Along with the construction of non-Lorentz-invariant effective field theories, recent studies which are based on geometric models of Finsler space-time become more and more popular. In this respect, the Finslerian approach to the problem of Lorentz symmetry violation is characterized by the fact that the violation of Lorentz symmetry is not accompanied by a violation of relativistic symmetry. That means, in particular, that preservation of relativistic symmetry can be considered as a rigorous criterion of the viability for any non-Lorentz-invariant effective field theory. Although this paper has a review character, it contains (with few exceptions) only those results on Finsler extensions of relativity theory, that were obtained by the authors.
In this Report we outline some basic results on generalized Finsler--Kaluza--Klein gravity and locally anisotropic strings. There are investigated exact solutions for locally anisotropic Friedmann--Robertson--Walker universes and three dimensional and string black holes with generic anisotropy.
A general approach to formulation of supergravity in higher order anisotropic superspaces (containing as particular cases different supersymmetric extensions and prolongations of Riemann, Finsler, Lagrange and Kaluza--Klein spaces) is given. We analyze three models of locally anisotropic supergravity.
Torsions, curvatures, structure equations and Bianchi identities for locally anisotropic superspaces (containing as particular cases different supersymmetric extensions and prolongations of Riemann, Finsler, Lagrange and Kaluza--Klein spaces) are investigated.
Higher order anisotropic superspaces are constructed as generalized vector superbundles provided with compatible nonlinear connection, distinguished connection and metric structures.
We study a locally anisotropic model of General Relativity in the framework of a more general geometrical structure than the Riemannian one. In this model the observable anisotropy of the CMBR (WMAP) is represented by a tensor of anisotropy and it is included in the metric structure of space-time. As well, some interesting special cases of spaces are considered.
In this paper, we have investigated some accelerating cosmological models at the backdrop of an anisotropic metric in an extended gravity theory. Two viable cosmological models one with a little rip behaviour and the other with a hyperbolic form of Hubble parameter have been constructed. The dynamical aspects of the models along with some physical and geometrical parameters are analysed. Both the models presented here evolve in the phantom-like region and overlap with $Λ$CDM model at late times. We carried out a geometrical diagnosis of the model to show the viability of the models.
We consider an anisotropic brane-world model with Bianchi type I and V geometry, without mirror symmetry or any form of junction conditions. The generalized Chaplygin gas, which interpolates between a high density relativistic era and a non-relativistic matter phase, is a popular candidate for the present accelerated expansion of the universe. Considering the generalized Chaplygin gas as a geometrical dark energy, we obtain the general solutions in an exact parametric form for both Bianchi type I and V space-times. Finally, we study the behavior of the observationally important parameters such…
In this paper we present the distinguished (d-) Riemannian geometry (in the sense of nonlinear connection, Cartan canonical linear connection, together with its d-torsions and d-curvatures) for a possible Lagrangian inspired by optics in non-uniform media. The corresponding equations of motion are also exposed, and some particular solutions are given. For instance, we obtain as geodesic trajectories some circular helices (depending on an angular velocity ω), certain circles situated in some planes (ones are parallel with xOy, and other ones are orthogonal on xOy), or some straight lines which …
An introduction into the theory of locally anisotropic spaces (modelled as vector bundles provided with compatible nonlinear and distinguished linear connections and metric structures and containing as particular cases different types of Kaluza--Klein and/or extensions of Lagrange and Finsler spaces) is presented. The conditions for consistent propagation of closed strings in locally anisotropic background spaces are analyzed. The connection between the conformal invariance, the vanishing of the renormalization group beta--function of the generalized sigma--model and field equations of locally…
The theory of locally anisotropic superspaces (supersymmetric generalizations of various types of Kaluza--Klein, Lagrange and Finsler spaces) is laid down. In this framework we perform the analysis of construction of the supervector bundles provided with nonlinear and distinguished connections and metric structures. Two models of locally anisotropic supergravity are proposed and studied in details.
