We prove that supermodularity is a necessary condition for the generalized Hardy- Littlewood and Riesz rearrangement inequalities. We also show the necessity of the monotonicity of the kernels involved in the Riesz{type integral.
In this article we obtain the non - asymptotical low estimations for bilinear Riesz's functional through the Lebesgue spaces norms by means of building of some examples.
We analyse Morrey spaces, generalised Morrey spaces and Campanato spaces on homogeneous groups. The boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator, Bessel-Riesz operators, generalised Bessel-Riesz operators and generalised fractional integral operators in generalised Morrey spaces on homogeneous groups is shown. Moreover, we prove the boundedness of the modified version of the generalised fractional integral operator and Olsen type inequalities in Campanato spaces and generalised Morrey spaces on homogeneous groups, respectively. Our results extend results known in the isotropic Euclidea…
The purpose of this paper is to develop some methods to study Riesz type inequalities, Hardy-Littlewood type theorems and smooth moduli of holomorphic, pluriharmonic and harmonic functions in high-dimensional cases. Initially, we prove some sharp Riesz type inequalities of pluriharmonic functions on bounded symmetric domains. The obtained results extend the main results in (\textit{Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.} {\bf 372} (2019)~ 4031--4051). Furthermore, some Hardy-Littlewood type theorems of holomorphic and pluriharmonic functions on John domains are established. Additionally, we also discuss the …
We characterize the rearrangement invariant spaces for which there exists a non-constant fixed point, for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator (the case for the spaces $L^p(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ was first considered by Korry in \cite{Ko}). The main result that we prove is that the space $L^{\frac{n}{n-2},\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{n})\cap L^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ is minimal among those having this property
We show that the sharp constant in the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality can be derived using the method that we employed earlier for a similar inequality on the Heisenberg group. The merit of this proof is that it does not rely on rearrangement inequalities; it is the first one to do so for the whole parameter range.
The rearrangement inequalities of Hardy-Littlewood and Riesz say that certain integrals involving products of two or three functions increase under symmetric decreasing rearrangement. It is known that these inequalities extend to integrands of the form F(u_1,..., u_m) where F is supermodular; in particular, they hold when F has nonnegative mixed second derivatives. This paper concerns the regularity assumptions on F and the equality cases. It is shown here that extended Hardy-Littlewood and Riesz inequalities are valid for supermodular integrands that are just Borel measurable. Under some nond…
We discuss the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator on discrete Morrey spaces of arbitrary dimension. In particular, we obtain its boundedness on the discrete Morrey spaces using a discrete version of the Fefferman-Stein inequality. As a corollary, we also obtain the boundedness of some Riesz potentials on discrete Morrey spaces.
We prove the stability of the ball as global minimizer of an attractive shape functional under volume constraint, by means of mass transportation arguments. The stability exponent is $1/2$ and it is sharp. Moreover, we use such stability result together with the quantitative (possibly fractional) isoperimetric inequality to prove that the ball is a global minimizer of a shape functional involving both an attractive and a repulsive term with a sufficiently large fixed volume and with a suitable (possibly fractional) perimeter penalization.
We prove that a nonlocal functional approximating the standard Dirichlet $p$-norm fails to decrease under two-point rearrangement. Furthermore, we get other properties related to this functional such as decay and compactness, and the Polya-Szegö inequality for Riesz fractional gradients, a notion recently introduced in the literature.
In this short article we obtain the non-asymptotic upper and low estimations for linear and bilinear weight Riesz's functional through the Lebesgue spaces.
Let $t\in(0,\infty)$, $p\in(1,\infty)$, $q\in[1,\infty]$, $w\in A_p$ and $v\in A_q$. We introduce the weighted amalgam space $(L^p,L^q)_t(\mathbb R^n)$ and show some properties of it. Some estimates on these spaces for the classical operators in harmonic analysis, such as the Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator, the Calderón--Zygmund operator, the Riesz potential, singular integral operators with the rough kernel, the Marcinkiewicz integral, the Bochner-Riesz operator, the Littlewood-Paley $g$ function and the intrinsic square function, are considered. Our main method is extrapolation. We obtai…
The aim of this paper is to obtain boundedness conditions for the maximal function Mf and to prove the necessary and sufficient conditions for the fractional maximal oparator Ma in the Lorentz Morrey spaces which are a new class of functions. We get our main results by using the obtained sharp rearrangement estimates. The obtained results are applied to the boundedness of particular operators such as the Bochner Riesz operator and the Schrodinger type operators in the Lorentz Morrey spaces, where the nonnegative potential V belongs to the reverse Holder class.
