Considering the present limits on the masses of fourth family quarks from the Tevatron experiments, the fourth family quarks are expected to have mass larger than the top quark. Due to their expected large mass they could have different dynamics than the quarks of three families of the Standard Model. The resonant production of the fourth family up type quark t' has been studied via anomalous production subprocess gq_i-->t' (where q_i=u,c) at the LHC with the center of mass energy 10 TeV and 14 TeV. The signatures of such process are discussed within the SM decay modes. The sensitivity to anomalous coupling κ/Λ=0.1 TeV^(-1) can be reached at \sqrt{s}=10 TeV and L_int=100 pb^(-1).
It is shown that if the fourth SM fermion family exists then the Higgs boson could be observed at the LHC with an integrated luminosity of few fb-1. The Higgs discovery potential for different channels is discussed in the presence of the fourth SM family.
The resonant production of the fourth family slepton ~l_4 via R-parity violating interactions of supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider has been investigated. We study the decay mode of ~l_4 into the fourth family neutrino nu_4 and W boson. The signal will be a like-sign dimuon and dijet if the fourth family neutrino has Majorana nature. We discuss the constraints on the R-parity violating couplings lambda and lambda' of the fourth family charged slepton at the LHC with the center of mass energies of 7, 10 and 14 TeV.
The first evidence of new strong interactions may be a sufficiently massive fourth family observed at the LHC. The fourth family masses, of the leptons in particular, are constrained by the electroweak precision data, and this leads to signatures at the LHC that may imply early discovery. We study the implications of this discovery from a bottom-up perspective, where effective 4-fermion operators model the dominant effects of the new dynamics. We identify simple approximate symmetries of these operators that may be required for realistic masses of the third and fourth families. The large top m…
We study the single production of the fourth family quarks through the process pp--> Q'jX at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We have calculated the decay widths and branching ratios of the fourth family quarks (b' and t') in the mass range 300-800 GeV. The cross sections of signal and background processes have been calculated in a Monte Carlo framework. It is shown that the LHC can discover single t' and b' quarks if the CKM matrix elements |V_{t'q}|,|V_{qb'}|>=0.01.
Condensates of colored fermions driving electroweak symmetry breaking could give rise to a light pseudoscalar that would show up in the Higgs search at the LHC. The branching ratios of its decay will distinguish it from the Higgs and illuminate its origin. In particular the colored fermions may be the techniquarks of a one family technicolor theory or the quarks of a strongly interacting fourth family. The former has more difficulties in this context.
Single resonant productions of the fourth standard model generation charged lepton via anomalous interactions at gamma e colliders based on future linear e^+ e^- colliders with 500 GeV and 1 TeV center of mass energies are studied. Signatures of $γe\to \ell_4\to eγ$ and $γe\to \ell_4\to eZ$ anomalous processes followed by the hadronic and leptonic decay of the Z boson and corresponding standard model backgrounds are discussed in details. The lowest necessary luminosities to observe these processes and the achievable values of the anomalous coupling strengths are determined.
I analyze a fourth generation lepton sector in which the lightest particle is a stable Majorana neutrino. In this scenario fourth generation neutrinos have both a Dirac and Majorana mass, resulting in two Majorana neutrino mass eigenstates. A reanalysis of LEP's lower mass bound is performed on stable Majorana neutrinos from the Z width and the lower mass bound is loosened. I also extrapolate LEP's SUSY squark search with a 2 jet plus missing missing energy final state to the production and decay of a pair of heavy Majorana neutrinos; here it is expected that significant regions of the neutrin…
We investigate the impact of the fourth generation quarks on production and decays of the charged Higgs boson at CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) with triple $b$-tagging. The signal is the process $gg\to \bar{u_4}u_4$, followed by $\bar{u_4}\to W^{-} \bar{b}$ and $u_4\to h^{+} b$ decays with subsequent $h^{+}\to t \bar{b}$ and corresponding hermitic conjugates. It is shown that, if $m_{u_{4}}= 400$ GeV, considered process will provide unique opportunity to discover charged Higgs boson with mass range of 200 to 350 GeV at the first years of the LHC run.
We show that simultaneous precision measurement of the CP-violating phase in time-dependent Bs --> J/psi phi study and the Bs --> mu+ mu- rate, together with measuring m_t' by direct search at the LHC, would determine V_{t's}^*V_{t'b} and therefore the b --> s quadrangle in the four-generation standard model. The forward-backward asymmetry in B --> K* l+ l- provides further discrimination.
