Let K be an imaginary quadratic field, and x the Dirichlet character corresponding to the extension K/Q. Let m=2n or 2n+1 with n a positive integer. Let f be a primitive form of weight 2k+1 and and nebentype x, or a primitive form of weight 2k for SL(2,Z) according as m=2n, or m=2n+1. For such an f let I_m(f) be the lift of f to the space of modular forms of weight 2k+2n for the Hermitian modular group of degree m constructed by Ikeda.
We then express the period <I_m(f), I_m(f) > of I_m(f) in terms of special values of the adjoint L-functions of f. This poves the conjecture concerning the period of the Ikeda lift proposed by Ikeda.
We compute the twisted Koecher-Maass series of the first and second kind of the Ikeda type lift for the exceptional group of type $E_{7,3}$. As an application, we obtain their rationality result.
In our previous work, he second and the third named authors constructed the Ikeda type lift for the exceptional group $E_{7,3}$ from an elliptic modular cusp form. In this paper, we prove an explicit formula for the period or the Petersson norm of the Ikeda type lift in terms of the product of the special values of the symmetric square $L$-function of the elliptic modular form. There are similar works done by the first author with his collaborator, but new technical inputs are required and developed to overcome some difficulties coming from the hugeness of $E_{7,3}$.
Let $k$ and $n$ be positive even integers. For a Hecke eigenform $h$ in the Kohnen plus subspace of weight $k-n/2+1/2$ for $\varGamma_0(4)$, let $I_n(h)$ be the Duke-Imamoglu-Ikeda lift of $h$ to the space of cusp forms of weight $k$ for $Sp_n(\mathbb Z)$. We then give an estimate of the Fourier coefficients of $I_n(h)$. It is better than the usual Hecke bound for the Fourier coefficients of a Siegel cusp form.
For two Hecke eigenforms $h_1$ and $h_2$ in the Kohnen plus space of half-integral weight, let $I_n(h_1)$ and $I_n(h_2)$ be the Duke-Imamoglu-Ikeda lift of $h_1$ and $h_2$, respectively, which are Siegel cusp forms with respect to $Sp_n(\ZZ)$. Moreover, let $E_{n/2+1/2}$ be the Cohen Eisenstein series of weight $n/2+1/2$. We then express the Rankin-Selberg convolution $R(s,I_n(h_1),I_n(h_2))$ of $I_n(h_1)$ and $I_n(h_2)$ in terms of a certain Dirichlet series $D(s,h_1,h_2,E_{n/2+1/2})$, which is similar to the triple convolution product of $h_1, h_2$ and $E_{n/2+1/2}$. We apply our formula to …
In this article we obtain an explicit formula for certain Rankin-Selberg type Dirichlet series associated to certain Siegel cusp forms of half-integral weight. Here these Siegel cusp forms of half-integral weight are obtained from the composition of the Ikeda lift and the Eichler-Zagier-Ibukiyama correspondence. The integral weight version of the main theorem had been obtained by Katsurada and Kawamura. The result of the integral weight case is a product of $L$-function and Riemann zeta functions, while half-integral weight case is a infinite summation over negative fundamental discriminants w…
Let K be an imaginary quadratic field with discriminant -D, and x the Dirichlet character corresponding to the extension K/Q. Let m=2n or 2n+1 with n a positive integer. Let f be a primitive form of weight 2k+1 and level D with Neben character x, or a primitive form of weight 2k for SL(2,Z) according as m=2n, or m=2n+1. For such an f let I(m,f) be the lift of f to the space of Hermitian modular forms of degree m constructed by Ikeda. We then give an explicit formula of the Koecher-Maass series L(s,I(m,f)) of I(m,f). This is a generalization of [Y. Mizuno, Manuscripta Math. 119(2006), 175-216].
Miyawaki type lifts are kinds of Langlands functorial lifts and a special case was first conjectured by Miyawaki and proved by Ikeda for Siegel cusp forms. Since then, such a lift for Hermitian modular forms was constructed by Atobe and Kojima , and for half-integral weight Siegel cusp forms by Hayashida, and we constructed Miyawaki type lift for ${\rm GSpin}(2,10)$. Recently Ikeda and Yamana generalized Ikeda type construction and accordingly did Miyawaki type lift for Hilbert cusp forms in a remarkable way. In all these works, a construction of Miyawaki type lift takes two steps as follows: …
In this paper we provide a sufficient condition for a prime to be a congruence prime for an automorphic form $f$ on the unitary group $U(n,n)(A_F)$ for a large class of totally real fields $F$ via a divisibility of a special value of the standard $L$-function associated to $f$. We also study $\ell$-adic properties of the Fourier coefficients of an Ikeda lift $I_ϕ$ (of an elliptic modular form $ϕ$) on $U(n,n)(A_{\mathbf{Q}})$ proving that they are $\ell$-adic integers which do not all vanish modulo $\ell$. Finally we combine these results to show that the condition of $\ell$ being a congruence …
Let $f$ be a primitive form with respect to $SL_2(Z)$. Then we propose a conjecture on the congruence between the Klingen-Eisenstein lift of the Duke-Imamoglu-Ikeda lift of $f$ and a certain lift of a vector valued Hecke eigenform with respect to $Sp_2(Z)$. This conjecture implies Harder's conjecture. We prove the above conjecture in some cases.