We examine the behaviour of homogeneous, anisotropic space-times, specifically the locally rotationally symmetric Bianchi types $I$ and $VII_o$ in the presence of anisotropic matter. By finding an appropriate constant of the motion, and transforming the equations of motion we are able to provide exact solutions in the presence perfect fluids with anisotropic pressures. The solution space covers matter consisting of a single perfect fluid which satisfies the weak energy condition and is rich enough to contain solutions which exhibit behaviour which is qualitatively distinct from the isotropic s…
Thermodynamic properties of locally anisotropic (2+1)-black holes are studied by applying geometric methods. We consider a new class of black holes with a constant in time elliptical event horizon which is imbedded in a generalized Finsler like spacetime geometry induced from Einstein gravity. The corresponding thermodymanic systems are three dimensional with entropy S being a hypersurface function on mass M, anisotropy angle $θ$ and eccentricity of elliptic deformations $ε$. Two-dimensional curved thermodynamic geometries for locally anistropic deformed black holes are constructed after integ…
The kinetic theory is formulated with respect to anholonomic frames of reference on curved spacetimes. By using the concept of nonlinear connection we develop an approach to modelling locally anisotropic kinetic processes and, in corresponding limits, the relativistic non-equilibrium thermodynamics with local anisotropy. This lead to a unified formulation of the kinetic equations on (pseudo) Riemannian spaces and in various higher dimensional models of Kaluza-Klein type and/or generalized Lagrange and Finsler spaces. The transition rate considered for the locally anisotropic transport equation…
We apply the method of moving anholonomic frames in order to construct new classes of solutions of the Einstein equations on (2+1)-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian spaces. There are investigated black holes with deformed horizons and renormalized locally anisotropic constants. We speculate on properties of such anisotropic black holes with characteristics defined by anholonomic frames and anisotropic interactions of matter and gravity. The thermodynamics of locally anisotropic black holes is discussed in connection with a possible statistical mechanics background based on locally anisotropic vari…
By applying the method of moving frames modelling one and two dimensional local anisotropies we construct new solutions of Einstein equations on pseudo-Riemannian spacetimes. The first class of solutions describes non-trivial deformations of static spherically symmetric black holes to locally anisotropic ones which have elliptic (in three dimensions) and ellipsoidal, toroidal and elliptic and another forms of cylinder symmetries (in four dimensions). The second class consists from black holes with oscillating elliptic horizons.
The theory of spinors is developed for locally anisotropic (la) spaces, in brief la-spaces, which in general are modeled as vector bundles provided with nonlinear and distinguished connections and metric structures (such la-spaces contain as particular cases the Lagrange, Finsler and, for trivial nonlinear connections, Kaluza-Klein spaces). The la-spinor differential geometry is constructed. The distinguished spinor connections are studied and compared with similar ones on la-spaces. We derive the la-spinor expressions of curvatures and torsions and analyze the conditions when the distinguishe…
We analyze local anisotropies induced by anholonomic frames and associated nonlinear connections in general relativity and extensions to affine Poincare and de Sitter gauge gravity and different types of Kaluza-Klein theories. We construct some new classes of cosmological solutions of gravitational field equations describing Friedmann-Robertson-Walker like universes with rotation (ellongated and flattened) ellipsoidal or torus symmetry.
In this paper we analyze the conditions when the Einstein equations with cosmological constant and matter describe (2+1)-dimensional generic locally anisotropic (la) spacetimes of generalized Finsler type. New classes of solutions for such la-spacetimes are constructed. There are investigated black la-holes with the induced from general relativity la-curvature and la-torsion and, as a particular case, the black la-hole solutions are found for teleparallel la-spaces. In a more general context we consider the la-renormalization of black hole constants via the receptivity of la-spacetimes. We spe…
This paper is a study of the effects of anisotropic matter sources on the qualitative evolution of spatially homogenous cosmologies of Bianchi type VIII. The analysis is based on a dynamical system approach and makes use of an anisotropic matter family developed by Calogero and Heinzle which generalises perfect fluids and provides a measure of deviation from isotropy. Thereby the role of perfect fluid solutions is put into a broader context. The results of this paper concern the past and future asymptotic dynamics of locally rotationally symmetric solutions of type VIII with anisotropic matter…
We formulate the theory of nearly autoparallel maps (generalizing conformal transforms) of locally anisotropic spaces and define the nearly autoparallel integration as the inverse operation to both covariant derivation and deformation of connections by nearly autoparallel maps. By using this geometric formalism we consider a variant of solution of the problem of formulation of conservation laws for locally anisotropic gravity. We note that locally anisotropic spases contain as particular cases various extensions of Kaluza--Klein, generalized Lagrange and Finsler spaces.
In this article we examine a class of wormhole and flux tube like solutions to 5D vacuum Einstein equations. These solutions possess generic local anisotropy, and their local isotropic limit is shown to be conformally equivalent to the spherically symmetric 5D solutions of gr-qc/9807086. The anisotropic solutions investigated here have two physically distinct signatures: First, they can give rise to angular-dependent, anisotropic ``electromagnetic'' interactions. Second, they can result in a gravitational running of the ``electric'' and ``magnetic'' charges of the solutions. This gravitational…
The material tensor of linear response in electrodynamics is constructed out of products of two symmetric second rank tensor fields which in the approximation of geometrical optics and for uniaxial symmetry reduce to "optical" metrics, describing the phenomenon of birefringence. This representation is interpreted in the context of an underlying internal geometrical structure according to which the symmetric tensor fields are vectorial elements of an associated two-dimensional space.