Possible anomalous single productions of the fourth standard model generation up and down type quarks at CERN Large Hadron Collider are studied. Namely, $p p \to u_4 (d_4) X$ with subsequent $u_4\to bW^{+}$ process followed by leptonic decay of $W$ boson and $d_4\to bγ$ (and its h.c.) decay channel are considered. Signatures of these processes and corresponding standard model backgrounds are discussed in detail. Discovery limits for quark mass and achievable values of anomalous coupling strength are determined.
In the context of the Standard model with a fourth generation, we explore the allowed mass spectra in the fourth generation quark and lepton sectors as functions of the Higgs mass. Using the constraints from unitarity and oblique parameters, we show that a heavy Higgs allows large mass splittings in these sectors, opening up new decay channels involving W emission. A Higgs heavier than $ \sim 800 GeV $ would in fact necessitate either a heavy quark decay channel t'-> b'W/b'-> t' W or a heavy lepton decay channel τ' -> ν' W as long as the mixing between the third and fourth generations is small…
From the present limits on the masses and mixings of fourth family quarks, they are expected to have mass larger than the top quark and allow a large range of mixing of the third family. They could also have different dynamics than the quarks of three families of the Standard Model. The single production of the fourth family up type quark t' has been studied via anomalous production process pp-> t'VX (where V=g,Z,γ) at the LHC with the center of mass energy of 7 and 14 TeV. The signatures of such process are discussed within both the SM decay modes and anomalous decay modes of t' quarks. The s…
Resonant production of fourth chiral family up quark at the LHC via anomalous interactions have been analyzed. It is shown that search for resonances in W^{+}b final states could lead to discovery of the fourth chiral family and simultaneously determine scale of the new physics, presumabely related to the quark and lepton compositeness. Obtained results emphasize an importance of W-leading jet invariant mass analysis in search for W+jets final states at the LHC, both with and without b-tagging.
It is expected that the LHC will soon discover the Higgs boson, or that failure to find it will severely constrain its production cross-section over a large mass range. Either one of these results spells trouble for a fourth generation that significantly enhances the Higgs production cross-section at LHC. In fact the LHC has already ruled out a SM Higgs mass in the range of 120 GeV to 600 GeV with a fourth generation at the 95% C.L. In this paper we explore options within extended scalar sectors to maintain the viability of a heavy fourth generation if an enhanced (relative to the Standard Mod…
Most limits on the fourth generation heavy top quark (the t') are based on the assumed dominance of t' -> Wb, which is expected to be case in the minimal fourth generation framework with a single Higgs (the so called SM4). Here we show, within a variant of a Two Higgs Doublet Model with four generations of fermions, that, in general, a different t' detection strategy is required if the physics that underlies the new heavy fermionic degrees of freedom goes beyond the "naive" SM4. We find that the recent CMS lower bounds: m_{t'}< 450 GeV in the semi-leptonic channel pp -> t't' -> lνqqbb and m_{t…
We study the production and decay of fourth generation leptons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).We find that for charged leptons with masses under a few hundred GeV, the dominant collider signal comes from the production through a W-boson of a charged and neutral fourth generation lepton. We present a sensitivity study for this process in events with two like-sign charged leptons and at least two associated jets. We show that with sqrts = 7 TeV and 1 inverse fb of data, the LHC can exclude fourth generation charged leptons with masses up to 250 GeV.
Recent analyses have shown that a sequential fourth generation can be consistent with precision electroweak data. We consider the possibility that the new generation could be a mirror generation with $V+A$ rather than $V-A$ interactions. Specifically we consider an extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model with a light mirror generation (mirMSSM) . Implications of this extension are explored. One consequence is an enhancement of the tau neutrino magnetic moment by several orders of magnitude consistent with the current limits on the magnetic moment of the tau. The masses of the mi…
We evaluate the LHC discovery potential for the fourth family Standard Model neutrinos in the process $pp\to Z/h\toν_{4}{\barν_{4}}\to WμWμ$. We show that, depending on their masses, the simultaneous discovery of both the Higgs boson and the heavy neutrinos is probable at early stages of LHC operation. Results are presented for both Majorana and Dirac type fourth family neutrinos.
