Single resonant productions of the fourth standard model generation charged lepton via anomalous interactions at gamma e colliders based on future linear e^+ e^- colliders with 500 GeV and 1 TeV center of mass energies are studied. Signatures of $γe\to \ell_4\to eγ$ and $γe\to \ell_4\to eZ$ anomalous processes followed by the hadronic and leptonic decay of the Z boson and corresponding standard model backgrounds are discussed in details. The lowest necessary luminosities to observe these processes and the achievable values of the anomalous coupling strengths are determined.
We study the lepton flavor violating $μ^- \to e^{-}2γ$ decay induced by the mediation of heavy leptons such as the excited and fourth generation leptons. We have examined the effects of these leptons in the $μ^- \to e^{-}2γ$ decay. We have found that branching ratio of this decay is very sensitive to excited and fourth generation leptons. Furthermore, we have obtained the bounds on model parameters by using the current experimental limit of this decay.
We study the production and decay of fourth generation leptons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).We find that for charged leptons with masses under a few hundred GeV, the dominant collider signal comes from the production through a W-boson of a charged and neutral fourth generation lepton. We present a sensitivity study for this process in events with two like-sign charged leptons and at least two associated jets. We show that with sqrts = 7 TeV and 1 inverse fb of data, the LHC can exclude fourth generation charged leptons with masses up to 250 GeV.
Possible single productions of the fourth standard model family charged leptons via anomalous interactions at the future ep colliders are studied. Signatures of such anomalous processes and backgrounds are discussed in detail.
We consider implications of a fourth generation of leptons, allowing for the most general mass patterns for the fourth generation neutrino. We determine the constraints due to the precision electroweak measurements and outline the signatures to search for at the LHC experiments. As a concrete framework to apply these results we consider the minimal walking technicolor (MWTC) model where the matter content, regarding the electroweak quantum numbers, corresponds to a fourth generation.
We investigate the lepton flavor violation decays, $τ\to μγ$, $τ\to eγ$ and $μ\to eγ$, in the framwork of a squential fourth generation model with a heavy fourth neutrino, $ν'$. Using the recent experimental bounds, we can obtain the constraints of the $4\times 4$ leptonic mixing matrix element factors, $V_{1ν'},V_{2ν'}$ and $V_{3ν'}$. We find that LFV decays can give strigent costraints on the parameter space of the 4th neutrino mass $m_{ν'}$.
We investigate the production of fourth family up-type quarks using effective lagrangian approach at future lepton-hadron colliders and study the kinematical characteristics of the signal with an optimal set of cuts. We obtain the upper mass limits 500 GeV at THERA and one TeV at Linac $\otimes$ LHC.
Imagine to discover a new fourth family of leptons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) but no signs of an associated fourth family of quarks. What would that imply? An intriguing possibility is that the new fermions needed to compensate for the new leptons gauge anomalies simultaneously address the big hierarchy problem of the Standard Model. A natural way to accomplish such a scenario is to have the Higgs itself be composite of these new fermions. This is the setup we are going to investigate in this paper using as a template Minimal Walking Technicolor. We analyze a general heavy neutrino mas…
We consider the contributions to $g_μ-2$ from fourth generation heavy neutral and charged leptons, $N$ and $E$, at the one-loop level. Diagrammatically, there are two types of contributions: boson-boson-$N$, and $E$-$E$-boson in the loop diagram. In general, the effect from $N$ is suppressed by off-diagonal lepton mixing matrix elements. For $E$, we consider flavor changing neutral couplings arising from various New Physics models, which are stringently constrained by $μ\to eγ$. We assess how the existence of a fourth generation would affect these New Physics models.
The resonant production of the fourth family slepton ~l_4 via R-parity violating interactions of supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider has been investigated. We study the decay mode of ~l_4 into the fourth family neutrino nu_4 and W boson. The signal will be a like-sign dimuon and dijet if the fourth family neutrino has Majorana nature. We discuss the constraints on the R-parity violating couplings lambda and lambda' of the fourth family charged slepton at the LHC with the center of mass energies of 7, 10 and 14 TeV.