In this paper we introduce generalized grand Morrey spaces in the framework of quasimetric measure spaces, in the spirit of the so-called grand Lebesgue spaces. We prove a kind of reduction lemma which is applicable to a variety of operators to reduce their boundedness in generalized grand Morrey spaces to the corresponding boundedness in Morrey spaces, as a result of this application, we obtain the boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator as well as the boundedness of Calderón-Zygmund potential type operators. Boundedness of Riesz type potential operators are also obtained in the …
Given a frequency $λ=(λ_n)$, we study when almost all vertical limits of a $\mathcal{H}_1$-Dirichlet series $\sum a_n e^{-λ_ns}$ are Riesz-summable almost everywhere on the imaginary axis. Equivalently, this means to investigate almost everywhere convergence of Fourier series of $H_1$-functions on so-called $λ$-Dirichlet groups, and as our main technical tool we need to invent a weak-type $(1, \infty)$ Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator for such groups. Applications are given to $H_1$-functions on the infinite dimensional torus $\mathbb{T}^\infty$, ordinary Dirichlet series $\sum a_n n^{-s}$, a…
We give a new proof of certain cases of the sharp HLS inequality. Instead of symmetric decreasing rearrangement it uses the reflection positivity of inversions in spheres. In doing this we extend a characterization of the minimizing functions due to Li and Zhu.
Some natural inequalities related to rearrangement in matrix products can also be regarded as extensions of classical inequalities for sequences or integrals. In particular, we show matrix versions of Chebyshev and Kantorovich type inequalities. The matrix approach may also provide simplified proofs and new results for classical inequalities. For instance, we show a link between Cassel's inequality and the basic rearrangement inequality for sequences of Hardy-Littlewood-Polya, and we state a reverse inequality to the Hardy-Littlewood-Polya inequality in which matrix technics are essential.
By the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev theorem the classical Riesz potential is bounded on Lebesgue spaces. E. Nakai and H. Sumitomo [16] extended that theorem to the Orlicz spaces. We introduce generalized potential operators on commutative hypergroups and under some assumptions on the kernel we showed the boundedness of these operators from Lebesgue space into certain Orlicz space. Our result is an analogue of Theorem 1.3 in [16].
Let $p(\cdot):\ \mathbb R^n\to(0,\infty)$ be a variable exponent function satisfying that there exists a constant $p_0\in(0,p_-)$, where $p_-:=\mathop{\mathrm {ess\,inf}}_{x\in \mathbb R^n}p(x)$, such that the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator is bounded on the variable exponent Lebesgue space $L^{p(\cdot)/p_0}(\mathbb R^n)$. In this article, via investigating relations between boundary valued of harmonic functions on the upper half space and elements of variable exponent Hardy spaces $H^{p(\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)$ introduced by E. Nakai and Y. Sawano and, independently, by D. Cruz-Uribe and L.-A…
In the 1970s Muckenhoupt and Wheeden made several conjectures relating two weight norm inequalities for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator to such inequalities for singular integrals. Using techniques developed for the recent proof of the $A_2$ conjecture we prove a related pair of conjectures linking the Riesz potential and the fractional maximal operator. As a consequence we are able to prove a number of sharp one and two weight norm inequalities for the Riesz potential.