Signals and backgrounds for strong $WW$ scattering at the SSC and LHC are considered. Complementarity of resonant signals in the $I=1$ $WZ$ channel and nonresonant signals in the $I=2$ \wpwp channel is illustrated using a chiral lagrangian with a $J=1$ \qrho resonance. Results are presented for purely leptonic final states in the $W^{\pm}Z$, $W^+W^+ + W^-W^-$, and $ZZ$ channels.
We exhibit a complementary relationship between resonant $WZ$ and nonresonant $W^+W^+$ scattering in a chiral Lagrangian model of the electroweak symmetry breaking sector with a dominant ``$ρ$'' meson. We use the model to estimate the minimum luminosity for the LHC to ensure a ``no-lose'' capability to observe the symmetry breaking sector.
The necessity of the fourth family follows from the SM basics. According to flavor democracy the Dirac masses of the fourth SM family fermions are almost equal with preferable value 450 GeV, which corresponds to common (for all fundamental fermions) Yukawa coupling equal to SU(2) gauge coupling gW. In principle, one expect u4 a little bit lighter than d4, while nu4 could be essentially lighter than l4 due to Majorana mass terms for right-handed components of neutrinos. Obviously, the fourth family quarks will be copiously produced at the LHC. However, the first indication of the fourth SM fami…
On-going Higgs searches in the light mass window are of vital importance for testing the Higgs mechanism and probing new physics beyond the standard model (SM). The latest ATLAS and CMS searches for the SM Higgs boson at the LHC (7TeV) found some intriguing excesses of events in the γγ/VV^* channels (V=Z,W) around the mass-range of 124-126 GeV. We explore a possible explanation of the γγand VV^* signals from the light CP-odd Higgs A^0 or CP-even Higgs h^0 from the general two-Higgs-doublet model with fourth-family fermions. We demonstrate that by including invisible decays of the Higgs boson A…
A fourth chiral generation, with $m_{t^\prime}$ in the range $\sim (300 - 500)$ GeV and a moderate value of the CP-violating phase can explain the anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry observed recently by the D0 collaboration. The required parameters are found to be consistent with constraints from other $B$ and $K$ decays. The presence of such quarks, apart from being detectable in the early stages of the LHC, would also have important consequences in the electroweak symmetry breaking sector.
We study the effects of a fourth generation t-prime quark in various extensions of the standard model. In the Randall-Sundrum model, the decay t-prime -> t Z has a large branching ratio that could be detected at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We also look at the two-Higgs doublet models I, II and III, and note that, in the latter, the branching ratio of t-prime -> t H, where H is a Higgs scalar or pseudoscalar, is huge and we discuss detection at the LHC.
This summary of the Workshop "Beyond the 3-generation SM in the LHC era" presents a brief discussion of the following four statements about the fourth generation: 1) It is not excluded by EW precision data; 2) It addresses some of the currently open questions; 3) It can accommodate emerging possible hints of new physics; 4) LHC has the potential to discover or fully exclude it.
We discuss the phenomenology associated with a resonant monotop collider signal, i.e. a signal in which a single top quark is resonantly produced in association with missing energy through an s-channel scalar exchange. We study both the bounds originating from dedicated monotop searches performed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments, and the constraints associated with other processes that could be induced by a new physics context favouring monotop production at colliders. The latter class of constraints includes, in particular, the recasting of analyses from the LHC and the TeVatron. All theoreti…
Imagine to discover a new fourth family of leptons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) but no signs of an associated fourth family of quarks. What would that imply? An intriguing possibility is that the new fermions needed to compensate for the new leptons gauge anomalies simultaneously address the big hierarchy problem of the Standard Model. A natural way to accomplish such a scenario is to have the Higgs itself be composite of these new fermions. This is the setup we are going to investigate in this paper using as a template Minimal Walking Technicolor. We analyze a general heavy neutrino mas…
We consider the resonant production of charged sleptons at the LHC via R-parity violation followed by gauge decays to a charged lepton and a neutralino which then decays via R-parity violation. This gives a signature of two like-sign charged leptons. In the simulation we include the full hadronisation via Monte Carlo programs. We find a background, after cuts, of 5.1+/-2.5 events for an integrated luminosity of 10 fb^-1. A preliminary study of the signal suggests that couplings of 2.10^-3 for a smuon mass of 223 GeV and smuon masses of up to 540 GeV for couplings of 10^-2 can be probed.