This study investigates the influence of the fourth generation quarks on the double lepton polarizations in B \rar K \ell^+ \ell^- decay. Taking |V_{t's}V_{t'b}|\sim \{0.01-0.03\} with phase about 100^\circ, which is consistent with the b\to s\ell^+\ell^- rate and the B_s mixing parameter Delta m_{B_s}$, we obtain that the double lepton(muon and tau) polarizations are quite sensitive to the existence of fourth generation. It can serve as a good tool to search for new physics effects, precisely, to indirect search for the fourth generation quarks(t', b').
We investigate the lepton flavor violation (LFV) decays, $τ\to lγ$ ($l=μ, e$) and $μ\to eγ$, and the newly observed muon $g-2$ anomaly in the framwork of a squential fourth generation model with a heavy fourth neutrino, $ν'$. By using the recent experimental bounds, we take the constraints of the $4\times 4$ leptonic mixing matrix element factors, $|V_{1ν'} V_{2ν'}|^2$, $|V_{1ν'} V_{3ν'}|^2 $ and $|V_{3ν'} V_{2ν'}|^2$. We find that LFV decays and $g_μ-2$ can exclude most of the parameter space of the 4th generation neutrino mass $m_{ν'}$ and give stringent constraints on the existence of the f…
I present a general exclusion bound for the Higgs in fourth generation scenarios with a general lepton sector. Recent Higgs searches in fourth generation scenarios rule out the entire Higgs mass region between 120 and 600 GeV. That such a large range of Higgs masses are excluded is due to the presence of extra heavy flavors of quarks, which substantially increase Higgs production from gluon fusion over the Standard Model rate. However, if heavy fourth generation neutrinos are less than half of the Higgs mass, they can dominate the Higgs decay branching fraction, overtaking the standard Higgs t…
This study investigates the influence of the fourth generation quarks on the total branching ratio and the single lepton polarizations in Λ_b --> Λ\ell^+ \ell^- decay. Taking $|V_{t's}V_{t'b}| {0.01-0.03} with phase just below $90^\circ$, which is consistent with the b\to s\ell^+\ell^- rate and the B_s mixing parameter Δm_{B_s}, we obtain that the total branching ratio and the single lepton(μ, τ) polarizations are quite sensitive to the existence of fourth generation. It can serve as a good tool to search for new physics effects, precisely, to search for the fourth generation quarks(t', b').
In this paper, we investigate the effects of the fourth generation of quarks on the double-lepton polarization asymmetries in the $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay. It is shown that these asymmetries in $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay compared with those of $B \rar K \ell^+ \ell^-$ decay are more sensitive to the fourth-generation parameters. We conclude that an efficient way to establish the existence of the fourth generation of quarks could be the study of these asymmetries in the $B_s \rar ϕ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay.
We show that large leptonic mixing occurs most naturally in the framework of the Sandard Model just by adding a fourth generation. One can then construct a small $Z_4$ discrete symmetry, instead of the large $S_{4L}\times S_{4R}$, which requires that the neutrino as well as the charged lepton mass matrices be proportional to a $4\times 4$ democratic mass matrix, where all entries are equal to unity. Without considering the see-saw mechanism, or other more elaborate extensions of the SM, and contrary to the case with only 3 generations, large leptonic mixing is obtained when the symmetry is bro…
We derive bounds on leptonic double mass insertions of the type $δ^{l}_{i4} δ^{l}_{4j}$ in four generational MSSM, using the present limits on $l_i \to l_j + γ$. Two main features distinguish the rates of these processes in MSSM4 from MSSM3 : (a) tan$β$ is restricted to be very small $\lesssim 3 $ and (b) the large masses for the fourth generation leptons. In spite of small $\tanβ$, there is an enhancement in amplitudes with $llrr$($δ_{i4}^{ll}δ_{4j}^{rr}$) type insertions which pick up the mass of the fourth generation lepton, $m_{τ'}$. We find these bounds to be at least two orders of magnit…
In extensions of the standard model with a heavy fourth generation one important question is what makes the fourth-generation lepton sector, particularly the neutrinos, so different from the lighter three generations. We study this question in the context of models of electroweak symmetry breaking in warped extra dimensions, where the flavor hierarchy is generated by the localization of the zero-mode fermions in the extra dimension. In this setup the Higgs sector is localized near the infrared brane, whereas the Majorana mass term is localized at the ultraviolet brane. As a result, light neutr…
We investigate the possibility of a fourth sequential generation in the lepton sector. Assuming neutrinos to be Majorana particles and starting from a recent - albeit weak - evidence for a non-zero admixture of a fourth generation neutrino from fits to weak lepton and meson decays we discuss constraints from neutrinoless double beta decay, radiative lepton decay and like-sign di-lepton production at hadron colliders.