By using new techniques with the degenerate Whittaker functions found by Ikeda-Yamana, we construct higher level cusp form on $E_{7,3}$, called Ikeda type lift, from any Hecke cusp form whose corresponding automorphic representation has no supercuspidal local components. This generalizes the previous results on level one forms. But there are new phenomena in higher levels; first, we can handle non-trivial central characters. Second, the lift depends only on the restriction of the Hecke cusp form to $SL_2$. Hence any twist of the cusp form gives rise to the same lift. However for square free le…
We prove a precise formula relating the Bessel period of certain automorphic forms on ${\rm GSp}_{4}(\mathbb{A}_{F})$ to a central $L$-value. This is a special case of the refined Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture for the groups $({\rm SO}_{5},{\rm SO}_{2})$ as set out by Ichino--Ikeda and Liu. This conjecture is deep and hard to prove in full generality; in this paper we succeed in proving the conjecture for forms lifted, via automorphic induction, from ${\rm GL}_{2}(\mathbb{A}_{E})$ where $E$ is a quadratic extension of $F$. The case where $E=F\times F$ has been previously dealt with by Liu.
For an imaginary quadratic field $K$ of discriminant $-D$, let $χ= χ_K$ be the associated quadratic character. We will show that the space of special hermitian Jacobi forms of level $N$ is isomorphic to the space of plus forms of level $DN$ and nebentypus $χ$ (the hermitian analogue of Kohnen's plus space) for any integer $N$ prime to $D$. This generalizes the results of Krieg from $N = 1$ to arbitrary level. Combining this isomorphism with the recent work of Berger and Klosin and a modification of Ikeda's construction we prove the existence of a lift from the space of elliptic modular forms t…
Let $\frak T_2$ (resp. $\mathfrak{T}$) be the Hermitian symmetric domain of $Spin(2,10)$ (resp. $E_{7,3}$). In the previous work, we constructed holomorphic cusp forms on $\mathfrak{T}$ from elliptic cusp forms with respect to $SL_2(\mathbb{Z})$. By using such cusp forms we construct holomorphic cusp forms on $\mathfrak{T}_2$ which are similar to Miyawaki lift in symplectic groups established by T. Ikeda.
We state and prove an extension of the global Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture and the Ichino-Ikeda conjecture to the case of some Eisenstein series on unitary groups $U_n\times U_{n+1}$. Our theorems are based on a comparison of the Jacquet-Rallis trace formulas. A new point is the expression of some interesting spectral contributions in these formulas in terms of integrals of relative characters. As an application of our mains theorems, we prove the global Gan-Gross-Prasad and the Ichino-Ikeda conjecture for Bessel periods of unitary groups.
Let $\bf{G}$ be the connected reductive group of type $E_{7,3}$ over $\mathbb{Q}$ and $\mathfrak{T}$ be the corresponding symmetric domain in $\mathbb{C}^{27}$. Let $Γ=\bf{G}(\mathbb{Z})$ be the arithmetic subgroup defined by Baily. In this paper, for any positive integer $k\ge 10$, we will construct a (non-zero) holomorphic cusp form on $\mathfrak{T}$ of weight $2k$ with respect to $Γ$ from a Hecke cusp form in $S_{2k-8}(SL_2(\mathbb{Z}))$. This lift is an analogue of Ikeda's construction.
In this article, we study the co-period integral attached to an automorphic form on $\GL(2)$ and two exceptional theta series on the cubic Kazhdan-Patterson cover of $\GL(2)$. In the local aspect, we show the $\Hom$-space is always of one dimension and conduct the unramified calculations. In the global aspect, we give the Euler decomposition for the co-period integrals of Eisenstein series and propose an Ichino-Ikeda type conjecture relating the co-period integrals of cuspidal forms to the central critical value of symmetric cube $L$-functions. We also deduce from the local multiplicity one re…
We give an explicit construction of vector-valued Yoshida lifts and derive a formula of the Bessel periods of Yoshida lifts, by which we prove the non-vanishing modulo a prime of Yoshida lifts attached to a pair of elliptic modular newforms. As a consequence, we obtain a new proof of the non-vanishing of Yoshida lifts.
