In this paper, we investigate the three-dimensional Schrodinger operator with a periodic, relative to a lattice Ω of R3, potential q. A special class V of the periodic potentials is constructed, which is easily and constructively determined from the spectral invariants. First, we give an algorithm for the unique determination of the potential q in V of the three-dimensional Schrodinger operator from the spectral invariants that were determined constructively from the given Bloch eigenvalues. Then we consider the stability of the algorithm with respect to the spectral invariants and Bloch eigenvalues. Finally, we prove that there are no other periodic potentials in the set of large class of functions whose Bloch eigenvalues coincides with the Bloch eigenvalues of q in V.
We consider the one-dimensional discrete Schrödinger operator with complex-valued sparse periodic potential. The spectrum for a complex-valued periodic potential is a complicated compact set in the complex plane represented by real intersections of algebraic curves determined by a discriminant. We represent the discriminant by Chebyshev polynomials and use perturbations of the discriminant to study the spectrum.
For analytic quasi-periodic Schrödinger cocycles, You and Zhang [9] proved that the Lyapunov exponent is Hölder continuous for weak Liouville frequency. In this paper, we prove that the Hölder continuity also holds if the analytic potential is weakened to Gevrey potential.
We study the inverse spectral problem for periodic Schrödinger opera\-tors of kind $- \frac{1}{2} \hbar^2 Δ_x + V(x)$ on the flat torus $\Bbb T^n := (\Bbb R / 2 π\Bbb Z)^n$ with potentials $V \in C^{\infty} (\Bbb T^n)$. We show that if two operators are isospectral for any $0 < \hbar \le 1$ then they have the same effective Hamiltonian given by the periodic homogenization of Hamilton-Jacobi equation. This result provides a necessary condition for the isospectrality of these Schrödinger operators. We also provide a link between our result and the spectral limit of quantum integrable systems.
We construct multidimensional almost-periodic Schrödinger operators whose spectrum has zero lower box counting dimension. In particular, the spectrum in these cases is a generalized Cantor set of zero Lebesgue measure.
Under the effect of suitable time-periodic magnetic fields, the velocity of a charged particle grows exponentially in $t$; this phenomenon provides the asymptotic completeness for wave operators with slowly decaying potentials. These facts were shown under some restrictions for time-periodic magnetic fields and the range of wave operators. In this study, we relax these restrictions and finally obtain the asymptotic completeness of wave operators. Additionally, we show them under generalized conditions, which are truly optimal for time-periodic magnetic fields. Moreover, we provide a uniform re…
This is a survey of recent progress on the irreducibility of Fermi varieties, rigidity results and embedded eigenvalue problems of discrete periodic Schrödinger operators.
We show that a generic quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator in $L^2(\mathbb{R})$ has purely singular spectrum. That is, for any minimal translation flow on a finite-dimensional torus, there is a residual set of continuous sampling functions such that for each of these sampling functions, the Schrödinger operator with the resulting potential has empty absolutely continuous spectrum.
We consider Schrödinger operators with periodic potentials on periodic discrete graphs. Their spectrum consists of a finite number of bands. We determine trace formulas for the Schrödinger operators. The proof is based on the decomposition of the Schrödinger operators into a direct integral and a specific representation of fiber operators. The traces of the fiber operators are expressed as finite Fourier series of the quasimomentum. The coefficients of the Fourier series are given in terms of the potentials and cycles in the quotient graph from some specific cycle sets. We also present the tra…
We consider the quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator with the non-degenerate Gevrey potential for the Diophantine frequency. We prove that if the coupling number of the potential is large, then the spectrum is homogeneous.
For non-self-adjoint almost-periodic Schrödinger operators, a criterion is given to guarantee that they have both the same spectrum and same Lyapunov exponents with the discrete free Laplacian. As a byproduct, we show that the Moser-Pöschel argument for opening gaps may not be valid for non-self-adjoint operators.
We consider the homogenization at second-order in $\varepsilon$ of $\mathbb{L}$-periodic Schrödinger operators with rapidly oscillating potentials of the form $H^\varepsilon =-Δ+ \varepsilon^{-1} v(x,\varepsilon^{-1}x ) + W(x)$ on $L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)$, where $\mathbb{L}$ is a Bravais lattice of $\mathbb{R}^d$, $v$ is $(\mathbb{L} \times \mathbb{L})$-periodic, $W$ is $\mathbb{L}$-periodic, and $\varepsilon \in \mathbb{N}^{-1}$. We treat both the linear equation with fixed right-hand side and the eigenvalue problem, as well as the case of physical observables such as the integrated density of sta…
We consider one-dimensional quasi-periodic Schrödinger operators with analytic potentials. In the positive Lyapunov exponent regime, we prove large deviation estimates which lead to optimal Hölder continuity of the Lyapunov exponents and the integrated density of states, in both small Lyapunov exponent and large coupling regimes. Our results cover all the Diophantine frequencies and some Liouville frequencies.
In this paper we study on $L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)$ the quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator $H=-Δ+ λV(x),$ where $V$ is a real analytic quasi-periodic function and $λ>0$. We first show that $H$ has no eigenvalues in \textit{low energy region}. We also provide in \textit{low energy region} the new phase transition parameter, i.e. the competition between the strength of coupling and the length for frequencies.