In the Standard Model with two Higgs doublets (type II), which has a consistent trend to a flavor gauge theory and its related flavor democracy in the quark and the leptonic sectors (unlike the minimal Standard Model) when the energy of the probes increases, we impose the mixed quark-lepton flavor democracy at high ``transition'' energy and assume the usual see-saw mechanism, and consequently find out that the existence of the fourth generation of fermions in this framework is practically ruled out.
This study investigates the influence of the fourth generation quarks on the double lepton polarizations in Λ_b --> Λ\ell^+ \ell^- decay by taking |V^\ast_{t's}V_{t'b}|= 0.005,0.01,0.02,0.03 with phase \{60^\circ,90^\circ,120^\circ\}. We will try to obtain a constrain on the mass of the 4th generation top like quark t', which is consistent with the $b--> s\ell^+\ell^- rate . With the above mentioned parameters, we will try to show that the double lepton(muon, tau) polarizations are quite sensitive to the existence of fourth generation. It can serve as a good tool to search for new physics effe…
We consider the contributions to $g_μ-2$ from fourth generation neutral and charged leptons, $N$ and $E$, at the one-loop level. Diagramatically, there are two types of contributions: boson-boson-$N$, and $E$-$E$-boson in the loop diagram. In general, the effect from $N$ is suppressed by off-diagonal PMNS matrix element $V_{Nμ}$, from the Standard Model to the Two-Higgs Doublet Models. With contribution from $E$, we consider flavor changing neutral couplings.
I analyze a fourth generation lepton sector in which the lightest particle is a stable Majorana neutrino. In this scenario fourth generation neutrinos have both a Dirac and Majorana mass, resulting in two Majorana neutrino mass eigenstates. A reanalysis of LEP's lower mass bound is performed on stable Majorana neutrinos from the Z width and the lower mass bound is loosened. I also extrapolate LEP's SUSY squark search with a 2 jet plus missing missing energy final state to the production and decay of a pair of heavy Majorana neutrinos; here it is expected that significant regions of the neutrin…
We analyze the flavor changing decay $h\rightarrow μτ$ in the framework of a Two Higgs Doublet Model with a fourth generation of fermions (4G2HDM) which couples only to the heavy scalar doublet. We obtain that the respective branching ratio at one-loop level can reach values as high as $ 10^{-4}-10^{-6} $ for masses of $ 300 $ GeV to $ 1 $ TeV for the heavy leptons in the fourth family and the new heavy Higgs bosons. These radiative corrections are of the same order of magnitude as the tree level prediction of the 4G2HDM.
From non-observation at LEP1, a lower mass limit of 45 GeV has been established on any additional sequential fermion beyond the three generations. Precision measurements have further constrained the number of such additional generations, either degenerate or nearly so, to be at most one. LEP2, an energy-upgraded version of LEP1, would provide greater mass-reach in the search for such particles. We study the pair-production of fourth-generation leptons for various LEP2 energy options. We find that in most cases such particles could be discovered/ruled out up to the kinematic limit.
