We present a method to calculate the soft function in Soft-Collinear Effective Theory to NLO for N-jet events, defined with respect to arbitrarily complicated observables and algorithms, using a subtraction-based method. We show that at one loop the singularity structure of all observable/algorithm combinations can be classified as one of two types. Type I jets include jets defined with inclusive algorithms for which a jet shape is measured. Type II jets include jets found with exclusive algorithms, as well as jets for which only the direction and energy are measured. Cross sections that are inclusive over a certain region of phase space, such as the forward region at a hadron collider, are examples of Type II jets. We show that for a large class of measurements the required subtractions are already known analytically, including traditional jet shape measurements at hadron colliders. We demonstrate our method by calculating the soft functions for the case of jets defined in eta-phi space with an out-of-jet pT cut and a rapidity cut on the jets, as well as for the case of 1-jettiness.
Zero-bin subtractions are required to avoid double counting soft contributions in collinear loop integrals in Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET). In traditional approaches to factorization, double counting is avoided by dividing jet functions by matrix elements of soft Wilson lines. In this paper, we compare the two approaches to double counting, studying the quark form factor and deep inelastic scattering (DIS) as x_B \to 1 as examples. We explain how the zero-bin subtractions in SCET are required to reproduce the well-established factorization theorem for DIS as x_B \to 1. We study one-l…
In this article, we report how to use the "plus-type" subtraction scheme to deal with endpoint divergences in $h\rightarrowγγ$ or $gg\rightarrow h$ amplitudes induced by light quark loop, which can be formulated by next-to-leading power (NLP) SCET. This subtraction is ensured by two re-factorization conditions, which have been proven to all orders in $α_s$. Based on these conditions, cutoffs emerge naturally after some re-arrangements to handle endpoint divergences and renormalization is compatible with that. Our formalism can analytically reproduce three-loop amplitudes up to $\ln^3(-M_h^2/m_…
We calculate the $\mathcal O(α_s^2)$ corrections to the primary massive quark jet functions in Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET). They are an important ingredient in factorized predictions for inclusive jet mass cross sections initiated by massive quarks emerging from a hard interaction with smooth quark mass dependence. Due to the effects coming from the secondary production of massive quark-antiquark pairs there are two options to define the SCET jet function, which we call universal and mass mode jet functions. They are related to whether or not a soft mass mode (zero) bin subtraction …
Calculations of collinear correlation functions in perturbative QCD and Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) require a prescription for subtracting soft or zero-bin contributions in order to avoid double counting the contributions from soft modes. At leading order in $λ$, where $λ$ is the SCET expansion parameter, the zero-bin subtractions have been argued to be equivalent to convolution with soft Wilson lines. We give a proof of the factorization of naive collinear Wilson lines that is crucial for the derivation of the equivalence. We then check the equivalence by computing the non-Abelian …
We derive the three loop soft function for inclusive Higgs production in gluon fusion, and use it to perform the resummation of the Higgs cross section at N$^3$LL$^\prime$ in SCET. We improve the accuracy of the resummation by including contributions of collinear origin. We include finite top, bottom and charm mass effect where available. These results are available through the public code ResHiggs.
In QCD, the amplitude for multiple soft gluon emissions has been shown to exhibit a form of coherence, wherein one-loop corrections are rendered IR finite by the transverse momentum of the real emissions. Using a sequence of soft-collinear effective theories (SCET) with Glauber operators, we present a compact and elegant derivation of this property. Our derivation highlights an important role played by the Lipatov vertex. The EFT approach provides increased physical intuition and, for the first time, a clear road map for how this result can be extended to higher loop orders.
