The goal of the paper is to describe essentially optimal cubature formulas on compact Riemannian manifolds which are exact on spaces of band- limited functions.
As a generalization of the Fourier transform, the fractional Fourier transform was introduced and has been further investigated both in theory and in applications of signal processing. We obtain a sampling theorem on shift-invariant spaces associated with the fractional Fourier transform domain. The resulting sampling theorem extends not only the classical Whittaker-Shannon-Kotelnikov sampling theorem associated with the fractional Fourier transform domain, but also extends the prior sampling theorems on shift-invariant spaces.
We prove new Pitt inequalities for the Fourier transforms with radial and non-radial weights using weighted restriction inequalities for the Fourier transform on the sphere. We also prove new Riemann-Lebesgue estimates and versions of the uncertainty principle for the Fourier transform.
We define a scalar valued Fourier transform for functions on the Heisenberg group and establish some of its basic properties like inversion formula, Plancherel theorem and Riemann-Lebesgue lemma. We also restate certain well known theorems for the group Fourier transform in terms of the new transform which we would like to call Strichartz Fourier transform.
The Fractional Fourier Transform is a ubiquitous signal processing tool in basic and applied sciences. The Fractional Fourier Transform generalizes every property and application of the Fourier Transform. Despite the practical importance of the discrete fractional Fourier transform, its applications in digital communications have been elusive. The convolution property of the discrete Fourier transform plays a vital role in designing multi-carrier modulation systems. Here we report a closed-form affine discrete fractional Fourier transform and we show the circular convolution property for it. T…
In this paper, we will study the continuity of the Fourier transform of measures with respect to the vague topology. We show that the Fourier transform is vaguely discontinuous on R, but becomes continuous when restricting to a class of Fourier transformable measures such that either the measures, or their Fourier transforms are equi-translation bounded. We discuss continuity of the Fourier transform in the product and norm topology. We show that vague convergence of positive definite measures implies the equi translation boundedness of the Fourier transforms, which explains the continuity of …
The aim of this paper is to establish a few uncertainty principles for the Fourier and the short-time Fourier transforms. Also, we discuss an analogue of Donoho--Stark uncertainty principle and provide some estimates for the size of the essential support of the short-time Fourier transform.
This is the direct continuation of the paper "Mapping properties of Fourier transforms" (arXiv:2112.04896) using the same notation as there without further explanations. It deals with continuous and compact mappings of the Fourier transform $F$ between some weighted function spaces on $\mathbb{R}^n$.
We study Fourier and Laplace transforms for Fourier hyperfunctions with values in a complex locally convex Hausdorff space. Since any hyperfunction with values in a wide class of locally convex Hausdorff spaces can be extended to a Fourier hyperfunction, this gives simple notions of asymptotic Fourier and Laplace transforms for vector-valued hyperfunctions, which improves the existing models of Komatsu, Bäumer, Lumer and Neubrander and Langenbruch.
We use the classical Fourier analysis to introduce analytic families of weighted differential operators on the unit sphere. These operators are polynomial functions of the usual Beltrami-Laplace operator. New inversion formulas are obtained for totally geodesic Funk transforms on the sphere and the correpsonding lambda-cosine transforms.
The quadratic phase Fourier transform QPFT is a neoteric addition to the class of Fourier transforms and embodies a variety of signal processing tools including the Fourier, fractional Fourier, linear canonical, and special affine Fourier transform. In this paper, we generalize the quadratic phase Fourier transform to quaternion valued signals, known as the quaternion QPFT QQPFT. We initiate our investigation by studying the QPFT of 2D quaternionic signals, then we introduce the QQPFT of 2D quaternionic signals. Using the fundamental relationship between the QQPFT and quaternion Fourier transf…
There is a canonical unitary transformation from $L^2(\R)$ onto the Fock space $F^2$, called the Bargmann transform. We study the action of the Bargmann transform on several classical integral operators on $L^2(\R)$, including the fractional Fourier transform, the fractional Hilbert transform, and the wavelet transform.
We study the effect of a splitting operator S_t on the L^p norm of the Fourier transform of a function f and on the operator norm of a Fourier multiplier m. Most of our results assume p is an even integer, and are often stronger when f or m has compact support.
In this paper, we prove the Hardy-Littlewood inequality for the generalized Fourier transform on Chébli-Triméche hypergroups and we study in the particular case of the Jacobi hypergroup the integrability of this transform on Besov-type spaces.
In this article, we define the Fourier-Dunkl transform, which generalizes the Fourier transform. We prove Strichartz's restriction theorem for the Fourier-Dunkl transform for a cone-hyper-surface and its generalisation to the family of orthonormal functions. As an application of this restriction theorem, we derive the Strichartz inequality associated with the square root of Dunkl Laplacian for the family of orthonormal functions.
We obtain a characterisation of the Fourier transform on the space of Schwartz-Bruhat functions on locally compact Abelian groups. The result states that any appropriately additive bijection of the Schwartz space onto itself, which interchanges convolution and pointwise products is essentially the Fourier transform. The proof of this result is very similar to that obtained by the author recently for the Euclidean Fourier transform.
The finite Fourier transform of a family of orthogonal polynomials $A_{n}(x)$, is the usual transform of the polynomial extended by $0$ outside their natural domain. Explicit expressions are given for the Legendre, Jacobi, Gegenbauer and Chebyshev families.
In this paper we introduce the concept of a convolution type operation of functionals on Wiener space. It contains several kinds of the concepts of convolution products on Wiener space, which have been studied by many authors. We then investigate fundamental relationships between generalized analytic Fourier--Feynman transforms and convolution type operations. Both of the generalized analytic Fourier--Feynman transform of the convolution type operation and the convolution type operation of the generalized analytic Fourier--Feynman transforms are represented as a product of the generalized anal…
In this paper, we extend the quadratic phase Fourier transform of a complex valued functions to that of the quaternion valued functions of two variables. We call it the quaternion quadratic phase Fourier transform (QQPFT). Based on the relation between the QQPFT and the quaternion Fourier transform (QFT) we obtain the sharp Hausdorff-Young inequality for QQPFT. We define the short time quaternion quadratic phase Fourier transform (STQQPFT) and explore some of its properties including inner product relation and inversion formula. We find its relation with that of the 2D quaternion ambiguity fun…
In this paper, we first establish an evaluation formula to calculate Wiener integrals of functionals on Wiener space. We then apply our evaluation formula to carry out very easily calculating for the analytic Fourier-Feynman transform of the functionals. Some examples are furnished to illustrate the usefulness of the evaluation formula. Finally, using the evaluation formula, we establish the series approximation for the analytic Fourier-Feynman transform.
The Fourier transforms of polyhedral cones can be used, via Brion's theorem, to compute various geometric quantities of polytopes, such as volumes, moments, and lattice-point counts. We present a novel method of computing these conic Fourier transforms by polynomial interpolation. Given the fact that computing volumes of polytopes is #P-hard (Dyer--Frieze [DF88]), we cannot hope for fast algorithms in the general case. However, with extra assumptions on the combinatorics of the cone, we demonstrate it is possible to compute its Fourier transform efficiently.
We discuss different representations of the White noise spaces $(E)_β$, $0 \leq β< 1$ by introducing generalized Wick tensors. As an application we state a generalization of the Mehler formula for the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup.