We present a complete next to next to leading order QCD corrections to the resonant production of sneutrino and charged slepton at the Tevatron and the Large Hadron Collider within the context of R-parity violating supersymmetric model. We have demonstrated the role of NNLO QCD corrections in reducing uncertainties resulting from renormalisation and factorisation scales and thereby making our predictions reliable.
We study the effects of a fourth generation t' quark in various extensions of the standard model. In the Randall-Sundrum model, the decay t'--> t Z has a large branching ratio that could be detected at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We also look at the two-Higgs doublet models I, II and III, and note that, in the latter, the branching ratio of t' --> t H, where H is a Higgs scalar or pseudoscalar, is huge and we discuss detection at the LHC. A few comments about the minimal supersymmetric standard model are also included.
At the LHC, dileptonic events may turn up new physics interacting with quarks and leptons. The poster child for this scenario is a resonant $Z'$, much anticipated in $\ell^+ \ell^-$ invariant mass spectra. However, angular spectra of dileptons may play an equal or stronger role in discovering a non-resonant species. This paper avails of their LHC measurements to corner the couplings and masses of leptoquarks (LQs), that can mediate $q \bar{q} \rightarrow \ell^+ \ell^-$ in the $t$-channel and dramatically alter Standard Model angular spectra. Also derived are constraints from alterations to $m_…
We study extensions of the standard model with a strongly coupled fourth generation. This occurs in models where electroweak symmetry breaking is triggered by the condensation of at least some of the fourth-generation fermions. With focus on the phenomenology at the LHC, we study the pair production of fourth-generation down quarks, D4. We consider the typical masses that could be associated with a strongly coupled fermion sector, in the range (300--600) GeV. We show that the production and successive decay of these heavy quarks into final states with same-sign dileptons, trileptons and four l…
The resonant production of sneutrinos at the LHC via the R-parity violating couplings $ł'_{ijk} L_i Q_j D^c_k$ is studied through its three-leptons signature. A detailed particle level study of signal and background is performed using a fast simulation of the ATLAS detector. Through the full reconstruction of the cascade decay, a model-independent and precise measurement of the masses of the involved sparticles can be performed. Besides, this signature can be detected in a large part of the SUSY parameter space and for wide ranges of values of several $ł'_{ijk}$ coupling constants.
The observed light neutrinos may be related to the existence of new heavy neutrinos in the spectrum of the SM. If a pair of heavy neutrinos has nearly degenerate masses, then CP violation from the interference between tree-level and self-energy graphs can be resonantly enhanced. We explore the possibility of observing CP asymmetries due to this mechanism at the LHC. We consider a pair of heavy neutrinos N_{1,2} with masses ranging from 100 to 500 GeV and a mass-splitting Δm_N = m_{N_2}-m_{N_1} comparable to their widths Γ_{N_{1,2}}. We find that for Δm_N ~ Γ_{N_{1,2}}, the resulting CP asymmet…
We compute the total cross section and the transverse momentum distribution for single charged slepton and sneutrino production at hadronic colliders including NLO supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric QCD corrections. The supersymmetric QCD corrections can be substantial. We also resum the gluon transverse momentum distribution and compare our results with two Monte Carlo generators. We compute branching ratios of the supersymmetric decays of the slepton and determine event rates for the like-sign dimuon final state at the Tevatron and at the LHC.
In recent years, the production of a SM particle with large missing transverse momentum, dubbed mono-X searches, have gained increasing attention. After the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, the run-II of the LHC will now scrutinise its properties, looking for BSM physics. In particular, one could search for mono-Higgs signals, that are typically studied in models addressing dark matter. However, this signal can appear also in models addressing the neutrino masses, if additional heavier neutrinos with masses at the electroweak scale are present. The latter will couple to the SM neutrinos a…
A perturbative new family of fermions is now severely constrained, though not excluded yet. We reconsider the current bounds (i.e., direct and from Higgs searches, R_b, oblique parameters) on the fourth generation parameter space assuming the case of a small CKM mixing with the third generation. We identify viable scenarios featuring either a light or a heavy Higgs boson. A set of representative benchmark points targeted for LHC searches is proposed with a normal (inverted) quark mass hierarchy where t' -> b'W (b' -> tW) decays are sizable. In the case where the fourth generation couplings to …

A detailed particle level study of signal and background is performed using a fast simulation of the ATLAS detector. Through the full reconstruction of the cascade decay, a model-independent and precise measurement of the masses of the involved sparticles can be performed. Existence of the fourth family follows from the basics of the Standard Model and the actual mass spectrum of the third family fermions. We discuss possible manifestations of the fourth SM family at existing and future colliders. The LHC and Tevatron potentials to discover the fourth SM family have been compared. The scenario with dominance of the anomalous decay modes of the fourth family quarks has been considered in details.