We summarize and extend previous results on the comparison of threshold resummation, performed, using soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), in the Becher-Neubert approach, to the standard perturbative QCD formalism based on factorization and resummation of Mellin moments of partonic cross sections. We show that the logarithmic accuracy of this SCET result can be extended by half a logarithmic order, thereby bringing it in full agreement with the standard QCD result if a suitable choice is made for the soft scale mu_s which characterizes the SCET result. We provide a master formula relating t…
The proton form factors at large momentum transfer are dominated by two contributions which are associated with the hard and soft rescattering respectively. Motivated by a very active experimental form factor program at intermediate values of momentum transfers, $Q^{2}\sim 5-15 \text{GeV}^{2}$, where an understanding in terms of only a hard rescattering mechanism cannot yet be expected, we investigate in this work the soft rescattering contribution using soft collinear effective theory (SCET). Within such description, the form factor is characterized, besides the hard scale $Q^2$, by a semi-ha…
We discuss consistent power counting for integrating soft and collinear degrees of freedom over arbitrary regions of phase space in the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), and illustrate our results at one loop with several jet algorithms: JADE, Sterman-Weinberg and k_T. Consistently applying SCET power-counting in phase space, along with non-trivial zero-bin subtractions, prevents double-counting of final states. The resulting phase-space integrals over soft and collinear regions are individually ultraviolet divergent, but the phase-space ultraviolet divergences cancel in the sum. Whether…
We reformulate the soft-collinear effective theory which includes the collinear quark and soft gluons. The quark form factor is used to prove that SCET$_{\rm II}$ reproduces the IR physics of the full theory. We give a factorization proof in deep inelastic lepton-hadron scattering by use of the position space formulation.
The resummation of radiative corrections to collider jet observables using soft collinear effective theory is encoded in differential renormalization group equations (RGEs), with anomalous dimensions depending on the observable under consideration. This observable dependence arises from the ultraviolet (UV) singular structure of real phase space integrals in the effective field theory. We show that the observable dependence of anomalous dimensions in SCETI problems can be disentangled by introducing a suitable UV regulator in real radiation integrals. Resummation in the presence of the new reg…
The main application of Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET) and of Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) is in establishing factorization theorems for exclusive and semi-inclusive decays of heavy mesons. However, the calculation of the soft factors from the HQET or SCET factorization relations is, as usual, impeded by the non-perturbative aspect of the strong interactions. In the hope of gaining some insights into some of these quantities we compute them in the 't Hooft model. We find that the B-meson shape function is exactly given by the square of the B-meson light-cone wave-function. The s…
The form of collinear gauge invariance for power suppressed operators in the soft-collinear effective theory is discussed. Using a field redefinition we show that it is possible to make any power suppressed ultrasoft-collinear operators invariant under the original leading order gauge transformations. Our manipulations avoid gauge fixing. The Lagrangians to O(lambda^2) are given in terms of these new fields. We then give a simple procedure for constructing power suppressed soft-collinear operators in SCET_II by using an intermediate theory SCET_I.
We investigate the regularization-scheme dependence of scattering amplitudes in massless QCD and find that the four-dimensional helicity scheme (FDH) and dimensional reduction (DRED) are consistent at least up to NNLO in the perturbative expansion if renormalization is done appropriately. Scheme dependence is shown to be deeply linked to the structure of UV and IR singularities. We use jet and soft functions defined in soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) to efficiently extract the relevant anomalous dimensions in the different schemes. This result allows us to construct transition rules for…
We present a universal formalism for transverse momentum resummation in the view of soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), and establish the relation between our SCET formula and the well known Collins-Soper-Sterman's pQCD formula at the next-to-leading logarithmic order (NLLO). We also briefly discuss the reformulation of joint resummation in SCET.
