We are interested in the long-time asymptotic behavior of growth-fragmentation equations with a nonlinear growth term. We present examples for which we can prove either the convergence to a steady state or conversely the existence of periodic solutions. Thanks the General Relative Entropy method applied to well chosen self-similar solutions, we show that the equation can "asymptotically" be reduced to a system of ODEs. Then stability results are proved by using a Lyapunov functional, and existence of periodic solutions are proved thanks to the Poincaré-Bendixon theorem or by Hopf bifurcation.
The objective is to prove the asynchronous exponential growth of the growth-fragmentation equation in large weighted $L^1$ spaces and under general assumptions on the coefficients. The key argument is the creation of moments for the solutions to the Cauchy problem, resulting from the unboundedness of the total fragmentation rate. It allows us to prove the quasi-compactness of the associated (rescaled) semigroup, which in turn provides the exponential convergence toward the projector on the Perron eigenfunction.
In this paper, we provide a systematic way of finding explicit solutions for a class of continuous fragmentation equations with growth or decay in the state space and derive explicit solutions in the cases of constant and linear growth/decay coefficients.
A specific class of coagulation and fragmentation coefficients is considered for which the strength of the coagulation is balanced by that of the multiple fragmentation. Existence and uniqueness of mass-conserving solutions are proved when the initial total mass is sufficiently small.
We are concerned with the long-time behavior of the growth-fragmentation equation. We prove fine estimates on the principal eigenfunctions of the growth-fragmentation operator, giving their first-order behavior close to 0 and $+\infty$. Using these estimates we prove a spectral gap result by following the technique in [Caceres, Canizo, Mischler 2011, JMPA], which implies that solutions decay to the equilibrium exponentially fast. The growth and fragmentation coefficients we consider are quite general, essentially only assumed to behave asymptotically like power laws.

We consider the linear growth-fragmentation equation arising in the modelling of cell division or polymerisation processes. For constant coefficients, we prove that the dynamics converges to the steady state with an exponential rate. The control on the initial data uses an elaborate $L^1$-norm that seems to be necessary. It also reflects the main idea of the proof which is to use an anti-derivative of the solution. The main technical difficulty is related to the entropy dissipation rate which is too weak to produce a Poincaré inequality.

In this paper we prove the global in time solvability of the continuous growth--fragmentation--coagulation equation with unbounded coagulation kernels, in spaces of functions having finite moments of sufficiently high order. The main tool is the recently established result on moment regularization of the linear growth--fragmentation semigroup that allows us to consider coagulation kernels whose growth for large clusters is controlled by how good the regularization is, in a similar manner to the case when the semigroup is analytic.

We study the variations of the principal eigenvalue associated to a growth-fragmentation-death equation with respect to a parameter acting on growth and fragmentation. To this aim, we use the probabilistic individual-based interpretation of the model. We study the variations of the survival probability of the stochastic model, using a generation by generation approach. Then, making use of the link between the survival probability and the principal eigenvalue established in a previous work, we deduce the variations of the eigenvalue with respect to the parameter of the model.

The coagulation kernel is assumed to increase at most linearly for large sizes and no assumption is made on the growth of the overall fragmentation rate for large sizes. However, they are both required to vanish for small sizes at a rate which is prescribed by the (non-integrable) singularity of the fragment distribution.
This article is devoted to the study of existence of a mass conserving global solution for the collision-induced nonlinear fragmentation model which arises in particulate processes, with the singular type of collision kernel. The above mentioned form includes many practical oriented kernels of both singular and non-singular types. The singularity of the unbounded collision kernel at coordinate axes extends the previous existence result and also exhibits at most quadratic growth at infinity.
