well consistent with each other; (c) our new pQCD prediction for $Br(B_d^0 \to K^+K^-)$ agree very well with the measured values from CDF and LHCb Collaboration; and (d) the CP-violating asymmetry ${\cal A}_{CP}(B_d^0 \to K^+K^-) \approx 16%$, which is large and may be detected at the LHCb experiment.
In this paper, we calculated the branching ratios and direct CP violation of the four $B\to Kπ$ decays with the inclusion of all currently known next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. We found that (a) Besides the 10% enhancement from the NLO vertex corrections, the quark-loops and magnetic penguins, the NLO contributions to the form factors can provide an additional $\sim 15%$ enhancement to the branching ratios, and lead to a very good agreement with the data; (b) The NLO pQCD predictions are $\acp^{dir}(B^0\to K^+π^-)=(-6.5…
The rare decays $B_s^0\to D^\pm π^\mp$ and $\bar B_s^0\to D^\mp π^\pm$ can occur only via annihilation type diagrams in the standard model. In this paper, we calculate branching ratios of these decays in perturbative QCD approach ignoring soft final state interaction. From our calculation, we find that their branching ratios are at $\mathcal{O}(10^{-6})$ with large CP asymmetry, which may be measured in LHC-b experiment in future.
Based on the assumption of two-quark structure of the scalar meson $K_0^*(1430)$, we calculate the CP-averaged branching ratios for $B \to K_0^*(1430) \etap$ decays in the framework of the perturbative QCD (pQCD) approach here. We perform the evaluations in two scenarios for the scalar meson spectrum. We find that: (a) the pQCD predictions for $Br(B \to K_0^*(1430) η^{(\prime)})$ is $10^{-5} - 10^{-6}$, basically agree with the data within large theoretical uncertainty; (b) the agreement between the pQCD predictions and the data in the scenario I is better than that in the scenario II, which c…
The precision measurements of the cosmic microwave background power spectrum put a strong constraint on the dark matter annihilation cross section since the electromagnetic energy injection by the dark matter annihilation affects the ionization history of the universe. In this paper, we update our previous simulation code for calculating the ionization history with the effect of dark matter annihilation by including Helium interactions and improving the precision of calculations. We give an updated constraint on the annihilation cross section and mass of dark matter using the modified RECFAST …
We study the effects of dark-matter annihilation during the epoch of big-bang nucleosynthesis on the primordial abundances of light elements. We improve the calculation of the light-element abundances by taking into account the effects of anti-nucleons emitted by the annihilation of dark matter and the interconversion reactions of neutron and proton at inelastic scatterings of energetic nucleons. Comparing the theoretical prediction of the primordial light-element abundances with the latest observational constraints, we derive upper bounds on the dark-matter pair-annihilation cross section. Im…
We investigate the branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries of $B_c^+\to D^0π^+$ and $B_c^+\to D^+π^0$ decays in the PQCD approach. All the diagrams with emission topology or annihilation topology are calculated strictly. A branching ratio of $10^{-6}$ and $10^{-7}$ for $B_c^+\to D^0π^+$ and $B_c^+\to D^+π^0$ decay is predicted, respectively. Because of the different weak phase and strong phase from penguin operator and two kinds of tree operator contributions, we predict a possible large direct CP violation: $A^{\rm dir}_{cp} (B_c^\pm \to D^0 π^\pm)\approx -50%$ and $A^{\rm dir}_{cp} (B_c^\…
We study the radiative charmless $B_{(s)}\to V(A)γ$ decays in perturbative QCD (pQCD) approach to the leading order in $α_s$ (here $V$ and $A$ denotes vector mesons and two kinds of axial-vector mesons: $^3P_1$ and $^1P_1$ states, respectively.). Our predictions of branching ratios are consistent with the current available experimental data. We update all $B_{(s)}\to V$ form factors and give the predictions for $B\to A$ form factors using the recent hadronic inputs. In addition to the dominant factorizable spectator diagrams, which is form factor like, we also calculate the so-called ``power s…