In this paper, we prove a discrete version of the generalized Riesz inequality on $\mathbb{Z}^d$. As a consequence, we will derive the extended Hardy-Littlewood and Pólya-Szegö inequalities. We will also establish cases of equality in the latter. Our approach is totally novel and self-contained. In particular, we invented a definition for the discrete rearrangement in higher dimensions. Moreover, we show that the definition "suggested" by Pruss does not work. We solve a long-standing open question raised by Alexander Pruss in [Pru98, p494], Duke Math Journal, and discussed with him in several …
Let $L = Δ+ V$ be a Schrödinger operator with a non-negative potential $V$ on a complete Riemannian manifold $M$. We prove that the vertical Littlewood-Paley-Stein functional associated with $L$ is bounded on $L^p(M)$ {\it if and only if} the set $\{\sqrt{t}\, \nabla e^{-tL}, \, t > 0\}$ is ${\mathcal R}$-bounded on $L^p(M)$. We also introduce and study more general functionals. For a sequence of functions $m_k : [0, \infty) \to \mathbb{C}$, we define $$H((f_k)) := \Big( \sum_k \int_0^\infty | \nabla m_k(tL) f_k |^2 dt \Big)^{1/2} + \Big( \sum_k \int_0^\infty | \sqrt{V} m_k(tL) f_k |^2 dt \Big…
Frank and Lieb gave a new, rearrangement-free, proof of the sharp Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequalities by exploiting their conformal covariance. Using this they gave new proofs of sharp Sobolev inequalities for the embeddings $W^{k,2}(\mathbb{R}^n)\hookrightarrow L^{\frac{2n}{n-2k}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. We show that their argument gives a direct proof of the latter inequalities without passing through Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequalities, and, moreover, a new proof of a sharp fully nonlinear Sobolev inequality involving the $σ_2$-curvature. Our argument relies on nice commutator identities deduce…
We prove sharp inequalities for the symmetric-decreasing rearrangement in Fourier space of functions in $\mathbb{R}^d$. Our main result can be applied to a general class of (pseudo-)differential operators in $\mathbb{R}^d$ of arbitrary order with radial Fourier multipliers. For example, we can take any positive power of the Laplacian $(-Δ)^s$ with $s> 0$ and, in particular, any polyharmonic operator $(-Δ)^m$ with integer $m \geq 1$. As applications, we prove radial symmetry and real-valuedness (up to trivial symmetries) of optimizers for: i) Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequalities with derivatives of…
The $L^q$ norm of a Dirichlet polynomial $F(s)=\sum_{n=1}^{N} a_n n^{-s}$ is defined as \[\| F\|_q:=(\lim_{T\to\infty}\frac{1}{T}\int_{0}^T |F(it)|^qdt)^{1/q}\] for $0<q<\infty$. It is shown that \[ (\sum_{n=1}^{N} |a_n|^2|μ(n)|[d(n)]^{\frac{\log q}{\log 2} -1})^{1/2}\le \| F\|_q \] when $0<q<2$; here $μ$ is the Möbius function and $d$ the divisor function. This result is used to prove that the $L^q$ norm of $D_N(s):=\sum_{n=1}^{N} n^{-1/2-s}$ satisfies $\|D_N\|_q\gg (\log N)^{q/4}$ for $0<q<\infty$. By Helson's generalization of the M. Riesz theorem on the conjugation operator, the reverse in…
We introduce some new functions spaces to investigate some problems at or beyond endpoint. First, we prove that Bochner-Riesz means $B_R^λ$ are bounded from some subspaces of $L^p_{|x|^α}$ to $L^p_{|x|^α}$ for $ \frac{n-1}{2(n+1)}<λ\leq \frac{n-1}{2}, 0 < p\leq p'_λ=\frac{2n}{n+1+2λ}, n(\frac{p}{p_λ}-1)< α<n(\frac{p}{p'_λ}-1)$, and $0<R<\infty,$ and so are the maximal Bochner-Riesz means $B_*^λ$ for $ \frac{n-1}{2}\leq λ< \infty, 0 < p\leq 1$ and $-n< α<n(p-1)$. From these we obtain the $L^p_{|x|^α}$-norm convergent property of $B_R^λ$ for these $λ,p,$ and $α$. Second, let $n\geq 3,$ we prove …
In this article, the authors introduce a class of mixed-norm Herz spaces, $\dot{E}^{\vecα,\vec{p}}_{\vec{q}}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$, which is a natural generalization of mixed Lebesgue spaces and some special cases of which naturally appear in the study of the summability of Fourier transforms on mixed-norm Lebesgue spaces. The authors also give their dual spaces and obtain the Riesz-Thorin interpolation theorem on $\dot{E}^{\vecα,\vec{p}}_{\vec{q}}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$. Applying these Riesz-Thorin interpolation theorem and using some ideas from the extrapolation theorem, the authors establish both the …
The main objective of this work is to bring together two well known and, a priori, unrelated theories dealing with weighted inequalities for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator $M$, and thus, we consider the boundedness of $M$ in the weighted Lorentz space $Λ^p_u(w)$. Two examples are historically relevant as a motivation: If $w=1$, this corresponds to the study of the boundedness $M:L^p(u)\longrightarrow L^p(u),$ which was characterized by B. Muckenhoupt, giving rise to the so called $A_p$ weights. The second case is when we take $u=1$. This is a more recent theory, and was completely solve…
