The LHC measurements above SPS and Tevatron energies give the opportunity to test predictions of non-extensive thermodynamical picture of hadronic interaction to examine measured transverse momenta distributions for new interaction energy range. We determined Tsallis model non-extensivity parameter for the hadronization process before short-lived particles decayed and distort the initial p_t distribution. We have shown that it follows exactly smooth rise determined at lower energies below present LHC record. The shape of the q parameter energy dependence is consistent with expectations and the evidence of the asymptotic limit may be seen.
The transverse momentum spectra of secondary $η$ particles produced in $P+P$, $D+Au$ and $Au+Au$ interactions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV at different centralities have been studied in the light of a non-extensive thermodynamical approach. The results and the possible thermodynamical insights, thus obtained, about the hadronizing process have also been discussed in detail.
We try to establish a connection between the hadronic distributions, in proton-proton collisions at very high transverse momentum $p_{\mathrm{T}}$, obtained via perturbative QCD and the Tsallis non extensive statistics. Our motivation is that while the former is expected to be valid at extremely high momentum, due to asymptotic freedom, the latter has been very successful in describing experimental spectra over a wide range of momentum. Matching the non extensive statistics with the asymptotic $p_{\mathrm{T}}$ behaviour expected from QCD leads to the value of $q=1.25$.
The predictions from a non-extensive self-consistent theory recently proposed are investigated. Transverse momentum ($p_T$) distribution for several hadrons obtained in $p+p$ collisions are analyzed to verify if there are evidence for a limiting effective temperature and a limiting entropic factor. In addition, the hadron-mass spectrum proposed in that theory is confronted with available data. It turns out that all $p_T$-distributions and the mass spectrum obtained in the theory are in good agreement with experiment with constant effective temperature and constant entropic factor. The results …
The non extensive statistics proposed by C. Tsallis has found wide applicability, being present even in the description of experimental data from high energy collisions. A system with a fractal structure in its energy-momentum space, named thermofractal, was shown to be described thermodynamically by the non extensive statistics. Due to the many common features between thermofractals and Hagedorn's fireballs, this system offers the possibility to investigate the origins of non extensivity in hadronic physics and in QCD. In this regard, the investigation of the scaling properties of thermofract…
We present here the computation of electrical and thermal conductivity by solving the Boltzmann transport equation in relaxation time approximation. We use the $q$-generalized Boltzmann distribution function to incorporate the effects of non-extensivity. The behaviour of these quantities with changing temperature and baryochemical potential has been studied as the system slowly moves towards thermodynamic equilibrium. We have estimated the Lorenz number at NICA, FAIR and the top RHIC energies and studied as a function of temperature, baryochemical potential and the non-extensive parameter, $q$…
The main thermodynamical properties of the first order phase transition of the relativistic mean-field (RMF) hadronic model were explored in the isobaric, the canonical and the grand canonical ensembles on the basis of the method of the thermodynamical potentials and their first derivatives. It was proved that the first order phase transition of the RMF model is the liquid-gas type one associated with the Gibbs free energy $G$. The thermodynamical potential $G$ is the piecewise smooth function and its first order partial derivatives with respect to variables of state are the piecewise continuo…
The creation of particles with large transverse momenta in high energy hadronic collisions is a long standing problem. The transition from small- (soft) to hard- parton scattering `high-pt' events is rather smooth. In this paper we apply the non-extensive statistical framework to calculate transverse momentum distributions of long lived hadrons created at energies from low (sqrt(s)~10 GeV) to the highest energies available in collider experiments (sqrt(s)~2000 GeV). Satisfactory agreement with the experimental data is achieved. The systematic increase of the non-extensivity parameter with ener…
We obtain the constraints on the ruling parameters of the dense hadronic gas model at the critical temperature and propose the quasiuniversal ratios of the thermodynamic quantities. The possible appearence of thermodynamical instability in such a model is discussed.
The self-consistency of a thermodynamical theory for hadronic sys- tems based on the non-extensive statistics is investigated. We show that it is possible to obtain a self-consistent theory according to the asymptotic bootstrap principle if the mass spectrum and the energy density increase q-exponentially. A direct consequence is the existence of a limiting effective temperature for the hadronic system. We show that this result is in agreement with experiments.