We present the general formalism for studying CP-violating phenomena in the production, mixing and decay of a coupled system of CP-violating neutral Higgs bosons at high-energy colliders. Considering the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) Higgs sector in which CP violation is radiatively induced by phases of the soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters, we apply our formalism to neutral Higgs production via {\bar b}b, gg and W^+ W^- collisions and their subsequent decays into tau^+ tau^- pairs at the LHC. We discuss CP asymmetries in the longitudinal polarizations of tau^+ tau^- pairs b…
We present a study of the production of vector resonances at the LHC via $W^+Z$ vector boson scattering and explore the sensitivities to these resonances for expected LHC luminosities. We work in the framework of the electroweak chiral Lagrangian, where these resonances can be generated dynamically by unitarizing the scattering amplitudes. We implement all these features into a model adapted for MonteCarlo, the IAM-MC, that allows us to give predictions for the sensitivity to these resonances and to the relevant parameters involved for $pp \to W^+Zjj$, $pp\to \ell_1^+\ell_1^-\ell_2^+νjj$, and …
We study Higgs-radion mixing in a warped extra dimensional model with Standard Model fields in the bulk, and we include a fourth generation of chiral fermions. The main problem with the fourth generation is that, in the absence of Higgs-radion mixing, it produces a large enhancement in the Higgs production cross-section, now severely constrained by LHC data. We analyze the production and decay rates of the two physical states emerging from the mixing and confront them with present LHC data. We show that the current signals observed can be compatible with the presence of one, or both, of these …
In R-parity violating supersymmetric models both leptogenesis and the correct neutrino masses are hard to achieve together. The presence of certain soft nonholomorphic R-parity violating terms helps to resolve this problem. We consider a scenario where the lightest and the second-lightest neutralino are nearly degenerate in mass and enough CP-asymmetry can be produced through resonant leptogenesis. In this model, the lighter chargino and the lightest neutralino are highly degenerate. We have relatively lighter gauginos which can be produced at the LHC leading to heavily ionizing charged tracks…
We investigate the production of fourth family up-type quarks using effective lagrangian approach at future lepton-hadron colliders and study the kinematical characteristics of the signal with an optimal set of cuts. We obtain the upper mass limits 500 GeV at THERA and one TeV at Linac $\otimes$ LHC.
A heavy fourth family is an example of new physics which is well defined and familiar in some respects, but which nevertheless has radical implications. In particular it eliminates a light Higgs description of electroweak symmetry breaking. We discuss an early signal for heavy quarks at the LHC in the form of an excess of "$W$-jets", and as well show how $W$-jets may be useful in the reconstruction of the heavy quark masses. We argue that fourth family quarks can be distinguished from vector-like quarks of a similar mass at roughly the same time that a same sign lepton signal becomes visible. …
We analyse the impact of LHC and Tevatron Higgs data on the viability of the Standard Model with a sequential fourth generation (SM4), assuming Dirac neutrinos and a Higgs mass of 125 GeV. To this end we perform a combined fit to the signal cross sections of pp -> H -> gamma gamma,ZZ*,WW* at the LHC, to p pbar -> VH -> V b bbar (V = W, Z) at the Tevatron and to the electroweak precision observables. Fixing the mass of the fourth generation down-type quark b' to 600 GeV we find best-fit values of m_t' = 632 GeV, m_l4 = 113.6 GeV and m_nu4 = 58.0 GeV for the other fourth-generation fermion masse…
For a new family-nonuniversal gauge interaction to be accessible at the LHC it will most likely couple preferentially to the third family. By coupling to all members of the third family the production of a new gauge boson (the $X$ with $M_X\approx1$ TeV) will lead to final states with a distinctive $τ^+τ^-$ pair. We study the mass reconstruction of the $X$ and the cuts that can enhance signal to background. The $X$ boson should be associated with the physics of flavor and in the simplest picture a fourth family. We discuss how the mass mixing between the third and fourth families affects the $…
We investigate resonant di-Higgs production as a means of probing extended scalar sectors that include a 125 GeV Standard Model-like Higgs boson. For concreteness, we consider a gauge singlet Higgs portal scenario leading to two mixed doublet-singlet states, h_1,2. For m_h_2 > 2 m_h_1, the resonant di-Higgs production process p p -> h_2 -> h_1 h_1 will lead to final states associated with the decaying pair of Standard Model-like Higgs scalars. We focus on h_2 production via gluon fusion and on the b b tau^+ tau^- final state. We find that discovery of the h_2 at the LHC may be achieved with ~ …
The pseudoscalar quarkonium state, eta_4 1^S_0, formed by the Standard Model (SM) fourth generation quarks, is the best candidate among the fourth generation quarkonia to be produced at the LHC and VLHC. The production of this J^{PC} = 0^{-+} resonance is discussed and the background processes are studied to obtain the integrated luminosity limits for the discovery, depending on its mass.
