We propose an algorithm for obtaining the spectra of Casimir (Laplace) operators on Lie groups. We prove that the existence of the normal polarization associated with a linear functional on the Lie algebra is necessary and sufficient for the transition to local canonical Darboux coordinates $(p,q)$ on the coadjoint representation orbit that is linear in the "momenta." We show that the $\la$-representations of Lie algebras (which are used, in particular, in integrating differential equations) result from the quantization of the Poisson bracket on the coalgebra in canonical coordinates.
A new procedure for the global construction of the Casimir invariants and Darboux canonical form for finite-dimensional Poisson systems is developed. This approach is based on the concept of matrix congruence and can be applied without the previous determination of the Casimir invariants (recall that their prior knowledge is unavoidable for the standard reduction methods, thus requiring either the integration of a system of PDEs or solving some equivalent problem). Well the opposite, in the new congruence method, both the Darboux coordinates and the Casimir invariants arise simultaneously as t…
We introduce a method for calculating the joint spectra of functions which comprise a quantum integrable system under a deformation quantization star product. The main result involves a construction by formal power series in h-bar of s'Darboux coordinates, a concept we introduce for the star product analogue of Darboux normal coordinates. We will find that underlying the quantum integrable system is a set of s'Darboux coordinates which in turn gives rise to number operators for the system. We present an explicit correction to the lowest order Bohr-Sommerfeld or EBK quantization rule.
We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for a bi-Darboux Theorem on triplectic manifolds. Here triplectic manifolds are manifolds equipped with two compatible, jointly non-degenerate Poisson brackets with mutually involutive Casimirs, and with ranks equal to 2/3 of the manifold dimension. By definition bi-Darboux coordinates are common Darboux coordinates for two Poisson brackets. We discuss both the Grassmann-even and the Grassmann-odd Poisson bracket case. Odd triplectic manifolds are, e.g., relevant for Sp(2)-symmetric field-antifield formulation. We demonstrate a one-to-one correspo…
The Gauss-Manin equations are solved for a class of flat-metrics defined by Novikov algebras, this generalizing a result of Balinskii and Novikov who solved this problem in the case of commutative Novikov algebras (where the algebraic conditions reduce to those of a Frobenius algebra). The problem stems from the theory of first-order Hamiltonian operators and their reduction to a constant, or Darboux, form. The monodromy group associated with the Novikov algebra gives rise to an orbit space, which is, for a wide range of Novikov algebras, a cyclic quotient singularity.
A. de Sole, V. G. Kac, and M. Wakimoto (arXiv:1004.5387) have recently introduced a new family of compatible Hamiltonian operators of the form $H^{(N,0)}=D^2\circ((1/u)\circ D)^{2n}\circ D$, where $N=2n+3$, $n=0,1,2,...$, $u$ is the dependent variable and $D$ is the total derivative with respect to the independent variable. We present a differential substitution that reduces any linear combination of these operators to an operator with constant coefficients and linearizes any evolution equation which is bi-Hamiltonian with respect to a pair of any nontrivial linear combinations of the operator…
Using Fock--Goncharov higher Teichmüller space variables we derive Darboux coordinate representation for entries of general symplectic leaves of the $\mathcal A_n$ groupoid of upper-triangular matrices and, in a more general setting, of higher-dimensional symplectic leaves for algebras governed by the reflection equation with the trigonometric $R$-matrix. The obtained results are in a perfect agreement with the previously obtained Poisson and quantum representations of groupoid variables for $\mathcal A_3$ and $\mathcal A_4$ in terms of geodesic functions for Riemann surfaces with holes. We re…
Darboux's theorem guarantees the existence of local canonical coordinates on symplectic manifolds under certain conditions. We demonstrate a general method to construct such Darboux coordinates in the vicinity of a fixed point of a noncanonical Hamiltonian system via normal form expansions. The procedure serves as a tool to naturally extract canonical coordinates and at the same time to transform the Hamiltonian into its Poincare-Birkhoff normal form. The method is general in the sense that it is applicable for arbitrary degrees of freedom, in arbitrary orders of the local expansion, and it is…
A set of all linear transformations with a fixed Jordan structure $J$ is a symplectic manifold isomorphic to the coadjoint orbit $\mathcal O (J)$ of $GL(N,C)$. Any linear transformation may be projected along its eigenspace to (at least one) coordinate subspace of the complement dimension. The Jordan structure $\tilde J$ of the image is defined by the Jordan structure $J$ of the pre-image, consequently the projection $\mathcal O (J)\to \mathcal O (\tilde J)$ is the mapping of the symplectic manifolds. It is proved that the fiber $\mathcal E$ of the projection is a linear symplectic space and t…
This Proceeding presents the method that allows us to get the Gyro-Kinetic Approximation of the Dynamical System satisfied by the trajectory of a particle submitted to a Strong Magnetic Field. The goal of the method is to build a change of coordinates in order to make the dynamic of two components of the trajectory to disappear. This change of coordinates is based on a Darboux mathematical Algorithm and on a Lie Transform
We use the Darboux coordinate representation found by two of the authors (L.Ch. and M.Sh.) for entries of general symplectic leaves of the $\mathcal A_n$-groupoid of upper-triangular matrices to express roots of the characteristic equation $\det(\mathbb A-λ\mathbb A^{\text{T}})=0$, with $\mathbb A\in \mathcal A_n$, in terms of Casimirs of this Darboux coordinate representation, which is based on cluster variables of Fock--Goncharov higher Teichmüller spaces for the algebra $sl_n$. We show that roots of the characteristic equation are simple monomials of cluster Casimir elements. This statement…
We derive a simplified general expression for the two-body scalar Casimir energy in generalized separable coordinate systems. We apply this technique to the case of radial semi-transparent planes in the annular region between two concentric Dirichlet cylinders. This situation is explored both analytically and numerically.
