Using the irreducible tensor-operator technique, we establish the relation between different forms of spin tomograms. Quantizer and dequantizer operators are presented in simple explicit forms and are specified for the low-spin states. The kernel of the star-product is evaluated for qubits and qutrits and its connection with a generic formula is found.
The bidirectional steerability between different-size subsystems is discussed for a single parameter accelerated qubit-qutrit system. The decoherence due to the mixing and acceleration parameters is investigated, where for the total system and the qutrit, it increases as the mixing parameter increases, while it decreases for the qubit. The non-classical correlations are quantified by using the local quantum uncertainty, where it increases at large values of the acceleration parameter. The possibility that each subsystem steers each other is studied, where the behavior of the steering inequalit…
We investigate the notion of uncertainty region using the variance based sum uncertainty relation for qubits and qutrits.We compare uncertainty region of the qubit (a 2-level system) with that of the qutrit (3-level system) by considering sum uncertainty relation for two non-commuting Pauli-like observables, acting on the two dimensional qubit Hilbert space. We identify that physically valid uncertainty region of a qubit is smaller than that of a qutrit. This implies that an enhanced precision can be achieved in the measurement of incompatible Pauli-like observables acting on the 2-dimensional…
The no-cloning theorem forbids the distribution of an unknown state to more than one receiver. However, if the sender knows the state, and the state is chosen from a restricted set of possibilities, a procedure known as remote state preparation can be used to broadcast a state. Here we examine a remote state preparation protocol that can be used to send the state of a qubit, confined to the equator of the Bloch sphere, to an arbitrary number of receivers. The entanglement cost is less than that of using teleportation to accomplish the same task. We present a number of variations on this task, …
In this article, we introduce a framework for quantum state tomography of qutrits by projective measurements. The framework is based on photon-counting with measurement results distorted due to the Poisson noise and dark counts. Two different measurement schemes are investigated numerically and compared in terms of their efficiency for distinct numbers of photons per measurement. The accuracy of state reconstruction is quantified by figures of merit which are presented on graphs versus the amount of noise.
Gate-based quantum computation has been extensively investigated using quantum circuits based on qubits. In many cases, such qubits are actually made out of multilevel systems but with only two states being used for computational purpose. While such a strategy has the advantage of being in line with the common binary logic, it in some sense wastes the ready-for-use resources in the large Hilbert space of these intrinsic multi-dimensional systems. Quantum computation beyond qubits (e.g., using qutrits or qudits) has thus been discussed and argued to be more efficient than its qubit counterpart …
Most studies of collective dephasing for bipartite as well as multipartite quantum systems focus on a very specific orientation of magnetic field, that is, z-orientation. However, in practical situations, there are always small fluctuations in stochastic field and it is necessary that more general orientations of fields should be considered. We extend this problem to qubit-qutrit systems and study correlation dynamics for entanglement and local quantum uncertainty for some specific quantum states. We find that certain quantum states exhibit freezing dynamics both for entanglement and local qua…

On the local and non-local content of bipartite qubit and qutrit correlations
使用Elitzur、Popescu和Rohrlich [Phys. Lett. A \textbf{162},25(1992)]。这项工作的重点是分布,可以通过单副本冯诺依曼测量二分量子系统。对于纯双量子比特态Psi(theta)=cos(theta)|00>+sin(theta)|11>,其中cos(θ)>=sin(θ),发现相应概率分布的局部内容位于1-sin(2* θ)和cos(2* θ)之间。对于家庭Psi(gamma)=(|00>+|11>+gamma*| 22>)/sqrt(2+gamma^2),发现gamma>2的非零局域含量。
We prove that all states (mixed or pure) of qubit-qutrit ($2\times 3$) systems have entanglement-preserving unitary (EPU) equivalence to a compact subset of true-generalized X (TGX) states called EPU-minimal TGX states which we give explicitly. Thus, for any spectrum-entanglement combination achievable by general states, there exists an EPU-minimal TGX state of the same spectrum and entanglement. We use I-concurrence to measure entanglement and give an explicit formula for it for all $2\times 3$ minimal TGX states (a more general set than EPU-minimal TGX states) whether mixed or pure, yielding…