Using the framework of soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), we factorize and calculate $e^+e^-$ angularity distributions, including perturbative resummation and the incorporation of a universal model for the nonperturbative soft function. Angularities $τ_a$ are a class of event shapes varying in their sensitivity to the substructure of jets in the final state, controlled by a continuous parameter $a<2$. We calculate the jet and soft functions in factorized angularity distributions for all $a<1$ to first order in the strong coupling $α_s$ and resum large logarithms to next-to-leading logarit…
Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) is an effective field theory which describes the interactions of low invariant mass jets which are highly boosted with respect to one another. In the standard formulation of SCET, the effective Lagrangian for collinear fields is expanded in inverse powers of the energy. At leading order this leads to manifest decoupling of soft and collinear degrees of freedom; however, subleading terms in the effective Lagrangian violate this manifest decoupling. In this paper we point out that the collinear expansion in the SCET Lagrangian is unnecessary, and that the S…
We study the (exclusive) kT jet algorithm using effective field theory techniques. Regularizing the virtualities and rapidities of graphs in the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), we are able to write the next-to-leading-order dijet cross section as the product of separate hard, jet, and soft contributions. We show how to reproduce the Sudakov form factor to next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy previously calculated by the coherent branching formalism. Our result only depends on the renormalization group evolution of the hard function, rather than on that of the hard and jet functions as …
We calculate the two-photon exchange (TPE) corrections in the region where the kinematical variables describing the elastic $ep$ scattering are moderately large momentum scales relative to the soft hadronic scale. For such kinematics we use the QCD factorization approach formulated in the framework of the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). Such technique allows us to develop a description for the soft-spectator scattering contribution which is found to be important in the region of moderately large scales. Together with the hard-spectator contribution we present the complete factorization…
Soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) is applied to compute electroweak radiative corrections to Higgs production via gauge boson fusion, q q -> q q H. There are several novel features which make this process an interesting application of SCET. The amplitude is proportional to the Higgs vacuum expectation value (VEV), and so is not a gauge singlet amplitude. Standard resummation methods require a gauge singlet operator and do not apply here. The SCET analysis requires operators with both collinear and soft external fields, with the Higgs VEV being described by an external soft ϕ field. There …
We consider nonleptonic B decays into two light mesons at leading order in soft-collinear effective theory, and show that the decay amplitudes are factorized to all orders in alpha_s. The operators for nonleptonic B decays in the full theory are first matched to the operators in SCET_I, which is the effective theory appropriate for sqrt{m_b Lambda} <mu <m_b with Lambda~0.5 GeV. We evolve the operators and the relevant time-ordered products in SCET_I to SCET_II, which is appropriate for mu < sqrt{m_b Lambda}. Using the gauge-invariant operators in SCET_II, we compute nonleptonic B decays in SCE…
A procedure is developed for using Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) to generate fully exclusive events, which can then be compared to data from collider experiments. We show that SCET smoothly interpolates between QCD for hard emissions, and the parton shower for soft emissions, while resumming all large logarithms. In SCET, logarithms are resummed using the renormalization group, instead of classical Sudakov factors, so subleading logarithms can be resummed as well. In addition, all loop effects of QCD can be reproduced in SCET, which allows the effective theory to incorporate next-to-l…
Collinear fields in soft collinear effective theory (SCET) can be made invariant under collinear gauge transformations by multiplying them with collinear Wilson lines. We discuss how we can quantize SCET directly in terms of these gauge invariant fields, allowing to directly calculate S matrix elements using the gauge invariant collinear fields. We also show how for each collinear direction SCET can be written in terms of fields whose interactions are given by the usual QCD Lagrangian, and how external operators coupling these different directions can be constructed.
Gauge invariance in soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) is discussed in regular (covariant) and singular (light-cone) gauges. It is argued that SCET, as it stands, is not capable to define in a gauge invariant way certain non-perturbative matrix elements that are an integral part of many factorization theorems. Those matrix elements involve two quark or gluon fields separated not only in light-cone direction but also in the transverse one. This observation limits the range of applicability of SCET. To remedy this we argue that one needs to introduce a new Wilson line as part of SCET formali…
We considered the power corrections to the amplitude describing hard exclusive pion pair production in gamma gamma collisions at large energy and momentum transfer. In order to derive a factorization formula for the subleading power corrections one has to take into account the so-called soft-overlap (or soft) contributions. These terms can be naturally introduced within the SCET framework as a matrix elements of the SCET-I operators. The so-called end-point singularities must cancel in the sum of the hard and soft contributions after matching onto SCET-II. Using the so-called physical subtract…
The amplitude for multiple soft gluon emissions, ordered in their relative softness, can be written as a product of infrared (IR) divergent loop-expanded soft gluon currents and the matrix elements. In a more recent work, Angeles-Martinez, Forshaw and Seymour \cite{Angeles-Martinez:2016dph} (AMFS) showed that the result for this amplitude can in fact be re-expressed in an ordered evolution approach, involving \textit{IR finite} one-loop insertions where the virtual loop momentum is constrained in a highly non-trivial way by the $k_T$ of the adjacent real emissions. The result thus exhibits a n…
We present compact integral representations for the calculation of two-loop anomalous dimensions for a generic class of soft functions that are defined in terms of two light-like Wilson lines. Our results are relevant for the resummation of Sudakov logarithms for e+ e- event-shape variables and inclusive hadron-collider observables at next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy within Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET). Our formalism applies to both SCET-1 and SCET-2 soft functions and we clarify the relation between the respective soft anomalous dimension and the collinear anomaly expone…
We perform a systematic comparison of soft-gluon resummation in SCET and in a standard "direct" QCD (dQCD) approach, both from an analytical and a phenomenological point of view. In particular, we concentrate on Higgs boson production in gluon-gluon fusion at a hadron collider. Using specifically a saddle point argument, we arrive at a detailed understanding of the quantitative differences between these two approaches.