The structure properties of multidimensional Delsarte-Darboux transmutation operators in parametric functional spaces is studied by means of differential-geometric and topological tools. It is shown that kernels of the corresponding integral operator expressions depend on the topological structure of related homological cycles in the coordinate space. As a natural realization of the construction presented we build pairs of Lax type commutative differential operator expressions related via a Delsarte-Darboux transformation and having a lot of applications in soliton theory.
We consider a hierarchy of Poisson structures defined on rational functions on the Riemann sphere. This hierarchy is originated in the theory of the integrable Camassa-Holm equation associated with the Krein's string spectral problem. Previously the proof of Jacobi identity was obtained by reducing the bracket to canonical Darboux coordinates. The main result of this note is a direct proof of the Jacobi identity. It turns out that the direct proof of the Jacobi identity is far from trivial. We also give an example of another hierarchy of Poisson brackets and construct Darboux coordinates for i…
We reconsider the (rational) Calogero-Moser system from the point of view of bi-Hamiltonian geometry. By using geometrical tools of the latter, we explicitly construct set(s) of spectral canonical coordinates, that is, complete sets of Darboux coordinates defined by the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of the Lax matrix.
We use Hamiltonian reduction to simplify Falqui and Mencattini's recent proof of Sklyanin's expression providing spectral Darboux coordinates of the rational Calogero-Moser system. This viewpoint enables us to verify a conjecture of Falqui and Mencattini, and to obtain Sklyanin's formula as a corollary.
A symplectic-Haantjes manifold and a Poisson-Haantjes manifold for the Lagrange top are studied and a set of Darboux-Haantjes coordinates are computed. Such coordinates are separation variables for the associated Hamilton-Jacobi equation.
We explore the non-perturbative Dyson-Schwinger equations obeyed by the partition functions of the $Ω$-deformed $\mathcal{N}=2, d=4$ supersymmetric linear quiver gauge theories in the presence of surface defects. We demonstrate that the partition functions of different types of defects (orbifold or vortex strings) are related by analytic continuation. We introduce Darboux coordinates on a patch of the moduli space of flat $SL(N)$-connections on a sphere with special punctures, which generalize the NRS coordinates defined in the $SL(2)$ case. Finally, we compare the generating function of the L…
We use separation of variables to find explicit formulas for the Darboux coordinates for the Hitchin systems on a hyprelliptic curve for simple Lie algebras of type $D_n$.

The second order casimirs for the affine Krichever--Novikov algebras $\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_{g,2}$ and $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}_{g,2}$ are described. More general operators which we call semi-casimirs are introduced. It is proven that the semi-casimirs induce well-defined operators on conformal blocks and, for a certain moduli space of Riemann surfaces with two marked points and fixed jets of local coordinates, there is a natural projection of its tangent space onto the space of these operators. It is (non-formally) explained how semi-casimirs appear in course of operator quantization of the second …
We classify Lie-Poisson brackets that are formed from Lie algebra extensions. The problem is relevant because many physical systems owe their Hamiltonian structure to such brackets. A classification involves reducing all brackets to a set of normal forms, independent under coordinate transformations, and is achieved with the techniques of Lie algebra cohomology. For extensions of order less than five, we find that the number of normal forms is small and they involve no free parameters. A special extension, known as the Leibniz extension, is shown to be the unique ``maximal'' extension. We deri…
We show that the theory of classical Hamiltonian systems admitting separating variables can be formulated in the context of ($ω, \mathscr{H}$) structures. They are symplectic manifolds endowed with a compatible Haantjes algebra $\mathscr{H}$, namely an algebra of (1,1)-tensor fields with vanishing Haantjes torsion. A special class of coordinates, called Darboux-Haantjes coordinates, will be constructed from the Haantjes algebras associated with a separable system. These coordinates enable the additive separation of variables of the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi equation. We shall prove that a …
A method of constructing of Darboux coordinates on a space that is a symplectic reduction with respect to a diagonal action of $GL(m})$ on a Cartesian product of $N$ orbits of coadjoint representation of $GL(m)$ is presented. The method gives an explicit symplectic birational isomorphism between the reduced space on the one hand and a Cartesian product of $N-3$ coadjoint orbits of dimension $m(m-1)$ on an orbit of dimension $(m-1)(m-2)$ on the other hand. In a generic case of the diagonalizable matrices it gives just the isomorphism that is birational and symplectic between some open, in a Zar…
