A. de Sole, V. G. Kac, and M. Wakimoto (arXiv:1004.5387) have recently introduced a new family of compatible Hamiltonian operators of the form $H^{(N,0)}=D^2\circ((1/u)\circ D)^{2n}\circ D$, where $N=2n+3$, $n=0,1,2,...$, $u$ is the dependent variable and $D$ is the total derivative with respect to the independent variable. We present a differential substitution that reduces any linear combination of these operators to an operator with constant coefficients and linearizes any evolution equation which is bi-Hamiltonian with respect to a pair of any nontrivial linear combinations of the operators $H^{(N,0)}$. We also give the Darboux coordinates for $H^{(N,0)}$ for any odd $N\geqslant 3$.
We introduce a method for calculating the joint spectra of functions which comprise a quantum integrable system under a deformation quantization star product. The main result involves a construction by formal power series in h-bar of s'Darboux coordinates, a concept we introduce for the star product analogue of Darboux normal coordinates. We will find that underlying the quantum integrable system is a set of s'Darboux coordinates which in turn gives rise to number operators for the system. We present an explicit correction to the lowest order Bohr-Sommerfeld or EBK quantization rule.
The Gauss-Manin equations are solved for a class of flat-metrics defined by Novikov algebras, this generalizing a result of Balinskii and Novikov who solved this problem in the case of commutative Novikov algebras (where the algebraic conditions reduce to those of a Frobenius algebra). The problem stems from the theory of first-order Hamiltonian operators and their reduction to a constant, or Darboux, form. The monodromy group associated with the Novikov algebra gives rise to an orbit space, which is, for a wide range of Novikov algebras, a cyclic quotient singularity.
In this paper we utilize the covariance of Ricatti equation with respect to linear fractional transformations to define classes of conformally equivalent second order differential equations. This motivates then the introduction of fractional Darboux transformations which can be recognized also as generalized Cole-Hopf transformations. We apply these transformations to find Schrodinger equations with isospectral potentials and to the linearization of some new classes of nonlinear partial differential equations.
In this work, we carry out a detailed study on the linearization of isochronous centre of a modified Emden equation with linear external forcing. We construct inverse integrating factor and time independent first integral for this system through Darboux method. To linearize the isochronous centre we explore a transverse commuting dynamical system and its first integral. With the help of first integrals of the original dynamical system and its transverse commuting system we derive the linearizing transformation and reduce the nonlinear system into linear isochronous one. We also point out certa…
We propose an algorithm for obtaining the spectra of Casimir (Laplace) operators on Lie groups. We prove that the existence of the normal polarization associated with a linear functional on the Lie algebra is necessary and sufficient for the transition to local canonical Darboux coordinates $(p,q)$ on the coadjoint representation orbit that is linear in the "momenta." We show that the $\la$-representations of Lie algebras (which are used, in particular, in integrating differential equations) result from the quantization of the Poisson bracket on the coalgebra in canonical coordinates.
We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for a bi-Darboux Theorem on triplectic manifolds. Here triplectic manifolds are manifolds equipped with two compatible, jointly non-degenerate Poisson brackets with mutually involutive Casimirs, and with ranks equal to 2/3 of the manifold dimension. By definition bi-Darboux coordinates are common Darboux coordinates for two Poisson brackets. We discuss both the Grassmann-even and the Grassmann-odd Poisson bracket case. Odd triplectic manifolds are, e.g., relevant for Sp(2)-symmetric field-antifield formulation. We demonstrate a one-to-one correspo…
A set of all linear transformations with a fixed Jordan structure $J$ is a symplectic manifold isomorphic to the coadjoint orbit $\mathcal O (J)$ of $GL(N,C)$. Any linear transformation may be projected along its eigenspace to (at least one) coordinate subspace of the complement dimension. The Jordan structure $\tilde J$ of the image is defined by the Jordan structure $J$ of the pre-image, consequently the projection $\mathcal O (J)\to \mathcal O (\tilde J)$ is the mapping of the symplectic manifolds. It is proved that the fiber $\mathcal E$ of the projection is a linear symplectic space and t…
Using Fock--Goncharov higher Teichmüller space variables we derive Darboux coordinate representation for entries of general symplectic leaves of the $\mathcal A_n$ groupoid of upper-triangular matrices and, in a more general setting, of higher-dimensional symplectic leaves for algebras governed by the reflection equation with the trigonometric $R$-matrix. The obtained results are in a perfect agreement with the previously obtained Poisson and quantum representations of groupoid variables for $\mathcal A_3$ and $\mathcal A_4$ in terms of geodesic functions for Riemann surfaces with holes. We re…
Darboux's theorem guarantees the existence of local canonical coordinates on symplectic manifolds under certain conditions. We demonstrate a general method to construct such Darboux coordinates in the vicinity of a fixed point of a noncanonical Hamiltonian system via normal form expansions. The procedure serves as a tool to naturally extract canonical coordinates and at the same time to transform the Hamiltonian into its Poincare-Birkhoff normal form. The method is general in the sense that it is applicable for arbitrary degrees of freedom, in arbitrary orders of the local expansion, and it is…
We present a compared analysis of some properties of 3-Sasakian and 3-cosymplectic manifolds. We construct a canonical connection on an almost 3-contact metric manifold which generalises the Tanaka-Webster connection of a contact metric manifold and we use this connection to show that a 3-Sasakian manifold does not admit any Darboux-like coordinate system. Moreover, we prove that any 3-cosymplectic manifold is Ricci-flat and admits a Darboux coordinate system if and only it is flat.