It is suggested a metric ansatz to describe local matter in an expanding universe, hence interpolating between the Schwarzschild metric at small spatial scales and the FLRW metric at large spatial scales. This is acomplished maintaining space-time free of singularities except for the Schwarzschild mass pole at the origin as opposed to metrics already considered in the literature with the same purpose, namely the McVittie metric. The modified Newton law is analyzed and the static orbit solutions computed. It is concluded that the effects of expantion in the solar system are negligible, however …
The dynamics of cosmological models with isotropic matter sources (perfect fluids) is extensively studied in the literature; in comparison, the dynamics of cosmological models with anisotropic matter sources is not. In this paper we consider spatially homogeneous locally rotationally symmetric solutions of the Einstein equations with a large class of anisotropic matter models including collisionless matter (Vlasov), elastic matter, and magnetic fields. The dynamics of models of Bianchi types I, II, and IX are completely described; the two most striking results are the following: (i) There exis…
We review the geometric setting of the field theory with locally anisotropic interactions. The concept of locally anisotropic space is introduced as a general one for various type of extensions of Lagrange and Finsler geometry and higher dimension (Kaluza--Klein type) spaces. The problem of definition of spinors on generalized Finsler spaces is solved in the framework of the geometry of Clifford bundles provided with compatible nonlinear and distinguished connections and metric structures. We construct the spinor differential geometry of locally anisotropic spaces and discuss some related issu…
It is suggested an expanding locally anisotropic metric (ELA) ansatz describing matter in a flat expanding universe which interpolates between the Schwarzschild (SC) metric near point-like central bodies of mass 'M' and the Robertson-Walker (RW) metric for large radial coordinate: 'ds^2=Z(cdt)2 - 1/Z (dr1-(Hr1/c) Z^(alpha/2+1/2)(cdt))^2-r1^2 dOmega', where 'Z=1-U' with 'U=2GM/(c^2r1)', 'G' is the Newton constant, 'c' is the speed of light, 'H=H(t)=\dot(a)/a' is the time-dependent Hubble rate, 'dOmega=dtheta^2+sin^2(theta) dvarphi^2' is the solid angle element, 'a' is the universe scale factor …
It is discussed the possibility of a fine-tuneable contribution to the two way Doppler acceleration either towards, either outwards the Sun for heliocentric distances above 20 AU by considering a background described by an Expanding Locally Anisotropic (ELA) metric. This metric encodes both the standard local Schwarzschild gravitational effects and the cosmological Universe expansion effects allowing simultaneously to fine-tune other gravitational effects at intermediate scales, which may be tentatively interpreted as a covariant parameterization of either cold dark matter either gravitational…
By imposing natural geometrical and kinematical conditions on a conformal Killing vector in Bianchi I spacetime, we show that a class of axisymmetric metrics admits a conformal motion. This class contains new exact solutions of Einstein's equations, including anisotropic radiation universes that isotropise at late times.
We study the locally rotational symmetry Bianchi type-I dark energy model in the framework of $f(T)$ theory of gravity, where $T$ denotes the torsion scalar. A viable cosmological model is undertaken and the isotropization of this latter is checked, yielding a result that reflects the real evolution of our universe. Moreover, still in the anisotropic optic, a more complicated $f(T)$ model is obtained from the cosmological reconstruction scheme and the analysis shows that the universe is more anisotropic at the beginning if the terms of higher order in $T$ are not considered. This means that th…
Despite having the somewhat successful description of accelerated cosmology, the early evolution of the universe always challenges mankind. Our promising approach lies in a new class of symmetric teleparallel theory of gravity named $f(Q)$, where the non-metricity scalar $Q$ is responsible for the gravitational interaction, which may resolve some of the issues. To study the early evolution of the universe, we presume an anisotropic locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi-I spacetime and derive the motion equations. We discuss the profiles of energy density, equation of state and skewness …
In this paper are discussed possible many body generalizations of the expanding locally anisotropic metric ansatz with respect to approximately Newtonian gravitational systems. This ansatz consistently describes local point-like matter distributions on the expanding Universe also allowing for a covariant parameterization of gravitational interactions at intermediate length scales. As an example of applicability it is modeled a disk galaxy model matching the physical parameters of the galaxy UGC2885 and it is shown that, by fine-tuning the metric functional parameter, the flattening of the gala…
We formulate the theory of field interactions with higher order anisotropy. The concepts of higher order anisotropic space and locally anisotropic space (in brief, ha-space and la-space) are introduced as general ones for various types of higher order extensions of Lagrange and Finsler geometry and higher dimension (Kaluza-Klein type) spaces. The spinors on ha-spaces are defined in the framework of the geometry of Clifford bundles provided with compatible nonlinear and distinguished connections and metric structures (d-connection and d-metric). The spinor differential geometry of ha-spaces is …
