We study deformations of plane curve singularities from an analytic point of view and obtain some new concrete results. We show some rather unexpected properties of Puiseux coefficients treated as functions on a suitably defined parameter space. The methods used in paper are very elementary.
We provide a very effective and explicit algorithm of finding a Puiseux expansion of a cuspidal singularity of a plane curve, when this singularity is given in a parametric form.
It is a very old and interesting open problem to characterize those collections of embedded topological types of local plane curve singularities which may appear as singularities of a projective plane curve C of degree d. The goal of the present article is to give a complete (topological) classification of those cases when C is rational and it has a unique singularity which is locally irreducible (i.e. C is unicuspidal) with one Puiseux pair.
Given an algebraic variety we get Puiseux type parametrizations on suitable Reinhardt domains. These domains are defined using the amoeba of hypersurfaces containing the discriminant locus of a finite projection of the variety.
In 1982, Tamaki Yano proposed a conjecture predicting the set of b-exponents of an irreducible plane curve singularity germ which is generic in its equisingularity class. In \cite{ACLM-Yano2} we proved the conjecture for the case in which the germ has two Puiseux pairs and its algebraic monodromy has distinct eigenvalues. In this article we aim to study the Bernstein polynomial for any function with the hypotheses above. In particular the set of all common roots of those Bernstein polynomials is given. We provide also bounds for some analytic invariants of singularities and illustrate the comp…
In 1982, Yano proposed a conjecture predicting the $b$-exponents of an irreducible plane curve singularity which is generic in its equisingularity class. In this article we prove the conjecture for the case of two Puiseux pairs and monodromy with distinct eigenvalues. The hypothesis on the monodromy implies that the $b$-exponents coincide with the opposite of the roots of the Bernstein polynomial, and we compute the roots of the Bernstein polynomial.
Tropical Newton-Puiseux polynomials defined as piece-wise linear functions with rational coefficients at the variables, play a role of tropical algebraic functions. We provide explicit formulas for tropical Newton-Puiseux polynomials being the tropical zeroes of a univariate tropical polynomial with parametric coefficients.
It is very fundamental to study irreducible plane curve singularities in algebraic geometry. The contents of the paper consist of three parts, called Part[A], Part[B] and Part[C] with Good Appendix. Our aim is to prove by Part[B] and Part[C] that a complete irreducibility algorithm for the Weierstrass polynomial of two complex variables and the Puiseux expansions in Part[A] can be explicitly and rigorously computable in an elementary way, as follows. For brevity, Weierstrass polynomials may be written by W-polys throughout this paper.
In this paper we characterize the value set $Δ$ of the $R$-modules of the form $R+zR$ for the local ring $R$ associated to a germ $ξ$ of an irreducible plane curve singularity with one Puiseux pair. In the particular case of the module of Kähler differentials attached to $ξ$, we recover some results of Delorme. From our characterization of $Δ$ we introduce a proper subset of semimodules over the value semigroup of the ring $R$. Moreover, we provide a geometric algorithm to construct all possible semimodules in this subset for a given value semigroup.
In 1982, Tamaki Yano proposed a conjecture predicting how is the set of $b$-exponents of an irreducible plane curve singularity germ which is generic in its equisingularity class. In 1986, Pi.~Cassou-Noguès proved the conjecture for the one Puiseux pair case. In a previous work the authors proved the conjecture for two Puiseux pairs germs whose complex algebraic monodromy has distinct eigenvalues. A natural problem induced by Yano's conjecture is, for a generic equisingular deformation of an isolated plane curve singularity germ to study how the set of $b$-exponents depends on the topology of …
We construct a moduli space for Legendrian curves singularities which are contactomorphic-equivalent and equisingular through a contact analogue of the Kodaira-Spencer map for curve singularities. We focus on the specific case of Legendrian curves which are the conormal of a plane curve with one Puiseux pair.