We investigate the possibility of a fourth sequential generation in the lepton sector. Assuming neutrinos to be Majorana particles and starting from a recent - albeit weak - evidence for a non-zero admixture of a fourth generation neutrino from fits to weak lepton and meson decays we discuss constraints from neutrinoless double beta decay, radiative lepton decay and like-sign dilepton production at hadron colliders. Also an idea for fourth generation neutrino mass model building is briefly outlined. Here we soften the large hierarchy of the neutrino masses within an extradimensional model that…
Considering the present limits on the masses of fourth family quarks from the Tevatron experiments, the fourth family quarks are expected to have mass larger than the top quark. Due to their expected large mass they could have different dynamics than the quarks of three families of the Standard Model. The resonant production of the fourth family up type quark t' has been studied via anomalous production subprocess gq_i-->t' (where q_i=u,c) at the LHC with the center of mass energy 10 TeV and 14 TeV. The signatures of such process are discussed within the SM decay modes. The sensitivity to anom…
Precise measurements of Z-boson parameters and W-boson and t-quark masses put strong constraints on non SU(2) * U(1) singlet New Physics. We demonstrate that one extra generation passes electroweak constraints even when all new particle masses are well above their direct mass bounds.
It is possible that there are additional vector-like generations where the quarks have mass terms that do not originate from weak symmetry breaking, but the leptons only get mass through weak symmetry breaking. We discuss the impact that the new leptons have on Higgs boson decay branching ratios and on the range of allowed Higgs masses in such a model (with a single new vector-like generation). We find that if the fourth generation leptons are too heavy to be produced in Higgs decay, then the new leptons reduce the branching ratio for h -> gamma gamma to about 30% of its standard-model value. …
We use recent experimental measurements of tau branching fractions to determine the weak charged current magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau and the Michel parameter $η$ with unprecedented precision. These results are then used to constrain the tau compositeness scale and the allowed parameter space for Higgs doublet models. We also present new constraints on the mass of the tau neutrino and its mixing with a fourth generation neutrino.
In this work we study the implication of the fourth generation standard model (SM4) to the single and double lepton polarization asymmetries in the $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$, $(l=μ,τ)$ decay. To see the variation in the values of lepton polarization asymmetries from the standard model values, we have taken lower bound values of CMS and ATLAS for $m_{t^\prime}=404$GeV and 552GeV respectively whereas $ϕ_{sb}$ is vary in two allowed regions $75^\circ-115^\circ$ and $240^\circ-290^\circ$ while for the numerical values of these asymmetries $|λ_{t^\prime}|$ is set to be $6\times10^{-3}…
Several recent studies performed on constraints of a fourth generation of quarks and leptons suffer from the ad-hoc assumption that 3 x 3 unitarity holds for the first three generations in the neutrino sector. Only under this assumption one is able to determine the Fermi constant G_F from the muon lifetime measurement with the claimed precision of G_F = 1.16637 (1) x 10^-5 GeV^-2. We study how well G_F can be extracted within the framework of four generations from leptonic and radiative mu and tau decays, as well as from K_l3 decays and leptonic decays of charged pions, and we discuss the role…
We investigate the possibility of adding a fourth generation of quarks. We also extend the Standard Model gauge group by adding another SU(N) component. In order to cancel the contributions of the fourth generation of quarks to the gauge anomalies we must add a generation of fermions coupling to the SU(N) group. This model has many features similar to the Standard Model and, for example, includes a natural generalisation of the Standard Model charge quantisation rule. We discuss the phenomenology of this model and, in particular, show that the infrared quasi-fixed point values of the Yukawa co…
We calculate the rates for the charged lepton flavour violating (LFV) decays l_i -> l_j gamma, tau -> l pi, tau -> l eta('), mu^- -> e^-e^+e^-, the six three-body leptonic decays tau^- -> l_i^- l_j^+ l_k^- and the rate for mu-e conversion in nuclei in the Standard Model (SM3) extended by a fourth generation of quarks and leptons (SM4), assuming that neutrinos are Dirac particles. We also calculate branching ratios for K_L -> mu e, K_L -> pi^0 mu e, B_{d,s} -> mu e, B_{d,s} -> tau e and B_{d,s} -> tau mu. We find that the pattern of the LFV branching ratios in the SM4 differs significantly from…
This paper reports the tenth-order QED contribution to lepton g-2 from diagrams of three gauge-invariant sets VI(d), VI(g), and VI(h), which are obtained by including various fourth-order radiative corrections to the sixth-order g-2 containing light-by-light-scattering subdiagrams. In the case of electron g-2, they consist of 492, 480, and 630 vertex Feynman diagrams, respectively. The results of numerical integration, including mass-dependent terms containing muon loops, are 1.8418(95) (alpha/pi)^5 for the Set VI(d), -1.5918(65) (alpha/pi)^5 for the Set VI(g), and 0.1797(40) (alpha/pi)^5 for …
The existence of the fourth quark-lepton generation is not excluded by the electroweak precision data. However, the recent results on the 126 GeV higgs boson production and decay do not allow an extra generation at least as far as the perturbation theory can be used.