We present a new thermodynamical approach to multiparticle production in high energy hadronic interactions, making use of the formalism of infinitely divisible power series distributions. This approach allows us to define new observables, linked to the system fugacity, which characterise different classes of events.
We extract the excitation energy scales of the hadron spectra in a less model-dependent method using Schottky anomaly. Schottky anomaly is a thermodynamical phenomenon that the specific heat of a system consisting of a finite number of energy levels has a peak at finite temperature due to the energy gaps. Using the masses of all hadrons that are experimentally established, we obtain the excitation energy scales of the hadron spectra and investigate their flavor dependence.
The non-extensive self-consistent theory describing the thermodynamics of hadronic systems at high temperatures is used to derive some thermodynamical quantities, as pressure, entropy, speed of sound and trace-anomaly. The calculations are free of fitting parameters, and the results are compared to lattice QCD calculations, showing a good agreement between theory and data up to temperatures around 175 MeV. Above this temperature the effects of a singularity in the partition function at To = 192 MeV results in a divergent behaviour in respect with the lattice calculation.
We investigate the equilibration and the equation of state of a hot hadron gas at finite baryon density using an event generator which is designed to approximately satisfy detailed balance at finite temperatures and finite baryon densities of the hadronic scale (80 MeV < T < 170 MeV and 0.157 fm^-3 < n_B < 0.315 fm^-3). Molecular-dynamical simulations were performed for a system of hadrons in a box with periodic boundary conditions. Starting from an initial state composed of only nucleons with a uniform phase-space distribution, the evolution takes place through interactions such as collisions…
High-multiplicity proton-proton (pp) collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies have created a new domain of research to look for a possible formation of quark-gluon plasma in these events. In this paper, we estimate various thermal properties of the matter formed in pp collisions at the LHC energies, such as mean free path, isobaric expansivity, thermal pressure, and heat capacity using a thermodynamically consistent Tsallis distribution function. Particle species-dependent mean free path and isobaric expansivity are studied as functions of final state charged particle multiplicit…
A detailed study of the transverse momentum distributions of charged particles produced in proton - proton collisions at LHC energies is presented. This is done using a thermodynamically consistent form of the Tsallis distribution. All variables used are thermodynamical and in particular, the temperature $T$ follows from the standard thermodynamic definition as being the derivative of the energy with respect to the (Tsallis) entropy. The momentum distribution of the final state particles obtained describe the transverse momentum distributions very well. The values of the parameters are determi…
The Hadron-Resonance Gas (HRG) approach - used to model hadronic matter at small baryon potentials $μ_B$ and finite temperature $T$ - is extended to finite and large chemical potentials by introducing interactions between baryons in line with relativistic mean-field theory defining an interacting HRG (IHRG). Using lattice data for $μ_B=0$ as well as information on the nuclear equation of state at $T=0$ we constrain the attractive and repulsive interactions of the IHRG such that it reproduces the lattice equation of state at $μ_B=0$ and the nuclear equation of state at $T=0$ and finite $μ_B$. T…
The transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) spectra in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV, measured by the ALICE experiment at the LHC are analyzed with a thermodynamically consistent Tsallis distribution. The information about the freeze-out surface in terms of freeze-out volume, temperature and the non-extenisivity parameter, $q$, for $K^{0}_{S}$, $Λ+\barΛ$, $Ξ^{-}+\barΞ^{+}$ and $Ω^{-}+\barΩ^{+}$ are extracted by fitting the $p_{\rm T}$ spectra with Tsallis distribution function. The freeze-out parameters of these particles are studied as a function of charged particle multiplicity de…
We analyse the transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$)-spectra as a function of charged-particle multiplicity at midrapidity ($|y| < 0.5$) for various identified particles such as $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $K_S^0$, $p+\overline{p}$, $ϕ$, $K^{*0} + \overline {K^{*0}}$, and $Λ$ + $\barΛ$ in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV using Boltzmann-Gibbs Blast Wave (BGBW) model and thermodynamically consistent Tsallis distribution function. We obtain the multiplicity dependent kinetic freeze-out temperature ($T_{\rm kin}$) and radial flow ($β$) of various particles after fitting the $p_{\rm T}$-distri…