In this plenary talk I discuss soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) as a framework for precision QCD phenomenology. Emphasis is placed on jet and heavy flavor observables accessible at current and future collider facilities. One of the principal challenges that calculations of hard probes in heavy ion reactions face is the ambiguity associated with the implementation of medium-induced radiative effects. I demonstrate how extension of SCET to describe parton propagation in QCD matter has helped quantify and reduce the theoretical uncertainty in jet quenching calculations.
We re-examine observables with rapidity divergences in the context of a formulation of Soft-Collinear Effective Theory in which infrared degrees of freedom are not explicitly separated into modes. We consider the Sudakov form factor with a massive vector boson and Drell-Yan production of lepton pairs at small transverse momentum as demonstrative examples. In this formalism, rapidity divergences introduce a scheme dependence into the effective theory and are associated with large logarithms appearing in the soft matching conditions. This scheme dependence may be used to derive the corresponding…
We construct the soft-collinear effective Lagrangian which is manifestly gauge invariant order by order. Field redefinitions of collinear gauge fields and a proper decomposition of quark fields are necessary to make the Lagrangian gauge invariant. We can obtain the effective Lagrangian order by order in SCET_I and SCET_II by adopting appropriate power counting methods. Various types of current operators can be investigated using this formalism, and we choose the soft-collinear current as a specific example to present explicit radiative corrections. The hard-collinear, collinear, and ultrasoft …
The hard-scattering contributions to heavy-to-light form factors at large recoil are studied systematically in soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). Large logarithms arising from multiple energy scales are resummed by matching QCD onto SCET in two stages via an intermediate effective theory. Anomalous dimensions in the intermediate theory are computed, and their form is shown to be constrained by conformal symmetry. Renormalization-group evolution equations are solved to give a complete leading-order analysis of the hard-scattering contributions, in which all single and double logarithms are…
We consider a sum rule for heavy-to-light form factors in soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). Using the correlation function given by the time-ordered product of a heavy-to-light current and its hermitian conjugate, the heavy-to-light soft form factor zeta_P can be related to the leading-order B meson shape function. Using the scaling behavior of the heavy-to-light form factor in Lambda_QCD/m_b, we put a constraint on the behavior of the $B$ meson shape function near the endpoint. We employ the sum rule to estimate the size of zeta_P with the model for the shape function and find that it r…
We describe a chiral formalism for processes involving both energetic hadrons and soft Goldstone bosons, which extends the application of soft-collinear effective theory to multibody B decays. The nonfactorizable helicity amplitudes for heavy meson decays into multibody final states satisfy symmetry relations analogous to the large energy form factor relations, which are broken at leading order in Lambda/mb by calculable factorizable terms. We use the chiral effective theory to compute the leading corrections to these symmetry relations in B -> M_n pi ell\barνand B -> M_n pi e+e- decays.