Minimal models exist in which thermal, resonant leptogenesis occurs at the electroweak scale. The effects of individual lepton flavours play a crucial role and allow successful leptogenesis with large couplings between some of the charged leptons and the heavy Majorana neutrinos. This leads to potentially observable signals for low energy experiments (such as MEG, MECO and PRIME) and future linear colliders.
We study the lepton-induced resonant production of color-adjoint leptons (leptogluons) at the LHC employing the lepton parton density function of the proton. We demonstrate that this production mechanism can be useful to extend the LHC ability to search for leptogluons beyond purely quark/gluon initiated production processes up to ~ 3.5 TeV leptogluon masses and O(1) TeV compositeness scales. Discerning leptogluons from scalar and vector leptoquarks is also possible in this channel, given a data sample containing the order of 100 signal events. We argue that the resonant channel can be combine…
A simple TeV scale model for baryon and lepton number violation is presented, where neutrino mass arises via a one-loop radiative seesaw effect and B-violation obeys $ΔB=2$ selection rule. The stability of proton is connected to the neutrino mass generation. Matter-antimatter asymmetry is generated in this model via resonant baryogenesis mechanism.
We consider the effects of adding a fourth generation to a model with two compactified extra dimensions -- one warped and the other flat. The extra dimensions lead to towers of Kaluza-Klein (KK) Z bosons. Interestingly, the higher KK-Z modes depending on the flat dimension contribute more than the warped dimension. These KK-Z modes enhance the cross-section of fourth generation charged leptons . The most promising signature is the heavy charged lepton decaying to a heavy neutrino and W boson.
We consider a minimal extension of the Standard Model with one singlet neutrino per generation that can realize resonant leptogenesis at the electroweak scale. In particular, the baryon asymmetry in the Universe can be created by resonant lepton-to-baryon conversion of an individual lepton number, for example that of the $τ$-lepton. The solar and atmospheric neutrino data can be explained by a simple CP-violating Yukawa texture. The model has several testable phenomenological implications. Most interestingly, it predicts heavy Majorana neutrinos at the sub-TeV scale, which can be probed at $e^…
This paper reports the tenth-order contributions to the g-2 of the electron a_e and those of the muon a_mu from the gauge-invariant Set II(c), which consists of 36 Feynman diagrams, and Set II(d), which consists of 180 Feynman diagrams. Both sets are obtained by insertion of sixth-order vacuum-polarization diagrams in the fourth-order anomalous magnetic moment. The mass-independent contributions from Set II(c) and Set II(d) are -0.116 489 (32)(alpha/pi)^5 and -0.243 00 (29)(alpha/pi)^5, respectively. The leading contributions to a_mu, which involve electron loops only, are -3.888 27 (90)(alpha…
We discuss minimal non-supersymmetric models of resonant leptogenesis, based on an approximate flavour symmetries. As an illustrative example, we consider a resonant tau-leptogenesis model, compatible with universal right-handed neutrino masses at the GUT scale, where the required heavy-neutrino mass splittings are generated radiatively. In particular, we explicitly demonstrate, how a minimum number of three heavy Majorana neutrinos is needed, in order to obtain successful leptogenesis and experimentally testable rates for processes of lepton flavour violation, such as mu --> e gamma and mu --…
In a fourth generation model with heavy quarks, the production cross section of the Higgs boson in the gluon-gluon fusion process is significantly increased due to additional quark loops. In a similar way, the partial decay width of the decay channels $H\rightarrow gg, γγ$ and $γZ$ is modified. These changes and their impact on the Higgs search are discussed.