Various new measurements in charmless $B_{u,d,s}\to PP$ modes, where $P$ is a low lying pseudoscalar meson, are reported by Belle and LHCb. These include the rates of $B^0\toπ^0π^0$, $ηπ^0$, $B_s\toη'η'$, $B^0\to K^+K^-$ and $B^0_s\toπ^+π^-$ decays. Some of these modes are highly suppressed and are among the rarest $B$ decays. Direct CP asymmetries on various modes are constantly updated. It is well known that direct CP asymmetries and rates of suppressed modes are sensitive to final state interaction (FSI). As new measurements are reported and more data will be collected, it is interesting an…
It is very important to know the strength of annihilation contribution in B charmless nonleptonic decays. $\bar{B}_{s}\to π^{+}π^{-}$ process could serve a good probe of the strength. We have studied the process in QCD factorization framework. Using a gluon mass scale indicted by the studies of infrared behavior of gluon propagators to avoid enhancements in the soft end point regions, we find that the CP averaged branching ratio is about $1.24\times 10^{-7}$, the direct CP asymmetry $C_{ππ}$ is about -0.05, while the mixing-induced CP asymmetry quite large with the value $S_{ππ}$=0.18. The pro…
Two-body charmless hadronic $B_c$ decays involving a light $1^3\!P_2$-tensor($T$) meson are investigated for the first time within the framework of perturbative QCD(pQCD) at leading order, in which the other meson is the lightest pseudoscalar($P$) or vector($V$) state. The concerned processes can only occur through the pure weak annihilation topology in the standard model. We predict the CP-averaged branching ratios and polarization fractions of those considered decays in Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa(CKM) favored and suppressed modes. Phenomenologically, several modes$-$such as the $B_c \to K_2^*…
We study the {\it CP}-averaged branching fractions and the {\it CP}-violating asymmetries in the pure annihilation decays of $B_s^0 \to a_0^+ a_0^-$ and $B_d^0 \to K_0^{*+} K_0^{*-}$, where $a_0\;[K_0^*]$ denotes the scalar $a_0(980)$ and $a_0(1450)$ [$K_0^*(800) ( {\rm or}\; κ)$ and $K_0^*(1430)$], with the perturbative QCD factorization approach under the assumption of two-quark structure for the $a_0$ and $K_0^*$ states. The numerical results show that the branching ratios of the $B_d^0 \to K_0^{*+} K_0^{*-}$ decays are in the order of $10^{-6}$, while the decay rates of the $B_s^0 \to a_0^…
Motivated by the recent measurements of non-leptonic $\bar{B}_s^0$ decays by CDF and LHCb collaborations, especially the large ${\cal B}(\bar{B}_s^0\toπ^+π^-)$, we revisit the hard spectator and annihilation corrections in $\bar{B}_s^0$ decays within QCD factorization approach with two schemes for the possible parameters for the known end-point divergence appeared in the estimation of the hard spectator and annihilation diagrams. The first one is to conservatively estimate the possible contributions by parameterization (scheme I); another one uses an infrared finite gluon propagator (scheme II…
We calculate the branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries for $B_s^0 \to π^0 η^{(\prime)}$ decays in the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach here. We not only calculate the usual factorizable contributions, but also evaluate the non-factorizable and annihilation type contributions. The pQCD predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios are $BR(B_s^0 \to π^0 η) \approx 0.86 \times 10^{-7}$ and $BR(B_s^0 \to π^0 η') \approx 1.86 \times 10^{-7}$. The pQCD predictions for the CP-violating asymmetries are $A_{CP}^{dir}(π^0 η)\sim -4.5 % $, $A_{CP}^{dir}(π^0 η')\sim -9.1% $, $A_{C…