The effects of the soft gluon emission in hard scattering processes at the phase boundary are resummed in the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). In SCET, the soft gluon emission is decoupled from the energetic collinear part, and is obtained by the vacuum expectation value of the soft Wilson-line operator. The form of the soft Wilson lines is universal in deep inelastic scattering, in the Drell-Yan process, in the jet production from e+e- collisions, and in the gamma* gamma* -> pi0 process, but its analytic structure is slightly different in each process. The anomalous dimensions of the s…
In the framework of soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), we show how to formulate the resummation for a broad family of final-state, global observables in high-energy collisions in a general way that is suitable for a numerical calculation. Contrary to the standard SCET approach, this results in a method that does not require an observable-specific factorization theorem. We present a complete formulation at next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic order for $e^+e^-$ observables, and show how to systematically extend the framework to higher orders. This work paves the way to automated resummation…

In this work we study QCD corrections to the top quark doubly decay rate with a detected $B$ hadron containing a $b$ quark. We focus on the regime among which the emitted $W$ boson nearly carries its maxim energy. The tool that we use here is the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). The factorization theorem based on SCET indicates a novel fragmenting jet function. We calculate this function to next-to-leading order in $α_s$. Large logarithms due to several well separated scale are summed up using the renormalization group equation (RGE). Finally we reach an analytic formula for the distrib…
We show that the amplitudes for B decays into two light mesons at leading order in soft-collinear effective theory are factorized to all orders in alpha_s. We construct gauge-invariant four-quark operators by employing the effective theories SCET_I for sqrt{m_b Λ} <μ<m_b, and SCET_II for μ<sqrt{m_b Λ} with Lambda ~0.5 GeV. These operators do not allow gluon exchanges between different sectors of the current and the matrix elements are reduced to the products of current matrix elements. The spectator interactions are also factorized at leading order in SCET and to all orders in alpha_s.
Soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) is used to sum Sudakov double-logarithms in the x ->1 endpoint region for the deep inelastic scattering structure function. The calculations are done in both the target rest frame and the Breit frame. The separation of scales in the effective theory implies that the anomalous dimension of the SCET current is linear in ln mu, and the anomalous dimension for the Nth moment of the structure function is linear in ln N, to all orders in perturbation theory. The SCET formulation is shown to be free of Landau pole singularities. Some important differences betwee…
In this talk I give an overview of soft collinear effective theory (SCET), including a discussion of some recent advances. First, I briefly cover the foundation upon which SCET is built, namely QCD factorization, and review the theoretical framework of SCET. Next, I cover some recent calculations involving SCET. Since there are more interesting results than I can cover, I have picked four that that I find particularly exciting. The first two topics are dynamical threshold enhancements in Drell-Yan and resummation of higgs production at the LHC. Both topics center on the resummation of large Su…
We consider rare radiative B decays such as B -> K^* gamma or B -> rho gamma in soft-collinear effective theory, and show that the decay amplitudes are factorized to all orders in alpha_s and at leading order in Lambda/m_b.By employing two-step matching, we classify the operators for radiative B decays in powers of a small parameter lambda(~ \sqrt{Lambda/m_b}) and obtain the relevant operators to order lambda in SCET_I. These operators are constructed with or without spectator quarks including the four-quark operators contributing to annihilation and W-exchange channels. And we employ SCET_II …
In the framework of the soft-collinear effective theory, we demonstrate that the leading-power heavy-to-light baryonic form factors at large recoil obey the heavy quark and large energy symmetries. Symmetry breaking effects are suppressed by $Λ/m_{b}$ or $Λ/E$, where $Λ$ is the hadronic scale, $m_b$ is the $b$ quark mass and $E\sim m_b$ is the energy of light baryon in the final state. At leading order, the leading power baryonic form factor $ξ_{Λ,p}(E)$, in which two hard-collinear gluons are exchanged in the baryon constituents, can factorize into the soft and collinear matrix elements convo…
We describe in some detail the derivation of a power counting formula for the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). This formula constrains which operators are required to correctly describe the infrared at any order in the Lambda_QCD/Q expansion (lambda expansion). The result assigns a unique lambda-dimension to graphs in SCET solely from vertices, is gauge independent, and can be applied independent of the process. For processes with an OPE the lambda-dimension has a correspondence with dynamical twist.
We analyze the transverse momentum broadening in the absence of radiation of an energetic parton propagating through quark-gluon plasma via Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET). We show that the probability for picking up transverse momentum k_\perp is given by the Fourier transform of the expectation value of two transversely separated light-like path-ordered Wilson lines. The subtleties about the ordering of operators do not change the \hat q value for the strongly coupled plasma of N=4 SYM theory.