If next generations of heavy quarks and leptons exist within the standard model (SM), they can manifest themselves in Higgs boson production at the Tevatron and the LHC, before being actually observed. This generation leads to an increase of the Higgs boson production cross section via gluon fusion at hadron colliders by a factor 6-9. So, the study of this process at the Tevatron and LHC can finally fix the number of generations in the SM. Using the $WW^*$ Higgs boson decay channel, the studies at the upgraded Tevatron will answer the question about the next generation for mass values 135 GeV …
It has been recently shown that the quantum Boltzmann equations may be relevant for the leptogenesis scenario. In particular, they lead to a time-dependent CP asymmetry which depends upon the previous dynamics of the system. This memory effect in the CP asymmetry is particularly important in resonant leptogenesis where the asymmetry is generated by the decays of nearly mass-degenerate right-handed neutrinos. We study the impact of the non-trivial time evolution of the CP asymmetry in the so-called Minimal Lepton Flavour Violation framework where the charged-lepton and the neutrino Yukawa coupl…
We consider the neutrino sector of a Standard Model with four generations. While the three light neutrinos can obtain their masses from a variety of mechanisms with or without new neutral fermions, fourth-generation neutrinos need at least one new relatively light right-handed neutrino. If lepton number is not conserved this neutrino must have a Majorana mass term whose size depends on the underlying mechanism for lepton number violation. Majorana masses for the fourth generation neutrinos induce relative large two-loop contributions to the light neutrino masses which could be even larger than…
We discuss $Z$ mediated flavour changing neutral currents within a model where the hierarchical quark and lepton masses are explained via a fourth vector-like family, together with a scalar sector consisting of two Higgs doublets augmented by a gauge singlet scalar field that spontaneously breaks an extra global $U(1)^{\prime}$ symmetry. The $Z$ mediated flavor violating interactions arise from the mixings between the SM fermions and the vector-like fermions, where the mixing is discussed in an analytic approximation and also exactly numerically. We first discuss charged lepton flavor violatin…
We study the possibility of dark matter in the form of heavy neutrinos from a fourth lepton family with helicity suppressed couplings such that dark matter is produced thermally via annihilations in the early Universe. We present all possible constraints for this scenario coming from LHC and collider physics, underground direct detectors, neutrino telescopes, and indirect astrophysical searches. Although we embed the WIMP candidate within a model of composite dynamics, the majority of our results are model independent and applicable to all models where heavy neutrinos with suppressed couplings…
The resonant production of sneutrinos at the LHC via the R-parity violating couplings $ł'_{ijk} L_i Q_j D^c_k$ is studied through its three-leptons signature. A detailed particle level study of signal and background is performed using a fast simulation of the ATLAS detector. Through the full reconstruction of the cascade decay, a model-independent and precise measurement of the masses of the involved sparticles can be performed. Besides, this signature can be detected in a large part of the SUSY parameter space and for wide ranges of values of several $ł'_{ijk}$ coupling constants.