We revisit the evolution of generalised parton distributions (GPDs) in momentum space. We formulate the evolution kernels at one-loop in perturbative QCD (pQCD) in a form suitable for numerical implementation and that allows for an accurate study of their properties. This leads to the first open-source implementation of GPD evolution equations able to cover the entire kinematic region and allowing for heavy-quark-threshold crossings. The numerical implementation of the GPD evolution equations is publicly accessible through the APFEL++ evolution library and is available within the PARTONS frame…
We compute the single bremsstrahlung emission associated with the pair annihilation of spin-0 particles into electrons and positrons, via the t-channel exchange of a heavy fermion. We compare our result with the work of Beacom et al. . Unlike what is stated in the literature, we show that the Bremsstrahlung cross section is not necessarily given by the tree-level annihilation cross section (for a generalized kinematics) times a factor related to the emission of a soft photon. Such a factorization appears only in the soft photon limit or in the approximation where the masses of the particles in…
In this article, we calculate the branching ratios of $B \to K_0^*(1430) K$ decays by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) approach at leading order. We perform the evaluations in the two scenarios for the scalar meson spectrum. We find that (a) the leading order pQCD predictions for the branching ratio $Br(B^+ \to K^+ \bar{K_0^*}(1430)^0)$ which is in good agreement with the experimental upper limit in both scenarios, while the pQCD predictions for other considered $B \to K_0^*(1430) K$ decay modes are also presented and will be tested by the LHC experiments; (b) the annihilation contributio…
We study the $B(B_{s})\rightarrow D_{(s)}(\bar{D}_{(s)})\,T$ and $D_{(s)}^{\ast}(\bar{D}_{(s)}^{*})\,T$ decays in perturbative QCD approach, where T denotes a light tensor meson. In addition to the branching ratios, we also give predictions to the polarization fractions for the $D^{*}_{(s)}(\bar{D}_{(s)}^{*})T$ decays. For those decays with a tensor meson emitted, the factorizable emission diagrams do not contribute because of lorentz covariance considerations. In order to give the predictions to these decay channels, it is necessary to go beyond the naive factorization to calculate the nonfac…
Motivated by the recent measurement of the upper limit of ${B}^0 \to J/ψD$ branching ratio, which is important in accounting for the soft $J/ψ$ production in B decays, we investigate ${B}^0 \to J/ψD^{(\star)}$ and $η_c D^{(\star)}$ decays in perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization. Being pure annihilation (W-exchange) decays, these branching ratios are estimated to be at the order of $10^{-5} \sim 10^{-7}$, which are just at the corner of being observable at the $B$ factories. The measurements of these decay channels may help us to understand the QCD dynamics in the correspondin…
Within the framework of perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization, we studied 40 $B_c \to DS$ decay modes in the leading order and leading power, where "S" stands for the light scalar meson. Under two different scenarios (S1 and S2) for the description of scalar mesons, we explored the branching fractions and related CP asymmetries. As a heavy meson consisting of two heavy quarks with different flavor, the light-cone distribution amplitude of $B_c$ meson has not been well defined, so the $δ$-function is adopted. The contributions of emission diagrams are suppressed by the vector d…
We discuss application of the physical QCD effective charge $α_V$, defined via the heavy-quark potential, in perturbative calculations at next-to-leading order. When coupled with the Brodsky-Lepage-Mackenzie prescription for fixing the renormalization scales, the resulting series are automatically and naturally scale and scheme independent, and represent unambiguous predictions of perturbative QCD. We consider in detail such commensurate scale relations for the $e^+e^-$ annihilation ratio $R_{e^+e^-}$ and the Bjorken sum rule. In both cases the improved predictions are in excellent agreement w…