This Proceeding presents the method that allows us to get the Gyro-Kinetic Approximation of the Dynamical System satisfied by the trajectory of a particle submitted to a Strong Magnetic Field. The goal of the method is to build a change of coordinates in order to make the dynamic of two components of the trajectory to disappear. This change of coordinates is based on a Darboux mathematical Algorithm and on a Lie Transform
We use Hamiltonian reduction to simplify Falqui and Mencattini's recent proof of Sklyanin's expression providing spectral Darboux coordinates of the rational Calogero-Moser system. This viewpoint enables us to verify a conjecture of Falqui and Mencattini, and to obtain Sklyanin's formula as a corollary.
The structure properties of multidimensional Delsarte-Darboux transmutation operators in parametric functional spaces is studied by means of differential-geometric and topological tools. It is shown that kernels of the corresponding integral operator expressions depend on the topological structure of related homological cycles in the coordinate space. As a natural realization of the construction presented we build pairs of Lax type commutative differential operator expressions related via a Delsarte-Darboux transformation and having a lot of applications in soliton theory.
For a class of Schrodinger Hamiltonians the supersymmetry transformations can degenerate to simple coordinate displacements. We examine this phenomenon and show that it distinguishes the Weierstrass potentials including the one-soliton wells and periodic Lame functions. A supersymmetric sense of the addition formula for the Weierstrass functions is elucidated.
The set of world lines for the non-relativistic quartic oscillator satisfying Newton's equation of motion for all space and time in 1-1 dimensions with no constraints other than the "spring" restoring force is shown to be equivalent (1-1-onto) to the corresponding set for the harmonic oscillator. This is established via an energy preserving invertible linearization map which consists of an explicit nonlinear algebraic deformation of coordinates and a nonlinear deformation of time coordinates involving a quadrature. In the context stated, the map also explicitly solves Newton's equation for the…
We consider a hierarchy of Poisson structures defined on rational functions on the Riemann sphere. This hierarchy is originated in the theory of the integrable Camassa-Holm equation associated with the Krein's string spectral problem. Previously the proof of Jacobi identity was obtained by reducing the bracket to canonical Darboux coordinates. The main result of this note is a direct proof of the Jacobi identity. It turns out that the direct proof of the Jacobi identity is far from trivial. We also give an example of another hierarchy of Poisson brackets and construct Darboux coordinates for i…
In previous work, we have considered Hamiltonians associated with 3 dimensional conformally flat spaces, possessing 2, 3 and 4 dimensional isometry algebras. Previously our Hamiltonians have represented free motion, but here we consider the problem of adding potential functions in the presence of symmetry. Separable potentials in the 3 dimensional space reduce to 3 or 4 parameter potentials for Darboux-Koenigs Hamiltonians. Other 3D coordinate systems reveal connections between Darboux-Koenigs and other well known super-integrable Hamiltonians, such as the Kepler problem and isotropic oscillat…
We consider space discretizations of the matrix Zakharov-Shabat AKNS scheme, in particular the discrete matrix non-linear Scrhrödinger (DNLS) model, and the matrix generalization of the Ablowitz-Ladik (AL) model, which is the more widely acknowledged discretization. We focus on the derivation of solutions via local Darboux transforms for both discretizations, and we derive novel solutions via generic solutions of the associated discrete linear equations. The continuum analogue is also discussed, and as an example we identify solutions of the matrix NLS equation in terms of the heat kernel. In …
We reconsider the (rational) Calogero-Moser system from the point of view of bi-Hamiltonian geometry. By using geometrical tools of the latter, we explicitly construct set(s) of spectral canonical coordinates, that is, complete sets of Darboux coordinates defined by the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of the Lax matrix.