We consider a resolution of ramified irregular singularities of meromorphic connections on a formal disk via local Fourier transforms. A necessary and sufficient condition for an irreducible connection to have a resolution of the ramified singularity is determined as an analogy of the blowing up of plane curve singularities. We also relate the irregularity of Komatsu and Malgrange of connections to the intersection numbers and the Milnor numbers of plane curve germs. Finally, we shall define an analogue of Puiseux characteristics for connections and find an invariant of the family of connectio…
Let ${\cal C}$ be an algebraic space curve defined parametrically by ${\cal P}(t)\in {\Bbb K}(t)^{n},\,n\geq 2$. In this paper, we introduce a polynomial, the T--function, $T(s)$, which is defined by means of a univariate resultant constructed from ${\cal P}(t)$. We show that $T(s)=\prod_{i=1}^n H_{P_i}(s)^{m_i-1}$, where $H_{P_i}(s),\,i=1,\ldots,n$ are polynomials (called the fibre functions) whose roots are the fibre of the ordinary singularities $P_i\in {\cal C}$ of multiplicity $m_i,\,i=1,\ldots,n$. Thus, a complete classification of the singularities of a given space curve, via the factor…
In this paper we give some criteria for a family of generically reduced plane curve singularities to be equinormalizable. The first criterion is based on the $δ$-invariant of a (non-reduced) curve singularity which is introduced by Brücker-Greuel (\cite{BG}). The second criterion is based on the I-equisingularity of a $k$-parametric family ($k\geq 1$) of generically reduced plane curve singularities, which is introduced by Nobile (\cite{No}) for one-parametric families. The equivalence of some kinds of equisingularities of a family of generically reduced plane curve singularities is also studi…
We give a $δ$-constant criterion for equinormalizability of deformations of isolated (not necessarily reduced) curve singularities over smooth base spaces of dimension $\geq 1$. For one-parametric families of isolated curve singularities, we show that their topologically triviality is equivalent to the admission of weak simultaneous resolutions.
This survey may be seen as an introduction to the use of toric and tropical geometry in the analysis of plane curve singularities, which are germs $(C,o)$ of complex analytic curves contained in a smooth complex analytic surface $S$. The embedded topological type of such a pair $(S, C)$ is usually defined to be that of the oriented link obtained by intersecting $C$ with a sufficiently small oriented Euclidean sphere centered at the point $o$, defined once a system of local coordinates $(x,y)$ was chosen on the germ $(S,o)$. If one works more generally over an arbitrary algebraically closed fie…
A purely numerical approach to compact Riemann surfaces starting from plane algebraic curves is presented. The critical points of the algebraic curve are computed via a two-dimensional Newton iteration. The starting values for this iteration are obtained from the resultants with respect to both coordinates of the algebraic curve and a suitable pairing of their zeros. A set of generators of the fundamental group for the complement of these critical points in the complex plane is constructed from circles around these points and connecting lines obtained from a minimal spanning tree. The monodrom…
We consider parametric Feynman integrals and their dimensional regularization from the point of view of differential forms on hypersurface complements and the approach to mixed Hodge structures via oscillatory integrals. We consider restrictions to linear subspaces that slice the singular locus, to handle the presence of non-isolated singularities. In order to account for all possible choices of slicing, we encode this extra datum as an enrichment of the Hopf algebra of Feynman graphs. We introduce a new regularization method for parametric Feynman integrals, which is based on Leray coboundari…
New methods for computing parametric local $b$-functions are introduced for $μ$-constant deformations of semi-weighted homogeneous singularities. The keys of the methods are comprehensive Gröbner systems in Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt algebra and holonomic ${\mathcal D}$-modules. It is shown that the use of semi-weighted homogeneity reduces the computational complexity of $b$-functions associated with $μ$-constant deformations. In the case of inner modality 2, local $b$-functions associated with $μ$-constant deformations are obtained by the resulting method and given the list of parametric local $b…
It is well known that an irreducible algebraic curve is rational (i.e. parametric) if and only if its genus is zero. In this paper, given a tolerance $ε>0$ and an $ε$-irreducible algebraic affine plane curve $\mathcal C$ of proper degree $d$, we introduce the notion of $ε$-rationality, and we provide an algorithm to parametrize approximately affine $ε$-rational plane curves, without exact singularities at infinity, by means of linear systems of $(d-2)$-degree curves. The algorithm outputs a rational parametrization of a rational curve $\bar{\mathcal C}$ of degree at most $d$ which has the same…