We make a detailed study on the typical production channel of double charmoniums, $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$, at the center-of-mass collision energy $\sqrt{s}=10.58$ GeV. The key component of the process is the form factor $F_{\rm VP}(q^2)$, which has been calculated within the QCD light-cone sum rules (LCSR). To improve the accuracy of the derived LCSR, we keep the $J/ψ$ light-cone distribution amplitude up to twist-4 accuracy. Total cross sections for $e^+e^-\to J/ψ+η_c$ at three typical factorization scales are $σ|_{μ_s} = 22.53^{+3.46}_{-3.49}~{\rm fb}$, $σ|_{μ_k} = 21.98^{+3.35}_{-3.38}~{\rm fb}…
We compute the amplitudes for non-leptonic annihilation decays of $B$ mesons into two particles within the pQCD collinear approach. The end point divergences are regulated with the help of an infrared finite gluon propagator characterized by a non-perturbative dynamical gluon mass consistent with recent lattice simulations. The divergences at twist-3 are regulated by a dynamical quark mass. Our results fit quite well the existent data of $B^0\to D_s^-K^+$ and $B^0\to D_s^{-*}\bar{K}^+$ for the expected range of dynamical gluon masses. We also make predictions for the rare decays $\bar{B}^0\to …
By employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach, we calculated the branching ratios, CP-violating asymmetries, the longitudinal and transverse polarization fractions and other physical observables of the thirteen charmless hadronic $\bar{B}^0_s \to V V $ decays with the inclusion of all currently known next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions. We focused on the examination of the effects of all those currently known NLO contributions and found that: (a) for the measured decays $\bar{ B}_s^0 \to ϕϕ, K^{*0} ϕ,\bar K^{*0} K^{*0}$ and $ρ^0 ϕ$, the NLO contributions can provide $\s…
Within the framework of QCD factorization (QCDF), we consider two different types of power correction effects in order to resolve the CP puzzles and rate deficit problems with penguin-dominated two-body decays of B mesons and color-suppressed tree-dominated $π^0π^0$ and $ρ^0π^0$ modes: penguin annihilation and soft corrections to the color-suppressed tree amplitude. We emphasize that the electroweak penguin solution to the $B\to Kπ$ CP puzzle via New Physics is irrelevant for solving the CP and rate puzzles related to tree-dominated decays. While some channels e.g. $K^-π^+,K^-ρ^0,π^+π^-,ρ^\pmπ…
In Perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach we study the direct $CP$ violation in the pure annihilation decay process of $\bar{B}^0_{s}\rightarrowπ^+π^-π^+π^-$ induced by the $ρ$ and $ω$ double resonance effect. Generally, the $CP$ violation is small in the pure annihilation type decay process. However, we find that the $CP$ violation can be enhanced by double $ρ-ω$ interference when the invariant masses of the $π^+π^-$ pairs are in the vicinity of the $ω$ resonance. For the decay process of $\bar{B}^0_{s}\rightarrowπ^+π^-π^+π^-$, the maximum $CP$ violation can reach 28.64{\%}.
The perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach based on $k_T$ factorization has made a great achievement for the QCD calculation of the hadronic B decays. Regulating the endpoint divergence by the transverse momentum of quarks in the propagators, one can do the perturbation calculation for kinds of diagrams including the annihilation type diagrams. In this paper, we review the current status of PQCD factorization calculation of two-body charmless $B\to PP, PV, VV$ decays up to the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections. two new power suppressed terms in decaying amplitudes are also taken into accou…