In this work are computed analytical solutions for orbital motion on a background described by an Expanding Locally Anisotropic (ELA) metric ansatz. This metric interpolates between the Schwarzschild metric near the central mass and the Robertson-Walker metric describing the expanding cosmological background far from the central mass allowing for a fine-tuneable covariant parameterization of gravitational interactions corrections in between these two asymptotic limits. In particular it is shown that the decrease of the Sun's mass by radiation emission plus the General Relativity corrections du…
We recast the well known Israel-Darmois matching conditions for Locally Rotationally Symmetric (LRS-II) spacetimes using the semitetrad 1+1+2 covariant formalism. This demonstrates how the geometrical quantities including the volume expansion, spacetime shear, acceleration and Weyl curvature of two different spacetimes are related at a general matching surface inheriting the symmetry, which can be timelike or spacelike. The approach is purely geometrical and depends on matching the Gaussian curvature of 2-dimensional sheets at the matching hypersurface. This also provides the constraints on th…
By using anholonomic frames in (pseudo) Riemannian spaces we define anisotropic extensions of Euclidean Taub-NUT spaces. With respect to coordinate frames such spaces are described by off-diagonal metrics which could be diagonalized by corresponding anholonomic transforms. We define the conditions when the 5D vacuum Einstein equations have as solutions anisotropic Taub-NUT spaces. The generalized Killing equations for the configuration space of anisotropically spinning particles (anisotropic spinning space) are analyzed. Simple solutions of the homogeneous part of these equations are expressed…
We study field equations for a weak anisotropic model on the tangent Lorentz bundle $TM$ of a spacetime manifold. A geometrical extension of General Relativity (GR) is considered by introducing the concept of local anisotropy, i.e. a direct dependence of geometrical quantities on observer $4-$velocity. In this approach, we consider a metric on $TM$ as the sum of an h-Riemannian metric structure and a weak anisotropic perturbation, field equations with extra terms are obtained for this model. As well, extended Raychaudhuri equations are studied in the framework of Finsler-like extensions. Canon…
We study the possibility of generalising the Einstein--Straus model to anisotropic settings, by considering the matching of locally cylindrically symmetric static regions to the set of $G_4$ on $S_3$ locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) spacetimes. We show that such matchings preserving the symmetry are only possible for a restricted subset of the LRS models in which there is no evolution in one spacelike direction. These results are applied to spatially homogeneous (Bianchi) exteriors where the static part represents a finite bounded interior region without holes. We find that it is impossibl…
In this paper, we present a model of transitioning universe with minimal interaction between perfect fluid and anisotropic dark energy in Bianchi I space-time. The two sources are assumed to minimally interacted and therefore their energy momentum tensors are conserved separately. The explicit expression for average scale factor are considered in hybrid form that gives time varying deceleration parameter which describes both the early and late time physical features of universe. We also discuss the physical and geometrical properties of the model derived in this paper. The solution is interest…
In the present work we have searched the existence of the late time acceleration of the universe with string fluid as source of matter in anisotropic Heckmann-Suchking space-time by using 287 high red shift $(0.3 \leq z\leq 1.4)$ SN Ia data of observed absolute magnitude along with their possible error from Union 2.1 compilation. It is found that the best fit values for $(Ω_{m})_{0}$, $(Ω_Λ)_{0}$, $(Ω_σ)_{0}$ and $(q)_{0}$ are 0.2820, 0.7177, 0.0002 $\&$ -0.5793 respectively. Several physical aspects and geometrical properties of the model are discussed in detail.
This manuscript is devoted to study the combined effect of a viable model, f(R) = R + αR^n, and electromagnetic field on the instability range of gravitational collapse. We assume charged anisotropic fluid that dissipate energy via heat flow and discuss that electromagnetic field, density inhomogeneity, shear and phase transition on astrophysical bodies can be incorporated by locally anisotropic background. Dynamical equations help to investigate the evolution of self-gravitating objects and leads to the conclusion that adiabatic index depend upon the electromagnetic background, mass and radiu…
The present work is devoted to investigate the Noether symmetries of the locally rotationally symmetric Bianchi type I space time in $f(T,B)$ gravity theory which depends on the torsion scalar $T$ and the boundary term $B$. In this theory, we consider some particular models and investigate their Noether symmetry generators. Besides, we get exact cosmological solutions of the considering models including the matter dominant universe using the Noether symmetry technique. The obtained results are coincide with the accelerated expansion behaviour of the universe.
Expansion of a locally equilibrated fluid is considered in an anisotropic space-time given by Bianchi type I metric. Starting from isotropic equilibrium phase-space distribution function in the local rest frame, we obtain expressions for components of the energy-momentum tensor and conserved current, such as number density, energy density and pressure components. In the case of an axis-symmetric Bianchi type I metric, we show that they are identical to that obtained within the setup of anisotropic hydrodynamics. We further consider the case when Bianchi type I metric is a vacuum solution of Ei…
