We present the program package GoSam which is designed for the automated calculation of one-loop amplitudes for multi-particle processes in renormalisable quantum field theories. The amplitudes, which are generated in terms of Feynman diagrams, can be reduced using either D-dimensional integrand-level decomposition or tensor reduction. GoSam can be used to calculate one-loop QCD and/or electroweak corrections to Standard Model processes and offers the flexibility to link model files for theories Beyond the Standard Model. A standard interface to programs calculating real radiation is also implemented. We demonstrate the flexibility of the program by presenting examples of processes with up to six external legs attached to the loop.
In this presentation, we will focus on a recent applications of the GoSam 2.0 automated framework which goes beyond the official scope of this code, originally designed for one-loop fixed order calculations. In particular, we describe a customized version of GoSam that has been recently employed to study the production of a top-antitop pair in association with a vector boson or with the Higgs boson to next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. In the context of these calculations, the modified version of GoSam was used to evaluate the NLO hard functions which are needed to carry out the res…
After a brief general introduction about the integrand-reduction method, we will review the main features of the GoSam 2.0 automated framework for one-loop calculations and illustrate its application to SM processes involving the production of massive particles in conjunction with jets and photons. These results have been obtained by interfacing GoSam with different Monte Carlo frameworks, thus combining the NLO calculation with parton shower effects. In the second part of the presentation, we will focus on the applications of GoSam beyond NLO. The code has already been used within NNLO calcul…
We present the NLO QCD corrections to the production of a photon pair in association with one jet, where the photons are stemming from graviton decay, within models of large extra dimensions. Our results for the loop amplitudes are produced with the program GOSAM for automated one-loop calculations. We show distributions for several observables for 4, 5 and 6 extra dimensions and demonstrate that the differential K-factors are far from being uniform.
The calculation of rare loop decays in the Standard Model of Particle Physics and its extensions is an extremely tedious work. The Mathematica package MasterTwo facilitates this task. It automatically calculates all loop integrals reducible to scalar integrals depending on up to two different masses independent of external momenta. MasterTwo consists of two sub packages, Fermions and Integrals. Whereas Fermions covers the standard Dirac Algebra, Integrals performs the Taylor expansion, partial fraction, tensor reduction and the integration of the thus achieved scalar integrals. The package wor…
We introduce matchmakereft, a fully automated tool to compute the tree-level and one-loop matching of arbitrary models onto arbitrary effective theories. Matchmakereft performs an off-shell matching, using diagrammatic methods and the background field method when gauge theories are involved. The large redundancy inherent to the off-shell matching together with explicit gauge invariance offers a significant number of non-trivial checks of the results provided. These results are given in the physical basis but several intermediate results, including the matching in the Green basis before and aft…
We present a new and fully general algorithm for the automated construction of the integrands of two-loop scattering amplitudes. This is achieved through a generalisation of the open-loops method to two loops. The core of the algorithm consists of a numerical recursion, where the various building blocks of two-loop diagrams are connected to each other through process-independent operations that depend only on the Feynman rules of the model at hand. This recursion is implemented in terms of tensor coefficients that encode the polynomial dependence of loop numerators on the two independent loop …
Numerical tools, such as OpenLoops, provide NLO scattering amplitudes for a very wide range of hard scattering amplitudes in a fully automated way. In order to match the numerical precision of current and future experiments, however, the higher precision of NNLO calculations is essential, and their automation in a similar tool highly desirable. In our approach, D-dimensional amplitudes are decomposed into loop-momentum tensor integrals with coefficients constructed in four dimensions and rational terms. We present a fully generic algorithm for the efficient numerical construction of the tensor…

We present the automation of one-loop computations in the standard-model effective field theory at dimension six. Our general implementation, dubbed SMEFT@NLO, covers all types of operators: bosonic, two- and four-fermion ones. Included ultraviolet and rational counterterms presently allow for fully differential predictions, possibly matched to parton shower, up to the one-loop level in the strong coupling or in four-quark operator coefficients. Exact flavor symmetries are imposed among light quark generations and an initial focus is set on top-quark interactions in the fermionic sector. We il…
We present the Recola2 library for the efficient generation and computation of one-loop amplitudes in Beyond-Standard-Model theories. Recola2 is based on Recola, an efficient one-loop amplitude generator for the Standard Model, and Rept1l, a newly developed tool to generate one-loop model files for Recola2 in a fully automated way. Recola2 is able to operate with non-trivial extensions of the SM, e.g. extended Higgs sectors and effective field theories. We discuss first applications to extended Higgs sectors and their renormalization.
Automated tools for the computation of particle physics' processes have become the backbone of phenomenological studies beyond the standard model. Here, we present MadDM v3.2. This release enables the fully automated computation of loop-induced dark-matter annihilation processes, relevant for indirect detection observables. Special emphasis lies on the annihilation into $γX$, where $X=γ, Z, h$ or any new particle even under the dark symmetry. These processes lead to the sharp spectral feature of monochromatic gamma lines -- a smoking-gun signature of dark matter in our Galaxy. MadDM provides t…
We present an automated implementation for the calculation of one-loop double and single Sudakov logarithms stemming from electroweak radiative corrections within the Sherpa event generation framework, based on the derivation in[1]. At high energies, these logarithms constitute the leading contributions to the full NLO electroweak corrections. As examples, we show applications for relevant processes at both the LHC and future hadron colliders, namely on-shell W boson pair production, EW-induced dijet production and electron-positron production in association with four jets, providing the first…