In the standard model the two-body charmless hadronic $B_c$ meson decays can occur via annihilation diagrams only. In this work, we studied the $B_c \to PP, PV/VP,VV$ decays by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. From our calculations, we find that (a) the pQCD predictions for the branching ratios of the considered $B_c$ decays are in the range of $10^{-6}$ to $10^{-8}$; (b) for $B_c \to PV/VP, VV$ decays, the branching ratios of $ΔS= 0$ decays are much larger than those of $ΔS =1$ ones because the different Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa(CKM) factors are involved; (c) ana…
A detailed analysis of the open charm effects on the decays of $J/ψ(ψ^\prime)\to VP$ is presented, where $V$ stands for light vector meson and $P$ for light pseudoscalar meson. These are the channels that the so-called "12% rule" of perturbative QCD (pQCD) is obviously violated. Nevertheless, they are also the channels that violate the pQCD helicity selection rule (HSR) at leading order. In this work, we put constraints on the electromagnetic (EM) contribution, short-distance contribution from the $c\bar{c}$ annihilation at the wavefunction origin, and long-distance contribution from the open …
Using the PQCD method we calculate the W-exchange and the W-annihilation processes of B mesons, which in general involve a charm quark or anti-quark in the final state. The nonvanishing amplitudes of these processes are found to be suppressed by a factor of $m_c/m_b$ compared to the tree or the time-like penguin processes, but some of them are within the reach of observation at the future B-factories, and $\bar B_d^0 \to D^+_s K^-$ whose branching ratio is found to be $6.6 \times 10^{-6}$ can be found even before the B-factory era. Comparisons with the results based on the BSW model are also g…
By employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach, we made a systematic investigation for the CP-averaged branching ratios and the CP-violating asymmetries of the thirteen $\bar{B}^0_s \to PP $ decays ( here $P=(π,K, η, η^{\prime})$) with the inclusion of all currently known next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions, and compared our results with the measured values or the theoretical predictions from other different approaches. We focused on the examination of the effects of the NLO contributions and found the following points: (a) for $\bar{B}_s^0 \to (K^0 \bar{K}^0, K^+ K^-, η…
We show that in the PQCD approach the $B\to ρ(ω) K$ decays display not only the dynamical penguin enhancement, the mechanism responsible for the large branching ratios (BRs) of $B\to ϕK$ decays, but also the importance of annihilation contributions. We find that the CP asymmetries (CPAs) of $B\to ρ^{\pm}K^{\mp}$, $B^{\mp}\to ρ^0(ω)K^{\mp}$ (class I) are all over 50%.
Antimatter cosmic-rays are used to probe new phenomena in physics, including dark matter annihilation. We use the cosmic-ray positron fraction spectrum by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer, to search for such an annihilation signal in the Galaxy. We focus on dark matter with mass between 5 and 120 GeV, producing high-energy electrons and positrons. In these cosmic-ray energies the interplay of multiple astrophysical sources and phenomena, makes this search highly sensitive to the underlying astrophysical background assumptions. We use a vast public library of astrophysical models for the cosmic-…
We calculate the branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries for $B^0 \to π^0 η^{(\prime)}$ and $B^+\to π^+ η^{(\prime)}$ decays in the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach here. We not only calculate the usual factorizable contributions, but also evaluate the non-factorizable and annihilation type contributions. Besides the current-current operators, the contributions from the QCD and electroweak penguin operators are also taken into account. The pQCD results for the CP-averaged branching ratios are $Br(B^+ \to π^+ η) \approx 4.1 \times 10^{-6}$, $Br(B^+ \to π^+ η^\prime) \approx …