Let $e \geq 2$ be an integer, $p^r$ be a prime power with $p^r \equiv 1\ ({\rm mod}\ e)$ and $η_r(i)$ be Gaussian periods of degree $e$ for ${\mathbb F}_{p^r}$. By the dual form of Davenport and Hasse's lifting theorem on Gauss sums, we establish lifts of the multiplication matrices of the Gaussian periods $η_r(0),\ldots,η_r(e-1)$ which are defined by F. Thaine. We also give some examples of the explicit lifts for prime degree $e$ with $3\leq e\leq 23$ which also illustrate relations among lifts of Jacobi sums, Gaussian periods and multiplication matrices of Gaussian periods.
We explicitly give an inner product formula and a Bessel period formula for theta series on GSp(4), which was studied by Harris, Soudry and Taylor. As a consequence, we prove a non-vanishing of the theta series of small weights and we give a criterion for the non-vanishing of the theta series modulo a prime.
Presenting p-adic numbers as {\em deformations} of finite fields allows a better understanding of Frobenius lifts and their connection with p-derivations in the sense of Buium \cite{Buium-Main}. In this way "numbers {\em are} functions", as recognized before \cite{Manin:Numbers}, allowing to view initial structure deformation problems as arithmetic differential equations as in \cite{Buium-Manin}, and providing a cohomological interpretation to Buium calculus via Hochschild cohomology which controls deformations of algebraic structures. Applications to p-adic periods are considered, including t…
The present paper is devoted to the relations between Deligne's conjecture on critical values of motivic $L$-functions and the multiplicative relations between periods of arithmetically normalized automorphic forms on unitary groups. In the first place, we combine the Ichino--Ikeda--Neal-Harris (IINH) formula -- which is now a theorem -- with an analysis of cup products of coherent cohomological automorphic forms on Shimura varieties to establish relations between certain automorphic periods and critical values of Rankin-Selberg and Asai $L$-functions of ${\rm GL}(n)\times{\rm GL}(m)$ over CM …
It is known that among Siegel modular forms of degree $2$ and level $1$ the only functions that violate the Ramanujan conjecture are Saito-Kurokawa lifts of modular forms of level $1$. These are precisely the functions whose Fourier coefficients satisfy Maass relations. More generally, the Ramanujan conjecture for $\mathrm{GSp}_4$ is predicted to fail only in case of CAP representations. It is not known though whether the associated Siegel modular forms (of various levels) still satisfy a version of Maass relations. We show that this is indeed the case for the ones related to P-CAP representat…
We prove Deligne's conjecture for symmetric fifth $L$-functions of elliptic newforms of weight greater than $5$. As a consequence, we establish period relations between motivic periods associated to an elliptic newform and the Betti-Whittaker periods of its symmetric cube functorial lift to ${\rm GL}_4$.
We give constraints on the existence of $(χ,b)$-factors in the global $A$-parameter of a genuine cuspidal automorphic representation $σ$ of a metaplectic group in terms of the invariant, lowest occurrence index, of theta lifts to odd orthogonal groups. We also give a refined result that relates the invariant, first occurrence index, to non-vanishing of period integrals of residues of Eisenstein series associated to the cuspidal datum $χ\otimesσ$. This complements our previous results for symplectic groups.
We prove that the field generated by the Fourier coefficients of weakly holomorphic Poincaré series of a given level $Γ_0(N)$ and weight $k\ge 2$ coincides with the field generated by the single-valued periods of a certain motive attached to $Γ_0(N)$. This clarifies the arithmetic nature of such Fourier coefficients and generalises previous formulas of Brown and Acres--Broadhurst giving explicit series expansions for the single-valued periods of some modular forms. Our proof is based on Bringmann--Ono's construction of harmonic lifts of Poincaré series.
A new- and old-form theory for Bessel periods of Saito-Kurokawa representations is given. We introduce arithmetic subgroups so that a local Bessel vector fixed by the subgroup indexed by the conductor of the representation is unique up to scalars. The global Langlands L-function of a holomorphic Saito-Kurokawa representation coincides with a canonically settled Piatetski-Shapiro zeta integral of the newform.
The zeros and poles of standard automorphic $L$-functions attached to representations of classical groups are linked to the nonvanishing of lifts in the theory of the theta correspondence. The results of this paper show that when a cuspidal representation $σ$ of a symplectic group $G$ lifts to a cuspidal representation $π= θ_ψ(σ)$ of an orthogonal group $H$ attached to a quadratic space $V$ of dimension $m$, the Fourier coefficients of automorphic forms in $σ$ are linked to periods of automorphic forms in $π$. Consequently, when our results are combined with the Rallis inner product formula in…