This study examines the influence of the fourth generation quarks on the double lepton polarizations forward--backward asymmetries in B \rar K^\ast \ell^+ \ell^- decay. We obtain that for both (muon, tau) channels the magnitude and the sign of the differential forward--backward asymmetries and the magnitude of the average forward--backward asymmetries are quite sensitive to the 4th generation quarks mass and mixing parameters. It can serve as a good tool to search for new physics effects, precisely, to search for the fourth generation quarks(t', b') via its indirect manifestations in the loop …
We study the effects of the fourth generation of quarks on the total branching ratio and the lepton polarizations in $\bar{B}_{0}\rightarrow K_{0}^{\ast}(1430)l^{+}l^{-}$($l$ = $μ$, $τ$) decay. Taking fourth generation quark mass $m_{t{\prime}}$ of about $400$ to $600$ GeV with the mixing angle $|V_{t^{\prime}b}^{\ast}V_{t^{\prime}s}|$ in the range $(0.05-1.4)\times 10^{-2}$ and using the phase to be $80^{o}$%, it is found that the branching ratio and lepton polarizations are quite sensitive to these fourth generation parameters. In future the experimental study of this decay will give us an o…
We propose a simple extension of the standard model by adding a fourth generation vector-like lepton doublet and show that if the fourth neutrino is a massive pseudo-Dirac fermion with mass in the few hundred GeV range and mass splitting of about 100 keV, its lighter component can be a viable inelastic dark matter candidate. Its relic abundance is produced by the CP violating out-of-equilibrium decay of the type-II seesaw scalar triplet, which also gives rise to the required baryon asymmetry of the Universe via type-II leptogenesis, thus providing a simultaneous explanation of dark matter and …
In the spin-charge-family theory four massless families of quarks and leptons before the electroweak break are predicted. Mass matrices of all the family members demonstrate in this proposal the same symmetry, determined by the family groups. There are scalar fields - two $SU(2)$ triplets, the gauge fields of the family quantum numbers, and three singlets, the gauge fields of the three charges ( $Q, Q'$ and $Y'$)- all doublets with respect to the weak charge, which determine mass matrices on the tree level and, together with other contributions, also beyond the tree level. The symmetry of mass…
The Standard Model (SM) is amended by one generation of quarks and leptons which are vector-like (VL) under the SM gauge group but chiral with respect to a new $\mathrm{U}(1)_{3-4}$ gauge symmetry. We show that this model can simultaneously explain the deviation of the muon $g-2$ as well as the observed anomalies in $b\rightarrow sμ^+μ^-$ transitions without conflicting with the data on Higgs decays, lepton flavor violation, or $B_s-\bar{B}_s$ mixing. The model is string theory motivated and GUT compatible, i.e. UV complete, and fits the data predicting VL quarks, leptons and a massive $Z'$ at…
In the context of the Standard model with a fourth generation, we explore the allowed mass spectra in the fourth generation quark and lepton sectors as functions of the Higgs mass. Using the constraints from unitarity and oblique parameters, we show that a heavy Higgs allows large mass splittings in these sectors, opening up new decay channels involving W emission. A Higgs heavier than $ \sim 800 GeV $ would in fact necessitate either a heavy quark decay channel t'-> b'W/b'-> t' W or a heavy lepton decay channel τ' -> ν' W as long as the mixing between the third and fourth generations is small…
Resonant productions of the first generation scalar and vector diquarks at high energy hadron-hadron (pp), lepton-hadron (ep) and lepton-lepton (e+e-) colliders are investigated. Taking into account the hadronic component of the photon, diquarks can be produced resonantly in the lepton-hadron and lepton-lepton collisions. Production rates, decay widths and signatures of diquarks are discussed using the general, SU(3)_{C} x SU(2)_{W} x U(1)_{Y} invariant, effective Lagrangian. The corresponding dijet backgrounds are examined in the interested invariant mass regions. The attainable mass limits a…
The issue of gauge unification in the (non-supersymmetric) Standard Model is reinvestigated. It is found that with just an additional fourth generation of non-sequential and long-lived quarks and leptons, SU(3)xSU(2)xU(1) gauge couplings converge to a common point of approximately 3.5x10^{15} GeV (corresponding to a proton lifetime of approximately 10^{34 plus/minus 1} years). This result is due to the non-negligible- but still perturbative- contributions of the top and fourth generation Yukawa couplings to the gauge two-loop beta functions, in contrast with the three generation case where suc…