Through data analysis, we present new sets of nonperturbative fragmentation functions (FFs) for $Λ_c^+$ baryon both at leading and next-to-leading order (NLO) and, for the first time, at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in the minimal subtraction factorization scheme with five massless quarks. The FFs are determined by fitting all available data of inclusive single $Λ_c^+$ baryon production in $e^+e^-$ annihilation taken by the OPAL Collaboration at CERN LEP1 and Belle Collaboration at KEKB. We also estimate the uncertainties in the $Λ_c^+$ FFs as well as in the corresponding observables. …
While Primordial Black Holes (PBHs) with masses $M_{\rm PBH} \gtrsim 10^{-11} \, M_\odot$ cannot comprise the entirety of dark matter, the existence of even a small population of these objects can have profound astrophysical consequences. A sub-dominant population of PBHs will efficiently accrete dark matter particles before matter-radiation equality, giving rise to high-density dark matter spikes. We consider here the scenario in which dark matter is comprised primarily of Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) with a small sub-dominant contribution coming from PBHs, and revisit the con…
In this work, we calculate the {\it CP}-averaged branching ratios and the polarization fractions of the charmless hadronic $B_c \to A_2 A_3$ decays within the framework of perturbative QCD(pQCD) approach, where $A$ is either a light $^3P_1$ or $^1P_1$ axial-vector meson. These thirty two decay modes can occur through the annihilation topology only. Based on the perturbative calculations and phenomenological analysis, we find the following results: (a) the branching ratios of the considered thirty two $B_c\to A_2 A_3$ decays are in the range of $10^{-5}$ to $10^{-8}$; (b) $B_c\to a_1 b_1$, $\ov…
In this paper, we present a new analysis on the $P$-wave charmonium annihilation into two photons up to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD corrections by using the principle of maximum conformality (PMC). The conventional perturbative QCD prediction shows strong scale dependence and deviates largely from the BESIII measurements. After applying the PMC, we obtain a more precise scale-invariant pQCD prediction, which also agrees with the BESIII measurements within errors, i.e. $R={Γ_{γγ}(χ_{c2})} /{Γ_{γγ}(χ_{c0})}=0.246\pm0.013$, where the error is for $Δα_s(M_τ)=\pm0.016$. By further cons…
The flavor and spin structure for the quark distributions of the $Λ$-baryon is studied in a perturbative QCD (pQCD) analysis and in the SU(6) quark-diquark model, and then applied to calculate the $Λ$-polarization of semi-inclusive $Λ$ production in $e^+e^-$-annihilation near the $Z$-pole. It is found that the quark-diquark model gives very good description of the available experimental data. The pQCD model can also give good description of the data by taking into account the suppression of quark helicities compared to the naive SU(6) quark model spin distributions. Further information is requ…
We investigate the CP-averaged branching ratios, the polarization fractions, the relative phases, and the CP-violating asymmetries of the penguin-dominated $B \to ϕK_1(1270) $ and $ ϕK_1(1400)$ decays in the perturbative QCD(pQCD) approach, where $K_1(1270)$ and $K_1(1400)$ are believed to be the mixtures of two distinct types of axial-vector $K_{1A}(^3P_1)$ and $K_{1B}(^1P_1)$ states with different behavior, however, their mixing angle $θ_{K_1}$ is still a hot and controversial topic presently. By numerical evaluations with two different mixing angles $θ_{K_1} \sim 33^\circ$ and $58^\circ$ an…
The measured electromagnetic form factors of $Λ$ hyperon in the time-like region are significantly deviated from pQCD prediction. We attribute the non-vanishing cross section near threshold to be the contribution of below-threshold $ϕ$(2170) state, supporting its exotic structure. Above the threshold, we find significant role of a wide vector meson with the mass of around 2.34 GeV, which would be the same state present in $p\bar{p}$ annihilation reactions. As a result, we give a satisfactory description of the behavior of existing data without modifying pQCD expectation.