If next generations of heavy quarks and leptons exist within the standard model (SM), they can manifest themselves in Higgs boson production at the Tevatron and the LHC, before being actually observed. This generation leads to an increase of the Higgs boson production cross section via gluon fusion at hadron colliders by a factor 6-9. So, the study of this process at the Tevatron and LHC can finally fix the number of generations in the SM. Using the $WW^*$ Higgs boson decay channel, the studies at the upgraded Tevatron will answer the question about the next generation for mass values 135 GeV …
The mixing of the imaginary parts of the transition amplitudes of nearby resonances via the breakdown of the Breit-Wigner approximation has been shown to lead to potentially large modifications in the signal rates for new physics at colliders. In the case of suppression, this effect may be significant enough to lead to some new physics signatures being initially missed in searches at, e.g., the LHC. Here we explore the influence of this `width mixing' on the production of the nearly degenerate, level-2 Kaluza-Klein (KK) neutral gauge bosons present in Split-UED. We demonstrate that in this par…
We investigate the possible enhancement to the discovery of the heavy Higgs boson through the possible fourth SM family heavy neutrino. Using the channel h-> v4 v4->mu W mu W-> mu j j mu j j, it is found that for certain ranges of Higgs boson and v4 masses LHC could discover both of them simultaneously with 1 fb^-1 integrated luminosity.
We investigate the production of fourth generation neutrino in the context of new $e ν_4 W$ magnetic dipole moment type interaction in $ep$ collisions at the future lepton-hadron colliders. We have obtained the mass limits of 700 GeV for THERA ($\sqrt S$=1 TeV) and 2.8 TeV for LC$\otimes$ LHC ($\sqrt S$=3.74 TeV).
We study the lepton-induced resonant production of color-adjoint leptons (leptogluons) at the LHC employing the lepton parton density function of the proton. We demonstrate that this production mechanism can be useful to extend the LHC ability to search for leptogluons beyond purely quark/gluon initiated production processes up to ~ 3.5 TeV leptogluon masses and O(1) TeV compositeness scales. Discerning leptogluons from scalar and vector leptoquarks is also possible in this channel, given a data sample containing the order of 100 signal events. We argue that the resonant channel can be combine…
We show how a precise knowledge of parton distribution functions, in particular those of the u and d quarks, can be used to constrain a certain class of New Physics models in which new heavy charged resonances couple to quarks and leptons. We illustrate the method by considering a left-right symmetric model with a W' from a SU(2)_R gauge sector produced in quark-antiquark annihilation and decaying into a charged lepton and a heavy Majorana neutrino. We discuss a number of quark and lepton mixing scenarios, and simulate both signals and backgrounds in order to determine the size of the expected…
We consider the ATLAS and CMS searches for dijet resonances, as well as the ATLAS search for like-sign dimuon pairs at the LHC with 7 TeV center of mass energy. We interpret their exclusions in terms of bounds on the supersymmetric R-parity violating parameter space. For this we focus on resonant slepton production followed by the corresponding decay.
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model light neutralinos can satisfy the dark matter (DM) abundance constraint by resonant annihilation via a $Z$ or a light Higgs ($h$) boson. In this work we study the current and future status of this scenario by investigating relevant experimental constraints, including DM direct detection, measurements of $Z$ and Higgs invisible decays, and direct searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). To take full advantage of the LHC data, we combine the results of all relevant electroweakino searches performed by the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Collaboration.…