In this paper we derive a general linearized theory for first-order continuum dynamics on manifolds with particular application to incompatible elasticity. We adopt a global approach viewing the equations of motion as a $1$-form on the configuration space which is the Banach manifold of $C^1$ time-dependent embeddings of a body manifold $\B$ into a space manifold $§$. The linearization is done by differentiating the equations 1-form with respect to an affine connection which we construct and study extensively. We provide detailed coordinate computations for the linearized equations of a large …

We explore the non-perturbative Dyson-Schwinger equations obeyed by the partition functions of the $Ω$-deformed $\mathcal{N}=2, d=4$ supersymmetric linear quiver gauge theories in the presence of surface defects. We demonstrate that the partition functions of different types of defects (orbifold or vortex strings) are related by analytic continuation. We introduce Darboux coordinates on a patch of the moduli space of flat $SL(N)$-connections on a sphere with special punctures, which generalize the NRS coordinates defined in the $SL(2)$ case. Finally, we compare the generating function of the L…
We use separation of variables to find explicit formulas for the Darboux coordinates for the Hitchin systems on a hyprelliptic curve for simple Lie algebras of type $D_n$.
We show that the theory of classical Hamiltonian systems admitting separating variables can be formulated in the context of ($ω, \mathscr{H}$) structures. They are symplectic manifolds endowed with a compatible Haantjes algebra $\mathscr{H}$, namely an algebra of (1,1)-tensor fields with vanishing Haantjes torsion. A special class of coordinates, called Darboux-Haantjes coordinates, will be constructed from the Haantjes algebras associated with a separable system. These coordinates enable the additive separation of variables of the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi equation. We shall prove that a …
The string equation of type $(2,2g+1)$ may be thought of as a higher order analogue of the first Painlevé equation that corresponds to the case of $g = 1$. For $g > 1$, this equation is accompanied with a finite set of commuting isomonodromic deformations, and they altogether form a hierarchy called the PI hierarchy. This hierarchy gives an isomonodromic analogue of the well known Mumford system. The Hamiltonian structure of the Lax equations can be formulated by the same Poisson structure as the Mumford system. A set of Darboux coordinates, which have been used for the Mumford system, can be …
We introduce a natural class of multicomponent local Poisson structures $\mathcal P_k + \mathcal P_1$, where $\mathcal P_1$ is a local Poisson bracket of order one and $\mathcal P_k$ is a homogeneous Poisson bracket of odd order $k$ under assumption that is has Darboux coordinates (Darboux-Poisson bracket) and non-degenerate. For such brackets we obtain the general formulas in arbitrary coordinates, find normal forms (related to Frobenius triples) and provide the description of the Casimirs, using purely algebraic procedure. In two-component case we completely classify such brackets up to the …
We use the Darboux coordinate representation found by two of the authors (L.Ch. and M.Sh.) for entries of general symplectic leaves of the $\mathcal A_n$-groupoid of upper-triangular matrices to express roots of the characteristic equation $\det(\mathbb A-λ\mathbb A^{\text{T}})=0$, with $\mathbb A\in \mathcal A_n$, in terms of Casimirs of this Darboux coordinate representation, which is based on cluster variables of Fock--Goncharov higher Teichmüller spaces for the algebra $sl_n$. We show that roots of the characteristic equation are simple monomials of cluster Casimir elements. This statement…
The Darboux method is commonly used in the coordinate variable to produce new exactly solvable (stationary) potentials in quantum mechanics. In this work we follow a variation introduced by Bagrov, Samsonov, and Shekoyan (BSS) to include the time-variable as a parameter of the transformation. The new potentials are nonstationary and define Hamiltonians which are not integrals of motion for the system under study. We take the stationary oscillator of constant frequency to produce nonstationary oscillators, and also provide an invariant that serves to define uniquely the state of the system. In …

The continuous point symmetry algebra of the hyperbolic Ernst equation is presented. In a second step the corresponding group transformations are considered. Accordingly, the solutions of the hyperbolic Ernst equation that are invariant under Lie point symmetries, are constructed from the related invariant surface conditions. Furthermore, all these solutions are revealed to be related to solutions of the Euler-Poisson-Darboux equation by a simple coordinate transformation. The parallels of these results to coordinate transformations, which are important in the context of colliding plane wave s…
A method of constructing of Darboux coordinates on a space that is a symplectic reduction with respect to a diagonal action of $GL(m})$ on a Cartesian product of $N$ orbits of coadjoint representation of $GL(m)$ is presented. The method gives an explicit symplectic birational isomorphism between the reduced space on the one hand and a Cartesian product of $N-3$ coadjoint orbits of dimension $m(m-1)$ on an orbit of dimension $(m-1)(m-2)$ on the other hand. In a generic case of the diagonalizable matrices it gives just the isomorphism that is birational and symplectic between some open, in a Zar…
We study 't Hooft lines and the associated $\mathcal{L}$- operators in topological 4D Chern-Simons theory with gauge symmetry given by the exceptional groups E$_{6}$ and E$_{7}$. We give their oscillator realisations and propose topological gauge quivers encoding the properties of these topological lines where Darboux coordinates are interpreted in terms of topological fundamental matter. Other related aspects are also described.