Hadronic charmless B decays to scalar mesons are studied within the framework of QCD factorization (QCDF). Considering two different scenarios for scalar mesons above 1 GeV, we find that the data favor the scenario in which the scalars $a_0(1450)$ and $K_0^*(1430)$ are the lowest lying $q\bar q$ bound states. This in turn implies a preferred four-quark nature for light scalars below 1 GeV. Assuming $K_0^*(1430)$ being a lowest lying $q\bar s$ state, we show that the data of $B\to K_0^*(1430)η^{(')}$ and $B\to K_0^*(1430)(ρ,ω,ϕ)$ can be accommodated in QCDF without introducing power corrections…
We study the three body radiative decay $B_s\to ϕ\bar K^0 γ$ by introducing the $ϕK$ pair distribution amplitudes (DAs) in the perturbative QCD approach. This nonperturbative inputs, the two meson DAs, is very important to simplify the calculations. Besides the dominant electromagnetic penguin operator $O_{7γ}$, the subleading contributions from chromomagnetic penguin operator $O_{8g}$, quark-loop corrections and annihilation type amplitudes are also considered. We find that the branching ratio for the decay $B_s\to ϕ\bar K^0 γ$ is about $(9.26^{+1.79+3.12+0.64}_{-1.61-3.86-0.49})\times10^{-8}…
We recalculate the branching ratio and CP asymmetry for $\bar{B}^{0} (B^{0})\to π^{0}π^{0}$ decays in the Perturbative QCD approach. In this approach, we consider all the possible diagrams including non-factorizable contributions and annihilation contributions. We obtain $Br(\bar{B}^{0} (B^{0})\to π^{0}π^{0})=(1.17_{-0.12}^{+0.11})\times 10^{-6}$. Our result is in agreement with the latest measured branching ratio of $B^{0}\toπ^{0}π^{0}$ by the Belle and HFAG Collaborations. We also predict large direct CP asymmetry and mixing CP asymmetry in $B^{0}\toπ^{0}π^{0}$ decays, which can be tested by…

Combining the up-to-date experimental information on $B\toπK, πK^{\ast}$ and $ρK$ decays, we revisit the decay rates and CP asymmetries of these decays within the framework of QCD factorization. Using an infrared finite gluon propagator of Cornwall prescription, we find that the time-like annihilation amplitude could contribute a large strong phase, while the space-like hard spectator scattering amplitude is real. Numerically, we find that all the branching ratios and most of the direct CP violations, except $A_{CP}(B^{\pm}\to K^{\pm}π^{0})$, agree with the current experimental data with an ef…
We investigate the $B_{d,s}^0 \to f_1 f_1$ decays in the framework of perturbative QCD(PQCD) approach with a referenced value $ϕ_{f_1} \sim 24^\circ$. Here, $f_1$ denotes the axial-vector mesons $f_1(1285)$ and $f_1(1420)$ with mixing angle $ϕ_{f_1}$ in the quark-flavor basis. The observables such as branching ratios, direct CP violations, and polarization fractions of the $B_s^0 \to f_1 f_1$ decays are predicted for the first time. We find that: (i) the almost pure penguin modes $B_s^0 \to f_1 f_1$ have large branching ratios in the order of $10^{-6} \sim 10^{-5}$ due to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi…
In this paper, we studied the quasi-two-body $B_c \to D_{(s)} [ ρ(770),ρ(1450),ρ(1700) \to ] ππ$ decays by employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach. The two-pion distribution amplitudes $Φ_{ππ}$ are applied to include the final-state interactions between the pion pair, while the time-like form factors $F_π(w^2)$ associated with the $P$-wave resonant states $ρ(770)$, $ρ(1450)$ and $ρ(1700)$ are extracted from the experimental data of the $e^+e^-$ annihilation. We found that: (a) the PQCD predictions for the branching ratios of the quasi-two-body $B_c \to D_{(s)} [ρ(770), ρ(1…
In this work, we investigate those $B_{c}\rightarrow D^{(*)}T$ decays in perturbative QCD approach, based on $k_T$ factorization, where T denotes a light tensor meson. For all decays considered in this work, there are no contributions from factorizable emission diagrams because the emitted meson is the tensor meson. We find that the annihilation amplitudes are dominant in these decays due to the large Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa elements, which are only calculable in the pQCD approach. The numerical results show that the predictions for the branching ratios of most decays are in the order of $10…
In this paper we calculate the branching ratios (BRs) of the 32 charmless hadronic $B_c \to A P$ decays ($A=a_1(1260),b_1(1235),K_1(1270),K_1(1400), f_1(1285),f_1(1420),h_1(1170),h_1(1380)$) by employing the perturbative QCD(pQCD) factorization approach. These considered decay channels can only occur via annihilation type diagrams in the standard model. From the numerical calculations and phenomenological analysis, we found the following results: (a) the pQCD predictions for the BRs of the considered $B_c$ decays are in the range of $10^{-6}$ to $10^{-8}$, while the CP-violating asymmetries ar…