We discuss the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) and kinematic expansions in B-decays, focusing on recent results for color suppressed B -> D^(*) X decays. In particular we discuss model independent predictions for B^0 -> D^0 pi^0 and B^0 -> D^*0 pi^0, and update the comparison using new experimental data. We show why HQET alone is insufficient to give these results. SCET predictions are also reviewed for other B and Lambda_b decay channels that are not yet tested by data.
We consider di-jet production in hadron collisions where a transverse veto is imposed on radiation for (pseudo-)rapidities in the central region only, where this central region is defined with rapidity cutoff. For the case where the transverse measurement (e.g., transverse energy or min $p_T$ for jet veto) is parametrically larger relative to the typical transverse momentum beyond the cutoff, the cross section is insensitive to the cutoff parameter and is factorized in terms of collinear and soft degrees of freedom. The virtuality for these degrees of freedom is set by the transverse measureme…
We present a systematic discussion of Lambda_b -> Lambda transition form factors in the framework of soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). The universal soft form factor, which enters the symmetry relations in the limit of large recoil energy, is calculated from a sum-rule analysis of a suitable SCET correlation function. The same method is applied to derive the leading corrections from hard-collinear gluon exchange at first order in the strong coupling constant. We present numerical estimates for form factors and form-factor ratios and their impact on decay observables in Lambda_b -> Lambda…
We provide a systematic BRST formalism for the soft-collinear effective theory describing interactions of soft and collinear degrees of freedom in the presence of a hard interaction. In particular, we develop full BRST symmetry transformation for SCET theory. We further extend the BRST formulation by making the transformation field dependent. This establishes a mapping between several SCET actions consistently when defined in different gauge conditions. In fact, a definite structure of gauge-fixed actions corresponding to any particular gauge condition can be generated for SCET theory using ou…
Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) is an effective field theory of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) for processes where there are energetic, nearly lightlike degrees of freedom interacting with one another via soft radiation. SCET has found many applications in high-energy and nuclear physics, especially in recent years the physics of hadronic jets in $e^+e^-$, lepton-hadron, hadron-hadron, and heavy-ion collisions. SCET can be used to factorize multi-scale cross sections in these processes into single-scale hard, collinear, and soft functions, and to evolve these through the renormalization g…
We use soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) to study the factorization properties of deep inelastic scattering in the region of phase space where 1-x = O(Lambda_{QCD/Q}). By applying a regions analysis to loop diagrams in the Breit frame, we show that the appropriate version of SCET includes anti-hard-collinear, collinear, and soft-collinear fields. We find that the effects of the soft-collinear fields spoil perturbative factorization even at leading order in the 1/Q expansion.
We study exclusive radiative decays of the $Υ$ using soft-collinear effective theory and non-relativistic QCD. In contrast to inclusive radiative decays at the endpoint we find that color-octet contributions are power suppressed in exclusive decays, and can safely be neglected, greatly simplifying the analysis. We determine the complete set of Lorentz structures that can appear in the SCET Wilson coefficients and match onto them using results from a previous calculation. We run these coefficients from the scale $\mups$ to the scale $Λ\sim 1 \textrm{GeV}$, thereby summing large logarithms. Fina…
We review soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), and apply it to discuss quark electromagnetic form factor, then present the resumed transverse momentum distribution of Higgs-boson production via gluon fusion under this framework, where we derive a relatively full differential formula in transverse momentum $Q_T$ space like one which have been obtained by Dokshitzer-D'Yanov-Troyan (DDT) in perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (pQCD). Furthermore, our above result can be generalized to even higher order. Comparing our formula with the integral formula of Collins-Soper-Sterman (CSS) in impact pa…
We calculate the anomalous dimensions of the next-to-leading order dijet operators in soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). We use a formulation of SCET where the Lagrangian is multiple copies of QCD and the interactions between sectors occur through light-like Wilson lines in external currents. We introduce a small gluon mass to regulate the infrared divergences of the individual loop diagrams in order to properly extract the ultraviolet divergences. We discuss this choice of infrared regulator and contrast it with the $δ$-regulator. Our results can be used to increase the theoretical preci…
